Ce beau livre relie et illustre a ete commande en 1918 pour honorer les musulmans morts pour la France, et n'avait jamais ete reedite en integralite avec l'histoire du contexte historique et la vie d'Etienne Dinet.

كان الدافع من القراءة هو التعرف على الرؤية و المنظور الذي رأى من خلاله " ناصر الدين - اتيين دينيه" سيرة النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فالكتاب سيرة منتقاه و مختصره لبعض المشاهد من حياة النبي ، استطاع ناصر الدين أن يرسم بقلمه تلك المشاهد وكأنها لوحة فنية حية نابضة كتلك اللوح التي برع في رسمها فقد استطاع أن يجعل من لغتة في الكتاب لغة حية مليئة بالمشاعر و العواطف النابضة المتجددة
و رغم بعض المواقف التي اتخذها كجعل القرآن الآية الوحيدة المعجزة التي جاء بها الرسول و محاولة تفسير أو التقليل من شأن بعض الآيات المعجزة الأخرى ، أو فهمه لحجاب النساء انه لنساء النبي فقط ، إلا أن تفانيه في فهم الإسلام فهم صحيح جعله يوفق في رسم لوحته تلك وجعلها متحركة تؤثر في النفس
حتى خيل لي أن تلك المواقف من السيرة قد قدمت كأنها عمل أدبي

This book was penned in 1916, almost a hundred years ago, and therefore it is a good book to read than a biography of the prophet penned post the political correctness era (of the west). It gives you a rare window into the Muslim psyche independant of the western influence that most present day writers espouse.

although thisbook lacks the most eloquent prose I'd say this public domain work ought ot be read for the concluding chapter 10 alone, which not only offrers astonishing facts that lost to the world, but also a summary of the sociological trajectory of the Muslim world that it has tread since the days of the prophet.

I give it 4-stars on these 2 counts.
