The New Pioneers #4

Let's Move On

Rate this book
Zainab has spent years keeping Emily from going over the edge, giving Miranda a shoulder to cry on and nursing Jessie back to health. They'll be the first to agree that she deserves whatever makes her happy, especially after the drama Richard put her through. But did she have to choose the guy who threw everyone's lives into the shredder?Richard knows he screwed up and he'd do anything to get Zainab back, but first he needs to make sure his company—and his loyal employees—don't go under. (Who knew kicking your primary investor to the curb would have consequences?) Good thing his family has such deep pockets; too bad he doesn't want to take a cent from them. Why should Zainab take him back if he can't get out of his own way?Maybe Zainab can eat her cake and have it too—that is, until she's given an ultimatum. The choice isn't Lover A or B; it's protecting her friends or letting them fend for themselves. With that hanging over her head, what's it going to take to make sure she and everyone else can finally move on?

Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

We find ourselves where we left off with the last book: a bunch of dirty laundry is now out in the open, pretty much all the main cast has been filled in about the lives of the others, and there's a TON of mixed emotions flying around. However, this group have all been through Hell before, right? They'll definitely get past this, no problem...right?

This series is one of my favorites, because you can really find yourself involved with every single character. This one pays more attention to Zainab than the previous ones, but of course, everyone else still has significant roles. Without giving too much away for anyone who's not caught up by this point, there's a WHOLE lot of drama, many tears, lots of shouting, but also happy-go-lucky moments and love is still in the air. How will your favorite fair in this installment? Definitely read it to find out!

Fake it until you make it!
Hotness factor: so many couples so little time!

Ah… the final instalment of the New Pioneers series and this time it was centred on Zainab and picked up right where The China Doll ended.
All the men in the group seriously fucked up and now women now leaves together in Emily’s house. The doghouse is such a nice place to be… NOT! I love the grovelling and the girl powers.
I’m not taking sides, but I have one thing to say about the men in this group: fake it until you make it, dudes! Women do this all the time without messing around or exchanging strange emails. Yes, your women are not the easiest ones. I’m talking to you Mitch, I feel your pain Emily is an acquired taste. Good luck with that one.
I would have loved writing the whole review about Zainab and Richard but my only regret in this book was that there were not enough about them in it. Zainab has been a real a trooper through all the books and deserved a whole one just about her. Richard, well he’s been through a lot… Most of the men of that series were just not mature enough to handle a healthy relationship. Typical male right lol
But the big winner in this series since book two has been Miranda and Michael’s storyline. It has its own book and took over two more with a very bittersweet resolution. I don’t know if Michael could ever redeem himself, but he’s sure as hell trying.
I’m only teasing out of love and I love this series. The epilogue would have you shed a tear or two. As usual Deborah Nam-Krane did an excellent job with her story, tying up all the loose ends and create a couple of new ones. But please next time more Zainab, less M&M and no Emily… she really rubs me the wrong way.
