COZY DARK ROMANCE OV! Low angst, plenty of fun, and a delightfully unhinged pack! --
Omega Wanted
Only the desperate go looking for jobs on the darkweb. Only the reckless steal from the pack doing the hiring.
Guess that makes me both. But when it comes to protecting my little sister, I'll take risks most omegas wouldn't dream of.
What should have been a one-time job turns into something more complicated, because this pack doesn't just want revenge. They want me,and they're offering the kind of stability I've only ever dreamed of.
They need an omega thief. I need a safe place to land.
On paper, it's the perfect deal.
Except now they want me to get close to Tristan Kain, a powerful, untouchable alpha whose empire they want to destroy from the inside.
There's just one small problem. Tristan is the father I've never met.
And if I betray him. . . I might lose more than just the job.
Absolutely captivating. I just couldn't put this book down! I adore an omegaverse book and Rory delivers as usual!! I adore the morally grey, well mostly black, pack Lennox, and Hazel is a tormented but heart of gold kind of gal. I love the resistance and taking down the tormentors. I adore Lottie, so cute, plus Hazel's love for her knows no bounds!! And the sexy times!! Yes please!! Let me clean up the drool!! Where can I join Pack Lennox?
I am pleasantly surprised by this one as I thought it would be a rather dark one and although there are some darker undertones, the story itself was rather sweet and tender.
The FMC has been looking after younger sister as best as she could, given the circumstances. When her unusual career leads her to her future pack, things start to change in her life. However, when you have never had any emotional support from others, trust seems to be a complicated concept to grasp. Suspicion and uncertainty preoccupied the leading lady until she was proven otherwise.
Two alphas and a beta, alluring, capable and quite head over hills for their omega. The gentlemen here had their own trauma to deal with and when the ghosts from the pasts emerge, they had to face their darkest demons.
As the genre suggests, this had all the passionate moments that were expected, but at the same time it did allow for each connection to develop on its own. I really liked Ezra, the beta. He really stood out for me here more than the alphas. Unfortunately, the other two gentlemen I did find lacking a bit. The FMC started off as quite confident, but then there was this drastic change in her, which did bug me a tad. Regardless, the overall story is a pretty decent one- I love a found family and taking in another person under your wing, who is not part of the initial plan as admirable.
Ahhhhh! I've been waiting for another in this universe! I really enjoyed Pack of Crooks. It has some darker elements, but not too dark. I loved Hazel! She hasn't had the best life and does what she needs to do to survive and provide for her sister. I loved the pack too! They want Hazel and they push hard enough to get her where they want her, but not so hard to where they scare her off. I mean who doesn't love a good stal ker or three...
We did get to see a glimpse thieves from the first book, they're my first loves in this world, but Hazel and her pack were a great additon. I would love more of these darker packs!
There’s just something about a Rory Miles Omegaverse, they absolutely hit the spot every time. Rory is a comfort auto read author for me.
Hazel is an Omega just trying to survive and support her younger sister by any means necessary. Sometimes that means a little thievery! Shes got a bit of trauma, but she’s a fighter. Pack Lennox is a little rough around the edges and dabble in some things dark. Mad, Ezra, and Kill have been friends since childhood and have stuck together through it all. These guys also have a shared trauma in their past.
These guys place an ad looking for an omega, but one with very specific assets. Hazel decides to go for it and is surprised when one of the masked men is someone she’s encountered before. This is definitely a cozy, dark read in that these men are ready to woo and court the crap out of Hazel to win her over but also, they will burn the world down for anyone who wrongs her. I also loved how accepting they were of her younger sister and how seamlessly they brought her into the mix.
This honestly has everything. A little obsession, stalking, courting, edging all the fun things!! This is a MMFM group dynamic.
4.3 stars. I think the slump is still affecting my reading mood, because I was a little bored at times throughout this book. I did enjoy it, and I don’t actually think it was boring or even slow, but I just didn’t love it as much as I wanted to. Ugh. I was hoping doing some rereads of some of my favorite books would pull me out of this slump, but I don’t think it worked.😩
i have been waiting for another book in this OV universe and now did not disappoint. Hazel is just trying to survive and take care of her teenage sister as her legal guardian. but life hasn’t been easy for her or her sister, so Hazel’s main source of income is being a thief. when a big payday opportunity comes through from dark web that could set up Hazel and her sister for the rest of their lives, Hazel can’t turn the opportunity down. however, when she goes to interview for the job, it turns out out one of men is the alpha she pickpocketed earlier that morning. and now these 2 alphas and beta want her longer than just for the job, they want to keep her forever.
Hazel is a fierce and pretty hilarious fmc who is willing to do anything to give her younger sister a better life. and the men are obsessed with her the minute they meet her. yes they are all slightly unhinged, especially my fav Maddox, but stalking is a form of courting, right??? and since Lottie, Hazel’s sister, is her first priority in life, by extension the men all make her a priority as well.
you’ve got an overarching plot of revenge but also lots of spice once it begins. and you even get an appearance of Jo, Mac, Lark, and Vette from 𝑵𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒔.
𝑷𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔 is another hit omegaverse from Rory Miles that i would highly recommend if you love a little darker of an OV with a strong fmc and morally gray obsessed mmcs 🖤
thank you Rory Miles for an e-ARC of 𝑷𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔
MMFM, ABOA, 1st person multi POV sister raising younger sister, thief fmc, masked men, chase play, stalking by the mmcs, touch her and die, revenge, heat scene, biting/bond marks, group scenes, MM scenes, cum lotion, courting, HEA, interconnected standalone
*Why Choose *Contemporary *Omegaverse *Multi-1st-PoV *Thief FMC *Morally Grey MMCs *Revenge Plot *Established Harem (3) *Existing MM *Mid Burn *Standalone A great cozy dark spicy OV why choose read. Hazel is a great FMC who’s got sassiness to boot 😁 she’s street wise and has a knowledge of trickery and deception! However she uses it for good use to look after her sister 🥰 Hazel has had a tough life and has given everything she can to keep Lottie safe and keep her happy, however it’s often come to the detriment of her own self 🙈 so when she finds a pack who are willing to fulfill her needs (both general and seggsual) she can’t trust it at first 😖 but as the story develops you see her begin to trust them and really let her heart feel it all 💕 Killian is the initial alpha she meets who’s like a 🔪y pyscotic playful golden retriever 🤣 his boyfriend is Ezra the beta who is certainly the more level headed of the trio and in tune with each of their feelings however he still has that possessive streak; and then there’s Maverick the giant teddy bear, a gruff demeanour but if nice you’re in his heart that’s absolutely it! The kinks in this range from masked men primal play to nurturing care giving and a mix in between🥰 the plot in this is also interesting with who they’re out to get and why, did feel the final 🔪 scene was a little rushed but other than that good pacing. A great cozy dark spicy why choose read.
I had an early copy and this book was everything I wanted it to be. I adored Nest of Thieves so much and was so glad when Pack of Crooks was just as good. This is a lower angst dark romance. I loved all of the characters, but I need to give a special shout out for Killian, he was totally my favourite.
If you read this book, let's start a drinking game lol
There is so much smut, it doesn't even read natural, even for an omegaverse.
The worst part is, it's very clear where the story is going. So if dubious smut is on your read list, this is it. I'm kindaa mad, I was expecting actual villains. Not even one blooded rose.
Holy moly! I didn’t realize just how much I missed reading hot yet criminal alphas. Rory Miles has this subgenre down! My go to when I want a bit of fun with thieving omegas.
This book had me hooked from page one. It's funny from start to finish, interesting and has just enough suspense to keep you on your toes.
Hazel is a perfect, slightly dark, FMC - smart, witty, she has a good core but with a nice layer of protective grey morality. There is not a single page or word that I would want changed for this character. A lot of authors would be well served if they learned good FMC building from Rory miles.m The MMCs are solid winners as well - twisted but with good reasons, and completely loveable for Hazel and her sister. Speaking of Lottie, she makes a good side character. Along with Milly we get this perfect girl core - supportive and loyal but still willing to call your crap out.
The story works so well. Any questions about pack Lennox delaying their vengeance are answered by the end. The antagonist resolution is perfect for a bloodthirsty soul. Hazel's relationship building with pack Lennox is well paced and sensible.
I'm sad this book wasn't longer, despite it's 400+ pages, because I enjoyed it so much.
While this is a dark, why choose, omegaverse, I would say it's a bit on the lighter side of dark just because of the love and devotion that we see from the characters. I loved their little unhinged moments and how they banded together. The FMC was so deserving of this pack and I loved seeing them come together and gain her trust and show her will affection. The book, like the pack, is unhinged, fun, and steamy. I really liked this one!
For the 4 vs. why not 5 stars, I think there were just a few small things here and there that might have benefited from an additional edit. There was also just a few things that I had questions on why it was even part of the story since it just seemed to be thrown in there to add more but then either never really resolved, not actually important, or was glossed over.
I enjoyed the book and I think that anyone who loves a darker, why choose, omegaverse would definitely like this one!
🫠 That man. Yes, Pack of Crooks by @rorymilesauthor is a Why Choose omegaverse. Yes, all the men(and Hazel) are yummy. But Maddox is Y U M M Y. He wins. That big neurospicy bear can absolutely get it. Whenever, wherever. 🔥 Ahem. Anyways. Yeah. This book was a blast. My favorite kind of cozy dark romance that I'm rarely able to find and its got all the signature Rory Miles stuff that keeps me coming back for more and more. We got yearning and guys fall first and wooing and pleasure overload. Delicious scents and creepy habits that should be red flags but have all turned green for me. A revenge plot line to take down a major dirtbag using masked vigilantes and corporate espionage for the win. It's all so good. 👌🏼 I think this might be one of my fave packs and while lots of themes were pretty dark, the book felt comforting. You knew they were all gonna land somewhere soft and safe and it was worth it. I'm so freaking glad I got the ARC for this and I give all the thanks to Rory. As always, I'm ready for more and can't to see what she does next.
Oh man I absolutely loved this book! The tension throughout the beginning will have you holding onto the edge waiting for the drop but man the connection between all 4 of them is on fire! I love Hazel's backstory and it tears at my heartstrings but the growth that she had throughout this book was so incredible to see.
Ezra, Maddox and Killian all bring a must needed connection for Hazel's that helps to give her comfort as well as letting her shine her own way. But at the same time Hazel gives these men an outlet and makes them feel comfortable enough to share their own damaged past with no judgment.
I love all the men but Maddox is definitely one of the top contenders! He is such a teddy bear but he can get down and dirty for sure! Absolutely loved this book and hope to see more from some other characters in the future!
Pack of Crooks is the second book in the For the Love of Villains series. It is a standalone, contemporary, omegaverse romance with dark themes, an omega thief, and three bada$$ pack mates seeking revenge.
This was a terrific read. I loved the storyline and characters, they kept me captivated and needing more. I loved the sparks that fly when Hazel and any of her guys, Maddox, Ezra, and Killian, are together. This book really has it all, action, intrigue, suspense, steam, found family, emotion provoking moments, intense scenes, and so, so much more.
The writing, pace, flow, and plot are terrific, as are the characters, character development, relationship development, storyline, storytelling, and world building. If you love omegaverse and dark themes then I'd definitely recommend this book!
Dark & cozy really is the perfect descriptor for this book. There are themes, life events, and topics that lands this on the darker side, but the utter devotion and love from these men gives us a really cozy experience.
I adore Hazel’s humor and inner monologue! She is snarky and witty while dealing with some really terrible realities. She continually delighted me with her thirsty and hopeful thoughts.
Maddox…. My dear Bear of a man… you have captured my heart. Between his gifts to Hazel and his continued efforts to surround himself in all things strawberry he has quite effectively barreled his way in and set up shop. Not to mention that physique… sign me up!
I absolutely loved Pack of Crooks! It pulls you in right from the start and then heats up quickly.
This dark omegaverse was done in my absolute favorite way. A sugary sweet romance with very little angst and then darkness surrounding them. It’s also full of quite a few of my favorite tropes including what I would consider a secret society.
While our FMC has quite a bit of trauma, so does our MMCs, some shared and some separate. The romance was so swoon worthy and you’ll never catch me turning down a good stalker romance.
Our FMC is also somewhat of a single mom but in a sister capacity, and the way her guys were with her sister? Omgs it was so freaking sweet. But make sure to check your triggers because the darkness that surrounds them is pretty dark.
This is the second book of the For the Love of Villains series, although it can be read as a standalone book. I loved this book. The storyline kept me utterly mesmerised, I honestly couldn’t put it down until the very last word.
Hazel is a unique character, I love her determination to support her sister while it seems the whole world is against her. I especially loved her pickpocket skills.
The men fall first in this book, which is utterly refreshing. I adored the lengths they go to in their own form of courting, or should it be called stalking. The whole ‘touch her and die’, possessiveness touches were perfection as was the MM, heat scenes and the masked men scenes.
Overall this is a phenomenal omegaverse book that is a must read for lovers of this genre
Pack of Crooks is a standalone omegaverse. It has two alphas and a beta looking for a very special omega to help with their plans. And a certain pickpocker might be just what they need.
I loved Hazel and her relationship with her little sister, Lottie. She has struggled to give her sister the most normal life since their mother passed. Hazel is definitely a morally grey character. It's a good thing that the pack that's stalking her is as well.
This story is filled with vengeance and a bad guy that deserves all the bad coming his way. It is also filled with funny moments, sweet moments, and sexy moments too. I was very excited that another pack and their amazing omega made a cameo in this story. Check out Nest of Lies if you haven't already.
This is not a sweet story in the traditional sense. However, if you are good with slightly dark possibly a little unhinged romance this is for you. I would still argue it has some sweet moments. They just have a slightly crazy tinge to them. I loved how much Hazel had worked to get by. Was it all legal no but she made sure her sister had what she needed. Often leaving herself behind to do it. Enter the perfect pack to compliment her. They came in and were smitten in no time. They saw how much she gave and made sure to meet her needs to. This has some pretty dark moment but if you can jive with the trigger warnings it was so good. So much great unhinged banter.
It's been a while since I read a Rory Miles book but it felt like I was never away! The first few chapters I wasn't sure how it was going to play out and then I got to Chapter 4. Then it was full steam ahead obsessed with this book and pack Lennox! When I wasn't reading this book i was thinking about it, dreaming about it and chomping and the bit to get back to it. And then I saw how long I had left on the book and then the dread set in. Ezra, Killian and Maddox was the best morally grey alphas and beta but boy did they do everything they could to get Hazel as their omega! I hope we get more from this world because this was 100/10!
Rating- 5 Heat- 3.5 Tropes- omegaverse, MMFM, revenge, insta love, touch her and die, morally gray characters Need to know- it isn’t necessary to read the first book before this one.
Why do I feel like they’ve suddenly become my knights in morally gray armor?”
Pack of Crooks walks a tightrope between dark and sweet. All of the characters are delightfully unhinged. Their dark pasts and trauma have shaped them into people that have a strong sense of morality but definitely don’t think legality matters. While their activities lean on the dark side, the MMC’s instant devotion, or maybe its obsession, with the FMC make their relationship sweet from the very beginning.
Pack of Crooks is standalone book that follows in from Nest of Thieves (I loved that characters from that book that popped up in this book). The book before this one.
Thief Hazel (FMC) is stealing to help take care of her sister - lottie. One stolen walker and a job opportunity that is right up her street led her to Pack Lennox - Maddox, Ezra and Kill. Who need her for her skills znd to help them get revenge. All of which started a dynamic between them all that was fun, funny and steamy too. Only behind all of that is a darker story that ties into this book. I loved Hazel, Lottie and the guys so much in this book. A cracking read.
This book is proof that a romance can be dark and sweet. Hazel, Maddox, Ezra, and Killian all have pasts that would give anyone nightmares. When pack Lennox set their eyes on Hazel, they saw no one else. Dare I say love at first sight? Hazel is a thief trying to make enough for her and her sister to survive. When she and the pack meet, the chemistry is off the charts! The spicy scenes had me sweating. I loved this pack and I am so happy they gained their hard-earned happy ever after. (The epilogue had me laughing) Read the content warnings.
Hazel, an omega left to take care of herself and her sister, is resorting to theft to take care of themselves. She ends up stealing from the wrong person and it turns their lives upside down. Thinking she'd get a job to make an honest living she never imagined she'd come across the last person she stole from. I loved reading her and her men's story and can't wait for more!
This Omegaverse book had a totally different feel than others! I loved the dark aspect without it being too intense. The fact that these are all morally grey characters makes this story so much fun! I love the guys and their immediate response to Hazel. They love this girl even when she doesn’t love herself. And Hazel herself is extraordinary. She will do whatever she can to take care of her sister and it’s so heart warming. This pack is one hundred percent meant to be together!
This omegaverse was a fantastic read as I really enjoyed the way the dynamics were between our FMC and the MMC’s. There was a story line that had me engaged and wanting to devour more and more of it.
The spice was spicy however I liked that it was evenly balanced with the plot of what was happening and how they all came together. The fact that the pact was chasing her but also were well aware of her sister and not just ignoring the fact that she was there was perfection.
Rory brings a fantastic story to life and had me engaged from start to finish!
OMG! Rory has done it again! I love her OV stories and was so excited to delve back into the world of Pack of Thieves. Of course we get some wonderful cameos in this book 🤩. I love how all of them are a lot psycho, but complete cinnamon rolls for Hazel. I also love the dynamic of her having a little sister to take take of. Fantastic read! Could not put it down!
I lo e Rory's stories that she creates and this one is just goi g to be another favorite. I love Hazel and the love and care she takes to help her sister. Love the men that give her deal to make her life better and theirs. The care tge have for her and her sister is just sweet. But it wouldn't be a Rory book with out so.e physchos.
