The last thing she wanted was to fall for a musician. Her great-grandmother did, her grandmother did, her mother did, and it made them seem like mere shadows to their men, even though they were just as good as them at singing.

But… She and A.J. were sure they were just friends until they had to share a house.

Slowburn - strangers to lovers - rock star x samba singer - they share a house, and he fulfills her impossible dream list!

Alexandra Saldanha has always known what she to be a great singer. With samba in her blood and MPB in her soul, she has been fighting for a place in the music scene ever since her father, one of the greatest singers of his generation, decided to destroy her opportunities after losing his wife, Alexandra’s mother, in a tragic accident.

After embarking on an international tour as the opening act for Vicious Bonds, Alexandra has a real chance to make her career happen. And everything is going well… until she agrees to share a house with A.J. Fortin, the band’s guitarist and her... best friend for the last 6 months.

A few weeks are all it takes for feelings to blur, desire to cloud reason, and for them to end up doing what they swore they would never do. But A.J. doesn’t date. He kisses a fan at every show and Alexandra... She doesn’t date either, she married music. But if that’s true… why can’t they stop being around each other? And why are they so jealous of one another?

This rom-com with a touch of drama will make you laugh, cry, and wonder just how long you’re going to keep burying your dreams!

I feel like this story has potential! The concept was fun and the writing was surprisingly decent for a debut novel. Some of my personal issues: 1) I had a very hard time following who all of the characters were and felt like none of the side characters had a proper introduction. (there were quite a few) it was almost as if it was a sequel and I was expected to know who everyone was or I missed something. (I backtracked believing I had) Along the same lines, I had a hard time following who was saying what. 2) I feel like the pacing was slightly off. I got to a part in the book that felt like it should have been the climax/climax of conflict and was expecting a resolution soon. Then checked my progress (was reading on Kindle) to find out there was still half of the book left. The book actually opens at that moment, and was an excellent hook, but I was expecting us to come back to it later on in the story. I felt like the pacing was dragging and I overall just started losing interest. Do any of these things make her a bad writer? Absolutely not. Do these things make it a bad book? I would say no. I have complete confidence she will continue to learn and develop her skills as a writer. These are just my personal opinion and I hope the author doesn't take this personally and sees it as the constructive criticism I intended it to be. You may love the book, these are just a couple things that I couldn't get past.
