Rate this book
A Small Town, Hidden Identity, Opposites Attract, standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author, Samantha Chase

They’ve been in an intimate relationship for three years.
They’ve just never met.

Will Campbell has been in an interesting relationship for the last three years—with a woman he doesn’t know. Every time he’s worked the kissing booth at a Sweetbriar Ridge festival, he’s been kissed by the same mysterious woman. It’s the same thing every time—a steamy kiss that leaves you wanting more and then a disappearing act. But this year? He vows to stop her and convince her to do more than just kiss and run.

Being mysterious is fun, but Sloane Donovan is tired of the kiss and run game she’s been playing for years. It might have all started as a dare, but now she wants more. Now that her sister is Sweetbriar Ridge’s newest resident, she has even more reasons to visit, and she vows that at the next festival she won’t run away after the kiss. But maybe she doesn’t have to wait until a festival to find the sexy man who kisses like a dream. Maybe she can just drive around Sweetbriar Ridge until she finds him.

With the next festival on the horizon, Will has a plan. But that plan goes out the window when he unexpectedly runs into his mystery woman. This time, he’s determined not to let her get away, so he does the only thing he can think of—kiss her. And he keeps kissing, hoping she’ll choose to give them a real chance.

I think Sweetbriar Ridge has just gotten it's last transplant Donovan in the form of a sassy little red-head with a kissing booth obsession- particularly when a certain hometown mechanic is on the receiving end.

3.5 ⭐

Choosing You is another sweet small town romance by Samantha Chase with the youngest Donovan cousin from Ft. Lauderdale finding a little more than a fun thrill with her kissing booth partner. Sloane Donovan loves her life- except her job or that all her friends seem to be moving on into new phases of life while she's still spinning her wheels in the same spot. So when she takes a spur of the moment trip to visit her sister and cousins in Sweetbriar Ridge, she also starts to wonder if she should stop running from her long time kissing booth crush and see if there is real potential between them. Will Campbell is a bit of a goof ball- great guy, loves his job and hometown- even if they still tease him about his bull in a china shop ways everytime he runs after his mysterious kissing booth girl.

Things get a little awkward to a lot hot and heavy (behind closed doors of course) very quickly between these two in a short amount of time- you know if we don't count the 3 years of festival kissing booths that Sloane had kiss and ditched Will at. They quickly realize that while their physical attraction and chemistry is on point they don't have all that much in common outside of that. Will's life is cars while Sloane loathes them, she loves the vibrant life of a big city while Will is all about small town living, among other issues but they both love having a good time and facing life with a light hearted approach.

I have some mixed feelings about these two- not because I didn't love the idea of these two together or enjoy how all the little differences between them actually made them work together more. My biggest peeve was their immaturity. Sure both of these characters are in their mid-twenties or so, and Sloane in particular admits her kiss and ditch obsession was immature and laments about that behavior but she continually makes childish decisions throughout the story, especially with her predisposition to just do the opposite of what others want or expect her to do. Will on the other hand while he started out understanding and sweet, he just starts acting like a pre-teen girl in how whiny he gets when dealing with the long distance aspect of their relationship annoying his friends, co-workers and me 🤪

They of course got super sweet and worked things out in the end, this just wasn't my favorite of the series. Now that all the Laurel Bay and Sweetbriar Ridge Donovans are all coupled up I wonder if Samantha is going to give us something for Hailey and Sloane's brothers that are still down in Ft. Lauderdale or if she has something else up her sleeve!

I really don't like to give bad reviews but I want to remember why I didn't like this book.

The author uses way too many exclamation points. I got an ARC so I'm hoping that the majority of them were caught during the editing process. The premise is cute but the two narrators were incredibly whiny and annoying. I just couldn't with them. He just expected her to drop everything and move there. And she had all these issues with being "flaky" and had nothing to stay for in Ft Lauderdale but kept fighting moving to be with him. She also "hated cars" which he is a mechanic and loves them. I just thought the whole thing was dumb and seemed like the author had a quota to fill.

I have only 1 book from this series and feel this could be read as a standalone. What I like about reading Chase's books are you know it will be a sweet small town romance with strong family ties.

This was not my favorite, the idea of an annual kiss at the kissing booth leaving such strong impression for 3 years just seems bizarre to me. 3 years later, they finally meet and figure out they were the mysterious kisser and their relationship went from 0-60 so quickly.

I wanted them to get to know each other and the reasoning for them moving quickly is because they have been waiting for 3 years just made zero sense.

Carly Robins did a good job with the narration and brought the boisterous Donovan family to life.

Thank you @brillanceaudio for of the audiobook.

Once again, the Donovan family strikes with an outstanding story that keeps you engaged and entertained! The sweet romance is a fun read with lots of humor and a bit of spice. This story starts with a kissing booth and ends with a happily ever after, but the middle keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering will they or won't they make it to the end especially with long distance being a major hurdle when neither seems willing to make a major move. There's a mix of insta-attraction, long distance relationship, insta-love, he falls first, small town romance and more. The humor will have you giggling, the spice will have you swooning, but the story will have you staying up way past your bedtime to listen to just a bit more! The narrator does an outstanding job of bringing the characters even more fully to life, so you feel that you are living through the experience with friends rather than just reading about a story. This series is one of my favorites and while you wouldn't have to read it or the original series that this one spins off from in order, you would be missing out on hours of entertainment and backstory that helps fill in the town, the people, the relationships and more. This is definitely a must listen series for me! Now, I just have to wait for the author to write the next one in the series for us to devour and enjoy!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Choosing You by Samantha Chase is a sweet and emotional addition to the Donovan’s series. As the sixth book, it continues to deliver heartfelt family dynamics, lovable characters, and just the right amount of drama and romance. I really enjoyed getting to know the main couple and watching their relationship grow with plenty of tender and real moments.

The audiobook narration was great—easy to listen to and captured the tone of the story perfectly. If you've been following the Donovans, this book definitely doesn't disappoint. A solid and satisfying listen!

The plot for this sounded so interesting…a girl and guy have kissed 3 years in a row at the town festival’s kissing booth but have no idea who the other is. However, the delivery fell flat for me.

Pretty early in the book, their identities were revealed and it was insta-love. At 25% in, they spent the weekend together. As the story went on, I didn’t think they had chemistry or much in common. For example, he restores cars and she hates cars. They both also came across as very immature and Will whined a lot about their long-distance relationship.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced listening copy in exchange for my honest review.

Overall, 3.5 stars, will round up to 4. This book was a sweet and easy read and is easy to pick up as a stand-alone without reading the rest of the series. The development of Sloane and Will's relationship was cute. Any book with a long-distance relationship will get brownie points for me since it reminds me so much of my relationship. There's not a lot of depth to this book, but it was a good palette cleanser!

What a story! The sixth book in the Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series is the best. A meet cute at a kissing booth, where neither knows the other's name, and this continues for years! Sloane is making changes in her life, and one is not running away after “the kiss”. Will she be the last Donovan to move to Sweetbriar Ridge?

An engaging, emotional, and laugh out loud moment. Sloan is sassy, Will is not perfect, both are a tad immature, adding to their charm.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I absolutely loved Choosing You, it was a sweet, fun, Hallmark small town, heartwarming read. I'm sad this is the final book in the Donovans of Sweetbriar Ridge series because I've loved all the Donovans so far. Sloane and Will are so sweet together. I love how their relationship pretty much started off as a dare/prank for Sloane to participate in the kissing booth at the town festivals but ended up a as a three year run of her anonymously kissing Will and running away, leaving him wondering who she was. They have to battle to keep their relationship going with the struggles of long distance and then deciding what's next for them. Every page made me feel. Every chapter reminded me that love isn’t perfect—but it’s worth fighting for. Choosing You is an absolute must-read.

What I loved:
💖 Characters with real vulnerabilities
🏡 Cozy, small-town setting that feels like home
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Strong family ties, familiar faces, and community vibes
🔥 Romantic tension with a satisfying payoff

Samantha Chase has done it again! This is another fantastic installment in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series.

Will is a festival junkie and has been manning the kissing booth for 3 years. Ever since the first, when he met the girl who kisses and runs. He wants to get to know this girl, but no one seems to know her. Until he meets her, Sloane.

This is a fun one! 4 stars

Will and Sloane have been dancing around each other at all of the Sweetbriar Ridge town festivals, where they connect at the kissing booth. When they finally get the chance to get to know each other properly, they're not surprised when they get along. But can things work out, especially with Sloane being based in another town? This was a predictable yet enjoyable story which I managed to listen to in pretty much one sitting. It was fabulous on audio.

I've enjoyed all of the books in Samantha Chase's Donovans collection! You can honestly read any of these books as standalones, but they are centered around a particular town. Characters from earlier stories do pop up, but Chase does an excellent job explaining how everyone fits together.

The audio version of Choosing You is beautifully performed by Carly Robins.

4 Star Review Choosing You (The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge #6) by Samantha Chase I enjoy my visits to Sweetbriar Ridge. This is Will Campbell and Sloane Donovan’s romance and it was a well written and entertaining read. For the last three years when Will manned the kissing booth at the Sweetbriar Ridge festival the same woman has purchased a kiss. He doesn’t know who she is but she intrigues him and he is determined that this is the year he gets to know her. This storyline was fun and I liked how their relationship progressed. I fell hard and fast for quirky Will and Sloane, separately and especially together. Of course the interference from Sloane’s family added an additional layer to the story. This is a feel good story that left me with a smile on my face.

Samantha Chase has done it again! I absolutely loved Choosing You, the sixth book in her The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series! Choosing You is a bittersweet book for me since it is the final book in this series. I can honestly say that Choosing You is an incredible love story, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, I was hooked from the first few pages, and it was impossible to put it down. Choosing You had my interest from the start, and I fell in love. I loved every moment on every page. Samantha Chase continues to deliver the incredibly written love stories that I LOVE to read and is a must-rush author for me. I love a second chance love story, the Sweetbriar Ridge setting, and the amazing characters, they feel like family! Samantha Chase does not disappoint her readers with all the feels in Choosing You and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love about and expect from her books. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, big loving families, and caring friends, who always support each other? Choosing You is a love story between Sloane Donovan, social media manager and Will Campbell, mechanic at Sweetbriar Ridge Auto Care. Sloane lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and has been coming to Sweetbriar Ridge for the town’s festivals for the past three years and has been kissing Will at the kissing booth. Sloane is not pleased with her boss and the assignments she has been given. She decides to head to Sweetbriar Ridge to visit her sister Hailey and niece, Layla. Sloane decides to go in search of her mystery kisser. As they are driving around Sweetbriar Ridge, they each spot one another. Once they meet, they are immediately attracted to one another. After spending the entire weekend together, Sloane returns to her home in Florida. I love the Will does not realize that Sloane is a Donovan. Conversation between Sloane and Will flow easily. I love the text stream between Sloane and Will. I love the chemistry between them. They decide to try long-distance dating; Sloane does not want to Sweetbriar Ridge and have to look for a new job. As Sloane and Will spend time together things change between them. Even though they just started dating, they feel like they have known each other for years. I love the heart-to-heart conversations that take place in Choosing You. I love the changes that Will and Sloane are willing to make to have a life together, and how their families help make their dreams come true. An unexpected plot twist puts their life together in jeopardy. I was so happy that Will and Sloane finally admitted their true feelings for one another, and they changes that they make to have a life together. I love the two epilogues that are the perfect ending of their love story and all the surprises that are revealed. I especially love the second epilogue and Will’s proposal to Sloane and when it takes place, and their happily ever after. I love all the changes that Will and Sloane make in their lives to have a future with one another. Choosing You was an amazing love story; I am so glad that Will and Sloane got the happily ever after. I loved all the surprises that filled the pages of this love story. I love how Samantha Chase always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. I am not sure how she does it, but Samantha Chase has once again given her readers another remarkable book. Choosing You is filled with all the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, plot twists, and surprises that I have come to love and expect in a Samantha Chase love story, I especially loved the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love that she writes her stories from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. I love all the characters in this series. I loved catching up with the Donovan siblings and their spouses. It felt like a family reunion, I enjoy all the interactions among the Donovan siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing and the descriptions of the Sweetbriar Ridge in Choosing You. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? Choosing You was a wonderful farewell to the Donovans. Highly recommend this beautifully written love story. Sloane and Will’s story is unique, endearing and fascinating. For the past three years, these two have only connected at community festivals by exchanging a kiss at the kissing booth. They kiss, she runs away and he tries to follow her, but ends up either entangled in people, knocking displays over or causing another mess that disrupts the festival. An upcoming festival may change everything since both hope to find the other, finally exchange names and actually get to know each other. Will’s search for her identity has made him seem the fool to his family and friends, but his heart is telling him the beautiful redhead and superb kisser may be his “one”. Sloane comes to Sweetbriar Ridge primarily to visit family, but sneaks back during festivals to get a kiss at the kissing booth from the man she cannot forget. Her family knows nothing about this visits or her kissing booth obsession, except for her cousin who first dared her to let a stranger kiss her after she endured a bad breakup.

Sloane and Will actually meet before the festival, quite by chance, but his initial reaction to seeing her is hostile and tense. When she finally gives him her name, Will settles down. A day spent in each other’s company leads to wanting more, despite both knowing that their together is limited since Sloane lives a thousand miles away and will be leaving again in a few days. They both feel the sparks, the connection and the deeper feelings they are afraid to admit even to themselves because despite exchanging fabulous kisses on numerous occasions over the past three years, they really don’t know each other well at all. Can they make a relationship between them work? Do they really want to be together?

Both of these characters are fascinating, quirky and so darn lovable. Sloane and Will are both very approachable, loyal to their friends and family, and ready to settle down. They have made some mistakes and missteps in their pasts, have even had the label of being flakey, and have done their best to move past that point in their lives. They are mutually obsessed with each other, but a long distance relationship is not what either wants. Sloane is letting her past, her fears and doubts hold her back from going all in with Will, while he is expecting her to make big changes in her life without him even telling her how he feels or asking her what she wants. Thankfully they both have friends and family to offer advice, encouragement and support when needed. Those moments are funny and heartwarming, though some of Sloane’s family are scarier or more intimidating than others (Ashley!). The conclusion of this book made me laugh and smile, just as a good romance should.

I am happy to recommend this excellent book.

CHOOSING YOU is the sixth instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult THE DONOVANS: SWEETBRIAR RIDGE romance series, a spin off from the author’s THE DONOVANS. This is social media manager Sloane Donovan, and auto mechanic Will Campbell’s story line. CHOOSING YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Sloane and Will) CHOOSING YOU follows the building romance and relationship between Sloane and Will. For approximately three years, Will Campbell has searched for the woman he met and has kissed in the kissing booth at Sweetbriar Ridge Festival but the mystery woman constantly kisses and runs. Having checked in with all of the people and town gossips of Sweetbriar Ridge, no one was able to help in locating the mystery woman but a chance drive by finds Will coming face to face with the woman who has stolen his heart. Sloane Donovan is playing a game of kiss and tag but refuses to settle down and reveal the truth. Sloane’s large extended family lives and works in Sweetbriar Ridge but Sloane has remained in Florida, hoping for business success until falling for a man she meets a few times per year. Without knowing one another’s names, Will continues to search until the day Sloane returns to Sweetbriar Ridge.

The world building follows the building relationship between Will and Sloane, as each struggles with their place in the world. Will struggles with the gossip and rumor mill perpetuated by the family he believes controls the town; and Sloane’s hatred of everything cars, threatens her ability to open to heart. Having watched her siblings and cousins find love and family, Sloane battles between head and heart, refusing to relive the rejection she has felt all of her life.

The relationship between Sloane and Will begins at a kissing booth, and continues off and on for close to three years. Never knowing one another’s names, Will is desperate enough to go in search of the woman with whom he will fall in love, a woman who apparently does not want to be caught. There are no $ex scenes, everything is implied.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of quirky and colorful secondary and supporting characters most of whom are related to the Donovan Dynasty, and have met in the previous instalments.

CHOOSING YOU is a story of family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is spirited and engaging; the romance is sweet; the characters are sassy.

Choosing You, the sixth installment in Samantha Chase’s The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series, is a heartwarming triumph that wraps you in the cozy embrace of small-town romance. This book delivers everything I love about Chase’s storytelling: vibrant characters, emotional depth, and a storyline that radiates warmth and hope.

Sloane, a social media manager, and Will, an auto mechanic, have an unusual beginning. Their story revolves around a building romance sparked by a mysterious encounter at the Sweetbriar Ridge Festival, where Will has been searching for the woman he kissed at a kissing booth for three years, later discovering it’s Sloane.

The characters in Choosing You are the heartbeat of the story. Sloan and Will beautifully crafted characters, each with relatable flaws and dreams that make them feel like old friends. The Sloane’s strength and vulnerability shine, whether she’s navigating personal challenges or opening her heart to love. Will, with his own struggles and growth, complements her perfectly, creating a dynamic that’s both tender and electric. Their chemistry sizzles, but it’s the emotional connection—built through shared moments and heartfelt conversations—that truly captivates. Supporting characters, who are familiar faces from previous Sweetbriar Ridge stories, add layers of community and charm, making every interaction feel like a warm hug from a tight-knit town.

The storyline is a delightful blend of romance, family, and second chances, set against the picturesque backdrop of Sweetbriar Ridge. Ms. Chase masterfully weaves a narrative that’s both lighthearted and deeply moving, with moments of laughter and heart-squeezing tenderness. The pacing keeps you hooked, and the “found family” vibe of the town creates a comforting, uplifting atmosphere. Whether it’s a grand gesture or a quiet moment of understanding, the story never fails to make you root for the characters’ happily-ever-after.

As a fan of small-town romances, I found Choosing You to be a perfect escape. Samantha Chase has a gift for crafting stories that feel like coming home, and this book is no exception. It’s a 5-star read that will leave you smiling, swooning, and eagerly awaiting the next Donovan adventure. Highly recommend to anyone who loves heartfelt romance with characters who steal your heart!

I received an ARC, for which I have a big Thank You to Samantha Chase for the opportunity to experience this wonderful story!

Choosing You by Samantha Chase, book six in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series, is an emotional, opposites attract love story, about family and friendships, gaining confidence, and acceptance and love.

Sloane Donovan and Will Campbell met at a kissing booth during a festival in Sweetbriar Ridge three years ago; with Sloane fleeing afterwards. She came back each year for the kiss, but always took off right after; never sharing their names. This is a small town where everyone knows everyone and half are related to Sloane but he couldn't figure out who she was. After three long years of sharing the best kiss ever, she is determined to find him while he is feeling the same way. Will decided since no one would help him find his “kissing bandit” he would find her himself. Driving around town he spots her. In town visiting her sister and new niece, Sloane unexpectedly finds herself trying to figure out how she can find this guy. They unexpectedly meet, in the street, talk for a while and decide to see how things go.

Sloane and Will are opposite in so many ways: she’s impulsive while he plans, but their chemistry sparks a sweet romance. The one major downfall is the long distance between them; she lives in Florida and he in Virginia. She hates her job but loves what she does and Will keeps telling her she could have clients in Sweetbriar if she would move there but she always seems to have an excuse. Their family and friends are getting tired of both of them whining about their long distance relationship; as was I as it went on too long and became tedious. They needed to make a decision: stay together and make it work, with Sloan moving to Sweetbriar and starting her own business, or break up.

This delightful story is about the two of them not only finding each other, but learning to open their hearts, grow, mature, and find out that following your heart is always the answer. Readers are taken on a journey brimming with feelings, relationships, and family interactions; saying farewell to a wonderful series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

I was so excited to jump into Choosing You and read Will and Sloane’s story because the premise was just so fun. Will Campbell has been kissing the same girl at the Kissing Booth at the Sweerbriar Ridge Festival for the last 3 years and has never been able to find out who she is? Mostly because they have a steamy kiss and she runs away. Who would have known that girl was Sloane Donovan. She doesn’t live in Sweetbriar, but now that her sister does she’s been thinking maybe she should make some changes. Is small town living for her and is she ready to move in a new direction?

This was a sweet story, very Hallmark-esque with mild spice and closed door scenes. Will is such a sweet Golden Retriever with a sunny disposition. It’s not that things don’t get him upset, but he really tries to be thankful for what he’s got . However, he’s noticed lots of friends settling down and he can’t help, but feel a little lonely. When he finally meets his mystery girl he’s all in to get to know her. Sloan on the other hand is at a crossroads. She knows she’s not satisfied with where she is at personally or professionally. Finally making the decision to stop running from her mystery guy gets her thinking if she should give Will a real chance? Could she be happy in this small town?

These two are so sweet together. It’s obvious they have chemistry and a connection. Fear and uncertainty is what holds things back for them for a while, but when these two break through their own obstacles it’s a beautiful thing. Sloane is smart, a hard worker and wants more in life, but she doesn’t want to be boxed in or stuck in some rut she can’t escape. Watching her open up to Will and face her fears really allowed her to step into herself. Loved seeing that! Will also never tried to change her. All he ever wanted was to support her in anyway that would bring her happiness. He definitely is book boyfriend goals. There were lots of laughs, some sigh worthy romance and a beautiful HEA. 10/10!

The premise of a meet-cute at a kissing booth sounded so fun to me, but unfortunately, this one fell flat. I received an ALC for book 4 in this series and didn’t enjoy it, but I wanted to give the author another chance. Sadly, I’ve come to the conclusion that her books just aren’t for me.

In this story, the FMC is visiting her family from out of town and attends a local festival. She ends up at the kissing booth and kisses the MMC, something that happens for three years in a row. This year, both characters set out to finally figure out who the other one is. It sounded like a great setup, but the execution didn’t work for me. They accidentally bump into each other very early in the story, before either one really starts searching, and to my surprise, the MMC was a total jerk.

The FMC also came across as pretty whiny throughout most of the book. At its core, this is an insta-love story, but there wasn’t much else holding it together. In one scene, when her mom questions how fast the relationship is progressing, the FMC basically throws a tantrum. She argues that because they technically met three years ago, their relationship is moving at tortoise speed. That logic felt really forced.

And while the book does technically end with a HEA, I honestly don’t see this couple lasting. They definitely need to spend some serious time in couples therapy. I won’t be continuing with this series, which is disappointing because the covers are adorable—but I guess there’s a reason people say not to judge a book by its cover.

Will Campbell and Sloane Donovan have known each other for three years – kinda. Will lives in Sweetbriar Ridge, and Sloane lives in Florida, However, since many of Sloane’s relatives live in Sweetbriar Ridge, she often visits Sweetbriar Ridge.

Three years ago, Sloane met Will at one of Sweetwater’s festivals where he was working at the kissing booth. On a dare, she kissed him and immediately ran away. Since neither of them said a word, they didn’t actually get to know each other. Thus, all that remained of their kiss was memories of extraordinarily, steamy, unforgettable kisses!

Eventually, Will realizes that he “needs” to meet this mystery woman who he cannot stop thinking about. He decides that the next year festival, he will chase her and get to know her. On the other hand, Sloane is just having fun and is too afraid to confront the man she has been kissing. So she runs even faster the next time.

By the time Sloane makes plans to visit Sweetbriar again and visit the kissing booth, she is looking forward to spending time with this man who kisses “like a dream.” And this time she suddenly decides she wants more than just a kiss-and-run experience. She plans to talk to him at the booth.
However, Sloane doesn’t have to wait for the festival. She discovers him while she is driving around the area. They finally meet and decide to give their feelings a chance to grow into something more series.

The couple instantly begin a long-distance relationship. However it is filled with obstacles, complications and uncertainty. Readers will thoroughly enjoy their journey as they respectively overcome all of their problems and still never waver in their love and respect for each other.

I really enjoyed listening to this delightful, heartfelt, and swoony romance! From the very first kiss, and then the next two kisses, Will Campbell has wanted to find the mysterious woman who captured his attention. He is determined to finally catch her at this years festival. Sloane Donovan has close family in Sweetbriar Ridge, and she loves to visit. It started as a dare, but she can't forget the man who brings her back to the kissing booth every year. She is determined to slow down and find her mystery man. Will and Sloane finally find each other and their chemistry is even more explosive as they get to know each other. Will is a mechanic who is expanding his business in Sweetbriar Ridge. Sloane works in another state, in a large city she loves, but isn't happy with her job. Will is all in on them being together, but Sloane is worried she is moving too fast into another situation she will grow to regret. Can a long distance relationship work for them or will the complications be too much to overcome breaking both their hearts? This was such a sweet and swoony romance! I really cared for both Will and Sloane and cheered hard for their HEA. They are both genuine and relatable with their flaws, vulnerabilities, and strengths. They fit so perfectly together, having fun, loving their family, and their passion for each other is off the charts! I also loved their friends and family who were all so funny, supportive, and meddlesome, making this story even more entertaining.
I am a huge fan of Carly Robins voice performances. Her voice is so versatile, and always a pleasure to listen too. She delivered all the emotion, fun, and steam of this story so flawlessly. She also did a great job bringing Will and Sloane to life, making me completely invested in their HEA!

This is my second book by Samantha Chase, and I'm hooked!
I am in love with this author's writing.
Want to make this review as short and sweet as possible without giving away any details!
The story gives us a small-town romance, a kissing booth, and long-time crushes.
Sloan is the FMC. She is happy but feels a bit left behind because all of her friends seem to be moving on and entering other phases of life. Meanwhile, she feels stagnant. Since she feels this way, she decides to take a trip to visit family and decides that maybe she needs to investigate a long-time crush (from a kissing booth, of course).
Will is the MMC - a sweet hometown man, happily living life with his friends and job. Will is also a bit of a klutz when it comes to a certain crush.
These two love birds have immediate physical chemistry - close-door friends, but have nothing other than the physicality of their relationship in common. They are two entirely different people.
I will say, this story plays off very young. The two characters are in their twenties, but they feel very young, specifically Sloan.
Still, a very sweet story. I think I liked the first book I read better than this one, but it was still a good book.
The plot is well structured. The pace was a bit slower in spots, but it quickly recovered.
The characters are developed for the most part, I do think they could have used some further growth that would have helped the reader engage with the story.
I would recommend this book for a quick, palate-cleansing read.
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Happy Reading!

This is such a sweet, fun, charming, and heartwarming story. I absolutely adore Will. He is not your typical hero, he is emotional, sometimes clumsy, and maybe not so perfect, but boy is he ever perfect for Sloane! And I love Sloane too. Being the youngest of the Donovan’s she has struggled with the ever changing dynamics in her family, ie: weddings and babies, because she is not at that point yet. She still has some immature tendencies at her age, but she is ready to change all of that. She is also vulnerable in so many ways.
She decides to go to Sweet Briar to see her sister now that she is living there and maybe this time she will actually seek out and meet her kissing bandit at the Kissing Booth at the next festival. She definitely cannot forget about him that’s for sure.
Kissing at a kissing booth for 3 years worth of festivals in Sweet Briar is how Will and Sloane meet. Well, not really meet, but they certainly get a taste of each other to which they both cannot forget. They literally have no idea who the other is though and Sloane lives in Florida. And her family has not let on to Will that they know it is her he has been kissing.
It is such a beautiful thing when they finally meet by accident in the street and decide to see where things will go. They are so opposite in so many ways but have chemistry for days!
The only thing that could be their downfall is the long distance between them. But of course we get a HEA because how could we not?
It’s just such a cute story. I really enjoyed it!

Quick Summary: A kissing bandit romance

My Review: Choosing You by Samantha Chase is book #6 in The Donovans: Sweetbriar Ridge series. The audiobook is scheduled for release on 7/29/25. It is categorized as "A small town, hidden identity, opposites attract, standalone romance."

About the Book: "They’ve been in an intimate relationship for three years. They’ve just never met."

In My Own Words: After years of engaging in a kiss and run situationship of sorts, a local good guy meets the woman of his dreams and pursues her with his whole heart.

About the Audiobook: This novel was narrated by Carly Robins. She always keeps things entertaining with her inflections and tones.

My Final Say: Any time I can read an installment about the Donovans, I know I am in for a good time. Will and Sloane's story did not disappoint. Seeing how they came together and how they chose to work through their specific issues proved to be enjoyable.

This was a simple, straightforward, lighthearted read. It was not heavy on conflict. It was knee deep in family matters and life choices action. All in all, it was an easy read.

Other: Readers who like small town romances between opposites should enjoy this story.

Oh goodness, there are so many Donovans in Sweetbriar Ridge at this point, we may as well just give them the whole town. Funnily enough, this is brought up in this book. Here we have another standalone in this series. Though it is better if you've read the other books just to get to know the side characters and histories, it isn't necessary for the main romance plot of the novel. This book follows Sloane, a Florida Donovan, who visited Sweetbriar 3 years before the start of this book and kissed a guy at a kissing booth during a fair. She proceeded to visit him during these events and ran off, leaving it a mystery for the guy, Will, who is determined to find this girl. Of course, Sloane is also enamored, but no one will tell the other who the mystery person is. Finally, Will runs into Sloane during a visit, and they hit it off. Except that Sloane lives in Florida and Will in Sweetbriar, and they embark on a long-distance relationship. I believe that this may be the most realistic of all the relationships that we have come across, though still in fast forward, because you have these two people who want the best, but don't want to compromise, and they really have to sit down and communicate openly to determine what's best for them. Ultimately though, this is a love story with several missed connections and a family that is supportive and massive. If you enjoy Chase's other stories, you'll like this. A mostly closed-door romance, with the HEA and more of the characters that we've previously met in Sweetbriar.

Sloane and Will just made me feel a lot of emotions. I adore how lovable Will is, and now that he’s found his girl, he won’t ever let her slip away. The problem they face is distance since Sloane resides in Florida, and I appreciated how it illustrates the challenges between them and how hard they ultimately strive for their love. I'm fond of this family, and Sloane receives lots of advice. You can't help but enjoy an honest conversation with Ashlynne, as she speaks her mind.
I appreciate that Will is open to advice and that Mac provides him with excellent guidance, revealing the strong bond of the family he has found. It began with a single kiss, followed by numerous kisses over three years - the problem is that Will has no clue about the identity of the person he is kissing. Thus, when the challenges are too great to face, he searches for the woman of his dreams, who happens to be Sloane Donovan. This charming and unique pair leads the reader through a journey brimming with feelings, relationships, and family interactions. Whoever claimed that just one kiss can alter your life for good had these two in mind.

Choosing You is an enchanting farewell to a beloved series. Sloane emerges from the depths of sorrow and walks into the brightness of affection. Chase discovers the hue concealed within the grey. She lifts the spirit with memorable characters, captivating romance, and unforeseen feelings.
