Her time was running out, so she returned home to say goodbye.
She didn’t expect me to lock the door behind her.

Slade returns to our Havoc Guardians family after vanishing for years. Her green eyes no longer have the light and spark of mischief I remember. Gone is the vibrant spitfire, and in her place is a woman who feels nothing at all.

As the VP, I’m the one who protects this club. It’s a role I take seriously; one I was groomed for. So, when it becomes clear Slade is our biggest threat, the smart move is to let her walk away.

But that’s not going to happen.

Because I’m Havoc’s defender. Her defender.

And when the threat of her life comes for her, I’ll guard her body.

And fight like hell for her soul.

Ummmm HELLO DADDY BANE 😍

If I could rate this higher than 5 stars… I WOULD!! 🙌🏻

Slade has quite literally been through hell and back and ended up back at the gates of the HG compound. A place she once called home. Ready to reassure her brothers she’s still alive and move on with her life to keep everyone she cares about safe, her plan ends up back firing when Bane snuffs out the truth.

With trauma looming over your shoulder, a god like MC VP watching your every move, a family of psychos out to get you and nowhere to run, what’s a girl to do? Fall for the insanely hot biker guy, release your inner demons and create the most epic love story, obviously 💁🏼‍♀️

This book makes you feel an insane amount of sh!t. Your heart will ache (like it’s okay to cry), your tummy will flutter and your body will be feeling the HEAT!! And you may or may not want to learn to ride a bike after 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

"I've used these hands to beat, cut, rip, and kill our enemies in order to protect the Havoc Guardians, our family. And I'll beat, cut, rip, and kill any of your enemies too, because they're my enemies now. Because you're mine, baby. You're my fierce, strong warrior. And I'll never let you go."

This book had me interested right from the prologue, and it never really let go. With serial killers, trauma, revenge, and resilience, this story blends intense psychological elements with a touch of dark romance in a way that really worked for me.

The writing itself is strong and well-paced. There are no large plot holes, and everything flows naturally from one moment to the next. What stood out the most to me was how the emotional trauma and healing were handled, it wasn’t dragged out for unnecessary angst, but it also wasn’t rushed. Everything felt real, raw, and vulnerable as we moved deeper into the story.

I loved how this book took everything I enjoy about dark romance and shifted it into a more psychological thriller direction, while still keeping that trauma-healing element at the core. The balance between danger, emotional recovery, and connection was done especially well.

Overall, this was a really engaging read that kept my attention from start to finish. A solid 4-star rating for a dark-leaning thriller romance that delivers on suspense, emotional depth, and recovery without overdoing it. PLus we can never get enough of the possessive Motorcycle heads.

A dark romance indeed! Jumping right into the book with no warning (and yes I skip the trigga warnings too). You get sucked into to a dark world in the best way! The MC brotherhood, the returing sister and a hell of a lot of morray grey characters!

The Havoc's Defender is a spicy dark romance about family, revenge, bikers, tension, trauma and falling for your brothers bestfriend.

What I really like about Lora Nox books, is that you get plot and smut!

YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!! Please read and pay close attention to the trigger warnings at the beginning of this book. There is some content and scenes in this book that are not suitable for all readers and could be triggering for others. Always remember that your mental health comes first at all times.

Tropes: Forced Proximity, Age Gap, She’s the one with no emotions and he makes her feel again, FMC is being hunted, MMC is a fierce, violent protector, Sexual re-awakening, “Who did this to you?”, Found Family, MC romance, MF romance, FMC is scarred, Trauma healing, HEA, No cheating, Dual POV, Touch her & Unalive, Mystery & suspense.

Havoc’s Defender is the 1st book in the Havoc Guardians MC by Lora Nox.

Vice President of the Havoc Guardians, a position he was groomed for, Bane never really felt he was one that would settle down with just one woman. For him, his comfort zone has always been about women, fun and the freedom to do as he wants. At least…until his past walks right up to his club’s gates and demands entry.

Slade had disappeared years ago, and now her unexpected return has sent Bane’s instincts into overdrive. All Slade planned to do though was reconnect with her brothers and then slip back into the shadows and disappear again. But, Bane and the entire club refuse to let her face any kind of danger alone – and suddenly Bane finds himself pulled right back into Slade’s orbit, like it or not.

I have got to say that this book took my breath away. I found that Lora doesn’t vacillate when it comes to the darker more intense themes, so you really do have to pay attention to the trigger warnings. I loved how vivid, emotional and immersive Lora’s writing was and I found that through this book I was going through each and every emotion right with all the characters – laughter, crying, hurting and even falling head-over-heels in love with both Slade and Bane.

Although I do have to admit that the pain and hurt that Slade went through and carried almost destroyed me but the fierce and protective nature of Bane was absolutely irresistible.

All of these characters carry such heavy histories and backstories, and yet, the story never loses its momentum. The chemistry between Slade and Bane is out of this universe and the intimate moments will blow your mind. There is such emotional depth to this book that you’ll find it impossible to put it down.

I did love that this book was longer than a lot of the other MC romance’s that are out there, and I was just enthralled by every word and I didn’t want it to be over as I didn’t want to leave the characters and the world that Lora created.

I promise you that if you enjoy great stories that grab your attention from paragraph one and enthrall you till the very end; this book is going to be a must-read for you. I can’t wait till I can get my hands on the next book and be back with the characters that I’ve gotten to know in this book and be back in this amazing world.

I love it, I love it, I love it!!!

The beginning, the plot, the ending everything! It was intense and I love intense shit⚡

This was a totally new concept for me I'd never read anything about motorcycle clubs in any of the books, this was my 1st time!! 💯 I love exploring new themes & found one I like 🤭. I like the banter & jealousy that's consistent throughout the book, it never bored me !! 😂

I literally felt the adrenaline within me when they were on the mission to expose the Slade's enemy's secrets! Slade's reckless driving had me on edge 🫢🔥

The connection between Bane & Slade is so sacred 🛐 I worship every ounce of it! She only feels safe in her arms & He's opting for monogamy only for her!!
Love the books where the Strong Fierce Women who brings Morally Gray Men to their knees in order to worship them!! 🖤⚡

I like the scene where Bane states:
"She's somehow gone from being a threat to the MC & someone I wanted to be gone -to- someone I need to keep close to keep safe." 🫠❤️

My favourite lines:
When Granger says "It's clear Bane, the psycho, is obsessed with you, Slade."
& Then Camber goes "Love. It's called Love" 😂😂 I laughed so hard on this!!

But.... But .. but hear me out "I'm more into Raffaello Romani & Pixer's chemistry I ship them religiously 🛐🛐 I need a book on them OMFG!!!!! The knife to the throat scene was to die for!!😩❤️

Also please judge me not 👉🏻👈🏻 I like the relation between 'Liam & Slade' more than 'Slade & Bane' Or maybe I just like Liam 👀 Who knows 😋

“When the threat of her life comes for her, I’ll guard her body. And fight like hell for her soul.”

From the very first page, Havoc’s Defender pulled me into a world of grit, loyalty, and aching vulnerability. This isn’t just another MC romance, it’s a story about coming home broken, facing the ghosts of your past, and finding someone who refuses to let you fade away.

Slade’s return to the Havoc Guardians MC after years of silence is devastatingly raw. Her once sparkling mischief has dimmed, replaced by numbness and grief. Bane, the club’s VP, takes it as mission to be her protector, her defender, and the man who refuses to let her walk away. The forced proximity and age-gap dynamic add so much delicious tension and spice, loved their banter. Lora Nox doesn’t shy away from the darker edges of trauma, but she balances it with moments of fierce devotion and soul-deep connection. The way Bane pulls those emotions out of Slade, much to her annoyance is a beautiful dynamic to witness. He sees her, he knows she’s created a hardened shell to protect herself, and he will do whatever it takes to empower her to fight and come out of it. The way he both soothes and validates her feelings is immensely powerful. She trusts him implicitly with not only her body, but her heart and soul too.

“Suddenly, I want to fall to my knees and worship her. Beg and plead her to never leave and to be mine for all of e-fucking-ternity”

What struck me most was the emotional authenticity. Slade isn’t magically “fixed” by love; instead, her journey is about being seen, guarded, and fought for when she can’t fight for herself. Bane vows to be her protector and anchor no matter what happens; it’s a declaration of survival and belonging.

This book is the perfect blend of raw MC grit and emotional depth, making it a standout in the genre. If you love romances where the stakes are life-or-death but the heart of the story is about healing and devotion then Havoc’s Defender is the book for you.

A huge thanks to Lora Nox and Epica Book PR for the early copy!

This is another book I've picked up by an ARC from an author I haven't read before. I liked the blurb and thought I'd give it a shot, with it being the first of the series, and I am so glad I did. From the get-go, it was action-packed. The characters I loved straight away are far from perfect, but they will protect those they love with all they have. They are flawed, but family is family, and if you want to belong to the MC, you look after those in it. That's why when Slade comes back to the compound, after years of not knowing where she was, they won't let her go. They can see she is hurting badly. Whatever she went through was bad, and when they see the signs of PTSD, it confirms it. But the one person who seems to ground her is the V.P. Bane, the person who wants to protect his Prez and those in the MC, from the fallout of having her back in the fold. Bane wants her gone, and fast. They don't need trouble on their doorstep. But his mindset is soon changed when he finds out some of what she is dealing with; now he wants to protect her at all costs. Bane knows he should keep his distance, but Slade draws him like a moth to a flame. She is his, even if she doesn't know it as yet, and he is going against the Prez's orders, but the draw between them can't be contained.

The story is fast-moving, action-packed, and steamy, and club loyalty is tested. Where old grievances and jealousy rear their ugly head, causing further tension in the club.

Can Slade be the person she once was? Or has too much blood flowed under the table? And has Bane realised what is more important to him, a life he wasn't looking for until Slade came into his life, and now that's all he wants?

Bane is the protector and VP of his MC, Havoc Guardians. He’s been known to enjoy women and doesn’t see himself settling down. When a face from his past appears at the gates of the MC compound, Bane’s guard immediately activates. Slade has come back to the MC after being MIA for years. She means to touch base with her three brothers and leave quickly. However, Slade doesn’t count on the MC insisting on helping to protect her at all costs.

This book was simply amazing! There are a lot of trigger warnings and they are not to be ignored. This is an extremely graphic and descriptive book. That being said, this is one of the best MC romance books I’ve read in years. It also satisfied the action and thriller lover in me. This book covers some heavy topics and it was so masterfully written. The story made me smile, cry, and everything in between! My heart broke for the FMC and swooned over the MMC. The MMC was so protective and it added to his sexy vibe! The characters are complex with deep pasts, but it doesn’t take away from the from the present. The spice level was epic! This story is great for readers who never want a book to end. It’s longer than most, and I loved every word. I kept checking my page count to make sure the story kept going. I was definitely sad when it ended and I honestly can’t wait for the next book in the series. This author was new to me and I’m ready to dive into all of her previous books! An absolute must read! *A special thank you to the author for an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review!

Bane, the Vice President of the Havoc Guardians, has never been the type to imagine a forever with anyone. Women, fun, and freedom have always been his comfort zone… until the past walks right up to the club gates. Slade’s unexpected return after disappearing for years sends Bane’s instincts into overdrive. She plans to reconnect with her brothers and vanish again, but the club refuses to let her face danger alone—and Bane finds himself pulled into her orbit whether he wants to be or not.

This book absolutely blew me away. Lora doesn’t shy away from dark, intense themes, so readers should definitely pay attention to the content warnings. The writing is vivid, emotional, and incredibly immersive. I went through every feeling possible—laughing, hurting, tearing up, and falling head-over-heels for both characters. Slade’s pain wrecked me, and Bane’s fierce protectiveness ? Completely irresistible.

The characters carry heavy histories, yet the story never loses momentum in the present. The chemistry is fire, the intimate moments are off-the-charts, and the emotional depth makes the book impossible to put down. It’s longer than most MC romances, but I savored every single chapter and kept checking because I didn’t want it to be over.

If you love stories that grab you from page one and refuse to let go, this is a must-read. This isn’t my first book by Lora, I keep reading her books all the time. Already counting down the days until the next installment !!

Bane and Slade🥰

Bane Black is the Havoc Guardians enforcer. Man of his words, loyal and ready to do whatever it takes to protect his bikers brothers. Slade Kawol, was secretly in love with him since forever. She left the world of bikers behind with her mother and disappeared from everyone. But now she’s back, and just wanted to say goodbye for one last time… but Bane won’t let her go again without any explanation of why and where she was all this time… what she will reveal will plunge him into a world he didn’t know exists. But it’s in his blood, to protect her and avenge her until all her demons will be dead….

The Havoc Guardian series is the newest one from Lora Nox after the Santoro’s series. All books are interconnected and I highly recommend to read it before reading this one. Be aware, there is very sensitive content in it so check the triggers warning.
Enough said.
The story between Slade and Bane is one of trust. Even after all Slade suffered, Bane want her trust more than anything. To bring her back from Hell and make her his Queen, his warrior, his survivor. Patience will be the key here and trust me, Bane have plenty of it!!! And when he finally succeeds, his reward from her will be her inconditionnel love. It’s a beautiful and slow burn love story. She is broken but he will be the only one able to put her back together again. To make her whole again.
I was lucky enough to beta read this book and the finished product is perfect. Thank you Lora for trusting me with your work and I will be forever grateful.

This. Book. Was. Phenomenal. I felt every emotion imaginable throughout Slade & Bane’s journey! Havoc’s Defender was such a vibe. Think Criminal Minds mixed with Sons of Anarchy filled with raw sexual need. I never wanted it to end!

The characters throughout the entire book - perfection. Every single one of them. They all made the story better in every way possible…even the ones I wanted to throat punch!

Slade. Wow. What an incredible FMC. 🤯 This girl had immense emotional, mental and physical trauma. Most would not have been able to survive let alone function. With her strength and the unwavering love & determination Bane gave her, she began to demolish the walls that trapped her emotions and finally began to feel. Those glistening green eyes finally began to shine little by little.

Bane was EVERYTHING! I had high hopes for him and he exceeded my expectations . The defender side of him was in constant play but then his soft side for Slade, ughh my goodness! 🥹 Being her rock and getting her through the extreme trauma she kept suppressed along with every other emotion she held back…it couldn’t have been written any better. 🖤

This will be added to my pile of Must Reread!

If you have not discovered and read any of Lora Nox’s books..you are doing yourself a HUGE disservice!!! She takes you on another level of detail along with the amount of raw emotion throughout her stories. Add all her books to your TBR!

✨ Havoc's Defender by Lora Nox ✨

📚 What it’s about: Slade returns to the Havoc Guardians Motorcycle Club after vanishing for years to say goodbye to her brothers whilst running from her demons. She didn't expect the clubs defender to lock the doors behind her and vow to protect her no matter what the cost. Because Bane isn't just the Havoc's Defender, he's now Slade's Defender too. When the threat of her life comes for her, he will guard her body and fight like hell for her soul.

💭 My thoughts: Anyone who knows me, knows I rave about Lora's first series (The Santoro Brothers), so I was so so excited for the first instalment in the Havoc's Guardians series, with Bane up first. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. At all. I was hooked from the very first page. I have loved all of Lora's FMC's (which is unusual for me as usually I don't click with many), and Slade was no expectation. What she went through built her into the absolute badass, sassy, rally driving QUEEN that she is. And don't even get me started on Bane. I knew I would love him from the second Lora put the tropes up. He was loyal, dedicated to her and her only. His relationship with Ace was perfection as well. How he broke Slades walls down; and was her only source of comfort during flash backs was beautiful. The action towards the end had me on the edge of my seat and I was screaming for Slade to push the pedal harder. Honestly I cannot fault this book, at all. Her sass had me in stitches, cumbrella's is now one of my favourite quotes in a book and what I will always think of anytime I get my lashes done 🤣. I loved that my baby (Vito) had a little cameo, and loved seeing Len & her team again too. Lora - you smashed it girl! Being on book 2!! Thank you so much to Lora and Epica for the ARC, you made my year! ❤️

5/5 story and 10/5 spice!! Absolutely fantastic read!!

Lora Nox absolutely kills every story and this one just broke my heart! Havoc’s Defender is blazing hot, emotionally charged, filled with family, and Slade gets Daddy Bane! She thought she could just show up out of the blue and say her goodbyes: he’s a protector and the VP so she’s not going anywhere until he’s ready. She’s deeply scarred physically, mentally and emotionally, but she hides it all behind an expressionless mask. Bane isn’t fooled, he sees her and as he watches her it’s apparent that she’s given up! Bane has the best presence: sexy, ripped, confident, and in tune with Slade’s change of personality. Slade feels him when he enters a room, he stirs her emotions and fears, but he also calms her back down!

I’m impressed by the level and range of emotions that Lora created and sustained. Slade and Bane together made me sigh, cry, and pray that they would find the strength to overcome all of the obstacles! It’s nonstop action and sass, tons of scary memories, dangerous villains, and her family’s associates who help everyone protect her while she heals and finds her center! I love, love this world of characters and all of their shenanigans!! I melted into a pool of goo every time that Bane said something Daddyish to Slade and then her responses made it even better!! Please more soon!!!

This book was so much better than I expected it was so well written, the plot was 👌. I couldn't put it down at all, the fmc Slade is so strong she's been through hells that are so unimaginable, she has learned to completely shut down her emotions after surviving a serial killer, she knows the likelihood of her surviving what's to come is slim so she goes home to her mc family to say goodbye, but the havoc mc does not turn its back on family, bane is havoc MC's defender and the only person that can draw emotion out of Slade, he's determined to do anything in his power call in every favour, there are no limits when it comes to saving his woman, as they build a relationship and Slade gets stronger and manages to tell the mc more about what happened to her and who it was that did those atrocities they begin to realise they're going to need more than a little help. They call in every resource and Slade has to face her demons with bane by her side.

Do I recommend this book - ABSOLUTELY - it was amazing I loved it, this is a mc romance with a twist it's not your typical romance. The author has packed so much emotion and feeling into this book. Please give this author a chance I'm so glad I did

This book is gritty, emotional, impossible to put down and so darn good. The characters grabbed my attention from the start and garner both my empathy and admiration. Slade has been through a harrowing trauma in her time away from the Havoc Guardians. She carries both physical and mental scars that have forced her to retreat behind seemingly impenetrable walls of emotionless numbness. Gone is the firecracker Bane once knew. When trouble follows her, Bane leads the charge in protecting her and the club. He is everything you could ask for in a defender. Fierce, confident, skilled and determined. His iron will and intimidating facade hide a softer side, one Slade gets to see and experience. He makes her feel safe, seen and worthy of love. He helps her find her the confident firecracker side of herself again.

Their story is action-packed, gritty and intense with a good amount of heat and steam as well. The bonds among the club members are evident.throughout this book. They truly are a brotherhood or family, with strong bonds of loyalty, honor and respect among them. They ride and die together, supporting each other unconditionally.

Fans of epic romances on the darker, morally grey side will love this book. I will definitely be reading more book written by this author.

Havoc's Defender is book one of the Havoc Guardians MC series. It will hit you emotionally and mentally in all of the best ways.

Slade is stripped of the fire she once had, and that emptiness is impossible to ignore. You can feel how broken she is in every scene, and that hurt seeps into your bones as a reader.

Bane is unyielding, protective, and absolutely relentless. As VP, his instinct is control, defense, and doing what’s best for the club. But when it comes to Slade, lines blur fast. His internal struggle between duty and devotion adds so much depth to his character. He doesn’t just want to protect her body; he wants to save what’s left of her soul, even if it costs him everything.

This story leans hard into trauma, survival, and the slow, painful process of feeling again. The romance isn’t soft or pretty; it’s raw, obsessive in the best MC way, and rooted in protection rather than instant healing. Nothing is rushed, and that makes every moment hit harder.

If you like dark MC romance with emotionally wrecked characters, intense loyalty, and a hero who will burn the world down to keep one woman safe this one delivers.

As always… be mindful of the trigger warnings. What I like you may not!

Happy reading!

Thank you to the author for the ARC — this is my honest review.

Havoc’s Defender was an enjoyable read for me, though not one I completely fell in love with. Lora Nox’s writing style is smooth and easy to sink into, and the story flows well overall. I did find some parts a bit repetitive, which slowed things down for me at times.

I really liked both main characters, Slade and Bane. Slade’s trauma is heartbreaking, and the weight she carries is overwhelming. She’s been numb for so long, unable to truly feel anything—until she connects with Bane. Somehow, he stirs emotions in her she hasn’t faced in years: frustration, anger, and yes, a strong undercurrent of lust that catches her completely off guard.

Bane is the quintessential Alpha—protective to the extreme, loyal, and determined to shield not just Slade but everyone in his orbit. His “touch her and die” vibe is strong, sometimes edging into over-the-top obsessive, but it fits his character and the tone of the story.

Their chemistry is definitely there, but for me it was missing that extra spark that makes a pairing unforgettable. Still, the dynamic between them kept me invested.

One aspect I absolutely loved was the found family element. It adds warmth, depth, and heart to the story, grounding the darker moments and making the world feel alive. I’m excited to read Army’s story next, and I’m really hoping Pix and Raf get their book.

Overall, a solid read with emotional depth, complex characters, and a world I want to return to.

Wow. This book was so good. Slade is such a complex character with her trauma, repressed emotions, just everything. Her character was written so well. I felt her pain and her struggles as those emotions started rising to the surface. I don’t even know how to do this book justice because it was sooooo good. If you enjoy characters who have been through the wringer or three, then this book is a must. Bane. Bane is everything I would want if I was in Slade’s shoes. He knows he can elicit emotional responses from her. He pushes her the perfect amount but never hesitates to be her safe space when she needs it. He is protective but also gives her space to find herself. Heavy triggers so please be mindful of your own mental health. This book is deep but worth it. I loved seeing the connections and cameos from the Santoro family. Although adjacently connected to the Santoro Mafia books, this can be read as a stand alone. The MC works with the mafia on occasion and they exist in the same world. I received an advanced copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Cannot wait for more stories from this world!

ARC read…5 stars…wouldn’t hesitate for a second.

Slade has survived hell itself—only to find herself standing once more at the gates of the HG compound, the place she once called home. Determined to prove she’s still alive, to reassure her brothers, and to finally move forward while keeping those she loves out of harm’s way, she believes she has a plan. But plans unravel quickly when Bane uncovers the truth—and nothing is ever the same again.

With trauma breathing down her neck, a godlike MC VP watching her every move, enemies lurking in the shadows, and no safe place left to run, Slade is forced to make impossible choices. So what’s a girl to do? Give in to the dangerously irresistible biker who sets her soul on fire, embrace the darkness within, and surrender to a love story as raw, brutal, and unforgettable as it is epic.

This book doesn’t just make you feel—it consumes you. Your heart will ache (yes, tears are inevitable), your pulse will race, and the chemistry will leave you breathless. By the final page, you may be left craving more… and wondering what it would feel like to ride into the night on the back of a bike.

Bane and Slade’s story is not a classic love story. It’s the gripping tale of their trials, trauma, and overcoming the challenges and trauma through love and support. Slade was raised at the Havoc Motorcycle Club’s (MC) property. She was kidnapped by a serial killer who wanted to groom her to become his puppet. An emotionless serial killer robot doing his bidding. He forces Slade to watch as he tortures and kills one victim after another. Slade escapes somehow and after learning that there is a price on her head from the serial killer’s family, she visits the MC to say goodbye. Bane and the MC leadership have other ideas. Afterall, Slade is family. Bane does his absolute best to help bring Slade back to the woman she was before her kidnapping.

The novel is a rollercoaster of emotion, non-emotion, and harrowing situations. This is the first Lora Nox book that I’ve read. I now want to read everything else she has written. I love a long book (over 400 pages) if the book holds my attention. Havoc’s Defender held my attention as it was well written.

I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Bane and Slade are the MMC and FMC in this book, which has more triggers than an NRA swap meet. The author has included an excellent trigger warning in the front matter of the book, which I strongly suggest you check out because if I were to list them all, I would probably be contravening community safety laws. Just be aware, because your mental health matters. Although the main characters DO NOT CHEAT, there’s discussion of SA, so I would not consider this book safe.

Moving right along…

I’m not going to say much about the plot other than Bane is the only person who can truly make Slade feel, and she also has his heart immediately upon them meeting again when she is an adult.

I thought this book was absolutely great. It certainly gave me all the feels- pity, empathy, despair, joy, hope, and satisfaction- and a book making me feel such a gamut of emotions means that I give it five stars.

Heat is EXPLICIT.

TROPES include but are not limited to He Falls First, Club Princess, Club Veep, Club Ho-Ho-Ho Drama, 1% MC, and a deep, deep love that thrives despite multiple challenges.

I loved this author since the Santoro mafia series came out and was looking forward to reading this book. I was lucky to recieve a ARC copy to review honestly.
This book broke me and put me together in the most beautiful way. Its full of emotions, action, angst and spice. I want to keep this review spoiler free for everyone waiting for it to be published. I read a lot of MC romances so i was afraid of what kind of dynamic there will be in the MC since some of them are not loyal to their wifes/old ladies but Bane (MC) as as loyal as they comw, he is obsessed and posessive in the most delicious way. I loved seing how the FMC fights to overcome her demons and its not instant, its a true fight for her to be able to live after what she went through. I loved the writing and pacing of the book, and i loved seeing all the different charaters involved in the MC and cant wait for the next book. The only advice i have is read the trigger warning carefully and clear enough time for yourself to read since i couldnt put the book down

4 stars.

This one drops you straight into the chaos with no warm-up, and honestly that worked for me. Slade comes back to the MC carrying more than anyone should, and the way she moves through the world feels believable. She is numb, exhausted, and just trying to stay upright, which made her easy to invest in.

Bane hits completely differently. He is loud, protective, and immediately locked onto her in a way that makes sense for both of them. Their dynamic is not soft or carefully built. It is instinctive and heavy, and it fits the tone of the story.

The found family element is what ties everything together. It grounds the darker themes and gives the plot something solid to lean on instead of just relying on nonstop grim material.

Overall, it kept my attention, gave me characters with actual weight behind their reactions, and delivered emotional moments without forcing them. It was easy to stay with and easy to finish, and I would continue the series.

Thank you to Lora Nox and Epica Book PR for the ARC.

"Suddenly, I want to fall to my knees and worship her. Beg and plead her to never leave and to be mine for all of e-fucking-ternity."

This was a book I didn't want to put down. I was hooked and invested in finding out what would happen. Before reading please check your triggers! This was my first book by this author and I will most definitely be reading more.
Slade has returned to the Havoc Guardians motorcycle club after vanishing for years. She only shows back up to tell her brothers goodbye. She's running from her d3mons, and knows that anyone close to her is in danger. But she didn't expect them to lock the door behind her and vow to protect her no matter what. And she really didn't expect the attraction with Bane.
Bane is the protector and VP of the Havocs. He never planned on settling down, but when Slade came back, it changed everything. When the d3mons from her past come for her, he vows to protect her with everything he's got and along the way he makes it his mission to help Slade heal.

Havoc's Defender is book 1 in the Havoc Guardians MC. This Bane and Slade's intense, gritty, emotional, dramatic story and from page 1 I was completely pulled into thier journey. This story is dark and filled with every emotion you can imagine and you'll feel every single bit of it. Slade has been to hades and back many times over and my heart just completely shattered for her. The pain she suffered, both physically and mentally, was horrific and on top of her own she took on the pain of so many others. She became completely emotionless and by the time she made it to the gates of Havoc Guardians MC she was totally numb. Bane is fantastic! The love and patience he has for Slade is beautiful and he'll burn the world for her in a heartbeat. This story will completely consume you from start to finish and I definitely recommend reading it. I also recommend this authors Santoro Mafia series if you haven't read those yet!

ARC Review, thx Lora Nox

Havoc's Defender is the first installment in the Havoc Guardians MC series and tells the story of Bane and Slade.
Both were briefly mentioned in the Santoro Mafia series.
I eagerly anticipated this book and wasn't disappointed.
Lora Nox has remained true to her writing style and has once again delivered a thoroughly enjoyable book. Emotions, traumatic experiences, suspense, action, and smut—everything a reader could want.
The middle section was a little too long for me, and the shift in Slade's character—from having to leave the MC to becoming Blade's "Old Lady aka wife"—was too abrupt. Nevertheless, the book is highly recommended.
Personally, I don't like daddy kink, but it's only moderately present here and is mentioned in the tropes. I also dislike tattoos on the throat and face, but that's just my personal opinion. I didn't deduct any points/stars for that.
