The Rift #3

The Kingdom’s Fate

Rate this book
My Fate.
Those were the words being whispered behind closed doors.
A secret that echoed down these dark hallways, like it held power.
I wanted to believe I was safe in this new land.
Wanted to trust the man I was losing my heart too.
Because the spell had been cast and love had weaved itself around me.
But could that love really conquer all?
Could it really be powerful enough to defeat our enemies?
Or would it only jeopardise the future?
For the Rift was calling me and I knew the truth.
That in the end, I would be the key to…
The Kingdom’s Fate.

Story : 5⭐️
Narration : 5⭐️
Overall : 5⭐️

Story : We have side quests....YAY!!! This book had me held in suspense, shocked, and total belly laughing!!
I loved seeing more of Ashers and Alexandra's friendship in this story! It was beyond heart warming how much they have each others back, and not just out of Asher's vow to protect her either.
The introduction of The Gorgon King is interesting!! I can't wait to see how that unfolds (insert excited shimmy.) Getting to meet Asher's family and herd was amazing. Learning some about his heritage wants me knowing more!! And of course we have the cliffy. This series is definitely one I am loving!
Narration : These 3 narrators continue to bring this story to life with absolute perfection. Ryan is the voice of the Gorgon King and had me melting!! Amanda, James, and Ryan do such an amazing job giving all the many characters their own voice and personality. I never have any issues differentiating what character is what.

Omg I seriously was not expecting that character to come in klutch!! Like seriously woooooweeeee! She has two kings that will do anything for her and she doesn’t even know it. Now I am wondering if she has 2 fated mates. Is that possible? Can she be fated for 2 kings? I mean that could be fun! Ok but I need the next book now hahaha!

Bluenose did absolutely amazing with this audio. Three amazing narrators and the timing and speed and merging was just utter perfection. Hands down love this company and what they do with audiobooks!!

Amazing book!

Please tell me thus series isn't done!!! I did not see a memo anywhere about it being continued, but I stayed up to almost 5am reading bc I couldn't put it down. If this series ends on that cliff hanger, I may have to adjust my rating. Please let my tired eyes have just missed the memo!

I received this ALC from Blue Nose Audio and I want to thank them for it. This audiobook was narrated in duet, really multicast with epic narrators voiced by Amanda Leigh Cobb, James Cassidy and Ryan Lee Dunlap. They all continue to do a phenomenal job.

I just love this series so much. I do not understand why more people are not talking about it! Do they know what they are sleeping on? Well, let’s fix that 😊

THIS BOOK… this is where we enter another world. This book picks up right from book two, with Atlas and Alex looking for a way to fix the rift. Alex has figured out that she plays a bigger part in doing that than they originally thought. With Atlas going back to the other side of the rift to try and stop what could be an impending war; Alex and Aster have their own quest to find an ancient artifact. The relic belonged to a god and the believe it will help them with the potential war. However, time is not on their side from the very beginning and Aster has a grievance with the King whose territory they must enter for the relic.

What… and the people they encounter there… I cannot! King Theron!!!!! I really loved the introduction of Theron. Can we make this book a reverse haram? I mean, between Atlas, Riley and THERON! Just that little bit of time with him and I’m thinking a new character love is unlocked! This book is ALL about the world building and character revealing. There’s little to no spice, but it’s not needed because we finally get to learn more about where Atlas and Aster are from and who is who – we get some long-awaited answers.

I am not going to spoil this series for anyone – I’m just going to scream from the rooftops, get this series and READ IT NOW! The cliffhanger on this one wrecked me! I felt my heart sink into my stomach, and I need book 4 now to pull it back up! Atlas…

If you like the following, read this book:

🔥 Dystopian/Apocalypse world
🔥 Strong FMC
🔥 Mysterious MMC & Golden Retriever MMC w/secrets
🔥 Human-like shifter
🔥 Found family
🔥 Diabolical cliffhanger
🔥 Greek Mythology-based

The Kingdom’s Fate (The Rift Series #3) by Stephanie Hudson & E.M. Ritchie
🎧 Performed in duet multicast by Amanda Leigh Cobb, James Cassidy, & Ryan Lee Dunlap

What the heck just happened 😭

This book picks up immediately after book two, with Atlas and Alex trying to find a way to repair the Rift before everything completely falls apart. Atlas heads back to the other side in an attempt to prevent what feels like an inevitable war, while Alex and Aster go on their own journey searching for an ancient artifact.
This installment is heavily focused on world building, revelations, and character development, and honestly? I loved that.
There’s no spice in this one, but it didn’t feel needed because we start getting some answers. We learn more about this world, and how much bigger this story actually is.

Alex continues to be one of my favorite FMCs because even when terrified, she shows resilience.
And Theron 👀
I really loved his introduction, and that one night scene with Alexandra was one of my favorites. I truly hope we get to see more of him.

🎧 The audio narration, was again OUTSTANDING.

Amanda Leigh Cobb delivered every emotion perfectly, the pacing, the nuances, the banter throughout the book, especially between Alex and Aster. Such a great job.

James Cassidy was absolutely perfect this time as Theron… as mentioned before one of m favotite parts was that night between Alex anf Theron and this narration was a reason for it.

And Ryan Lee Dunlap has such a strong, captivating voice that every scene he narrated immediately pulled me in.

What a cast. What a production. And THAT ending?? I need book four immediately.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5 Story)

🎧⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Narration & Production)

Thank you Blue Nose Audio for the review copy, all opinions are my own.

Another ALC is complete. I recently finished this continued Rift series as given by @bluenoseaudio in exchange for an honest review.
The Kingdom’s Fate by Stephanie Hudson & E.M. Ritchie
Book three, performed in a duet multicast by Amanda Leigh Cobb, James Cassidy & Ryan Lee Dunlap. Let me first say that having great voice actors for a book is vital to enjoying the listening experience, and these three are really great at what they do.

Without spoiling the books, this edition continues from book two, when Atlas, aka The General, and the FMC Alexandra are desperately looking for a way to fix the rift that got her mixed up with all this craziness to begin with. She, her friend, and The General's right hand have to go on a little quest for an ancient artifact that once belonged to a god in order to help get ahead of this brewing war. Time is not on their side, and Aster has a past beef with the King, whose territory they are invading for the relic that resides there. During this trip, the heaviness that had been sitting on their friendship lessened after Alex had tricked him a while back, breaking his trust in her. Can they obtain the object needed to help stop and win this impending war?

You will have to listen to the audiobook or read the book to find out. I highly recommend listening to it.

This series just keeps getting bigger, darker, and more addictive with every book.
One thing I truly love about this series is that none of the books feel like filler or simply exist to set up the next installment. Every book pushes the story forward in a meaningful way. There are no slow sections that make you want to skip ahead because the pacing stays intense while still giving us emotional moments, mythology, character development, and shocking twists.
This book gave us chaos, war, ancient mythology, terrifying creatures, heartbreaking moments, and the reminder that every choice comes with consequences.
The mythology woven into this world continues to be one of my favorite parts of the series. The gods, the ancient magic, the bargains, the visions, and the new characters introduced in this book made the world feel even richer and more dangerous.
Alex continues to be one of my favorite female characters because even when she’s terrified, she keeps moving forward anyway. I also loved the banter throughout the book, especially the dynamic between Alex and Aster. Those moments of humor and lighter interactions gave the story little moments to breathe between all the tension, danger, and emotional damage.
The narration by Amanda Leigh Cobb, Ryan Lee Dunlap and James Cassidy elevated the story even more. Their performances captured the intensity, fear, emotion, humor, and chaos perfectly, especially during the battle scenes and emotional moments. The audiobook made this world feel cinematic and completely immersive from beginning to end.
The final chapters were intense, emotional, and ended with one brutal cliffhanger that left me desperate for book four!
If you love fantasy romance this series deserves your attention.

Atlas who? My campaign for the Theron spin off starts now; Ryan Lee Dunlap had me swooning all over the place! Chapter 25 had me in absolute stitches; all three narrators had me cracking up. Unfiltered Alex may be my new favourite Alex; Amanda Leigh Cobb's delivery was so perfect. I've already gone back and listened to it twice!

I'm not usually a fan of when characters are separated for great periods of time but I do love a quest so wasn't too mad about Alex and Aster's side mission. I didn't really feel the absence of Atlas as much as I thought I would; Alex is a capable FMC and although she made a couple of questionable choices, I am enjoying her journey and how confident she is becoming. The found family element has been my favourite part of this series so far and I loved Aster and Alex's bond developing. Little Bull may just be the cutest thing I have heard in a while; James Cassidy's bashful Aster was a real highlight although his banter with Alex was a lot of fun.

There's an action packed finale to deal with and I'm intrigued to see where book four goes. There are a few loose plot threads so anything could happen at this point!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Book 3 was action-packed! Staying in character, we see Alexandra & Aster really dive back into a world of monsters and mysteries. I loved diving deeper into Aster and his minotaur storyline and how it helped plot the next steps toward Atlas.

If you're looking for any Atlas and Alex spice, chemistry or banter - it's not this book. This book is all about Alexandra and her getting to her man. This gave me the end of the Plated Prisoner series when there was a lot of the plot separated, but where it's different, we are just in the dark about what is happening to Atlas, as Alexandra is.

I am a bit confused about what is going on with Riley right now and what was revealed with this side of the story. I understand what happened to him, but not necessarily what that means moving forward. I don't want to spoil it or say the wrong thing, but I just think I got lost in some dialogue. It's likely a me problem.

I really loved the introduction for Theron. That one night was probably one of my favourite scenes of Alexandra and her vulnerable side. I think Theron gives off MMC vibes (but I don't want him for Alexandrea, obviously), so are we going to get a story for him? I think he deserves the BIGGEST love.

That cliffhanger was not quite what I was expecting. But to be honest, this whole book was different from what I was getting from the first two books. A lot more action, and not much for romance. Just a lot of confusion & pining. But I am optimistic that we will get answers in book 4 - which I will be going feral for when it comes out.

Justice for Theron!

Thank you to BNA for letting me dive into this world with each release.
The cast is SO good, and we got more of Ryan in this one, and he was fantastic. I missed James as Atlas, but he didn't disappoint. He never does. Amanda is really in her element with Alexandra, and throughout all of the action in this book, I felt like I was right there with her. I know I mentioned in book 1, I felt more like I was being read a story at the beginning - but I don't feel that at all now. I am in the depths of myths and monsters and lost in labyrinths. Amazing listen!

The Kingdom's Fate by Stephanie Hudson really said “you’re gonna WORK for this reunion” because whew… the journey to get there was INTENSE 😭

And honestly? Aster is slowly becoming my favorite lol.

This book definitely focused more on the relationship building between Aster and Alex, and I actually appreciated that. The trust is there… but it’s also tipping a little, and they really had to work through that tension and uncertainty together.

Now Alex… girl PLEASE 😩 She irritated me at points because sometimes all she had to do was listen to somebody other than herself for two seconds and maybe—JUST MAYBE—it would help the situation. But at the same time, I get why she reacts the way she does considering everything happening around her.

The story is definitely moving things forward though and at this point… BRING BACK ATLAS!! Immediately!!

And that cliffhanger? Not surprising at all, but I still sat there and said out loud, “DANGIT!” because now I need the next book ASAP.

Overall, this was a strong continuation with great character development, tension, and enough chaos to keep me invested the whole way through.

Thank you to Bluenose Group for this ALC!

What a journey……

Book three of The Rift Series, The Kingdom’s Fate written by Stephanie Hudson and E. M. Ritchie, is filled with action and intrigue. Alexandra is finding her way to get answers. However, dark forces are doing their best to disrupt Alex’s quest.

The flow and pace had me engaged consistently throughout this book as I went on this adventure too. My favourite, is the twists and turns Aster and Alex encounter as they navigate the………you’ll have to read to find out. So good!

The performances from Amanda Leigh Cobb, Ryan Lee Dunlap and James Cassidy compliment each other, all are a delight to listen to.The sections of humour within the darker moments are delivered with excellent timing and tone.

Thank you Stephanie Hudson and E. M. Ritchie for another gripping addition to The Rift Series. You have certainly left me wanting more.

Thank you Blue Nose Audio for the opportunity to dive into this entertaining advanced listener copy of The Kingdom’s Fate.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:

Story - ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5
Spice - .5
Narration - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Kingdom's Fate is book #3 in the Rift series. Let me start with this one ends in, yes, another cliffhanger. Frustrating, but I'm so into this story, I'm okay with it. There are so many interesting pieces to the story line: battles, adventure, and danger...gah, I was bingeing this one into the early morning. Alex, Aster, and Theron (new character that I love) are trying to reach Atlas but need a relic before they do. I especially liked the banter between Alex and Aster. This exciting tale really amped up this series for me as each installment gets better and better. I can't wait for book #4!!

The duet/multicast narration was phenomenal...again. James Cassidy, Ryan Lee Dunlap, and Amanda Leigh Cobb knocked it out of the park bringing all their characters (sadly, not Atlas) to life. Loved their performance. 5/5 stars! 🌟

I had to go look when the next book was out after that cliffhanger - the biggest one in the series so far! I'm still enjoying this series, love the world, the story and characters but I'm personally not a fan of the main characters being separated for a whole chunk of a book or the entire book, I know it makes sense for the story but I do end up thinking "chop chop - get on with reuniting already" - that said at just about the point I was musing over if we'd even see Atlas in this book at all the plot went in a certain direction that I quite enjoyed and if this series ends up being why choose by the end I'd be totally ok with that, it probably won't with Atlas and Alex being fated mates and it maybe not fitting with the whole story but I'd still be ok with it, on the flip side of that I really do hope there isn't a sacrifice a la Shadows So Cruel by Liv Zander (IYKYK) as I'd be absolutely gutted.

With each book the story becomes more involved. This one has more world building, new creatures, a labyrinth, armies, and a stone King. Atlas and Alex hit a point in their journey where they have to part ways. Atlas must return through The Rift and he does not think its safe for Alex to follow. Aster takes on protecting Alex and their friendship grows past how they lied to each other. They have to seek out an artifact that ends with a bargain. Their journey into The Rift begins. Can they catch Atlas in time?
The ending.....another cliffhanger, so be ready!

Audio: Amanda Leigh Cobb, James Cassidy and Ryan Lee Dunlap continue to voice these characters with ease. They keep your attention and leave you wanting to know more. Amanda and Ryan are more prevalent in this story and they do not disappoint!

3.5 stars rounded up

The Kingdom’s Fate is the third book in the Rift series, and this one definitely felt like the bridge between the major conflicts and whatever chaos is coming next.

The pacing shifts quite a bit compared to the previous books, and at times it felt like that episode in a TV series right before the huge finale. The quieter one that’s more focused on setting pieces into place and building tension for what’s coming.

The audiobook performances kept me invested even during the slower moments. Their narrations really help sell the emotional depth and vulnerability of these characters.

This book may feel more transitional in the overall series arc, but it’s clearly laying groundwork for bigger things ahead, and after that ending, I know I’ll still be continuing the series.

This book is dark, emotional, intense, and completely addictive from the very first chapter.

The world-building is rich and immersive, the stakes are higher than ever, and the characters? Ugh… I felt everything. The tension, the power struggles — it all hits hard. Every choice has consequences, and you can feel the weight of them on every page.

This story is packed with:
🔥 Dark fantasy vibes
🔥 Powerful romance
🔥 War, fate, and impossible choices
🔥 Twists that had me yelling at my book

By the end, I was emotionally wrecked in the best way and already desperate for the next one. If you love fantasy romance with depth, danger, and heart, you NEED this book in your life.

5 stars all day. I need the next book ASAP.

This was a wild ride! I was not expecting to like it as much as I did but this series just gets better with each book.

Alex can’t catch a break but it doesn’t sway her from mission at all. She’s building up quite a following too, and some of them were giving “I want her vibes” in a big way. The narration was perfect. Honestly I think it’s one of the reasons why I kept going with this series because I wasn’t fully invested when the first book ended. I am now tho. Also can we please talk about that ending. I thought I was listening to a trilogy and when that ending came around it threw my jaw on the ground. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Thank you Blue Nose audio for the opportunity to listen to this.

Audiobook - 5/5

The Rift series has me in a freaking CHOKEHOLD!!! These cliffhangers are absolutely ruining my life because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS - at the end of The Kingdom’s Fate, when I heard “Thank you for listening…” I was DISTRAUGHT.

IS OUR MAN OKAY?

I understand that I have to wait for the fourth book, but WHY? I am developing a love/hate relationship with this series (not really lol) all because of the way each book ends leaving me unknowing and speechless!

In reality, I absolutely love this series and I’m eating it up book by book.

This is the third book on the rift series and is action packed and follows Alex as she attempts to save Atlas from a war he is about to make for a wrong reason.

My favourite part of this book was honestly the friendship between Alex and Aster and omg I love them so much the banter they have and the protection they have for each other.

Amanda Leigh Cobbs, Ryan Lee Dunlap & James Cassidy are so fantastic in this audio book series all the different character voices are all so different and each time a new character is introduced I am just blown away.

I can’t wait for this next book because that ending I need to know what’s next!!!

Whew! Can we say holy hell?

I have to give these two credit. They certainly like to keep the heart pounding! Riley is pretty much screwed at the moment, I’m really curious what his fate will be. Alex decides she must go through the Rift after Atlas, hoping to get to him before he does the unthinkable and ends his brother’s life.
Aster, having sworn to protect Alex, decides he will go with her and together they will find a way to reach Atlas before it is too late.
May can’t get here fast enough!!!!

Ok this series just continues to impress me. I really like the story and the world building with this. The flow is nice and I like that each book isn't super long. Just long enough to hook you and keep you hyped for the next book!
Amanda Leigh Cobb, James Cassidy, & Ryan Lee Dunlap did a great job with the audiobook. They do an amazing job drawing you in and telling the story.

God dangit

This has been a ride, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. The beginning of this story grabbed a hold of you from the very beginning and has drug you quite literally through the whole turmoil.

Heartache, love, loss, torture, new friends ... I could just keep going on the endless things that are in this story. I have not had a single dull moment to stop... If I wasn't trying my hardest to wait for the next ALC I would have finished this whole series in a couple of days.

Alexandra bad ass FMC, humorous, strong sometimes stupid 😂

Aster great friend ... Courageous man

The other king ... So pretty 😍

But ATLAS IS WHO WE ARE HERE FOR ...

AND AGAIN THREW ME RIGHT OFF THE DAMN CLIFF!!!

Ok Liz and Steph you are totally responsible for my therapy bill due to that ending! I am glad I went in knowing there was another book coming as that was brutal. Really enjoyed this apocalyptic story which gave me Indiana Jones vibes. This series is a wild ride. This has Stephanie Hudson's classic humour which had me giggling and laughing out loud. I am glad that I delayed reading this knowing that the next one is not too far away.

I loved this story so much! I couldn't stop listening! The cliffhanger! Now I really need book 4. The narrators (Amanda Leigh Cobb, James Cassidy, and Ryan Lee Dunlap) did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life again!

I would recommend it to anyone who likes dark fantasy romances, dystopian books, banter, chemistry, and wants a slow burn.

I like Theron

Would not have been upset to find out this was why choose... If it went that way.
This girl... Always saying odd stuff... She did not grow out of the embarrassing phase. Under the influence even more cringe haha. Don't get me wrong I like her but it's painful at times.
Another great narration by the three narrators.
