English During the High and late Middle Ages, the courtly tournament represented a central point in knightly culture. The Habsburg ruler Emperor Maximilian I led tournaments and knightly culture to their final heyday. The exhibition and the accompanying catalog display numerous costly objects from one of the most important collections of arms in the the Arms and Armor Collection of the Art-Historical Museum in Vienna.
