Look no further. Heather Dolland Tamam’s Create Your Own Table provides the insight and guidance you need to identify your “what” and shows you step by step how to make it happen.

I liked this book for its simple tone yet powerful message and impact.
Heather's writing inspires you to stop waiting for the right moment and create your own opportunities. Heather has also provided actionable steps for that from her personal experiences.

There's a powerful reminder in chapter 2 that has stuck with me which also sums up the core message of this book -- "If you take nothing else from this book, take this. Your life is not fixed. Your blocks are not permanent. You have the ability to rewire your mind, rewrite your story, and reimagine what’s possible. All it takes is the willingness to believe that change is possible—and the commitment to start, one night at a time."

A must read motivational book who anyone who feels stuck.

Heather Dolland Tamam’s Create Your Own Table feels like a quiet conversation with a wise friend who has walked the same path of self-doubt and rediscovery. The concept of not just waiting for someone else’s invitation, but building your own table, resonates deeply. Many of us constantly show up for everyone but ourselves, and this book is a reminder that fulfillment begins when we honor our intuition and passion. Heather’s four pillars provide not just inspiration but practical direction—giving permission to pivot when life no longer fits. Reading this felt like exhaling after years of holding my breath.

This book arrived in my life at just the right time. I’ve been feeling accomplished in the traditional sense—good job, responsibilities met—but something has always felt missing. Heather’s words felt like she was speaking directly to me. She challenges us to stop living by other people’s definitions of success, and instead listen to that quiet voice asking, “What about me?” The structure of the book, centered around intuition, purpose, clarity, and freedom, gave me a roadmap I didn’t realize I needed. It’s empowering, honest, and beautifully written.

Create Your Own Table isn’t about small adjustments; it’s about a total shift in perspective. Heather Dolland Tamam writes with such raw honesty that it’s impossible not to reflect on your own life while reading. I loved her metaphor of building your own table—it’s fresh, powerful, and unforgettable. So many women will relate to the frustration of following all the rules yet still feeling unfulfilled. Heather gives us permission to step off that path and carve out something authentic. This book is equal parts comfort and challenge, which makes it truly transformative.

I’ve read plenty of self-help and purpose-driven books, but this one feels different. Heather doesn’t talk down to her readers; she walks alongside us, sharing the wisdom of experience. The four pillars she outlines—intuition, why, clarity, and freedom—are explained in such an accessible and heartfelt way that I found myself jotting down notes I’ll return to again and again. What touched me most was her emphasis on pivoting when your vision no longer fits. Too often we feel trapped by past choices, but Heather shows us how to reframe that as growth.

Heather Dolland Tamam’s book is not just motivational—it’s liberating. She dismantles the idea that success is something given to you by others and makes a compelling case for defining success on your own terms. I loved how she weaves personal truth with universal lessons. There’s such a sincerity in her writing that makes it approachable while still deeply impactful. The part that stuck with me most was her reminder that pivoting is not weakness but wisdom. It gave me a level of permission I didn’t realise I was seeking.

Heather Dolland Tamam has the rare gift of blending encouragement with a call to action. Too often, books about purpose feel vague or abstract, but *Create Your Own Table* is incredibly grounded. The metaphor of building your own table isn’t just symbolic—it’s actionable. You start asking yourself: what “legs” are holding up my life? And am I choosing them, or are they chosen for me? This book is about asking the questions we’re too afraid to ask and finally choosing an answer that feels like home.

This book is more than a motivational pep talk—it’s a bold invitation to reclaim agency over your life. Heather’s stories and insights are rooted in lived experience, which makes her advice feel both practical and profound. As a reader, I especially valued the emphasis on *clarity in the questions you were born to answer.* That phrase alone lights something up inside. For anyone who feels they’ve checked all the boxes yet still feel empty, this book is essential reading. It’s empowering and refreshingly genuine.

Create Your Own Table is beautifully written and brimming with truth. Heather challenges us to pause and actually listen to our intuition—the wisdom we usually silence. Her ability to blend personal storytelling with broader lessons makes the book engaging and relatable. I especially resonated with her reflections on “the fire behind your why.” It made me reflect on what really drives me, not just what I’ve been told *should* drive me. For anyone seeking meaning beyond surface-level success, this book is a gift.

Reading Create Your Own Table felt like being handed a permission slip—to pause, to reflect, and to dream bigger. Heather writes with warmth but also with conviction, pushing us to stop waiting for approval and start writing our own definitions of success. The freedom she describes doesn’t come from someone giving us a seat; it comes from building from scratch. That’s a thought that will stay with me long after the last page. Truly, this book has the potential to change the way women approach their lives.

I part that I loved most from this book is the lesson on authenticity. The line that has deeply struck with me and gave me a new perspective to look at my imperfections is "People don't connect with perfection, people connect with realness."
What a powerful and valuable lesson to carry. Author has shared her personal experiences of insecurities which makes the lesson even more convincing and relatable.

Reading Heather’s book was like holding up a mirror. I realized how often I’ve been living for others—being the dependable one, the achiever, the one who “has it all together.” Inside though, there’s been this ache for something more authentic. Create Your Own Table helped me see that longing for more doesn’t mean failure; it means alignment is waiting to happen. The imagery of constructing *my* table, piece by piece, has stayed with me. This book filled me with both courage and relief.

Create Your Own Table is a love letter to every woman who’s ever quieted her own needs for the sake of being “responsible.” Heather offers a roadmap back to ourselves with compassion but also with urgency. She doesn’t sugarcoat the discomfort of stepping away from the life others expect of you. Instead, she points to the freedom and fulfillment waiting when we tune into our intuition and reawaken our “why.” It’s part guidebook, part manifesto, and absolutely part soul-reset.

I loved how compassionate yet firm Heather’s writing is. She acknowledges how much women carry for others, but she also refuses to let us hide behind that forever. Her four pillars of purpose are explained with such clarity that they feel both spiritual and practical at the same time. This is the kind of book I wish I had five years ago when I was stuck in an unfulfilling routine. It feels like a companion for anyone navigating a turning point.

Heather’s book is perfect for those moments when you know something in your life doesn’t feel right but you can’t put it into words. She gives shape to that restlessness. I felt so seen while reading. The message that fulfillment isn’t about being given a seat at an existing table, but instead creating your own, flipped a switch inside me. It’s brave, affirming, and an important reminder that we always have a choice. This is more than self-help—it’s self-liberation.

This book delivers both a wake-up call and a hug. Heather Dolland Tamam speaks deeply to women who have been stretched thin, giving to others but ignoring their own spirit. I loved her use of the four pillars—not as rigid rules, but as guiding lights you can return to whenever you drift off course. My favorite aspect was her openness about pivoting. That lesson alone gave me so much courage to rethink the path I’m on. Honest, empathetic, and full of power.

Create your own table is an encouraging book. Writing is so warm that the lessons feels like a friendly advice rather than heavy.

If you're feeling struck and want to take control of your life, actively create opportunities for yourself instead of just passively waiting for them to knock your doors, then this book should be your next read.

It's motivating and inspiring.

A key takeaway from this book is overcoming self-imposed limitations and within "Perfection Is Where Dreams Go To Die" a profound message is delivered. It powerfully argues that waiting for flawless results often leads to paralysis stopping important actions from ever happening. I recommend this if you are stuck waiting for the perfect moment to start.

One of the chapters "Perfection is where dreams go to die" has become my absolute favourite. It reminded me progress matter than Perfection. "Done is always better than perfect because perfection doesn't exist". This was a much needed powerful reminder. It's a simple lesson that moving forward is what truly matter.

Chapters in this book resonates on a different level. They make you reflect on your mindset and experiences. For example the chapter on "Intuition" hits differently because many a times I ignore my gut feeling and regret it.
Each chapter feels like a mirror. You'll get a sense of being truly understood.
