🔥 A billionaire CEO. A haunted detective. A killer who knows their secrets. 🔥
She built an empire to forget him. Now he's the only one who can save her.
Fifteen years after vanishing from Nick Graham’s life, Jayne Stapleton is Manhattan’s most powerful fashion mogul. Flawless, untouchable, and hiding more than just her heart. When a string of murdered models threatens her billion-dollar brand, Nick, now a relentless homicide detective, is the last man she wants back in her world…and the only one she can trust to keep her alive.
As a killer stalks the catwalk and long-buried secrets claw to the surface, Jayne and Nick must confront the night that shattered them, and the passion that never died. But in a city built on illusions, the most dangerous lies are the ones they tell themselves.
Steamy, suspenseful, and emotionally charged, Model Behavior is a second-chance billionaire romance where power collides with passion—and the past could be deadly.
My books are steamy romances, filled with characters who haven't given up hope of finding 'Happily Ever After'. Except that sometimes it doesn't happen right away and sometimes it's hard to trust it will happen at all.
Finding love after heartbreak is a real thing. It happened to me, it happens to my characters and it will happen to you.
If you're anything like me, you're a sucker for a happy ending.
Blessings, Connie

If you like romantic suspense, you’ll enjoy this story. This is the first book in a new series about billionaire women. Nick and Jayne were high school sweethearts who went their separate ways after a misunderstanding. She’s a former super model who created a billion dollar empire that’s starting to crack. Her models are being murdered, one by one and the murderer leaves a signature scar. With her life in danger, Nick, who is a detective and her old beau comes to the rescue. Plenty of angst, danger and drama as they try to find the killer and keep her safe in the process. The book’s emphasis is more on the murder mystery and less on romance. But it’s nice to see them have a second chance at love. Well developed characters and an engaging story line. Look forward to the coming books in the series. I found it more suspense than romance. The suspenseful side of the storyline was good and kept me guessing as to 'whodunnit', but the romance side left me wanting more. I felt quite disconnected to the main characters, especially the FMC. And why the MMC was friendly with the nurse side character after her past actions was beyond my comprehention. There were quite a few times that the same sentence or phrase was used a couple/multiple times which I found slightly irritating and one chapter was duplicated with a bit more tacked onto the end of the 2nd instance (think it was ch 34 and 35). 3.5/5⭐️ I love second chance romances and I was awaiting the unraveling of the truth behind their breakup a decade ago. The truth is a chilling one and it seriously made me wonder why the perpetrator is still in his life!
This was my first time reading this author. The pace was good and I enjoyed the writing. Sadly, the editing seems a bit off as the chapters seem to jump from one timeline to the other without proper connection (and certain scenes were repeated), making it a little confusing to read at times. Some parts also contradict each other. For instance did they break up 15 years ago or ten years ago?
As this was an ARC copy, the editing could have been improved for the actual book. Overall, I wouldn’t mind reading another book from this author again.
Model Behavior is an emotionally gripping story of love, loss, mistrust, betrayal and second chances. The story was slow to start for me but once the characters took hold it was a book I could not put down. The entices and enthralls her reader with a story that builds with really good characters and storyline. The secrets and people that tore Nick and Jayne apart were ruthless and playing the long game. Their struggle with their feeling and emotions past and present are what brought this story home for me. The family dynamic and vusiness world were graphically depicted. The lengths that we go through to protect ourselves from pain real and imagined were really beautifully portrayed.
This was my perfect blend of mystery and live story. The characters were well-defined, the plot suitably twisty. One mystery remained at the end, where did the initial that signed the threats come from?
But if that's the only mystery at the end, it must be a well-written mystery, yes?
I look forward to there books in this series.

This was a good story but it focused more on the killer aspect rather than the romance. Nick and Jayne are a great couple and have good chemistry. Nick is the classic golden retriever MMC and the audience could tell that he was head over heels for Jayne even in the time they spent apart. Thank you to BookSirens for getting me a copy of this! Jayne and Nick are brought back together after a misunderstanding that tore them apart 10 years. Now, a threat is moving closer to Jayne and Nick is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her. The closer they get to finding out who is trying to destroy Jayne, the closer they get to their potential happily ever after.
