Revenge demands sacrifice. Don’t miss this action-packed, jaw-dropping, dark and romantic sequel to Dire Bound.

CROWNED BY DESTINY. CONSUMED BY VENGEANCE.

Against all odds, Meryn Cooper has inherited the crown—and a deadly war. As the Kingdom of Nocturna splinters under the weight of generations of lies, it is up to Meryn, her bonded direwolf Anassa, and their allies to bring the country back from the brink.

But the commoners, the Bonded, and the nobles are distrustful of their new queen and Meryn is caught in a deadly game of politics. Meanwhile, Meryn’s beloved younger sister, Saela, is more at risk than ever.

Confusingly, the one person Meryn can trust is Stark Therion—the dark, dangerous Alpha she thought hated her as much as she loathed him. Yet, his loyalty is unshakeable. His presence is intoxicating. And with his guidance, Meryn can seize an unthinkable level of power.

With enemies closing in and shadows stirring in her dreams, Meryn stands to lose her kingdom—and her heart.

Blood will spill. Bonds will break. Fate will be tested.

Fury Bound by Sable Sorensen
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#qotd - Are you planning on reading Fury Bound? What did you think of Dire Bound?

🐺
Typically, in a fantasy series like this, the second installment is not as good as the first and winds up being a lot of world building with very little plot movement. This was not the case with Fury Bound. The pacing was excellent and the story line mostly wrapped itself up in this book - leaving us on a cliffhanger but not one that was as heartbreaking as the last. I left this book feeling like it gave me everything I needed to wait another year for the next one.
🐺
I think I liked this one better than the first. Getting Stark’s perspective was terrific. His POV was one I didn’t know I was missing. It added such depth to his character and was really well done. Speaking of Stark, the slow burn romance was so freaking hot.
🐺
Watching Meryn have to embrace a role and part of culture that she finds so revolting is so uncomfortably fun. I found her to be a lot less annoying this time around. I also really enjoyed getting to know more about some of the side characters and about the history of the world.
🐺
My favorite thing about this book? The fact that it didn’t drag on while the characters planned and marched from place to place. Typical fantasy books spend so much time talking about a final face off and then just a few pages on the actual action, this book did not do that. It did not make you wait. So much happened and was accomplished.
🐺
Beware though - plot armor is not a thing to these authors. 😈

💌

[Thank you Sable Sorensen and Requited for the gifted advance review copy.]

Fury Bound was a 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁-𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱, 𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹-𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘄𝗲𝘁 (𝕕𝕣𝕠𝕠𝕝? 𝕚𝕟𝕜? 𝕤𝕒𝕝𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕣? 𝕓𝕝𝕠𝕠𝕕? 𝕠𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣… 𝕝𝕚𝕢𝕦𝕚𝕕𝕤?) adventure in continuation of Dire Bound. This book was a ride I never wanted to get off of. Happy, sad, feral, mad, smug, excited… I felt it all. I thoroughly loved this book, dare I say more than Dire Bound? *gasp*

Some things that Fury Bound delivers on include:
-𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗿𝗰 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗻
-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗸’𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩!!!! 𝗜’𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆.
-𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀
-𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀
-𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲…. 𝗠𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘀 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲.

Book 2 delves deeper into the lore and worldbuilding, and I loved that I got so many of my questions answered. I appreciated how well-placed the foreshadowing was. All of the pieces are coming together, and I am excited to see how this all ends up... especially with that cliffhanger.... ughhhhh laksjdf;laksjdf;oaisfjg;lakjdg;oaijsdg;okjas;dgl!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️♾️

Thank you so much to Sable Sorenson for the ARC of this amazing and beautiful book. It remains one of my God tier series and I absolutely CANNOT wait until the next book.

This book is EVERYTHING! Excuse me, because this review will not be eloquent or organized as my reviews normally are. The way everything connected so perfectly, the Easter eggs that were hidden since book one, the twists and the turns that even a person well versed in identifying would not be able to see until it was right in front of them. This book reads more like an epic fantasy-romance instead of a Romantasy. There are so many topics with deep meanings and I have not been able to stop thinking about it. I don’t know how I just go about living until the next book comes out.

Tropes for the overall book:
Found Family
RELUCTANT allies
HIGH stakes
Epic quest
Good versus Evil
Magical Artifacts

Romantic tropes:
Touch her/him and d*e
Enemies to lovers
All the YEARNING
Slow burn
Shadow mommy…and more

3/5 ⭐️
2/5 🌶️

First of all, a huge, HUGE thank you to the author and team for including me on the ARC for Furybound. I literally screamed.

I went into this not really knowing what to expect… but I’ll be honest, it didn’t quite hit the way I hoped it would, which truly hurts my heart.

There are so many strong elements here, the worldbuilding, the lore, the court politics, and the wider conflict all have so much potential. There was absolutely twists and turns I didn’t see coming. But for me, it felt like the story was trying to do a lot at once, and the execution wasn’t fully there.

The pacing was the biggest struggle. It felt quite slow for a large portion of the book, and I kept waiting for that moment where everything would click into place. Unfortunately, that momentum either came too late or not strongly enough, and I found myself feeling slightly disconnected at times.

The ending… I wanted more. It felt a bit anticlimactic for me, and the final chapter honestly left me more confused than anything. I wish we’d had more hints or snippets of that throughout the story so it landed with more impact. Had we had those moments I think the ending would have been jaw drop worthy!

That said, it wasn’t all negative. There were definitely moments I enjoyed, and I can see what the story is building towards. I will always love Meryn, Anassa, Stark and Cratos. And despite my feelings, I will be continuing with the next book. I’m still curious to see where it goes next.

I think what makes this harder is how much I loved Direbound, that was genuinely a 6⭐️ read for me. So I think my expectations were just really high going into this one, which made the disappointment hit a little more.

5⭐️ I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with this series, these characters, the world, and i was so SAT for this book.

I loved how we immediately jump in right where book one left off, and let me just say that the plot in this was ABSOLUTELY PLOTTING! I swear i “one more chapter” myself to DEATH! From the plot, to the romance, to the political intrigue, the battles, the grief, the spice, the characters, everything in this was so so goooood!

I love the feminine power and rage that we see in this book, especially from Meryn and i just I adore the bond between her and Anassa. I loved the buildup between Meryn and Stark, likeeee GOOODNESSSSSS! I loved how this book kept me on the edge of my seat and my ass cheeks clenched like y’all it was so much going on and it leaves you wanting to stay up and read just so you can see what else is going to happen! Those battles and adventures were somethingggg serious fr! Also that cliffhanger??! I’m chomping on my nails waiting for book 3!!!

Thank you so much to Sable Sorensen & Hachette Book Group for the opportunity to read this as an ARC! This was amazing 🤭🤭

Yeah I’m going to be in the minority of thinking this was MEH but that’s OKAY.

Fury bound honestly hurts to talk about because Dire bound was genuinely a 6⭐ read for me and I went into this one expecting to be absolutely obsessed… and instead this ended up just not meeting my expectations.

And listen, there are SO many good things here. The worldbuilding expands, the politics get bigger, the lore gets deeper, the court drama is there, the twists are there and I will always love Meryn, Anassa, Stark and Cratos. Anassa especially? I would like to personally thank her for carrying some of this book on her back.

But for me, this just didn’t hit the way I wanted it to.

My biggest issue was honestly the pacing. It felt really slow for a huge part of the book and I kept waiting for that moment where everything would just click and I’d be fully locked in. It either came too late or just not strongly enough and I found myself feeling weirdly disconnected at times.

The romance was probably my biggest disappointment though. I wanted more banter, more tension, more yearning. They got together WAY too quickly for me, especially after everything that happened in Direbound. It felt very lust-forward and not emotionally built enough. I needed more conversations, more trust building, more actual emotional development.

And the ending… I wanted so much more. The final confrontation felt way too short and that last chapter honestly felt like it came out of nowhere. Instead of being jaw dropping, it just left me confused. I really think with better foreshadowing throughout, that ending could have absolutely wrecked me.

I DID HOWEVER absolutely adore getting to explore more of the world, that was easily one of the biggest highlights for me. Seeing the world expand beyond what we got in Dire bound added so much depth to the story and the court politics, history and wider conflict made everything feel much bigger and more layered. I loved getting more insight into how everything connects, the shifting alliances, and the power plays happening behind the scenes. It made the stakes feel higher and gave the story so much more potential.

I think what makes this harder is that I know what these authors can do because Direbound was THAT good. So maybe my expectations were unfairly high… but still.

That said, I’m absolutely still reading the next book because clearly I enjoy suffering.

PRAISE THE FACELESS GODDESS THIS BOOK WAS BLOODY BRILLIANT !!!!

thankyou to the beauties at Wayward for this gorgeous proof

This is possibly the most difficult review to write without spoilers, I had the best time back in Nocturna with our girl Meryn. She really grows into herself in this book, she’s fierce, unapologetic, kind and a total badass.
Her dynamic with Stark had me SCREAMING the entire

This story is full of twists, action, intrigue and the most swoon worthy moments.

“What happened to ‘my queen’…?”
“Act like a filthy little princess and get treated like one…” SCREAMS

I will absolutely be squealing about this when it’s out in May and i can yap even more, and scream all the quotes i’ve annotated, but i’m saving them for release day to avoid spoilers

Fury Bound is out May 5th

I didn’t think anything could top Dire Bound, but Fury Bound absolutely proved me wrong.

I loved this book. The character development was so strong, the banter hit every time, and the connections between the characters felt deeper than ever. The found family element…easily one of my favorite parts, it just adds so much heart to the story.

And the plot, wow. I truly didn’t think there would be anything that could shock me, but I was very wrong. There’s so much unfolding in this installment, and it keeps you completely hooked the entire time.

I especially loved the treasure hunting aspect, it added such a fun, adventurous layer, and the power that Meryn and Stark hold continues to evolve in such an exciting way.

This book had everything for me, and I genuinely cannot wait to see where this series goes next. Just amazing.

Rounding up to 4⭐️ for this one, mostly for the vibes and how addicting & binge-worthy this series is. While there were some things that fell short for me, I did still enjoy the read and will be continuing the series!

To be fair, I went into this sequel with some pretty high expectations after how much I loved the 1st book. And while I didn’t love this one as much as Direbound, I did enjoy how the plot progressed in this book. The developments in the romance, the higher stakes, the nonstop action, the added lore!! It all kept my attention throughout, but I will say there were a few things that took me out of the story here & there.

First off, there were some points where the writing seemed a bit lackluster and maybe lacked some refinement. With how addictive these books are, you kind of mindlessly fly through it but there were a few times where it distracted me. There were also a few moments where the pacing was all over the place and it felt like the plot had no clear direction, but for the most part, I just rolled with it and enjoyed the ride.

I won’t touch on too many of the tropes to avoid spoilers, but in terms of the romance, I was hoping for a bit slower of a burn? Honestly though, I love these two and their dynamic so much and I’m still very much invested in their love story. I loved that we got dual POV in this one and if you’re looking for spice?? Boy did this book deliver🌶️

Overall, I think this could’ve been better in some areas but I still had a fun time with it and will definitely be continuing the series, especially after that ending and all the new LORE.

Thank you so much to the authors for the opportunity to read an eARC!🫶🏼

Wow, this is how you write a sequel! A lot of second books in fantasy series tend to have middle book syndrome but not in this case! We’re taken somewhere entirely new and the way the world expands feels so immersive. The twists and unexpected turns had me completely gagged and heartbroken at the same time. The tension had me absolutely feral, and that ending? My mind was blown!

I loved the growth Meryn goes through in this book. Watching her carry so much responsibility, constantly face danger, and still find strength and confidence within herself made her feel incredibly real. Her character in book one and two was like night and day. And Stark… don’t even get me started. Every time the POV switched to him, I got so giddy. The mouth on that man had me needing to go outside and touch grass. I absolutely should not have been reading those spicy scenes at work…but I did it anyway.

I cannot wait to see where book three takes us after that ending and how this trilogy wraps up!

Y’all I am shook! I loved Dire Bound, especially towards the end as the story grew into itself. But Fury Bound was even better. The story was fast paced and answered so many of my questions from Dire Bound.
Meryn definitely grew into her role as queen during this book, and the slow burn was chef’s kiss! Stark was his usual badass self, and I felt like you even get a better understanding of him in Fury Bound.
The twists in this book left me reeling, I cannot wait for everyone to be able to read this book! Sable Sorenson, you guys killed it!

Oh. Fuck.

Those were quite literally the words I said out loud after finishing the final page… and honestly, I stand by them.

Returning to Meryn, Anassa, Stark, Cratos and the bonded felt like coming home – if home was full of danger, tension, wolves, heartbreak and emotional damage.

Sable Sorensen does not waste a second. We are thrown straight back into the chaos with twists, lies, corruption and tension from the very first chapters. I did find the pacing slower than Dire Bound, with more time spent building the emotional weight and relationships, rather than the constant action of book one, but honestly, it worked. It made every reveal hit harder and made the emotional punches land even more.

Every chapter feels like a rollercoaster – or maybe a boxing match – because the twists just keep coming like punch after punch, and they absolutely land.

The dual POV between Meryn and Stark works so well, but Stark’s chapters? Elite. His humour, his need, the tension, and especially the banter between him and his wolf, Cratos, completely stole the show for me. Cratos is genuinely hilarious.

Meryn, meanwhile, had me stressed early on with the risks she kept taking. I didn’t know if it was her determination or her naivety shining through again, but she was definitely testing my patience and making me worry for her.

And then there’s the tension…

The longing.
The wanting.
The spice. 🥵

Dire Bound gave us one bed.
Fury Bound gave us one horse.

Enough said.

But what really makes this series shine is the emotional weight behind it all. There were chapters that gave me goosebumps, chapters that brought tears to my eyes, and chapters that left me sitting there with my mouth hanging open in complete shock. There were moments I genuinely had to stop and just stare at the wall.

And that ending…

Sable Sorensen has once again left me emotionally wrecked, desperate for answers, and already impatient for what comes next.

If you loved Dire Bound, prepare yourself, because Fury Bound raises everything. Higher stakes, bigger twists, stronger emotions, and even more reasons to become completely obsessed. I need book three immediately.

Huge thank you to Sable Sorensen and WaywardTXF for the opportunity to read and review this early.

Awful. Awful. Awful.

Reads like a children's comic book, excruciatingly cringy and badly written. I DNFd when the mmc states he wants to rip fmc clothes off to show her 'how warm skin can keep you in the cold' in response to her crying her eyes out in his office after killing a ton of people. Very bizarre!! I wouldn't mind the storyline if it was written with an ounce of intelligence! I did flick through the rest and I have read book 1 (which wasn't great but felt like it was written by a different author!)

If you rated this 5 stars and it was 'god tier' to you, then I don't think you have actually read any well-written fantasy/romantasy books, I suggest branch out and leave this pornographic unfeeling drivel in the bin. Sorry not sorry!

Absolutely phenomenal book 2. Some book 2s can be hit or miss, but Fury Bound didn't miss a beat. Sable Sorensen took what they did great in book 1, amplified it, and then threw in a bunch of new characters, plot twists, and spice to make this an all time book 2 that you absolutely need to pick up the second you finish Dire Bound!

Did I finish it or did it finish me?!

Fury Bound was one of my most anticipated reads this year and it did not disappoint!! 😍 what an absolute whirlwind this book was!! It 100% lives up to all the hype and I am so excited for everyone to be able to read this when it’s released!!

Fury Bound picks up right where Dire Bound left off as we are thrusted right into the heartbreak and devastation of the ending of Dire Bound. It immediately gripped me and I could not put it down from the get go!! The plot was utterly captivating!

The authors weren’t messing around here as within the first few chapters, they immediately throw us straight back into the action that I loved so much in Dire Bound and it doesn’t stop there!

The plot was always being moved forward and you are hit with plot twist after plot twist! It’s fast paced and things are revealed along the way answering lots of question I had following Dire Bound.

The emotional rollercoaster you go on through this book is insane! Be prepared for the authors break you, put you back together just to break you again! There’s devastation, like utter devastation 😭 moments where I didn’t believe what I was reading and swore it would all be alright again, but it wasn’t. There’s so much action, the fight scenes are brutal, gory and fast paced. There’s shocking moments with twists and turns I didn’t see coming that had me on the edge of my seat! And then sprinkled throughout there’s also banter and light hearted moments. Moments that had me laughing out loud, and moments that had me swooning!

There is so much more rich world building in this book now that we have ventured out the bonded academy and the magic system is developed even further with exciting new powers coming into play. I absolutely loved the exploration of lore and history of the gods and looking back now I can see so much foreshadowing that has been intricately woven throughout the series!!

One thing I wanted more of following Dire Bound was Stark and boy did I get it in Fury Bound 😍 I absolutely loved Stark’s POVs!! They were everything I wanted and more!

The tension and chemistry between Meryn and Stark was off the charts 🔥 it was sizzling and so palpable. I love how they despise each other but have an underlying desire drawing them together giving this tension filled push pull dynamic. And the slow burn is excruciating but so worth it!!

Meryn and Anassa’s bond is a stand out for me again in Fury Bound. They are both stubborn, strong willed and feisty and their banter is brilliant. I loved watching their bond grow and I loved seeing Meryns character development.

And that ending…what a cliffhanger that was 🤯 where do we go from here?! I desperately need the next book! Please don’t make me wait another year 😂 I am not okay!!

The only thing I’d have like more of was the big battle. It felt like it was over with very quickly considering there was so much build up, but I still absolutely loved this book 😍 it was incredible, and I CANNOT wait for book 3!!!

Hold on to your hats because you are in for a wild ride with Fury Bound when it’s released on 5th May!

Thank you so much to Wayward TxF and authors Sable Sorensen for providing this ARC via NetGalley for review. All opinions are my own.

I have no doubt that this will be one of my top romantasy reads of 2026. Holy direwolves — that was SO GOOD!

Fury Bound picks up right where Dire Bound left Meryn, dealing with the aftermath of Killian’s big reveals. She’s the rightful queen and faces both the threat from Killian and the unending war. She, Stark (still sworn to protect her), and her friends must work together to reclaim, rebuild, and seek revenge. And not without further sacrifice.

From page 1, this story is relentless and addictive. It’s full of a magic all its own, but the vampire politics reminded me of Brimstone and the travels to other cities felt like Onyx Storm — in the best ways!

Stark’s POV chapters were such a great addition. He’s grumpy and pining, and has so many hot lines. I cannot wait to do an audiobook reread and hear them in Gabriel Michael’s voice.

Meryn and Stark’s chemistry is scorching. For real, the spicy scenes in this book had me sweating. 😅

But above all, I love Meryn’s strength. That she is Stark’s equal. Their relationship is so satisfying to watch develop!

Hands down, a 5-star read. Pub date isn’t even here yet and I’m already dying to get my hands on book 3!

Thanks to Sable Sorensen, Requited, and NetGalley for the e-ARC! All opinions are my own.
