Forbidden : The Books They Don't Want You to Read

Rate this book
If you are reading this, perhaps you were intrigued by the title, “Forbidden - The Books They Don’t Want You to Read,” and may be wondering – who are they? They are private individuals, government agencies, and organizations that take it upon themselves to decide what you should and should not be allowed to read. Wait! What was that?... Let me repeat that. They are private individuals, government agencies, and organizations that take it upon themselves to decide for you what you should and should not be allowed to read.

You are probably thinking, Can they do that? This is a free country. I can read whatever I choose to read. That may be true to some extent, but nevertheless, they have been censoring books since the printed word first arrived in the hands of readers.

Book banning is the most widespread form of censorship in the United States.
With our passive nature of remaining silent while our rights to freedom of speech are being attacked all around us in the form of reader censorship, we must ask ourselves…are we heading toward a society created in the novel, 1984, by George Orwell, and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury?

The answer is too frightening to imagine.
