Three years ago, Phoenix Hart had a temper to match his copper-red hair — loud, wild, and ready to burn bridges.
But now? He’s grown up. Runs a tattoo studio. Has his shit together. He’s mindful. Demure. Nothing shakes him — not even the memory of Splatterstorm Syndicate, the paintball team that left him behind.
At least, that’s what he tells himself.
Then the team storms back into his life, led by his golden-boy brother Grayson and the infuriating garbage truck of a man, Hunter Ash. And suddenly, Phoenix is spiraling — reminding himself on repeat that he's mindful. Demure. So f-ing demure.
Once friends, now enemies. Especially that garbage truck Hunter Ash. But what if it starts to feel like something else?
Phoenix has spent three years building his calm. Now he’s fighting to keep it from crashing down — trying to prove that Splatterstorm Syndicate and the idiots on it mean nothing. Absolutely nothing... right?
Author of dark romance that delve into obsession, redemption and the darker side of love and family 🌙 — served with morally gray characters and spice. 🔥
I truly loved this book. I loved how this was a sports romance, but not your typical sport like hockey or football, but centered around paint ball! The tropes were all great, found family, brother’s best friend, spicey slow burn!!! The chemistry between both MMCs was to die for. I fell in love by the 3rd chapter. Totally recommend this if you are into MM romance!!!
Going into this book and discovering a new author, I wasn’t sure what to expect—but surprise, surprise, it hooked me completely!
Phoenix is finally moving on after being cut from the Splatterstorm Syndicate, opening his own tattoo shop and finding his footing again. But when his older brother rolls back into town with a broken arm, Phoenix is asked to step in with the old crew. That’s when the story really takes off.
The slow-burn romance between Phoenix and Hunter was hot, steamy, and so fun to watch unfold. When they finally had their lightbulb moment—it was everything! Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and this book delivered in the best way.
Oh I loved this!! I felt there was going to be a massive miscommunication trope and was a little hesitant but when everything revealed itself I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. It was like watching in slow motion as hearts were broken. The trauma that Phoenix suffered through was absolutely heartbreaking. I loved the connections between the brother and hunter seeing phoenix from such a young age was so well done. I would absolutely love to read more about this group of splatter idiots!
This was a great read. There were a few bits missing for me that would have made this a five star read BUT I still really enjoyed the story telling and how the characters grew over time. I loved how it jumped time zones too so you really got to understand phoenix and the others. Fab fab read
Okay so I honestly couldn’t believe that how amazing this was. I was shook. Omg like the tension absolutely had me on fire, I loved it. Kip you had me in a gosh darn chokehold. This is now a must read author for me. Writing was absolutely amazing. I loved this book so much.
