This is the kind of book I can never leave left unopened for my parents to see. That would be a nightmare.
You can guess based on the title what the book is about but it's more than that.
The poems each and every sixty nine of them, are a journey of a man trying to mend his broken heart but also vividly imagining memories he had with the love of his life.
Love is complicated, messy, stupid, raw, and scary.
A broken heart is so much worse. And you can genuinely find yourself feeling bad the main character in this string of poems.
I will say the titles were cleverly crafted to fit the poem,if not more. I like that the poet described all the shades of love, the lust, the intimacy, the passion but also the darker part of it too.
