For Chloe Matlin, her gift of prophecy has proven the future is unshakeable.
Lately, though, her visions have been less than reliable and things only get worse when her sisters convince her to try changing the future. Now everything is blurry. Only Sebastian's future gives a clue about what's coming and it's filled with images of blood and death.
Changing the future once has already proved to be a disaster. Is changing it again worth the risk?
Angela grew up in Alberta, Canada. She dreamed of becoming the next Dian Fossey or Jane Goodall, until she realized she wasn’t all that keen on the outdoors or animals. Instead, she went into education and focused on elementary education and helping struggling readers. Her passion for writing grew gradually after being ignited by The Hunger Game and Twilight crazes. Angela lives on Vancouver Island with her family, where she is pursuing her Masters degree while continuing to write and serve as an instructional coach. Despite the heavy subject matter in each book of the trilogy, the author's writing is compelling. While Lily's my favorite story, this was a great installment. I wish there had been more romance, though. It was the most mystery like. I loved how Chloe only gets bits and pieces of her visions. It kept me turning the pages to put the puzzle together. Five glittery stars for this book, and the completion to the trilogy!
The end book of this YA trilogy couldn't be better. Through romance, high school ennui, and tragedy we watch the triplets come to terms with their gifts and mature, and learn to be adults with gifts they control, that don't control them. I truly loved this series.
This is a great book. I really enjoyed the relationship between the Matlin sisters. Each sister has a gift, Phoebe can tell if someone is telling a lie, Lily can heal and Chloe can see the future. This book is Chloe's story. Chloe has always felt that her visions were clear cut, what she saw happen in a vision would happen in real life. Chloe had been content with her future; even though it was not what she was hoping for. Then a vision of her betrayal had he questioning if she could just accept her "fate". With the help of her sister, she changed this vision. This sends all her visions out of whack; nothing is as it was before. Some visions she could not even see clearly and some have layers that were never there before. Bastian is the new kid in school and has not heard the rumors of the freaky Matlin sisters. He ends up being the only person that Chloe can see his future clearly. They team up to help Chloe figure out what is going on with her visions and to see if they can change the one horrible vision that she cannot fathom to have come true. Through all of this Bastian and Chloe become very close, but both have very different beliefs of love.
This is the first time I have read a book by Angela Fristoe, and I really enjoyed it. This was one book I just could not put down. I will defiantly be reading more of her books. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great YA romance.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Watch Me (Touched Trilogy, #3) by Angela Fristoe 4 ½ stars
I really enjoyed this final book in the trilogy. Chloe at times seemed the most responsible of the triplets, in the previous two books, in this really getting inside her head and learning just how she struggled with her visions, and how best to use her gift was interesting and often sad. Her struggles with understanding just what the future or possible futures she saw, meant learning when, or if she was supposed to do anything about it. Sebastian’s influence on her and his presence in her life changed so many things. It was sweet, and sad, a little heartbreaking, and very healing. I was definitely happy with how this ended, and where the story went along the way, it wasn’t filled with perfect happy endings and roses for everyone, it felt very possible in this day and age that many of the things that occurred, could happen.
What an amazing end to this "touch " trilogy. Gripping from the beginning Angela pans the story out in a way that the certain end you think is coming is always in doubt. Beautifully written with concise dialogue the story just flows along and gets very close to not being able to put the book down. It's a change to read a book that's not based on "steamy sex scenes". A must buy for all three of these books.
Readers who liked the first two books, will like this last one, too. Although I liked the first two better, this was a intersting, well-written book. It shows us that Chloe's belief in a future set in stone is not true and how she struggles with that. This book is a very satisfying end to the series, but it is not without tragedies.
I very much enjoyed this last installment in the story of the Matlin triplets. The notion that a future is not set in stone, even for a seer, is a good one. I enjoyed watching Chloe realize her gift is not perfect and then learn to live with it. Very good read.
