Short stories for your sun-lounger - or wherever! Seven women, each with a different holiday problem. Meet, Olivia, who wishes she wasn't on a tennis holiday; Estelle, alone on a cruise; Fiona who's flying too close for comfort; Shelley, who shouldn't have got involved with a foreigner; Alison who finds our her husband's off on a cruise - but not with her!; Eloise who's having a rotten time in Ibiza and Karla who's desperate for her family holiday in Corfu to go well
Should be named "Depressing Short Stories for you Sunlounger." Cheating spouses and revenge just aren't my idea of a 'fun beach read.' The only one I really enjoyed was "The Ballad of Fernando & Eloise."
I would like to say that this is not one of my review books but as with Ivy Lane by Cathy Bramley, I wanted to read and this was just perfect as I love Elaines books.
As with all Elaine’s books they are so descriptive and you find yourself picturing the places and people she describes in such detail.
As the blurb says you meet 7 different woman all with a holiday problem, there’s a cruise, the mile high club, we even go back to Mango Beach Resort in Antigua with the mention of some of Elaines characters from other books. We also meet another Travel2gether rep, a romance with a foreigner or 2 and a lovely family holiday in Corfu.
This book takes you to some wonderful places and as I have said they way Elaine describes these places you could almost be there. A wonderful feel good summer read and as it is 7 different stories you can pick it up and put it back down as you like, but if you’re like me you would have been desperate to read the next story, my only sadness is that it’s not long enough.
I’m now eagerly awaiting Elaines 3rd Singles Holiday book.
