Do nice guys always finish last? In the new Extreme Risk novel from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Wolff, a burnt-out underdog and a vulnerable tomboy defy the pressure to be perfect and go after what they really want.
Bighearted and easygoing, Luc Jennings is falling behind in a family of serious overachievers. While he may be decent enough at snowboarding to turn pro and rack up some sponsors, he’s never topped any podiums—unlike his friends Z, Ash, and Cam. Luc’s always been head over heels for Cam Bradley, but she’s never seen him as anything more than a friend. Now, after years of coming in second, Luc can’t take it anymore—especially if it means watching Cam chase another guy.
Cam hangs out almost exclusively with dudes, and that’s fine by her. She’d much rather be shredding at the Olympics than primping in the mirror. Cam’s wildest dreams have a way of coming true—except when it comes to getting her longtime crush and best friend, Z Michaels, to notice her. Then her mother suddenly shows up after being gone for, like, ever, and Cam’s whole world comes crashing down. Desperate for a place to lay low, she turns to the one person who’s always had her back.

This series about these four professional snowboarders has grown on me. I enjoyed the third book in the series about best friends Cameron and Luc. He's been pining for Cam for years and then 4 months ago, one fateful night, they blur the lines and do the deed. Of course, Cam freaks out and months of tension descends on these two.
I knew that Cam and Luc's story wouldn't be easy and there'd be angst. But when they were together, they just fit!
These two both had HUGE insecurity issues. Having been one of the guys all of her life, Cam was clueless as to how attractive she was and that Luc was crazy in love with her. And Luc suffered from inferiority compared to his best friends thanks to years of hearing he was never good enough from his mother. Even with this, he wasn't bitter and a very lovable, sexy character. But it was because of this that he never imagined Cam would want him.
My only complaint was how these two wouldn't communicate with each other to save their lives!!! There was this back and forth and some of it I was willing to take, it was expected. I just felt it went on too long. But despite this, it was a quick read and I enjoyed this friends to lovers read.

This was a short-ish New Adult Romance, the third in Tracy Wolff's Extreme Risk series. What makes it unique is that it involves two of the original group members and doesn't introduce anyone specifically to the main storyline. (Although I'm wondering about a certain pseudo-love interest and whether he will get his own book.)
Luc has, up to now, sort of been the guy in the background. He's more beta male than the other two guys, and less of a standout than the uber confident and outgoing Cam. The way he has thus far melted into the shadow of his snowboarding kings and queen could have made him out to be less dynamic than they were, but I didn't find that to be true. He is unique in his calmness and his ability to not stay in the limelight. Turns out, being around his ridiculously talented, risk taking friends sort of made him okay with his place in the snowboarding world. Except for the fact that he's had to sit and watch Cam pining after someone else. And except for the fact that he's so much better than he's even given himself credit for.
I'm a huge fan of friends to lovers stories. I love the big moment of realization, when one or both have their eyes opened to their attraction to each other. And the inevitable sexy times that follow tend to burn up the pages. That's definitely the go-to scene in this book. A particular pool scene comes to mind...although pretty much every scene in which Luc gets to let loose his inner dominance basically blew my head off. Wolff can write some SEX. Not particularly dirty or kinky, but rough and powerful and full of emotion. Add in what these two do for each other outside of the sheets, and they make the perfect couple. They build each other up, and they both see the best in one another.
I liked the way she ended the story...there's a bit of a twist...but I felt like I could have used another few pages of Cam and Luc wrapping things up...an epilogue, another scene in which they connect and come to terms with their strong emotions toward each other.
I'm glad I caught back up with this group of friends and I plan on checking out her other series. If they're half as spicy as this book, I'm in for a treat.
I have to say that the third novel in the Extreme Risk, series was a bit of a disappointment for me. Tracy Wolff in the previous two books managed to offer up some really good tropes, in a different way and with a decent cast of characters to back everything up, and seeing as the whole Cam and Luc situation has been hinted at throughout those books I was hoping that their story would be as stellar as its predecessors.
It started well, one thing Tracy excels at is sexy-times, and they come thick and fast in the first half of the book, but it became pretty obvious really quickly that this story was going to mainly be based around the H/h assuming everything and then not communicating with each other, this was kind of the beginning of the downhill run for me, and although I can understand the reason for using the last and pretty predictable trope, it kind of lost its impact with the unnecessary and pretty unexplained familial drama on Cam's side, and lack of real depth or development in relation to Luc's feelings of inadequacy, and their immature behavior towards each other in the last 25% of the book.
Enjoyable enough, but the author set the half-pipe high with the first two books in this series, and Slashed fell a little short in comparison. Axed is the next book in the series, and according to Goodreads it isn't due for release until early 2017... I hope that is incorrect as it would be a shame to wait that long for what I am hoping will be a book as good as the first couple of this series.

Luc Jennings and Cam Bradley have been friends since they were little kids. Up until a few months ago they were inseparable, and the closest of friends. After one night where they both acted on their attraction and slept together, their friendship has turned into awkward encounters and them avoiding each other. But when Cam's mom shows up after being gone from her life for seventeen years, she needs her best friend to comfort her.
Luc has always felt like he was second best to his friends, like he was the hanger on and didn't truly fit in. He has liked Cam for years and has had watch her lust after other men, and hates every minute of it. When she needs him, and only him, though, he can't keep his feeling to himself anymore and wants to be there for her as more than a friend Going from friends to lovers isn't as easy as he thinks though.
The chemistry between Luc and Cam was off the charts hot! This started with them avoiding each other and not talking but then BAM they just couldn't keep their hands off of each other. After they start a physical relationship they still don't know how to act around each other and neither of them is exactly sure what the other wants to happen. It was great to read about both Cam and Luc getting past their own insecurities to really go after what they want.
This was a great friends to lovers story, I just wish it didn't end so suddenly. At the end we skipped 3 months and a lot happened in the span of only a few chapters but none of it went into a lot of detail. The whole thing with Cam's mother didn't feel resolved to me, either. Not saying that I thought Cam should have forgiven her, but there was no conclusion to that situation like I wanted.
Overall, this was a great addition to this series and I can't wait to see all of these characters again in the next book. Anyone who liked a light friends to lovers romance, should give this book a try.

Following in the shadow of the world champion is difficult especially when your three best friends are those champions.
Luc Jennings feels like he was living on the coat tails of his friends fame. An outstanding snowboarder in his own right, Luc just thought his ability was subpar to Z, Ash and Cam...especially Cam the girl he wants.
Cam has always been one of the guys, shredding down the mountain with the best of the best. Z found his heart in another woman which broke Cam's heart. Cam turns to her friend Luc to help her deal only to discovers there was so much more than friendship between them.
Wonderfully fun, Slashed brings two wounded hearts together with some awesome boarding to boot. Great characters, fabulous snowboarding and a heartfelt love story between friends.

The Good: Luc and Cam’s story was one I’d been waiting on since the beginning of this series. Friends to lovers is a favorite, and the fact that Cam had finally let go of her infatuation with Z (the hero of the first book) gave me high hopes for this story. I love that it features a sport not often portrayed in romances, has a female athlete who’s at the top of her game as the heroine and the boarding scenes still have their own excitement and energy that helps pull the story along. The sex was good and I didn’t have a problem believing in their feelings for each other. And finally, towards the end, the scenes where Cam and Luc finally pull their collective heads out of their butts were enjoyable. That said...
The Bad: This is a personal preference, but when the hero or heroine have deep-seated insecurities that lead them to jump to conclusions, well…I can’t stand it. Luc’s a deeply insecure hero and that’s not sexy. Cam’s oblivious in her own way, and that’s also frustrating. Add them together, and I spent way too much time wanting to smack them upside their heads.
Also, this bit’s spoilery, so if you’re not into that, look away now.
Everything in Between: At the heart, Cam and Luc really needed to grow up. There is growth, but I have to admit that it felt all packed in at the end, past the point where my patience had frayed.
Perhaps my expectations tainted this, but it ended up being just an ok read for me.

I keep going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, so I guess it's a 3.5
I've been "patiently" waiting on Cam and Luc's story. It was good, but they both annoyed me. Just say it already. And then Cam's mom comes back, but we still don't know why she left. Then the ending. Yes, they finally said it and are on the way to HEA but it was too quick. Thank goodness there's another book in this series, but now I have to "patiently" wait until 2017. Why so long?
Fair warning as you read this review. I just start thinking about this book and I get crazy level excited. To the point where I start to gibber nonsensically. I'm not even joking. Slashed is one heck of an amazing book. I've read Tracy Wolff novels before and this is hands down, my absolute favorite that I've ever read by her. If you've read the book's synopsis, it follows pretty close to the storyline and does a great job of describing the book. The cover of the book.. have you seen the cover of the book?! It's, in my opinion, gorgeous.
I basically started the book and I actually thought it was about werewolves. Why? I'm not not sure, I didn't even peek at the synopsis. So I was sitting here for the first three chapters going, he's a wolf, isn't he? He got attacked or something! Nope, and thank goodness. This book is straight up about based around a couple and snowboarding. That alone makes me super excited to the point that I'm jumping up and down. Plot wise, it's really rare to see a romance sports book about snowboarding. That meant it was different for me and I was hooked. Did I mention it's also a second chance romance!? Just slay me now. I didn't put the book down even once.
What will you find in Slashed? A lot of this!
And this...
Some of this, because our hero is best at street style...
And we can't forget a whole lot of this!
Needless to say, I'm pretty much like this over Slashed.
Technical information wise, this is the third book in Tracy Wolff's Extreme Risk series. It can be read as a standalone, you won't miss anything. It does have an HEA and it's told from alternative first person POVs between the main characters.
Not only did I love the setting, plot and the sport within the book, I loved that our heroine, Cam, is a hardcore snowboarder too. She doesn't just sit back and let the guys have the fun, nope, she gets out there and has fun too. Sometimes even besting the guys! She's tough on the outside and pretty much a marshmallow in the inside with a will of steel. In the book, she's one of the best female snowboarders there is. A complete tomboy she has no idea or even inkling of her own allure.
Luc is probably one of my favorite heros to date. Definitely book boyfriend material. He came off to me as the strong, silent type. He's been in love with Cam for years, and sat by and watched her pine after someone else. He doesn't think he's good enough, and actually thinks he's friends don't think he is. He's the definite underdog in their crew and it just makes you want to cuddle him and root for him. Luc has an inner strength though too, he may go about things differently, and be down on himself, but he's also loyal, with a huge heart.
It's almost funny to read at first because it's like Luc is in love with Cam, who is in love with Z, who is in love with his GF. Yes, there is drama, some angst (They don't overdo it on the angst train), situations that make you boggle. I do want to point out that there is NO cheating in this book. I felt it needed to be said, because of the whole plot line. In some instances you might want to bash the main characters with your Kindle and tell them to communicate better. ;) There is a huge a amount of attraction between Cam and Luc, and it makes you wonder which one is going to tumble first.
Hands down, a five star read for me. Hopefully all of that made sense because like I said, I get way too excited over this book. I do plan to go back and read the rest of the series as soon as I can. I'm completely and totally hooked. I would most definitely recommend reading this one. It's fresh, it's different and it's fun.
"Slashed", is the third book in the Extreme Risk series and I have loved each book, I do recommend that you read the. In order, due to this group of characters dynamics. This book focuses on the relationship between Luc Jennings and Cameron Brady, they have been friends forever, and half of the time Luc has spent in love with his best friend but Cameron has never had eyes for him, she has always looked to their buddy Z Michaels. Luc had his one chance with Cameron, probably was not the best to have that night together when they both had been drinking but , he had no regrets the next morning, unfortunately Cameron did and she lit off out of the bed and the room like she was on fire, so now he tries to avoid her , it's too awkward between them and his heart just can not take it any longer . Luc knows he was only a second choice after Z , he gets it Z and ash are better snowboarders , he'll Cameron herself is also, they are always at the top of the podiums, have the most sponsors were as he may get third place and have a few sponsors himself but he is no were in the league with his buddies , nothing that he is not use too hell his own mother keeps asking him what he is going to do with his life when he is done playing at snowboarding and reminding him how nice if is of his friends to bring him along; she obviously sees him as not worthy either . His mom is too busy with his sister and her career as a world class violinist has been since he was a teenager. To say Luc carries a little baggage is putting it mildly. Cameron on the other hand , well she is just lost without her best friend. And unsure how to put them back they way they were and she is going to need him, now that her mother is back. Cameron has baggage. Too, her mom went out for ice cream seventeen years ago and never came back and suddenly she is moving back in and it is okay with her father, but not with Cam, she takes off and shows up at Lucs door going to the one person who has always made it better for her, so what is a guy to do, to spite his desire to try and get over her, he takes her in his arms , he lets her move in. Will a kiss and another night of passion change the situation? Can these two heal each other? Maybe?
This was another great read from Tarcy Wolff, I have been hooked on her books since reading the very first one in this series and will strongly recommend anyone of them! Arc graciously provided by Flirt via netgalley for and honest review.
Oh I was so excited for this one and yet sadly disappointed. These two are strong contenders, impressive snowboarders, and yet they are totally and completely pansies. Use your big boy and girl words seriously.
I was also so mad that we know more about Cam's mom and shes back, but we dont know why she left, where she's been, or anything like that. We also to me feels like an insanely rushed HEA. I'm happy they got it but there was just so so so much left unsaid I feel like I got a teaser. I WANT MORE!!!

I like this series, I really do! "Slashed" is the third in the "Extreme Risk" series by Tracy Wolff, and the thing is, every one of these books falls firmly into the wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am category. Quick, fun, easy, a rockin' good time while it lasts, they're great! In fact, I like to use this type of book as a sort of palate cleanser after something a little more serious or lengthy, which is exactly what I needed after my last read.
But...yeah, there is a "but". But, there are also some elements that could be improved in order for me to give higher than a 3 star rating. For example, background info on the characters could stand to be a lot more in depth. I wanted to know how Cam and Luc became friends. It seems like they went to elementary school together, but so what? I attended elementary school with lots of boys, but I was never best friends with any of them. Was it because they all boarded at the same hill? I assume so, but none of that past history was ever shown. I was just supposed to believe that Cam and Luc were best friends because the author told me so, but I was never shown anything to really back it up, make me believe that this was true.
Then there were Cam and Luc's families. Cam's mother left when Cam was very young, leaving behind a husband and seven kids (really?! Seven?! Why seven?) then reappears at the beginning of this book. Why? I didn't ever really find out. Where did she go, what did she do for a living? And why did Cam's dad and six brothers (again, really?! Why six?) all expect Cam to forgive her mom and just carry on like nothing happened? Again, no reason given. A couple of lines of explanation would have sufficed.
Luc's family situation was also kind of weirdly thrown in to the plot. Luc's self-esteem is pretty much non-existent. He counts himself as the low man on the totem pole in relation to his friends and everyone else, and I think I'm supposed to believe that at least part of this problem is due to his music prodigy twin sister. Luc's mom up and left him to bring his sister to New York to further her music career, but this is really only delved into once in the book, and I just wasn't buying it. And what about his father? Nary a mention.
So yeah, holes, holes, and more holes. Although I'm able to ignore these little annoyances for the most part, I still can't help but feel that "Slashed" would be so much better with a bit more attention to detail.
Cam is an awesome athlete. She is the #1 woman on the slopes. She and Luc have been best friends forever. Luc has also been in love with Cam forever. But Cam has always had a crush on Z. Z, Ash, Cam and Luc all run on the slopes together. Z has never been interested in Cam in a romantic way so he never address the crush. Z meet his one and only Ophelia and is very happy. Cam loves Ophelia and agrees that her CRUSH was misplaced.
After a one-night-stand with her best friend Luc, Cam freaks out and things between them are tense. Cam wants everything to go back to the way they were before that night but since she thinks about it non-stop she’s not sure that it can. Luc is hurt and feels rejected by Cam after that night. Luc tries to ignore Cam and tries to get on with his life but when Cam ends up at his door step needing his help all the tension and weirdness is replaced with passion.
This time Luc freaks out and can’t trust Cam with his heart. Cam leaves the relationship and tries to move past it. She is training harder than ever before but then a medical situation takes her out of the competition and she will be sidelined for about a year until it is resolved. Luc needs to be there for Cam and feels responsible for a lot of the stress that Cam is under now.
Z and Ash’s advice to Luc to man up and go get his woman make Luc get his butt in gear. Cam comes to the realization that she has always loved Luc but was scared and they try to find their way back to each other.
I like how strong Cam is and she is right Luc did not trust her. He was unwilling to fight for her because he was too afraid to be rejected. That was Cam’s issue in the beginning. Afraid of her feelings for Luc. I am hoping that there will be more in this series maybe with Ash’s younger brother or with Hannah later on in life.
Tracy Wolff does not disappoint with Slashed! Loved the first two books, so I just knew I'd love Luc's story. There were so many moments of feels and then an unexpected twist that ups the ante toward the end. I loved the push and pull between Cam and Luc and really liked seeing things from both perspectives. It made the tension that much greater. Also, enjoyed seeing Z and Ash! This is a quick read. Finished it in a few hours.
Welcome back to the world of extreme sports and extreme emotional entanglements! Tracy Wolff is back with Slashed the tale of best friends who may or may not find there is more to their relationship than shared secrets and movie marathons. Are you ready for “He Said, She Said” as dual POVs make for a love story that just never seems to get off the ground and we seem to be the only ones who know why?
Cam and Luc have been besties forever, through thick and thin, joy and heartbreak, but somewhere along the line, the lines of friendship are erased and neither is capable of believing in the possibility that they share deeper feelings. Get ready for miscommunications, jumping to wrong conclusions and the unavoidable “awkward” feeling between two wonderful people who continually fail to properly launch what could be a lifetime of love. Will Cam come clean and quit trying to make Luc read her mind? Will Luc cut the woe is me, I’m always second best attitude and really see what everyone else sees? They have great chemistry between the sheets, but in the light of day, they are more like a high school experiment gone bad. Maybe the one test they passed will graduate them to the adult relationship they deny!
And again, Tracy Wolff brings drama to the slopes, as she brings back the entire gang to witness the love fiasco going on between two very endearing characters who could each use an extra dash of maturity and understanding in the world around them. Does Tracy Wolff take the predictable path? No way, the little side stops along the way are what make this such a wonderful read and truly flesh out some of this romance. Did those side stops answer as many questions as they raised, um, no, and I for one, am hoping that means we have some more “extreme Tracy Wolff” coming. We need more details, we need to know the rest of the story!

Gorgeous, sweet and sexy Luc Jennings is done coming in second. He knows he is not the best snowboarder amongst his friends, who constantly reach podium. No matter how little his mother thought of him or how many times he doubted himself, he should know better. He is a decent athlete who turned pro and managed to land some sponsors. For as long as he can remember, he's been in love with Cam, the only girl in their tight group of friends. Yet after a one time hook up, Cam freaked out and things between them have deteriorated. He misses her terribly, but can't take her puppy eyes directed at Z any longer. Cam is a tomboy. She hangs out exclusively with dudes and her six brothers see her as another one of the guys. Her long time crush is now happily involved with a girl that even she can't hate. The woman that birthed her decided to barge back into her life after seventeen years. In other words, her life sucks. The one person that she could always count on has been distant for months and it's all her fault. But he is Luc and she knows he won't ever leave her hanging. Except the space between them might be too far to be crossed this one last time… The third installment of Tracy Wolff's Extreme Risk Series is intense but in a different way. While Z's story was full of tricks and Ash's brought enough emotions to cause an avalanche, Luc and Cam's tale is so full of miscommunication and misunderstandings that angst is the main character of the story. There is doubt, insecurity, and uncertainty along the way. But there is also, love and friendship. The kind that surpasses all and makes it all work out. It is fun and if you know nothing about snowboarding tricks, get ready to learn. I hope there will be a novella to bring these lovable friends back. Maybe a tale for Logan?
I have read all the Extreme Risks books and this one was a bit disappointing. I have been waiting for Cam and Luc's story through the other two books. Their story was simmering in the background and it seemed to have the makings of a really good best friends to lover story. It started out where we left off...these two were drunk and slept together. Cam didn't handle the morning after well and disappeared. Luc, who constantly thinks he plays second, third, even forth best to this best friends is beyond hurt but plays it off. He doesn't do a stellar job as he ignores Cam and their friendship suffers.
The best part of this book is seeing these two come around even after hurting each other. It seemed real and the miscommunication was endless but they inherently love each other. They want to fix their relationship and even move it to the next level. The secondary storylines of Luc playng second fiddle to all of his buddies in snowboarding and Cam's mom reappearing after leaving when she is a child aren't explored enough but had the potential to be powerful storylines. Also, the ending and HEA was rushed and so much more detail could have been provided. This book left me wanting more but it was still an enjoyable read.

I like that the characters are all personable and genuine. You can relate to them and feel a connection. Luc is so sweet, caring, gentle and sincere but stubborn. He is o superman but he is awesome.
The story line is fun, smooth and easy flowing and lets you pace yourself through the book. I finished this one in one sitting. Watching the struggle through the obvious (as we all do) then figure it all out is fun. Getting to see the past characters is also great. I love reconnecting without going all the way back.
A feel good easy read that will leave you frustrated then smiling.

Loved the characters! It's my first in the series and I need to have the rest. The emotion in this story really takes it to the next level. Friends to lover is definitely one of my faves and this story does not disappoint. Cam is complex and Luc gets her like nobody else does. Their plot gets thicker and it takes a little emotional navigation to get them to the other side. I really enjoyed this read.
Luc has been in love with his best friend Cam since they were sixteen years old. He's sat back and watched her lust after their other best friend for nearly that long hoping that one day she would see him. The night they finally got together he thought that his day had finally come but then the following morning, she freaked out and started talking about what a mistake it was and nothing has been the same between them since. So Luc is ready to move on, he'll stick with hooking up with some of the snow bunnies that his friends used to have so much fun with while he sat around and dreamed of Cam. But no matter what he does or rather who he does, there is only one person that he truly wants to be with, she's the only one that will ever truly make him happy.
Cam just wants things to back to the way that they used to be before she screwed everything up. She misses the way that Luc used to look at her, the way that he would always joke around with her, the way that he would always talk to her. Now he won't even stay in the same room with her unless at least one of their friends are with them. He won't talk to her, he won’t look at her all because she's a coward. Trying to avoid messing up everything with her best friend, she has done just that.
When I saw that I received Slashed by Tracy Wolff from the publisher to review, I was super excited but also a little floored that I had somehow missed the first two books in the series so the first thing that I did was flip over to Amazon to buy them. I can tell you that each of these books can be read as a standalone title however, they do tie in together as the series is about four best friends that are all professional snowboarders and I felt that they are much more enjoyable if read in order. When read that you can see the dynamics in the foursome, why they are such close friends and why through thick and thin, they have stuck together even through some very trying times.
I really liked the first book, LOVED the second book and would have LOVED this book as well if it had had an epilogue. Both of the other books had one so I don't understand why this one didn't. I mean really, this one has a MAJOR ending and as a fan I really wanted to see how it all played out. I'm really hoping that this might mean that there will be a forth book in the series but it doesn't seem to be written that way. 4.5 stars

So right from the start this book was captivating. It starts weeks after Cam and Luc got drunk and slept together only to have Cam sneak out in the middle of the night. Leaving their friendship in turmoil. The problem with this is that they are life long best friends and neither one know what to do to get their friendship back on track, especially because they are both in love with each other.
Luc has been in love with Cam since he was fourteen. With a mother that doesn't appreciate him and having best friends that are at the top of their sport, he doesn't really think that he is ever going to be good enough for Cam. At least not better than a couple of one night stands. So when they hook up repeatedly he refuses to see that it could be the start of a great relationship and instead lets all of his insecurities push Cam away.
Cam never really saw Luc as anything more than her best friend. I mean she knew that he was beyond hot and everything a girl could want but until that fateful night where they hooked up she never realized that it could possible be more. So when they hook up again she sees it as the start of a great relationship and looks forward to dates and being with Luc again.
Unfortunately not everything works out as Cam hopes and soon those few weeks of not being close don't even start to compare to the three months of no contact between the two. That is until something happens to make Luc get his head out of his ass in order to finally put all of his negativities behind him and go after his girl.
This book was gripping and kept me on my toes. There were so many aspects going on with the dual POVs that really made me connect and love the characters even more. I loved that the author let us glimpse inside of Luc's head to see that sometimes men can be just as vulnerable as us women. It made this book so much more realistic and special being able to see that.
Having not read the first two books in this series makes me want to go back and start at the beginning. I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not starting at the beginning only that I think it would make me appreciate this book even more.
I love the whole best friends to lovers storyline but since this is the first book I have read in this series I'm just not really sure how I felt about this book.
Luc has been in love with Cam since he was 14 and they have been best friends forever. One night when they are drunk they have sex and Cam leaves. About 6 months later they are still avoiding one another and they aren't as close as they were.
Cams mom returns after 17 years and she runs to Luc. They end up having sex a few times but they are both not sure what is happening between them. They have a big fight Cam goes to stay with one of their friends. Then 3 months later she finds out she is pregnant.
I know these two have been friends for years and started to have feelings for one another but to me this story was rushed from the beginning to the end. Half the time in the story they aren't even speaking and if they are its fighting.
They don't share their feelings for one another. I think if they would have just had the talk after they had sex a lot of in between could have been cut out. I mean these two didn't even actually date. I guess I just expected a little more to this story and a whole lot more romance.
The characters were somewhat interesting but not enough to fully capture all my attention. I did like they were snowboarders and lived in Utah. I liked how when they were around one another they had fun and got along but I still feel like it was missing some important parts.

The third in the series, it was lovely to catch up with old friends and watch the next pairing work out what Ms Wolff had planned for their future.
I love sports romances, and ones which happen in high adrenaline situations are possibly my favourite. That said, there is much more romance than sport in this book and that suited me just fine too. Oh there is snow board talk, and even action, but the focus is definitely on Luc and Cam.
These two best friends forever each tell their story, and give us insight into their feelings, in such a way that only the most ardent pacifist wouldn't want to knock their heads together! As someone who thinks far far too much myself, I empathised with both of them - in fact maybe too much. It was important that we understood their backgrounds and just why they had such difficulty in seeing what was blindly obvious to everyone else. Their bodies certainly had the idea - which makes for some hot and steamy encounters. I can't really wait to get an update on how things move forward - so I do hope that a new book is being crafted.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. This Extreme Risk series has become one of my favorites since the beginning. With each story about one of the four best friends and their extreme snowboarding skills. Cam Bradley is the only female in this group and Luc Jennings is her best friend since second grade. They talk about everything and anything. Then one night they drink too much and cross the line between friendship and more. Cam freaks out and runs and Luc can't believe he let it happen. So now months later and they are still avoiding each other. Can they work things out? It would be hard for them to go back to being just friends. And how will Luc handle Cam's secret? Will the other friends and their girlfriends be there for them? I love this series and Tracy Wolf, she has a great writing style that seems to pull you into the story. And I can't wait for more.
Another super angsty, steamy, fun and fast read for this series. In this book we get to see Luc & Cams story, friends to lovers is always fun to read, you get to just watch them fall in love and realize they're in love with there best friend. Luc & Cam are also no exception to to turmoil that is brought on by finding out your in love with your best friend, they have fears of ruining everything they have, but they fear not being around each other too. Both are stubborn, opinionated, and adrenaline junkies...So in other words they are perfect for one another. Over the course of these books Cam has been a hard one to get attached to, she comes off rather bitchy at times. I enjoyed seeing more into her more vulnerable side. I hope this isn't the end for this crazy group of snow boarders, I'd love to see more from them all. If your looking for a fun fast angsty read check out this book, and the series. These book can be read as standalones but there will be spoilers if you read them out of order.
I haven't read any sports books in a while so this was a nice change of pace for me... and I LOVED it. I haven't read any of the other books in this series so I was a bit unprepared for how much I would enjoy this group of characters.
The chemistry is amazing between the characters due to the long history they have together. I felt so bad for the mental damage that was done to Luc from his upbrining, but to see him finally start to come out of it was really sweet.
I did have a problem with their boating trip and the fact that everyone was so impressed with all these 'new' skills he was pulling out but then Luc never says anything about how those came to be.
A lot of this book is due to not communicating and not being willing to open themselves up to talk to their best friend about the now awkward situation that their lives have become.
I can't wait for more of this series and more from Tracy Wolff.
