Beatrix Potter

Born into a wealthy household, Potter was educated by governesses and grew up isolated from other children. She had numerous pets, and through holidays in Scotland and the Lake District, developed a love of landscape, flora, and fauna, all of which she closely observed and painted. Because she was a woman, her parents discouraged intellectual development, but her study and paintings of fungi led her to be widely respected in the field of mycology.
In her thirties, Potter published the highly successful children's book The Tale of Peter Rabbit and became secretly engaged to her publisher, Norman Warne, causing a breach with her parents, who disapproved of his social status. Warne died before the wedding.
Potter eventually published 24 children's books, the most recent being The Tale of Kitty-in-Boots (2016), and having become financially independent of her parents, was able to buy a farm in the Lake District, which she extended with other purchases over time.
In her forties, she married a local solicitor, William Heelis. She became a sheep breeder and farmer while continuing to write and illustrate children's books. Potter died in 1943 and left almost all of her property to The National Trust in order to preserve the beauty of the Lake District as she had known it, protecting it from developers.
Potter's books continue to sell well throughout the world, in multiple languages. Her stories have been retold in various formats, including a ballet, films, and in animation.

Lovely classic and a very good translation

I got this translation of Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Peter Rabbit to read to my 8-year-old daughter who is learning Arabic but still a beginner. I’m myself not proficient in reading Arabic but can get by reading at the level of this book. The book was a great opportunity for myself to improve my Arabic reading and for my daughter to improve her Arabic comprehension.
It's a fun and enjoyable read and knowing the English version of Peter Rabbit makes is easier to understand and therefore an excellent teaching resource for Arabic language learners of all ages. The words used in the book are challenging enough to promote expanding Arabic vocabulary but easy enough to understand the general meaning of the plot without understanding all words.
It is a great bedtime reading book for children. My daughter really enjoyed listening to the story, learning new words and trying to compare the story to the English version she already knows.
What makes this book translation stand out is the great audio book included in the ebook version. This feature makes it excellent for learning pronunciation and easing understanding for children and adults looking to expand their Arabic language skills.
It's worth noting that this book is probably not a book for absolute beginners who are just starting to learn the Arabic language. However, it's great for language learners who have already mastered a basic understanding of Arabic and have a decent Arabic vocabulary but still need practice in reading and comprehension.
This is a fantastic book for kids learning Arabic and needing an engaging story that they are already familiar with to help spark their interest in learning the language. It’s an excellent combination of an engaging story and a valuable learning tool. I highly recommend this book!
