I selected this book for reading based on the synopsis. The escape controlling parents/revenge plot caught my attention enough to earn real estate in my Kindle Library.
From the very beginning, I had major difficulty reading this story because of the pervasive use of incorrect grammar. I found myself mentally correcting words and verb tenses in order to make sense of what I was reading. It was exhausting and I finally gave up on finishing the book in Chapter 9 after reading the passage, “It was a Caribbean cruise, and they stopped at several ports, including the Bahamas followed by the Cayman Islands and Hawaii.”
They were on a 7-day cruise. An impossible length of time for them to visit several Caribbean islands and also make it to Hawaii and back via cruise ship. Not sure how the author missed the basic time/distance inconsistency with Hawaii located in the South Pacific Ocean, not the Caribbean.
If you have an aversion to bad grammar, I would not recommend reading this particular book, it will only frustrate you. That said, if the author would consider some serious editing, I WOULD give it another shot (and happily amend my review) if the resulting edits lived up to the synopsis.
This is a book that I really enjoyed reading. There is plenty of chemistry between the characters plus they are so captivating and great together. There is some drama and lots of emotions with these characters. Julesa is a beautiful and a successful author. Jordan is the son of the most wealthiest family who he is rebelling against. This story has some very intriguing twists and then you have their sizzling passion but they are both unsure of their love for each other. When Jordan ask Julesa to be wife but it's in name only it has serious consequences that's unexpected and just so adorable. Their relationship is explosive with loads of tension but they find everlasting love. I must say this is truly a fantastic story and I'm fan of this author and if you are like myself you will enjoy this story because even the supporting characters are awesome with great chemistry. It's makes a thrilling romance that will bring a smile to your heart which is such a delightful and a pleasurable experience. I'm happy there's more books too read in this series because I hated for this awesome story to be the last one. This is a story that's worth all five stars.
Sometimes hatred and bigotry has unexpected consequences!
Such was the case between Jordan Wainwright a multi-billionaire from a very prejudiced family who finds himself rebelling against his parents for their coldness and their attempts to run his life. The other side of the case is Julesa Simpson a now renown author and the daughter of a former maid of the haughty Wainwright family, come home to bury her aunt and settle her affairs. For reasons of their own they enter into a marital arrangement that quickly turns into love. A medical scare and the threat of being estranged from their son brought the mother around while the dad has begun changing at the wedding. Jordan and Julesa's relationship paved the way for a pairing of one of Jordan's recently divorced sisters and Julesa's brother. Love bloomed and blossomed all over this Members from Money story even to opening up Jordan's parents to the love they once shared. Overall, I enjoyed their story a lot.
Imagine a small town, basically owned by the richest family where everything has their stamps on it and everyone kind works for them… Julesa was the daughter of one of the maids who worked for Jordan’s parents who happened to be snobs and they placed you in your lane do to speak, they believed you stick to your own “kind”…Jordan defied them and married Julesa, when they tried to pick out his bride, and Julesa agreed to avenge her mother and herself because of the way they treated them. You can only imagine their fury, mostly the mother , who is as cold as they came… Julesa was a success in her own right, but that didn’t matter, she was the wrong color and wrong pedigree... What a tangled mess!!! And her haft brother who was very close to her wasn’t too pleased either. But it didn’t take them long to fall in love with each other and because of them, the whole town and the snobbish family became something else all together!!!
I really liked this one the way it started the idea was a bit yuck, but I understand in a lot of ways why both characters did what they did. The writing in this felt more like the Katie Dowe writing and books that I am used to the last few have been good ideas but had a bit of a different writing style or delivery. This quickly turned to unexpected love that starts in a quirky way who become better versions of themselves once they allow themselves to truly open their hearts and love.
Ashame that there is still so much hate in this world for people who are of a different race . I would like to see more common adverge women more Asian men and self made men p!ease go a bit further in your books maybe. A few unknown secret babies, A few twins or triplets unknown give your books a bit of mystery, thrill, your books are good but the best ones were the ones you took a different approach to and made page turners, out of them.
What started out as an arrangement, ended up as something entirely different. Jordan and Julesa needed each other, but didn't know it. Their love grew quietly and could not be denied. Overall a good book with a lot of twists but was worth the read. The more Ms Dowe writes these series, the more developed and interesting they are.
I enjoyed reading the love story of Jordan and Julesa. It began as an arrangement and developed into true love. This novel contains suspicion, Bigotry, racism, loneliness, Faith, hope, dreams, and finding love in unusual situations. I will be recommending this book to everyone I know!!!!
Hatred and ugliness permeated Jordan's home and family; also meaness and bigotry. But the former maid's daughter enters the picture and that is the beginning of changes galore. A near death experience brings even more changes and happy happy are they all.
The author's lack of geographic knowledge put a damper on my enjoyment of the book. There's no way Hawaii is in or near the Caribbean. I have read most of Katie Rose's books but this one had several errors. I hope to enjoy the next book more than this one.
Jordan and Julesa started off with what they was a great plan. The plan turned into a reality. The chemistry between the two of them was off the charts. There was no turning back. The love they shared for one another was blazing. Great read!!!!
Good reading. I thought it was going one way but it seems I was wrong. This book has all the elements of making me love. I had tears, I smiled, I laughed, and I got mad. I just love the way you can say let racism go, and let’s be together.
Felled in love with this book from the first pahe. The story will keep hooked and the chararaters aregreat. Twist and turns just right. Would give 10 stars if I could. Will be buying more from this author.
