Sweet Venom

Rate this book
From the New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a dangerously dark stalker hockey romance.

Can I outrun his merciless obsession?

I accidentally witnessed a brutal murder.
I froze, pretended I saw nothing, hoping I could leave it behind.
But my plan backfired, and my life spiraled downward.
Now, I’m the target of cold-blooded revenge.
Jude Callahan isn’t just a hockey god—he’s a devil no one dares to cross.
My existence disrupts his stardom, prestige, and possible serial killer career choice.
And he’s set out to make me pay for that moment of silence.
No matter how much I run or hide, he finds me, watching from the shadows.
Like a predator.
I thought he’d stop at the stalking.
Or even better, he’d kill me and finally end my misery.
But Jude has other plans.
He says I can’t die. I have to pay for my sins.
And just like that, he drags me into his depraved world, kicking and screaming.

This book can be read on its own but for better understanding of the world, it's recommended to read Beautiful Venom first.

2.5⭐️ I’m begging NO PLEADING Rina Kent to write an FMC that isn’t insufferable. I know she’s capable of it… Rai, Sasha, Mia, Cecily!!!! I LOVE THEM!! But her newer FMCs have genuinely been so bad I want to rip my hair out. This book was better than beautiful venom for me for SURE! I loved Jude even though he wasn’t original he made me giggle and kick my feet like that man was so fine for what?! Preston of course carried this book MY SHAYLAAAAA HIM AND MARCUS ARE ABOUT TO RUIN MY LIFE I NEED THEIR BOOK MORE THAN I NEED AIR!! I genuinely don’t understand why she called this a hockey romance…. They just so happen to play hockey but it has nothing to do with the books. The secret society? Where was it? I’ll say though a bit all over the place there were parts where my jaw was on the floor and I had to keep reading! Violet luckily did grow and I loved that she went to therapy. Even though she annoyed the shit out of me, I was really happy RK finally showed an FMC working through her regurgitated trauma instead of ignoring it and I loveddddd how Jude supported her. So yeah not awful I was entertained but still average.

I read this as a standalone and my expectations were so low they were almost buried in the ground. Tbh I would have enjoyed this book so much more if violet weren’t so pick like and absolutely cringe. I wanted to throw her off a cliff. But icl rinas writing has improved so much since the RES and this was enjoyable but cringe nonetheless.
Jude was also meh but nice and he lowk felt performative 😔🙏🏻
But was it bingeable? Hell yeah
Will I recommend it? Meh maybe.

From Rinks to Ruin — Where Brutal Wins and Hidden Sins Collide 🏒

🩸PREMISE-
One dead body.
One silent girl.
One obsession that spirals into a storm...
She saw something she shouldn't have.
She was supposed to disappear.
Fade into the crowd. Forget what she saw.
But Jude Callahan doesn’t forget.
And he never forgives.
Now she’s the girl who ruined everything.
And he’s the boy who wants to ruin her.
Can she outrun his merciless obsession?👀

✴️ WHAT TO EXPECT (and survive):

🏒 Jude Callahan — Hockey royalty. Fame-soaked. Fury-filled.
💀 Murderer? Possibly.
🧊 Heart? Frostbitten.
👁️ Stare? Predator-grade locked-in.
📍 One witness. No escape.
🚫 Not romance. Punishment with a pretty face.
😳 “I said I’d kill you.” / “Then do it.” — kind of dialogue
🔪 He doesn’t want her dead. He wants her ruined.
🔥 Obsession-level: He memorized her breathing pattern.
👟 Run, hide, scream — he’s always two steps ahead.
🫀 She should be afraid. She should hate him.
Instead, her pulse flutters when he whispers “mine.”

🕸️ THE VIBE?
FMC: I saw him kill someone.
BFF: You need witness protection.
FMC: He followed me into the shower and said I belong to him.
BFF: Girl, you need an exorcism.

Cue: “Bad idea right?” — but the remix is a funeral march. 🎼
You're not reading this book. You're surviving it.
You're gasping, screaming, clutching your pearls like it's 1882.

Now This man?? Reminds me of my favorite demon—Torrance.
And if Rina messes this up?
I’m throwing hands. And hockey pucks. 🔪

I’m not sorry. I was more invested in Jude x Vi in Beautiful Venom than the actual couple. There. I said it!!

They were in the background but giving main character trauma.
Everyone else was busy being dramatic and bleeding on the ice, and these two were just making eye contact like, “I hate you. Now kiss me.”

🩸EXHIBIT A: THE SLAP SEEN AROUND THE VIPER WORLD

Vi: Raises her hand
Jude: Doesn’t flinch, just waits for impact
Vi: Smacks him like she’s been dreaming of it for months
Jude: smiles “Do it again.”
Me: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I KNOW A MAN POSSESSED WHEN I SEE ONE.
He was stiff. He was unreadable. He was an IED with a six-pack. AND THEN VI SAID “NOT TODAY” AND DETONATED HIM WITH A SINGLE PALM TO THE FACE.
you’re holding hands with the villain.
🎭 High-stakes. Low sanity.
💥 One mistake. A thousand consequences.
Can she outrun his obsession?
Or will she just fall for it?
⛓️ Sweet Venom — where enemies don’t become lovers.
They become addicted.

🕷️ Question of the day:
Is it love? Is it vengeance? Or is he just bored and she slapped a serial killer by mistake?
Either way: I’m locked in.
M

Me giving this series a second chance like a toxic ex deserves redemption!!

I said I wouldn’t come back.
But then Jude Callahan showed up like a storm in skates with that silent rage, that lethal calm, and suddenly I’m spiraling into my villain era (again)🚬

🛑Final Warning:

📢RINA. IF YOU MESS THIS UP.
If this turns into “He hurt me but I forgive him after one grovel” or “She moves on and he lets her”—I will write fanfiction so feral Wattpad bans me.

If this book breaks me? I deserved it.
If it redeems the series? I will personally send the author a fruit basket.Give me angst. Give me betrayal. Give me slaps, screams, tears in the rain. And then give me a kiss that makes the whole rink implode.
I am guilty. AGAIN. And I’m SEATED.

Tell me why I listened to this whole book with a huge grin on my face?? RK what sorcery is this???

This was actually so fun, I don't know how to explain it, but this felt like coming home??

I don't know what it is about RK books, but when I read them, I enter this fugue state where I just.. don't care about the absurdity or the cringe and I just vibe yk?😅 This was pure mindless entertainment for me and yes the book did have some flaws, but overall, it was just so fun! (The book does touch upon some sensitive topics, so ofc check TW)

The plot was actually not bad, it kinda reminded me of a trashy soap opera, but in a good way 😅 Days of Our Lives, but make it dark romance 😅

I can see how many readers will hate Violet. She had the survival instincts of a piece of gum and was very very insecure. However, with the way she grew up, I couldn't really blame her yk? I actually liked her and how selfless and kind she was. Did she make some dumb decisions, yeahhhhh but whatever🤣

Jude. He was a psycho. A hot psycho. A hot psycho who got soft for her. A hot psycho who encouraged her to speak up for herself. In conclusion, I loved him what can I say😔 His reason for hating Violet and wanting to kill her was very dumb, but I didn't care that much😅

My absolute favorite part of the whole book was the friendship between Jude, Kane and PRESTONNNNNNN. Omg Preston was so so so funny in this book I absolutely adored him! I love how they are all so protective of him, and how he never called Dahlia by her name but used every other D name he could think of🤣🤣

Overall, if you are a Rina Kent veteran such as myself😅 Then this book will feel familiar. It has her signature humor (between the friend group), the spice, the unhinged characters and all that. I enjoyed this book much more that book one of this series because the characters were more likable for me here.

And ofc, Teddy Hamilton blessed my ears once again🫶

Preston's book is gonna be my favorite I can already telllllll!!!

2.75 ⭐️

Ngl, this book is waaaay better than the first one, but omg… so many scenes felt copied and pasted straight from God of Wrath. Even Jude is giving Jeremy vibes, and Violet is basically Cecily 2.0 😭 The friendship between Preston and Violet? So Ronan-and-Kimberly coded I actually melted 🥹🫶

I liked the book, but a lot of scenes just didn’t hit for me, which is why I’m landing at 2.75 stars. Preston, though?? Every single one of his scenes fed me 🤭 He’s absolutely my favorite, and the Preston–Marcus crumbs??? AHHHH yes please 👀🤭

Violet is miles better than Dahlia 😭 At least she knows how to bite back 💀
Jude is so Jeremy-coded 😭 He’s good… but not great 😭

Honestly, Preston is the only reason I finished this book. That plot twist?? I WAS SHOCKED 👀😭 Like NOOOO PRESTON 😭 But then he came back and blessed us again 🤭 And Marcus’s reaction?? HELLOOOO 👀 YESSS. I adore them.

Tbh, there was nothing special about this book 😭 A few changes here and there, but overall… meh. I liked it, but I didn’t really enjoy it.

And yea, that’s it guys. Love y’all 🫶💚

wow…i actually enjoyed this? when i first started reading, beautiful venom, i knew that that was not gonna be a favorite mine. rina kent’s books over the last couple years have been extremely hit or miss due to the excessive repetition with the plot and the characters. this book—while it’s very similar to every other book in her collection—had a lot of elements that made it more entertaining. i knew that this was a book that i was going to enjoy as soon as i was introduced to these characters in beautiful venom. i did a dual read with the audio and the physical and let me just say…teddy hamilton never fails me.

starting with the obvious here, the character dynamic and the overall plot is very similar to her previous works, so please be aware of that before you start reading. i’m not sure who described this as being similar to god of wrath, but i would argue it’s better. jude is what jeremy THOUGHT he was. this story is a stereotypical boy falls first, who is obsessed with her. unlike her recent works, jude was actually an MMC that i liked and was intrigued by. there are elements of this book that were extremely corny and you can tell that they were written by someone who is a lot older, which is typical in her books lol. otherwise, i’m actually shocked that i had fun reading this. sometimes we just need a brainless plot to fill the void.

as for the romance, i thought it was cute…god bless everyone since miss girl ain’t a virgin. we won. violet is a heroin who is actually able to stand alone and isn’t completely fueled by a man and his obsession with her. her plot and her story are completely separate from jude, which made this a little bit more interesting than her usual books. as for the actual romance plot here, there isn’t a whole lot of action that happens outside of them since jude is extremely committed to violet the second he sees her. she also barely pays attention to anybody since she has her own struggles from her childhood, which is now bleeding into her adult life. she does have the survival instincts of a shoe, making the drama and the tension lackluster. however, given their story, that is an element that i enjoyed since this type of book doesn’t need unnecessary theatrical soap-opera melodrama.

in typical rina style, there is a random mystery plot that is prevalent throughout the entire story which does nothing but fuel weird third act drama. i don’t even remember what was going on with that mystery plot, but to be honest, it wasn’t very relevant to the bigger picture. one of the highlights of this book is definitely preston. preston is a character that is a lot more pertinent given the friendship circle, and the set up for the next book. marcus and preston remind me a lot of jeremy and landon. that was one of the relationship’s that i did want to see flourish on paper, but unfortunately, rina had other ideas. i’m hoping that we see that similar dynamic in the next book because there are so much potential for that to be a good love story. aside from that—this is a feel good easy fun time so don’t expect peak literature, but i was here for a fun time, not a long time.

thank you to my best-friend, vee. i cant wait to read everything with you!

‼️THERE MAY BE SPOILERS‼️

‼️THERE MAY BE SPOILERS‼️

‼️THERE MAY BE SPOILERS‼️

This is the best RK book of 2025 in my honest opinion.

I was cautiously excited for this one because of the crumbs that we got, but I was also a little scared because I didn't love Kiss the Villain or Beautiful Venom. No lie, I spent the entire book just praying for no borderline rape and non-con scenes like in KTV and BV. Thankfully, the scenes we got were consensual and actually kind of hot. Not dissing the other books, but there were certain scenes *cough* chapter six in bv *cough* that had me questioning what the fuck I read.

I have to also say that the pacing was off. And with that, compared to the first book, I didn't get much about the secret society in this one.

While I did somewhat enjoy this plot line and the book in general, I don't really understand the purpose of their whole stalker dynamic. Jude was mad at her because she was just watching while his mother gets stabbed. What, and I mean this in the most polite way ever, did he actually want her to do? He literally went around killing everyone that witnessed the "murder" and the whole thing turned out to be a suicide plot. And the thing is, there was no actual retribution for him about that and it was completely brushed under the rug.

It's so funny but Julian seems to be the sanest of everyone in these books. And he's basically a psychopath, going off what I've seen of him in these two books so far.

Violet has the self-preservation of a toddler, but at least she was self-aware about it. The relationship between Violet and Jude was nice and like I said above, I actually enjoyed it for the most part.

Dahlia saying that she had the hardest time when Violet was in a coma is comedic at best. This girl spent the entire time she was supposed to get revenge sucking Kane's dick in that book. Also, the way she consistently glazes up her (imo weird) boyfriend for absolutely no reason. She's so annoying that I was rolling my eyes every time she opened her mouth.

The Preston and Marcus crumbs are promising, so I'm going to remain cautiously excited for that one.

I just finished, so rtc.

Eh this was genuinely so random. Like i appreciate it’s fiction but the plot was just so bizarre to me. The whole coma situation is so far fetched and ridiculous lmao.
Not to mention I was so bored on multiple occasions, the pacing felt so off. I was truly fighting for my life to get to the end of this book.

Jude was a decent MMC to be fair. Like yeah he’s a standard RK man but I could have really vibed with his character if I’d felt a connection to this story.
Violet was just straight up annoying 🙄 Why do we have to forget to make the FMC likeable? Please. I wanted to feel bad for her but well, I just didn’t care.

I am also still searching for what hockey has to do with anything that happened in this book? The whole concept was just so dumb to me. I didn’t completely hate it, it was just so unbelievable meh and now I’m feeling glum and slumpy.

So anyway it turns out I was missing out on nothing LOL.
I’m happy for everyone who ate this up and vibed with it, I’m just sorry I can’t relate 🥲

➷ slight spoilers for the whole book

- before i start this review, please keep in mind that i’m not just writing this review, to hate. this is just my personal opinion & i don’t have any grudges against rina. ive actually rated two of her books five stars and just because i have a different opinion than you doesn’t mean that you have to threaten me in my comments. thank you.

➵ no one could pay me or brainwash me enough for me to care about these characters. no like actually.
i was genuinely edging myself to the thought of this stupid book ending.
this whole series has been a hot mess of annoying characters, recycled tropes & just horribly written books.

who knew, that a suicidal 20 year old could #fix a 6’5 man with both mommy and daddy issues.

i fear i have more chemistry with my fucking labubu than they had with each other.

Jude’s been tilting his head the entire time, watching me as if I’m a freak show, and maybe I am.
“You’re suicidal?” he asks with a slight squint in his eyes.
“Not really.”
“You are. No one would accept death so easily if they haven’t been constantly thinking about it.”

are we deadass????
i seriously hope not.

so you’re telling me that the author who wrote Sweet Venom is the same person as the one who wrote the Monster trilogy? i refuse to believe that- actually, i think i might get behind the whole ghostwriter theory thing. how is it possible, as an author of so many years, to randomly go through phases were your writing skills decline to rival one of a 14 year old on wattpad?
i was baffled by how poorly written this book was, from the awful character descriptions to the underwhelming settings.

her writing had drastically improved whilst writing the legacy of gods series (eg: god of war) but now it just feels like we are back to zero.
it hasn’t only been this book, it has been the pas two releases of 2025 as well. rina, what’s going on?

“I hesitate, clutching my backpack tighter, then my shoulders hunch and I sit.
On the edge.
Still gripping the straps.”

so dramatic??? and for what???? a backpack??
this whole book felt so overly forced with the whole “dark & camp” writing. every other sentence was written like the one just now.
after a while, it got exhausting.

➵ the reason why this book wasn’t a 1 star was thanks to the plot.
now, was it perfect? HELL NO! was i thoroughly entertained? YES!
i actually really enjoyed the whole dramatics around both of their mothers and the “plot twist” at the end- it was way better than i anticipated on that front.

the book itself was actually SO SLOW at times (😭) it felt like i was rereading the same passages over and over again- but apart from that, the plot was actually kind of (?) there for once!

➷ so now let’s talk about the main event of this book: the characters.

personally, even if it’s a well thought out book with amazing plot twists, jaw dropping descriptions and fantastic writing, BUT the characters are boring and annoying: the book will be 1 star. there! i said it!
characters MAKE or BREAK a book for me, and here it did everything i did not want it to do.

instead of writing a description for each character, i’m just going to compare them to another Rina MMC or FMC just because every. single. one. of these characters are recycled from past ones! here we go bitches;

Violet: cecily knight. - lord have mercy, this girl is the temu version of cecily. not only because they have the same kinks, but also because they love them some buff tattooed men. they’re both shy, closed off and introverted. and usually i would love that (the way i did with cecily) but with violet, it did not just work….the whole suicidal/dark thoughts used to be great. i love kimberly, cecily and ava, but come on. violet brought nothing new to the table. her only personality trait was her trauma (sorry not sorry) and yeah, it’s awful that all of those events scarred her but OH MY GOD she would mention it on every single page.
#cecilycouldneverrrrr

Jude: aiden king - i was going to give him jeremy as his dupe but honestly the more i thought about it, the more i realised someone else was more jere coded.
the reason why i gave this man aiden is because they’re both weirdo obsessed stalkers who fantasise about their girls in the weirdest way- and have some sort of grudge against them. jude was certainly better than aiden but he was still annoying and was not interesting at all (he felt like every rina man blended into one.) boooorrriiiinnggg!! next!!

Dahlia: teal van doren- i’m sorry my queen teal for comparing you to a lowlife peasant like dahlia but she tried to be you so bad that i had to mention it.
dahlia is lowkey the most recycled fmc of all time and the most cringe and desperate one too!!

Kane: jeremy volkov- except he couldn’t be my man in a million years.

Preston: remi / ronan- the reason why i started writing this hate review was because of this motherfucker. couldn’t rina have actually tried to not make him a literal copy and paste of remi???? why does he (preston) also call them “peasants” like remi does & the cherry on top is the way he texts EXACTLY like ronan- because obviously there is the irritating groupchat with the mmc's best friends, where they annoy each other to death and pretend they love one another.
he’s basically them if they tried too hard. i hate him.

matter of fact i hate everyone!!!!!

overall, i would not recommend this book and this whole series- if you want to start with rina start with the RES or LOG series. trust me. and steer clear from this trilogy.

i sincerely hope everyone in this book dies.

Am I the only one who fully got Cecily and Jeremy?? I didn’t hate it but I swear I was getting déjà vu the whole time.
This is honestly pretty tame for Rina Kent and I can say that confidently as someone who’s basically read her entire catalog at this point. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still dark romance, but like… Rina-light.

They were cute, they gave me what I was kind of expecting, but I weirdly think they were WAY more interesting as side characters (that might just be a me thing idk). Like dahlia and Kane were so interesting again😭
We have mommy issues, daddy issues, everybody issues. A full buffet.

Plot wise it was good not her best but she definitely has worse so I’ll take it.
I had a mini panic attack at the end because I knew what was coming but even then it wasn’t shocking because it was kind of expected.

Their chemistry? I liked it. Cute. Fun.
But also… they just weren’t that memorable for me 😭

Now PRESTON???
The most interesting man in this whole book.
He is chaos personified and I love him so much he ate every scene for no reason.
I can’t WAIT for his book 😝

Also I LOVED Violet and Dahlia’s relationship they were honestly adorable together. Violet babies her so much it was so cute.🥹💗

Did I just read a romance novel? Yes
Did I love it? Oh, yes!!
Despite the grammatical errors? Ughhh, yes

⋮ ⌗ ┆𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨:
The characters were so loveable. Violet is such a real character. I know a lot of ppl have found her cringe. I just wanted her to be a bit stronger (yk, strong like Rai Sokolov) but the character development ate it, thanks to Jude. I know of someone just as her. Even I was like her before I was a teen... always looking good in people, always looking out for people, trusting everyone and everything, doing good to people even if it hurt me, putting everyone except me above myself... haaa but that was before reading Pride and Prejudice. Oh God, I need to stop bringing P&P everywhere, but like, seriously, P&P was what brought me into reading, my life changer.

I really liked ! I just felt like this was more a prequel to Preston and Marcus book than anything! And I am feral for their book !!!!!!
The thing here in this book is that I wanted MORE of them together, I felt like we get a lot of them apart either before or after and when they were together we were told about them. I wanted more description of their time together. I want more !

* Adds to "books I will not accept any criticism on" list* This was so beautiful 😭 I honestly didn't think RK could pull off another infinite fucking stars read after the first book but boy was I wrong... This was everything I wanted and more 😭 Jude and Violet have my entire heart ❤️‍🩹 Violet's character has got to be one of my absolute favourite FMCs written by Rina! So much depth, emotion, strength and vulnerability written in such a way that will scar you, I honestly felt like I was living her story with her from how immersed I was in her story, the way she expressed herself, her feelings, how she saw herself to an extent was relatable in a way I wasn't expecting. Then we have Jude ❤️‍🩹🫠 I just need to know how RK writes such fictional men -- I'm out here leaving pieces of my heart in books over morally grey men like no tomorrow -- we shall blame the saviour complex in me but seriously their romance was so beautiful, this book had me in my feels from start to end I NEED MORE 😭😍🫠🥹

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ STALKER STARS... 📚'𝙼𝚈 𝚁𝙴𝚅𝙸𝙴𝚆 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁𝚂'📚 can also be found on my blog: ╰┈➤KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐌°❀⋆.ೃ࿔* Is the second full length dark hockey romance book in the (Vipers) series by author Rina Kent. Spoken in Dual POV's (Jude and Violet)

Of course as soon as this one went live on my ipad it went. I couldn't wait to dive back into this world.

☀︎ Hockey Romance X Secret Society
☀︎ Antihero x Good Girl
☀︎ Enemies to Lovers
☀︎ Boy Obsessed
☀︎ Stalking
☀︎ He Falls First

The first 50% is where we deep dive into Violet's background story, then the last 50% is catch up and what came after she woke up..A few twists and turns which I never saw coming..I was also hoping the author would give us more information about the secret society since that's pivotal to the series, but it wasn't really touched on..

Even though I enjoyed this one, it wasn’t on the same level as the previous book, but still a solid 4 star read..

I expected more from Violets character, from Dahlia’s perspective Violet was the protector throughout their childhood whilst in foster care and beyond, so I expected her to be fierce, but she was the complete opposite, jumping at her own shadow, never holding her ground, scared of the dark, and always on the run..Because of that, I found it hard to connect with her.

When opposites attract..She was on his hit list after her inability to step in when she should’ve, but really what could've she done?? But Jude was a man obsessed, he couldn’t step away, he made moves in the background which tethered her to him.

Jude filled those gaps in the storyline where I found Violet lacking, throw in Preston those times he did make an appearance and that alone was enough to appease me. He's like a deranged labrador puppy..And I am all for it..

And do not get me talking about that time in this I wanted to throw this device, we won’t even mention the tears I shed! No we won’t mention that! When that little twist hit my heart I didn’t know if I could carry on with this book or even the series to be honest. I was out! So I'm glad I carried on and my heart became full again. I wonder if she could hear all us readers cursing her out lol.. 65451226-2019570151487824-6157464638251335680-n

Okay, that definitely hit different. I genuinely enjoyed this book… a lot 😭💚. I loved Jude and Violet even before reading it, and now I love them even more together.

I don’t see violet as weak at all — she’s a girl who went through a lot of childhood trauma, and it pushed her to isolate herself and lose confidence. What I loved the most is how Jude played a big role in helping her change, stand up for herself, and start doing beautiful things for herself, because she finally began to see she deserved it. I adored the moment she slapped him and he laughed, saying how proud he was of her, or when he asked her who she dressed up for and she said “for myself,” and once again he told her he was proud 🥺 Even her suicidal thoughts faded, and she started wanting to live… He did so many good things for her, always supporting her in every moment.

But let’s not forget he did terrify her at some point (and I’m not talking about the stalking — something else entirely). If that hadn’t happened, Jude Callahan would’ve been a complete green flag 😢

Yes, Jude was a stalker at the beginning and kept repeating that he wanted to kill her, but if he truly wanted that, he would’ve done it right away. He couldn’t, because he knew her before the incident — she had helped him, and she’s known for helping everyone around her. Deep down, he knew that if she could, she would’ve helped again.

Sure, Jude is violent, impulsive, loves breaking things and punching people… but he’s incredibly gentle with his girl. He never forced her to do anything, and he even tried to put distance between them (because he learned something 👀). So when Dahlia asked violet, “What do you even see in this brute?” I laughed so hard — because the real brute is Kane 😂. Never judge someone solely based on their outward actions 🙅🏻‍♀️

And ohhh, the twists! There were so many, and I wasn’t expecting them at all. They were super fun and refreshing, and I loved every one of them.

There is absolutely nothing more entertaining than Preston — a true clown 🤡. And he’s still stuck with his issue of mispronouncing every name starting with “D” except Dahlia’s… and now he’s doing it again with every “V” name except violet’s. But he eventually started calling her “Vee,” which was adorable.
Nothing made me laugh like his teasing of Dahlia by calling her “Dakota.” I also loved that he still doesn’t like her and keeps threatening her 🤣 — unlike with Violet. And Jude’s jealousy?? Everything. Absolutely everything 👀🔥

I’m so sad about what happened to Mario 🥹🥹. I can’t get over it, and I really hope he won’t be forgotten so we can know what happens to him.

One thing I wished for is this: just like Jude changed violet, I wanted her to change him more too. Every time she told him to stop, he actually stopped. He did show some change, yes — but I wanted it to be bigger. I know he was raised to be a killer, but I hoped she’d push him to limit that side of him even more, only resorting to it when absolutely forced.

Overall: an emotional, wild, twisty, unexpectedly fun read — with a chaotic, intense couple I genuinely rooted for 💚🔥

╰┈➤ˎˊ˗ 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 🏍️
Learn from my bad choices? Me? Never 😂 That’s why I’m here on release day… and honestly, I just hope it’s good, because I only read the first one for Jude and Violet 💚💀

The QUEEN of DARK ROMANCE 👑🖤 serving another giant morally grey mmc that HATES TO LOVE (and obsess) over his new target! and he’s also a hockey player

“Her disgusting innocence is smudged with my darkness.”

Jude is violent giant on a revenge killing spree but when he catches up to target #7 he gets stumped. He wants to hate her so bad but Violet is kindness personified AND already suicidal. 💔 So when Jude thinks of killing her she’s like “ya that’s fine”, which enrages him further so he begins with intense stalking & basically scares the life back into her. Dark romance where violence meets broken innocence in a tangle of desire & self-love!

🖤✨ he reads her diary & acts out her dark fantasies

I’m a basic bitch when it comes to these romances and I will eat up all the tried and true tropes if well written. This one wasn’t as shockingly smutty but the chemistry between the quiet (traumatized) bookworm fmc & a giant brute mmc was UNDENIABLE! Talk about opposites attract b/c this girl can’t even look him in the eyes & he HATES it!!

🖤✨ hate-fuck WITH PRAISE! *mamma I’m dead*

It starts with fear & genuine hate-filled feelings before transforming into unwanted desire and evolving into unhinged obsession. Rina has this unique ability to write MMCs with mysterious/miserable pasts & rage-filled presents. But as their story unravels they become obsessed with the FMCs and do unhinged things to keep them.

🖤✨ she goes on a date while he is stalking her *she’s braver than me*

I inhaled the first part of the book but the second part felt a little rushed since most of the events were covered in book #1. That being said you need to read the first book before this so you really understand the effects of her coma & mmc’s sad era.

I do find the whole hockey player side plot funny. He's a billionaire heir, killer...but also a hockey player 🙃 Honestly, it kind of works but I see it more as a vehicle for the smutty dark romance...deliver the goods!

this book gives NOTHING. except severe case of irritation🤡😬🤦‍♀️

I can't believe the difference between Jude and Violet, who were teased in book 1, and Jude and Violet, who we actually got in this book! 🤬🤷🏼‍♀️
.
.
.
🛑🛑🛑FULL OF SPOILERS AHEAD!🛑🛑🛑
.
.
.
The pacing was all off: the first 50% happens BEFORE events of book 1, so we already know almost everything that happens here. And anything new was lackluster and silly! Then, in a random chapter, we have a coma episode, followed by her waking up from a coma. She then agrees to be induced into another coma for protection from the hero by the hero's brother. Are you lost yet? 👁👄👁 The hero then finds her and steals her comatose body, his brother steals her back (this all happens in one-two chapters) using GAS to take out the hero😐 After all that delicious drama we make a weird time jump, where this whole body stealing tango is forgotten, the brilliant strategist-brother is dealt with and the heroine is simply going to a new college 🙈💀

The whole situation around the heroine being constantly targeted by a hitman and no one from this "secretive, professional, extremely rich and powerful" secret society of killers can't stop it until Preston, the Parasitic Pest, is killed instead of the heroine 😅 I hated his character, who was a Temu version of Ronan Astor mixed in with his son (who didn't even get his own book in LOG series 🤡) and Nikolai for good measure... But fear not! The Pest is still alive and well🤦‍♀️ 😅 He has risen from the dead in the last chapter with the most bizarre and stupid explanation ever!

The chemistry and tension was where? 🙈 I didn't see it and couldn't understand why I was reading a book about these boring and silly characters. They were competing in unrealistic and completely unrelatable Trauma Dumping Olympics. No idea who took the Gold:

- Jude "forced to kill on the reg since tender age 9 to protect his Mommy, who in turn was so mentally unstable that she tried to kill her only son countless times, but he blocked those memories. Oh, and the killing of the Mommy? Turned out to be a staged suicide" Callahan🆘🚩

- Violet "her Mommy was a coke drug addict and a prostitute, and she forced her to hide in a small, dark, mold-filled closet every time she had a client. The clients were nasty pieces of trash and were violent with her mother and assaulted child-aged heroine when they saw her. Her mother hated her for 'stealing' her future and always told how useless, cursed, and shitty the heroine was💀 Said she's unlovable and worthless. She then died, and the heroine was always SAed in foster homes and by patrons in her workplace" Winters🚩🆘

Listen, this book was trash. But hey, per the majority's request, at least she's not a virgin, and he's not a player, right?💀

"You can heal others, and I’ll protect you, sweetheart."

I honestly can’t choose whether I like Kane or Jude better. I loved them both in their books.

For me, Jude actually wasn’t that bad. At least he felt pretty tame compared to other MMCs Rina has written. I mean, yes, he still stalks Violet and hunts and murders people, but even though he said he wants to kill Violet at first, he never does anything truly hurtful to her (dark romance standards). He falls hard and fast, and the way he treats her is sooo sweet. I loved how proud he was whenever she stood up for herself. Especially in that one scene when she said she wore the dress for herself.
—> Also, he calls her sweetheart.🥹

Violet might not be as memorable an FMC as some others, but I really loved her. Her relationship with Dahlia and later also Preston was so wholesome. I didn’t even care that much about the spicy scenes, because I just enjoyed Jude and Violet’s interactions and all the friend group moments with Kane, Dahlia and Preston.

And the ending! Oh my god. I was so scared, and what happened to Preston completely shocked me! I knew his book was next, so somehow he couldn’t stay dead, but the way it happened made me question everything for a while. I was so glad for that epilogue. And Marcus! He completely lost it when he heard about Preston’s death.
In general, I love how protective they all are over Preston, especially Jude.

"Number 16 hit Preston, so I had to break his legs. I didn’t manage to actually do that and just flattened him against the ice, and so I found my way back to the annoying box."

One of my favorite scenes was the reading of the testament at the end. Preston’s will was honestly hilarious, and the way everything was revealed made me scream!

And once again, Rina Kent made me fall in love not only with Jude, but also with a bunch of side characters. I need a book about Julian & Annalise! And also about Atlas, Preston’s uncle. He only appeared briefly and there’s almost no information about him, but I’m intrigued.

I can’t even describe how excited I am for Tempting Venom. Preston was my favorite in this book and Marcus is so obsessed with him. I know I will love their book. June seems so far away.😭

"My, oh my.” Marcus grins, his eyes shining bright. “Are you angry, my prince?"

"He killed her and the gunman because they took Preston from him. He made it personal. Too personal, actually. We all know, aside from dealing with his family, Marcus never makes anything personal."

tropes:

~> good girl x bad boy
~> rich boy x poor girl
~> secret society (kind of)

dedication:
"For the survivors with scars no one sees, and the ones who choose the light even while standing in the dark."

favorite quotes:

"Vencor. Callahan. Davenport. Armstrong. Osborn. The four pillars of Graystone Ridge. The originators of Vencor. The ones who’ve held this place together—and in their grip—for generations."

"From now on, your life is mine. You don’t get to die or hurt yourself as long as I don’t allow it.” His lips curl into a small smirk, something I’ve never seen on his face before. “I’ll see you around, Violet."

"While you find a response, I want you to do something for me. From now on, you’ll stand up for yourself like you do for Dahlia and others. If you fail to do so, I’ll fuck you in my next target’s blood."

"It wasn’t your kill. He was my target.” “What’s yours is mine, and what’s mine is also mine.” He snatches the bottle of beer. “Where the fuck did you take that loser anyway?"

"I read once that ‘abuse can sometimes feel like love’ and it stuck with me." —> My mind went straight to Kill Switch and Damon Torrance.

"But you can’t die when I haven’t allowed it yet. The only one who gets to cut your lifeline is me. Your fucking god."

"Jude kisses like he speaks, walks, talks, and plays hockey. With violence."

"You’re a monster.“ - „Your monster, sweetheart."

"Did I pull the creep into an alley and bash his head against the wall? Maybe. Listen, I’m a violent man. Someone touches what belongs to me, and I respond in the best way I know how. By inflicting pain."

"A fucking dot? What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Am I… a dot?"

"I don’t give a fuck who your type is. From now on, I’m your only type."

"I remember telling you not to kill my targets, Pres.” “Finders killers.” “It’s finders keepers.” “I meant it the other way. Shut it."

"Sometimes, she’ll have these brutal nightmares, and I find myself sort of… placing my hand on her back, which surprisingly seems to calm her down."

"I adjust my erection and grab her Kindle from the top of the coffee table. All her physical books are some self-help nonsense and human sciences garbage. So I expect her Kindle to reflect that. Wrong."

"Be a good girl and hold on to the handlebars for me."

"You look so beautiful, sweetheart.” His chest covers my back again as he pulls my hair from my face and grabs my jaw. “It’s not the dress, it’s the confidence that comes with the dress. I’m so fucking proud of you."

"I think I’m falling for my stalker."

"And I know that I can handle anything as long as she’s by my side. My demons included."

"You’re the one who made yourself a nook in my life, heart, and soul, and made me feel emotions I thought were impossible. You made me yours in every sense of the word, and I love you, Violet. I’m so far gone for you, I’d rather elope to the ends of the earth with you than live with all the riches and power without you. I know I’m not the easiest man to be around, and we started on the wrong foot, but if you let me, I’ll make you my goddess."

mommy issues galore 🎀

there’s one thing i always applaud rk for and it’s the seamless way she transitions the relationship from stalkerenemies to lovers.

Jude and violet were an interesting couple, they both had issues they were well aware off and violet especially tried to move on and forward with her life. They both had insane trauma with their mothers and it’s evident in their every move. There was no bs push and pull tbh, they knew what they were doing with each other and what they were to each other ✨💓

“I didn’t want to hurt you, but I truly thought you’d be better off without me.”
“Do I look better off?”
“You look like hell.”

now preston???? he’s going to be my main mannnn. his friendship with violet was 🤌🤌🤌 adorable!!! and the crumbs im getting and EATING UP??? Marcus and preston???? I swear im going to be writing fan fictions about them until the release because I NEEDed them to be together like yesterday.

honestly, a solid book! I sometimes wonder if I draw all of rk’s mmc’s in a row - would I be able to tell who’s who??? Tall, dark hair, dressed in black head to toe. But no joke- Jude was lowkey bbyg💓💞 his anger issues were cute but the way he needed violet?? Ugh. And violet was a little stupid when it came to keeping herself alive but she was so strong and selfless and unwaveringly herself. gold star

Yup, this was definitely better than Beautiful Venom. It was more enjoyable to read and significantly less cringey.
While it does feel very much like a copy and paste of Jeremy and Cecily’s story and honestly I usually eat that up it started to bother me in the last 100 pages.
The story became waaaay too predictable, and I found myself a little bored toward the ending, flipping pages and waiting for that signature RK ending.
That’s the main reason this wasn’t a 4⭐️ read for me.
At the end I just wanted to know what happened to Preston.

Violet got on my nerves a few times, her decisions were often questionable and downright infuriating. But at the same time, she’s such a sweet, kind soul with not a bad bone in her body and I can’t help but have a soft spot for her.
Everything she’s endured throughout her life made me sympathize with her deeply. She’s a total mama bear to Dahlia and I loved her kindness towards Laura and her child. Those moments were so sweet.
Violet truly loves helping people and being there for them and that compassion erases a lot of her bad decisions for me, because they always come from thinking about others, even when it doesn’t make sense.
Her and Preston were absolutely adorable, and their conversations made me smile from ear to ear 🥹😍
I wanted deeper conversations between her and Dahlia and more effort from Dahlia towards Violet. After everything they’ve been through I just expected their bond to be stronger.

I really liked Jude as well. His backstory absolutely broke my heart. Finding out what really happened to his mom was devastating, and I kept hoping it wasn’t true. Throughout the book he feels constantly torn between his rage and his emotions.
I loved watching him slowly peel back his layers and allow himself to be vulnerable and loved. He’s ruthless and intense but he would do absolutely anything for Violet just to see her smile.

The romance itself was sweet. They had me blushing and giggling 🥰🤭 but more importantly they truly showed up for each other and supported one another, which I loved. And I liked how they met each other way before what happened to his mom.

Once again Preston carried this book for me.
Every time Jude talked about him and their bond, my heart broke a little more.
I’m beyond desperate for his book at this point it’s not even funny.
And Marcus on his little killing rampage….omg 🫦
I am so seated for their story 🫶🏻

I still don’t understand the purpose of the secret society. It feels so unimportant to me that I literally forgot it existed until Jude mentioned it again at the end.

I did enjoy the hockey aspect, even though it’s not crucial to the plot. Loved to hear Jude’s inner thoughts during the games, how he views the game and his protectiveness over Preston.
And him trying to avoid the penalty box just so Violet could watch him play a full game 🤭

I think I would’ve enjoyed this book more if I’d taken a break between the two books.
At this point I’m a willing captive and I’ll read anything this woman writes and enjoy it 🙈

I love some sweet unhinged heroes who are like cute teddy bears with their girls only 😌 This book is seriously a very modified and better version of her other books. I’m loving how Rina is making her new books better by incorporating readers’ feedback and not adding virgins in her books or making every guy a manwhore. The last thing she needs to stop doing is giving them dead eyes and we’ll be good!

If y’all loved Jeremy/Cecily, then this book is for you. The stalking trope is well done here and exactly similar to how it was done in God of Wrath. Either Jude stalks, or he sends his minion to stalk — either way, he’s getting ALL the reports.

At first I was wondering why he didn’t kill her like he did the other ones:
a) she’s pretty
b) main character duh

But turns out she showed him kindness once (the umbrella scene artwork), and he’s obviously attracted to how someone SO KIND just stood there watching her mother die. I actually devour these types of storylines. It was typical Rina Kent fashion but damn, I loved both characters, and Jude at least had a little bit of respect. I didn’t see him using weird words like “cumbag,” “trash,” or calling girls “holes,” so I think this bare minimum is a WIN WIN?

If you’ve read Book 1, you know Violet was in a coma for 3 months. This book actually showed scenes from before she was in the coma/how it happened, and after-it scenes that start from the end of Book 1. I loved how Jude was getting mad. Ngl, all the claiming/jealousy scenes were sooo good and it felt like I was reading God of Wrath again 😭 with new characters and new backstories.

“Because she chose death to fucking escape me.”

Julian lied to her, claiming that Jude tried to kill him so she became his lab rat for drug studies — weird fr. And with the whole plot twist revolving around it? More weird.

“So, yes, I’m back, even though I truly intended to let her go. Just kidding. I would’ve always only done that temporarily, but still, I was going to avoid contact with her for at least a month. Just kidding again. Because I was around. I couldn’t have avoided her when I’ve been roaming in her environment.”

Love myself an indecisive hero. Jude Callahan is a cutie <333

PRESTON: “It’s called kissing? Something you do a lot of with Daphne, remember?”
KANE: “You stay out of it.”
PRESTON: “No can do. I’m Jude’s defender for life, and I like Vee.”

I seriously loved Preston and Jude’s bond. I shipped them so hard while reading Book 1, but nvm, they’re besties!! And Preston actually liking Violet and being a genuine friend to her was so cute and affectionate. I just died with him being absolutely rude with Dahlia wjsjaj and calling her Dorothy, Dina, Diana — never her real name 😂😂 and ngl, I didn't care much about Dahlia and Kane in this book. The highlights were Preston/Marcus and Julian. Dahlia was literally just there jsjsjs

no hate tho, xoxo

“Come on, don’t make that face. You look so handsome when you smile instead. Besides, this is so much fun.”
Violet’s hand lands on my chest, and I can’t resist the hum that ripples through me. Jesus fuck. Her softness has always been my undoing. She touches me so gently that I’m ready to murder my entire bloodline for her. This ailment needs to be studied.”

AWWWHHHH THIS SCENE WAS SO CUTEEEE!!!! 💕🥺

“Sorry for the trauma dumping.” She smiles awkwardly. “I swear I don’t do this all the time. I guess… I really love talking to you about everything because you’ve always given me a safe space.”
“And I always will. Don’t be sorry for finally using your voice, Violet. I’m here for you.”

Jude and Violet healed each other and were absolute lovebirds. Even though there was a lot of angst and A LOT of push/pull — and that too from Jude’s side because of his mental issues — I loved how calm and understanding Violet was and how self-aware Jude was that he was hurting her.

“As long as you don’t hurt me anymore, I can forgive and forget. But don’t ice me out again.”
“I won’t. I’m sorry, sweetheart. I was having a hard time and didn’t want to burden you with it or take it out on you.”
“That’s the point of having each other, Jude.”
“Okay.”

Seriously, I was thinking about groveling, but Jude never did anything wrong. Well, the ghosting/stalking were weird, but I’m so happy this was a very sweet and raw book rather than pushing dubcon or roleplay on us. I love how emotional and beautiful both Violet and Jude were.
UM I ALSO READ IN A REVIEW THAT IT HAS DUBCON SCENES BUT NOPE?

“I can’t lose you,” he repeats softly, as soft as Jude can speak. “Don’t make me lose you, too, sweetheart. Even if it’s just out of pity, stay with me. Don’t push me away.”

OBSESSED AND DESPERATE JUDE. THE MAN WHO YEARNS IS A MAN WHO EARNS ‼️‼️

in my honest opinion, they both are just so good, the spice level of this book is OKAYISH, not heavy like her other books. I just lovvveeeeed their dynamic and how they both loved one another. I wanted yk more cute scenes though, but it was a little plot heavy.

- About his mother: well, what really happened was that his mother was abusive as well/toxic if I must say, but those were during her episodes and she was mentally unwell. Despite it all, she loved Jude and attempted suicide many times, but she didn’t want to hurt Jude or make him think his mother didn’t love him enough to live for him. She staged her own murder, though it resulted badly and she was stabbed 20 times. It’s seriously so fucked up.

I was a little confused about Jude’s father since he did seem a little caring toward him, but tbh I agree with Jude — no matter how much he’s “okay” now, he did use Jude and made him kill people in his childhood.

And about Lawrence (Preston’s father), their dynamic was giving Aiden/Jonathan vibes. Even while being emotionally unavailable, he did seem to care about his son — especially when he shouted that his ONLY son died. We need some bonding there ‼️

“The audacity to throw a party and not invite my highness.”

UGH [SPOILERS] — tbh Preston’s death scene (fake) and what happens afterward were so sad. Nobody should go through the grief of their best friend’s death and in Marcus’ case, “lover’s.” I genuinely felt so bad for everyone, and even though as a reader I knew he wasn’t dead because duh, it was still sad in the other characters’ POVs. His entry scene was hahahajaj very Landon King-coded and I loved it.

But most importantly, I’m so waiting for Marcus’ POV on all of this — he was obviously torn. There must be a reason, and ngl Preston’s mental health is no joke. I need proper cute scenes of them thank you sm.

Lastly, wdym rina?!!! NO JULIAN ANNALISE CRUMBS 😩

RK’s unavoidable allegations: from copycat criticism to slanders against women. 🚨

good evening, night owls and literary seekers. i’m vee, and this is midnights with vee, the only news hour that reads you the headlines while the candle burns low and the hearts race fast.

BREAKING: sweet venom, romance or re‑hash?

tonight, we’re pulling back the velvet curtain on rina kent, the author whose latest dark romance, sweet venom, has caused murmurs amongst the bookish community.

the plot or the copy‑paste?
our sources say the novel feels eerily familiar, like it could have been lifted straight from the third installment of the legacy of gods series, god of wrath.

jude, the tattooed covered bike rider who is on a killing spree of anyone who was a witness to his mother's murder, is essentially a temu version of jeremy from god of wrath.

- a failed stalker
- a stupid dumbfuck
- has mommy issues

violet, our doormat heroine who avoids violence like a nun avoids chocolate, mirrors cecily with all the nuance of a recycled love letter.

her inner monologues consisted of the following:
- my spine is tingling
- my heart is beating faster
- and vee loses her brain cell everytime

allegation #2: the women slander clause

readers have also lodged a formal complaint against the recurring trope of women as either:

• a doormat female main character
• a mentally unstable mother
• a female villain

the book seems to have taken a dark romance and turned it into a dark misogyny romance, leaving many fans wondering whether the author hates women or simply ran out of imagination.

audio only redemption
despite the whole drama, the audiobook version deserves a nod. narrator teddy hamlinton delivers the lines with such silky tone that even the most tired of us found a sliver of enjoyment.

what’s next?

tempting venom—the next instalment from the vipers series—arrives in 2026. will rina kent finally break the cycle? or give us god of fury or kiss the villain 2.0? stay tuned.

so, dear night readers, if you’re craving a romance that feels something dark and new, maybe wait for the next release. until then, keep your candles lit, your bookmarks ready, and remember: when the plot’s as plain as a soggy toast, the narrator’s voice is the only thing that can keep you from falling asleep.

a huge thank you to manas for reading this with me. i love you!!

this has been vee on midnights with vee. stay dark, stay dramatic.

What the f*** was that?! I‘m disappointed.🫠

2.5-3/5⭐️ 3/5🌶️

I had such a good feeling about this book. I feel like it had so much potential, but there was no tension. In my opinion, Jude is totally unlikable. I still don’t like him.👀 Violet also annoyed me with her “I don’t give a sh*t if I die vibe”. That kinda deflated the whole chemistry. I felt literally nothing while reading. The spice also didn’t convince me and there were some weird time jumps that threw me off. At least the plot twist was “good”, as in every Rina Kent book (but it also didn’t suprise me).

I don’t know something was just off about this book for my personal taste.🧐 This really hurts to say, but this was one of the weakest Rina Kent books that I’ve read so far. I really really liked Beautiful Venom, so my hopes were high, but sadly, Sweet Venom disappointed me. Which doesn’t mean that it was a bad book, it was okay, kinda like 2.5 or 3⭐️-okay, but there‘s nothing worse than “not caring about a book” because the book made me feel no emotions and left me cold/empty.

Let’s see how Tempting Venom will be…🐍

Jude” I’m so proud of you” Callaghan >>>>> Kane.

The way this was waaaaay better than the first book.

I actually really, really, really loved Jude ( emphasis on Jude) and Violet!! I didn’t think I was going to like Jude whatsoever but nonetheless here I am obsessed with that man!! It is criminal how much I love him!! He is one of my top fave Rina Kent men.

And Violet, idc what people say, I loved her and understood/ related to some of her trauma. I was obsessed how Jude helped her come out of her troubles & she was there for him as well. (they gave me Jer & Cecily vibes) I feel like they had a much deeper connection than Kane and Dahlia did in their book.

The plot was actually good and it kept me entertained and the plot twist towards the end made it so much better!!

Preston ahhh!! I need his book now! 😭 he gave me Nikko vibes and I am not mad about it. I just know Marcus and his book is going to be everything!!

Only reason why this isn’t higher for me is that some parts were cringy and unnecessary , especially when Violet kept thinking about her mom’s trauma when thinking / or about to have sex. Also why did Dahlia annoy me so much 😭

At this point I am a Rina Kent addict and will read anything this woman writes 😭

Saw myself through Violet’s eyes and it went downhill from there. This book hit way too close to home i felt like it was written for me.

*the rest of my review will be up once the book is published.

“Call it absurd or illogical or fucking territorial, but Violet’s off-limits to all other men. She’s mine until I slic3 her goddamn throat op3n.”

⤿ rina kent's books are the like toxic exes you can never escape no matter how much you heal lol.

♯ ┆ characters 🪶 ୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ

꒰♟️꒱ violet winters ࣪ – our very cutesy, very demure and very mindful wattpad-coded y/n fmc.

“Violet is a flame in its most delicate form. She’s not a raging and absolutely destructive orange, but she’s blue. Discreet, seemingly safe but actually dangerous. Just like the fucking blue umbrella she put in my hands.”
꒰♟️꒱ jude callahan – our mafia/biker/ceo/alpha wolf/male mmc who’s philosophy in life is “mard ko dard nhi hota” (eng translation: men don’t feel pain)

“See a light at the end of the tunnel, only for it to be me. Their grim reaper.”

♯ ┆ the plot & writing 🪶 ୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ

⤿ ꒰🏛️꒱ it’s rina kent. you know the drill.

she’s also my fav comedian because the way she always needs to reiterate that her characters love each other SOOO MUCH through telling rather than showing (cause she knows the actions would prove otherwise) is peak comedy. rina kent is the gaslighter finalboss.

also, i will say that the timelines and pace of this book were fucking crazy and confusing. i read beautiful venom and still couldn’t understand half of the shit.

but on the brighter side, atleast the s3x scenes were consensual this time, so that’s an improvement in her writing i guess?

♯ ┆ violet & jude 🪶 ୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ

⤿ ꒰🍷꒱ i will present to you a series of pictures, and i can assure you that these are enough to encapsulate the essence of their relationship throughout the entire book.

(okay, enough. i was having too much fun with these lol)

another thing that truly pissed me off about their relationship was how instantly it jumped from "i hate you" to "i love you". there was no gradual transition or progress, but rather just straight up one day transformation that gave me not only whiplash but also made their confessions for each other totally unbelievable.

♯ ┆ what i liked 🪶 ୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ

꒰🗝꒱ that it ended.

♯ ┆ what i disliked 🪶 ୭ ˚. ᵎᵎ

꒰🗝꒱ my toxic attachment to rina kent’s books.
