Immovable: Standing Firm in the Last Days

Rate this book
Are you prepared to stand firm in the last days?

Bible prophecy points to cataclysmic events before the return of Christ. Is it possible that the stage is being set now for some of the events to take place? Are you ready for the challenges and spiritual conflict that are sure to come in the last days? In Immovable: Standing Firm in the Last Days, Dr. Tim Riordan challenges Christians to be prepared for the difficulties and opportunities of living in the last days before the return of Christ. He connects Bible prophecy regarding the last days to the spiritual armor of Ephesians and teaches Christians how to put it on and engage our spiritual enemy. Immovable will serve as a guide as you seek to prepare to stand firm in the days ahead.

Great read and study for all of us recognizing today's violent assault from the forces of hell and looking for ways to stand strong against these attacks. Very interestingly, Dr. Riordan intertwines prophetic elements of the end times with a clear description of each article of the full armor of God. He then summarizes very practical applications in how to put on each piece of armor, to be immovable, in our faith, in the face of increasing troubles as we approach the final days. I would have enjoyed a little more discussion of prophetic events but the purpose of the book was to teach us where our protection comes from and how to use it. He does that extremely well.

Immoveable: Standing Firm in the Last Days by Dr. Tim Riordan is a first reads win and I am giving my honest opinion. Biblical prophecy leading up to the Rapture and the second coming of Christ. Riordan examines prophecies from old and new testament. The rapture and the second coming are two distinct events. Don't know in what order they will occur. There will be lots of false prophets and spiritualists who will interpret the prophecies to their thumbing and not true biblical interpretation. This book reminds me of a text book with references from the Bible.

“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth,” Revelation 6:8
Although I don’t agree with everything in this book, I have to give it five stars for the conviction in the writer’s message, his clear and easy to read style, the effort to include historical information, and the personal touch of anecdotes.
The author believes that we may be in the beginnings of the End Times spoken about in the Bible. This is going to be a time of great tribulation. The author gives guidance for coping with these hard times by keeping the faith. The author relies upon his understanding of the Bible for getting across his message.
“Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time?” Jimi Hendrix. Are we already in the End Times because of all these signs, “Wars and the rumor of war…” and etcetera? Maybe the first tool was a stick used as a club to hit someone. The way they usually teach history is by naming when and where such-and-such war occurred. I’m sure with plagues galloping on a pale horse across Europe during the Dark Ages, the message about the End Times was heard quite often. Mankind has always faced tribulation. The consequences were horrific, but they never brought the Second Coming. Mankind survived and muddled on to the next tribulation.
In my opinion, all of us are eventually going to have our own personal End Times. We all have an expiration sticker. I hope in the afterlife there are also trials and tribulations of sorts; although, on the other side, I would like for there to be no need to buy a lock. Life would be boring for me without challenges. I’m not worried about it; I’m sure the Lord has got it covered.
Suggest this book to your friends in your Bible study group and/or your book club. I’m sure it will provoke a conversation.

This is a book about “EndTimes”. It’s not just a book about prophecy and the end of the Christian Era. Although, it has (dated) world affairs and a comparison to Biblical prophecy, the most intriguing part of the book is the author’s recommendations on how to stand firm in your faith when the world is going crazy around you. If you are interested in keeping your feet planted in you trust in Jesus this book will strengthen your resolve to remain “Immovable”.
