Book Six in The Beautiful Series or Standalone

All Blake Johnson knows is the life of a Marine. After serving his country for eight years, he returns to his family for some rest and rehabilitation. Fighting an internal war, he battles the debate of extending his time in the military to keep serving alongside his brothers and sisters or transitioning back to civilian life and finding a new purpose.

From the moment Audrey Hampton walks into his life, he is drawn to her. Her beauty leaves him breathless and weak in the knees. She kindles a spark of hope deep within his soul, igniting a part of himself he feared was missing. Her never-ending compassion for others opens his heart in a way he never dreamed.

But Audrey is hiding wounds of her own. Returning to Lake Tahoe to care for her ill mother triggers painful childhood memories of her parents’ loveless marriage, reminding her there is no such thing as true love.

Will Blake’s resolve be powerful enough to open Audrey’s sealed heart? Or will Audrey fear the past and risk losing the man who could give her a newfound reason to love?

Can two wounded souls become one?

A Beautiful Purpose by Alicia Rae is a 2014 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is an emotional contemporary romance that will pull at the old heartstrings a little.

Audrey is a young lady raised by a bitter, angry, and resentful mother and a father who does nothing but bark orders and give off his own brand of hateful vibes toward his wife and daughter. When Audrey's mother is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Audrey does her duty and comes home to take care of her.

Audrey has some really nice friends who are all tied up with the Johnson brothers which is how she meets Blake Johnson. When Blake comes home after a stint in the marines, his life is at a crossroads. With no feeling of purpose he feels the military is the best fit for him, but he is sent home for R&R whether he wanted it or not. Now he doesn't know which way to go with his life. But, when he meets Audrey, his purpose seems mapped out for him after all.

I am pretty easy to please for the most part and if the story gels together I'm usually pretty happy. I do have a pet peeve or two, just like many readers and reviewers and one of mine is that you stick to reality where certain laws are concerned. In order to explain my irritation I would have to reveal a critical plot line, so let me put it this way. The premise was wildly romantic, but it would not stand up in a court of law if challenged.

I see what the author was aiming for and she succeeded for the most part. A woman so disappointed and disillusioned by love is determined to see to her only child ends up just as bitter. Her goal was almost met as Audrey grew to believe there was no such thing as love, did not believe in marriage or vows and certainly did not believe in fairy tales. But, Blake Johnson will challenge those beliefs with everything his has. The results of his efforts will have you reaching for a box of tissues. A powerful tale of forgiveness and love conquering all and happy ever afters.

So, although the book was strong throughout and the ending was sweet, there were a few issues that fell into the absolutely implausible zone and just did not work for me because of that. I do think some things could have been reworked a little and still have the same surprise results. Perhaps in future editions of the book. However, since the majority of the book was solid and the author did an awesome job of proving the power of love and forgiveness, I am going to give this one a 3.5 rounded to 4.

Favorite Quotes:

“'Nothing compares to this Audrey,' I said, unable to hold back. ‘Nothing has ever made me feel the way I do when I’m with you. You’re all I see.’”

“You have made me smile, love, and even dream a life full of love. It is beyond anything I could have ever imagined for myself. You are my one and only for eternity.”

“'Love doesn’t need a calendar or a clock, Audrey,’ Lily chimed in. ‘It just needs two people to take a leap of faith and follow their hearts.’”

My Review:

This may be the sixth book in the series, but it is my second read from the Alicia Rae Beautiful series. Another sweet story of finding love when those involved are not looking for it, expecting it, or even aware they needed it. Swoon, I am totally besotted with Blake, although admittedly, I know such a man is a total fantasy as he is really just too good to be true. I appreciate and enjoy the fact that her books are stand-alone volumes, yet we continue to hear about some of the characters from previous books. Her writing is easy to follow, heartfelt, and serves up some steam to go with those hunky heroes – all of which I find ever so tasty.

I LOVED Blake. He was the perfect man! I loved how he chased Audrey and never gave up, even when she was being difficult.

Audrey on the other hand annoyed me a little. I guess I just don't like storylines where the heroine keeps on pushing the hero away. Especially when the hero is nothing but a sweetheart to the heroine. There are so many asshole heros out there that don't deserve the heroine but mostly the nice guys get pushed away.

Other than that, it was a sweet story and a good end to the series.

3.5 Stars!

I'm a total sucker for a man in uniform, and this particular military man is a gem! Blake wasn't afraid to love, and he was patient enough to help his girl come around to the same conclusion. Having the male character be the first to fall in love and have to convince the leading lady to come along was an interestingly different perspective. I liked the maturity of the characters, and the writing in this book was good. A Beautiful Purpose is a straight-forward romance novel with just the teensiest bit of a twist!

I received this for an honest review. Book by book I am falling in love with Alicia Rae. This was such a good book and such a wonderful end to this series. Blake Johnson is leaving the military and the only life he has ever known. Then he meets Aubrey Hampton and is brought to his knees.
I have to say that this book brought me to my knees absolutely a beautiful and wonderful book. This book for me felt like an emotional roller coaster and one I wasn't sure I wanted to get off. This book absolutely pulled at my heartstrings. I am excited to see what is next for Alicia Rae I CANT WAIT!!!

Alicia Rae writes sweet, sexy, and wonderful love stories in the Beautiful series and A Beautiful Purpose is no exception. This story is a tale of hope and love, a love that must overcome past heartache and misconceptions to find its footing and bloom into something powerful and lasting. A Beautiful Purpose is the story of how a woman who doesn’t not believe in true love falls for a man determined to show her that it exists, that it is real and powerful. Blake and Audrey meet at the party celebrating the opening of their friends’ new architectural firm. She is instantly attracted to him but discards the notion that anything would come of it because she truly believes that love is a myth and it cannot exist. Blake meets Audrey and wants nothing more than to get to know her and understand her reservations and thoughts. When you get two people as determined for different things as Blake and Audrey are, you are bound to hit a few bumps on the way. As they continue to get to know each other, there is an undeniable connection that they cannot ignore. Blake’s pursuit does not allow for her to resist what is happening between them. Audrey tries to deny it to everyone including herself but sometimes love takes you by force and you cannot run away.
Audrey and Blake are such great characters. This book is written in dual POVs which allows us to connect deeper with the couple and understand their reservations and fears. Audrey is such an interesting character. She denies the existence of love yet she sees it everyday in the relationships of those closest to her. She was raised in a home that was verbally abusive and unloving, constantly feeling the burden of being unwanted. She learned the value of letting the words and hurt roll of her back, even though they lodged into her mind and heart. She is back in Lake Taboe to take care of her bitter mother as she struggles with cancer, leaving her life behind to come and care for the woman who has never hidden her disdain towards her only child. Seeing the family environment that Audrey endures is heartbreaking. She is a kind, beautiful, and successful woman who finds no unconditional love and acceptance from the ones who are meant to do so, her parents.
Blake is a hero returning from active duty, trying to determine if the Marines is what he should continue in or if it is time to return home. His emotions and thought processes are well played out and real. He has given the last 8 years of his life to protecting his country, fighting a constant enemy with his brothers and sisters in arms. That kind of commitment will always leave a mark, one that he is dealing with every moment. As he starts to set down roots during his 90 days of r&r, Blake begins to dive into civilian life, hoping for answers to his questions and quiet for his overactive and traumatized mind.
The relationship between Audrey and Blake is not an easy one. They click. Their chemistry is undeniable, yet Audrey continues to push him away. She understands that love isn’t real, just a passing fancy that leaves people hurt, angry and bitter. It is because of her childhood and parents that she refuses to fall in love, yet as the two become closer and decide to be friends, she falls hard and doesn’t know what happened. Watching these two work though her past and his uncertainty of the future created a series of events that tied them together in ways they did not see or truly understand.
A Beautiful Purpose focuses on one woman’s struggle to trust completely in the man pursuing her. She must choose to trust that he will love her and his actions and heart will supersede her past reality and hurt from her family. This thematic struggle is real and it leaves many heartbroken and alone in the non literary world around us. A Beautiful Purpose allows the reader to see a glimpse into the human mind and understand why certain people react in this way, portraying real heartache, hurt and process of redemption.
This story was a sweet love story made even better by the secondary characters. We see all the gang from the first five books and see where their lives have grown and relationships have flourished. There are weddings, babies, and flirting that will make you smile in contentment. I loved seeing a community that was strong and flourishing. a true example of how friends and family take care of their own. It was an interesting theme to watch so many couples fall in deep love around Audrey, when she was so sure it didn’t exists. I loved how they often challenged her to open her eyes and take a leap, one that would change her life forever.
The sixth installment to the Beautiful Series is a wonderful story of life, family, love, hope and healing. Audrey and Blake are a couple that will touch your heart. Their story is not all butterflies, but instead of two people who take on their painful pasts to band together and create a beautiful future through love and inner healing. Make sure to check this story out today!

★✩★✩★ 5- The love of a Marine,'nuff said -Stars
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

It was hard to put into words what she had done to me. Seeing her had sparked something deep within me, igniting a flame I's thought burned out long ago.

~Blake Johnson has just returned home after an eight year stint with the Marines for some much needed R & R, and to spend some time with his family. He also has to decide where he is going next with his life; does he re-enlist for another four years, or does he lay down some roots and remain near his brothers as they start families of their own? Plagued with nightmares of his time in the military, but unsure of how to just be a civilian, he meets the one woman able to calm his demons and bring him some peace, she makes him feel things he never thought possible, things he thought himself incapable. But convincing her to give him a chance proves harder than he anticipated. It's a good thing Marines aren't easily deterred.

~Audrey Hampton has returned to Lake Tahoe to care for her terminally ill mother. Being back home with her parents re-opens scars from her past and forces her to remember why she vowed to never open her heart to anyone; love doesn't truly exist, there is no such thing as a happily-ever-after, and marriage is nothing but a bottomless pit of hurt. Even being surrounded by her blissfully happy and completely in love friends does nothing to change her views on relationships, growing up in the middle of her parents destructive marriage shaped her into the woman she is today; cynical, guarded, and completely alone. From the minute she meets Blake she knows she needs to keep her distance, he confuses and scares her, makes her feel things she doesn't want, doesn't need, and doesn't think she can handle. But Blake is persistent and he is determined to prove to Audrey that she is in fact capable of love, she can have the family she has been denied her entire life, and show her what true love is supposed to look like. Can these two damaged souls be just what the other needs, or do their scars run too deep?

Reality check number two slammed into me, sucking the air from my lungs. A cold wave of actuality doused over me, soaking me, and it gave me another reason why I never wanted the relationship my parents had. When the going got tough, everything would fall apart because nothing lasted forever-especially love.

I am a newcomer to the beautiful series, as in, this was my first book. It can be read as a stand-alone, there wasn't ever a time where I was confused or felt like I was behind the curve ~ However ~ I do wish I had read the previous books, a fact I will be rectifying as soon as possible, simply because; after meeting all these fantastic characters, I just HAVE TO see first-hand how they got to where they are today. If their stories are anything like this one, than it's a ride I absolutely must take. Blake and Audrey stole my hearts with this book. Two such damaged people really do deserve to experience some love and companionship in their life, a sense of purpose and calm, and the peace they have never really had before. Their journey isn't an easy one, Audrey can be pretty stubborn when she wants to be, but luckily for them~Blake doesn't give up, he doesn't know how, and he refuses to walk away from what he's after, what he needs, and what he wants more than he has ever wanted anything before. The author did a fantastic job of bringing together a perfect mix of emotions, laughs, intense chemistry and oh-so-sexy sexy time, making you feel everything these characters were going through without drowning you in angst. I loved every damn minute of it. The pace was smooth, the progression believable, and the ending was amazing ~ both of them. Alicia easily secured her spot on my One-Click Addiction List with this amazing group of people and I cannot wait to dive into more.

In such a short time, I was overwhelmed by how much and how fast I had come to truly care for the woman in my arms. I was drawn to her. When she was away, all I could think about was her. When she was near, she ignited feeling in me I'd thought I lost. It was unsettling yet so comforting in the same moment.

Wow what a series end! This was great! Alicia Rae has captured me thru all of her books of this series. From Love, Romance, and suspense.

It started with Lily and Kyle and their love for one another and getting thru pasts. Lily with the death of her family and Kyles past from when he was the service. From here their families have branched together with friends and relatives.

Lily has cousins that are just as passionate as she is. All three of her cousins have found romance connected to her in some way. Jason, Damon and Blake. This is Blakes HEA story.

Blake Johnson comes home for some R & R and sets out to connect with his brothers tormented whether or not to go re-enlist in the Marines. Jason and Damon and Kyle all went into business together and at the grand opening Blake comes to cheer them on and congratulate them. They tell him they can always use another set of hands in the business. Blake goes to the grand opening and he sets his eyes on Audrey Hampton who is there to cheer on the grand opening of Abbeys brother Kyle and Gail fiancé Damon. Blake couldn't tear his eyes away from Audrey as she walked into the celebration.
Blake has been in the Marines for 8 years and hasn't made his plans for the future yet until he met Audrey.

Audrey Hampton lives in San Francisco. She came home three weeks ago to help with her mother Rosanne, who has been diagnosed with terminal Cancer. Her mother and her never were close. Her mother blames her for ruining her life. Audrey came home to help her even though her mother didn't love her but yet she found it in her own heart to love her mother. Her father was the same way. She loved him but there was no love given back to Audrey. Her mother feels since she gotten pregnant she wouldn't have been forced into marrying, Tim Audreys father. Rosanne has made it her goal in Audreys life to make her as unhappy as she is. Audrey has decided the only positive part of being home was the remind her life at home had taught her a lesson in life; don't ever fall in love. Love does not exist.

After Blake met Audrey at the grand opening he is planning on making it his business to get to know her. There was an attraction between the two of them that was just undeniable. Audrey has her walls up and knows what happens when you fall in love but yet on the other hand Blake grew up in a home full of love and compassion for family.

Blake has come to a decision that hes going to do what ever it takes to get to know Audrey and break down the wall she has built around her. Audrey has made up her mind Love does not exist and she will keep away from Blake no matter how she feels. Fairy tales do not exist.

With this all said what happens to Blake and Audrey do they both give it up and stay in their past or do they move on together? Blake is so head strong from being in the marines and it was his job to read people and make an assessment and Audrey has left him shell shocked.

I loved each story of this series. Each character has their own story and each story is different and each story affected me differently. This one had me in tears just the same as Beautiful Thought. Jason and Abbeys story. But this story really made understand forgiveness and that fairy tales do come true. I was a emotional mess reading this. I never thought their love would ever end up this way. I happy cried so hard from reading this and the ending will really tear your heart out. The love is so strong and great from this series.

I give it a full 5+ stars. I was an emotional wreck from it and had the biggest book hangover after reading it. I was left just astounded from the story. If you have read any of the other books in this series you must read this one the final book of Alicia Raes Beautiful Series. It should be the series of a very loving family that all came together and found love. Each book has a remarkable HEA and this one will have you reaching for box after box of tissues. Thank you Alicia for such a wonderful series. Im ready for the next one.

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ***

A Beautiful Purpose is the sixth and final book in the ‘Beautiful’ series by Alicia Rae and is Blake Johnson, Lily’s cousin, and Audrey Hampton best friend of Kyle’s sister Abby story.

Blake Johnson is a good guy. He is home for some much need R&R after eight years in the marines. Military life is all he has known, and being away from it is hard, he is struggling with memories that are haunting him from his military days. When he meets Audrey, she stirs up feelings of hope that he felt were long gone.

“I was drawn to her. When she was away, all I could think about was her. When she was near, she ignited feeling in me I’d thought I lost. It was unsettling yet so comforting in the same moment”

Audrey Hampton is sweet, compassionate, and very guarded; she had returned home to care for her sick mother. She doesn’t have the best relationship with her parents, especially her mother. Audrey's haunted by the memory of her parent’s loveless marriage.

“I had learned in life- love did not exist. It was a fixation of the imagination, the ultimate destroyer of one’s heart"

She doesn’t believe in love, fairy tales and happy ever after until she met Blake, who makes her start to believe, and show her that love is work the risk.

“The way he affected me was too powerful, so I had to keep my distance from him, regardless of the he made me feel. I would under no circumstance, let a man break my rules or my heart”

Blake and Audrey are wonderful characters; their journey was an emotional one. Both are very similar in ways in which they don’t open up easily. Both have their struggles and demons, but their mutual attraction they are drawn to each other. I loved watching their relationship develop, the way Audrey gives him a sense of calm, and the way Blake helps her open up her heart to the possibilities of love, and all that come with it.

“The look he was giving me felt as though he could see right through me.

“My intentions are to show her that fairy tales do exist and that she doesn’t need to be alone forever”

Overall A Beautiful Purpose was such an enjoyable, heartfelt story about love, hope, trust, family, friendship, forgiveness, and letting go of your past. Told from Blake and Audrey POV it was low on the angst and drama, and had a lovely amount of sexy hotness. It was a lovely ending to the series. It’s bittersweet that it has come to an end, as I will miss all the characters that have all grown to have a special place in my heart. The epilogue was lovely as it gives you a glimpse of how everyone is doing. You also get to meet Colton Kingston a character from Alicia soon to be released new series Fate For Love. I have a feeling like myself fans of cowboys will love this one.

If you’ re looking for a romance series that is heartwarming, sexy, low on the drama and angst, with great characters then The Beautiful Series is for you. I have always loved the way that Alicia manages always to deliver well-written stories that pull on your heartstrings, and that capture the essence of romance and true love.

P.S Alicia I may have had to Google what an elephant ear was!! LOL….

From start to finish Ms. Rae's Beautiful series has been an emotional rollercoaster ride for a small group of people who have found a sense of family amongst themselves. Each of the previous couples has struggled to find their HEA and subtly push their last single friends together in this story of forgiveness and not letting the past define you.

Audrey grew up in a house full of hate, indifference, and feelings of unworthiness. From a verbally demanding father to a mother who was emotionally and verbally abusive, Audrey no longer believes in love or HEA. She's been told since the day of her birth that she ruined their lives which made me ache for her. She's a loner who can only count on herself and her small group of friends. When her mother becomes terminally ill she returns home out of guilt, not love, and the hope that her mother will one day admit her love. Being around her mother is emotionally draining and depressing though so her introduction to Blake is a welcome respite from the misery that is her mother. Audrey is a truly good and strong-willed person who's been understandably hurt by her past. She tries to be a good daughter but still stands on her own two feet and made a life for herself. She needs and deserves the compassion Blake offers her but it will take a lot of effort and understanding on his part to get her to believe in that which she's never had.......unconditional love.

Blake is the quintessential hero who's returned home after serving in the military for eight years. He's at a crossroads and unsure of exactly where his life should go. Seeing Audrey and recognizing her pain brings out his protective instincts and gives him something else to focus on. He's suffering from what he's seen in war and is trying to put that behind him as he decides what he wants out of life. There were times Blake was almost too good to be true in his heartfelt words and deeds but you can't help but fall for him. He was unquestionable in his support of Audrey and gave her all the love and support that had been missing from her life. He fixed all her woes which gave her hope in him and his promises but still made for a rocky road to HEA as her mother's poison was pervasive. Blake knows what he wants and doesn't run from a fight. Once he knows what he wants out of life he'll do whatever it takes to get it....and in this case it's Audrey.

This was a powerful story about the effects of abuse on a person's psyche. Audrey is a strong woman but even she was left scarred. Blake's seen his share of emotional wounds and becomes the perfect confidant for Audrey in her healing. Theirs is a sweet yet super sexy journey to acceptance and forgiveness. Only through the power of love can they both move on together. This story is full of twists and turns, some believable with a few over-the-top, but it's always engaging. This story can be read on its own but with each book in the series so well-written you won't want to miss out on a single romantic moment. Ms. Rae has written an intensely emotional story that has readers believing in fairytales and Prince Charming and I highly recommend it to those looking for a story that pulls you along every step of the way.

Audrey hasn't had an easy life, emotionally. She has been taught that love is for fools – that it doesn’t really exist – so she refuses to fall for anyone. From a young age, she decided she would just live her life alone and learn to be content, but she never expected Blake to walk into her life and make her question her decision.

We get a glimpse into Audrey's home life, and I wanted to slap her father and mother silly because of the way they treated her and made her feel. Audrey doesn't seem to have a backbone but I soon realized it's because she has had no love and emotional support from the ones that she so desperately wants it from.

Oh-so-sexy Blake has some hard decisions to make. Stay or keep traveling with the Marines? Even though he wants to stay, his love for the Marines comes first…until the green-eyed beauty steps into his vision and life.

Now Blake's mission is to get to know the mysterious Audrey, but what he doesn't realize is how hard it might be to see the real Audrey. He won't let anything stop him though, especially not Audrey herself.

I loved seeing everything Blake did to break down the walls that were guarding Audrey’s heart, to show her that she was worth loving and that she could love in return and not end up with a broken heart. Towards the end of the book Blake's action had me in tears, but in beautiful way*sighs*.

I love epilogues because it gives me more of the story and this one did not disappoint. In fact, it grabbed my attention and now I must wait patiently for Alicia Rae’s next book. ~ Kara, 4 1/2 Beautifully Sexy Stars

Sometimes, all you want is a sweet, gentle book to make you smile and make you swoon....

When Blake Johnson returns to his family after eight years as a Marine for enforced R&R, he struggles to find purpose in his civilian life...until Audrey.

Audrey Hampton is beautiful inside and out, but life hasn't always been kind to her. All Blake wants is to break down her walls and make her happiness his new purpose, but will she let him?

A Beautiful Purpose is a simple, quick read, and one that gives a soft kind of joy. It's not heavy on drama - although at times it feels like it wants to be - but it has enough going on make reading to the very end a worthwhile endeavor.

I enjoyed this sweet story, but there were moments Blake's POV seemed forced and not so...masculine. Manly? Hard to find the right word, but the end result was a feeling that a woman was in his head, which made it difficult for me to get completely immersed in the story.

However, while that's not ideal, it doesn't change the fact that A Beautiful Purpose is easy on the soul. After several angsty reads, this is a nice way to lighten up your reading world. It's a good, rewarding end to the Beautiful Series, especially for readers loyal from the very beginning.

A Beautiful Purpose is the sixth book in the Beautiful series and can be read standalone. No cliffhanger. ~ Beth, 3.5 stars.

A Beautiful Purpose is the sixth book in Alicia Rae's Beautiful Series, but can easily be read as a standalone. I would recommend starting at the beginning though as the books are fantastic and you don't want to miss a single thing about these characters! I have loved these books since the start, and the characters in this series are some of my all time favorites. I was really intrigued by this book because up until this point, Blake has only been mentioned a few times and we really didn't know much about him. I really enjoyed his story, and it was great getting to know him better.

Blake Johnson has been serving his country as a Marine for the last eight years. But after everything that he has seen and done, he is finally back home for some time off until he decides what to do next. When he meets Audrey Hampton through his brothers and their friends, he is instantly drawn to her. Audrey is closed off though and doesn't allow others in, even her longtime friends. But Blake is determined to get through her tough shell and won't give up easily. The more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. But Audrey is convinced that she will never fall in love or get married after what her parents have put her through for so many years. But can Blake show Audrey that love is worth taking a chance on?

I really liked Blake. He was sweet and kind, loyal and genuine. He was a soldier through and through, and felt that his purpose was to help others and serve his country. I loved how dedicated he was, even when he struggled with what direction his life should take next. He was exactly what Audrey needed, and I was glad that he didn't give up easily. He fought for what he wanted, and he showed Audrey that he was always there for her. Audrey was sweet and loyal as well. She dropped everything in her life in order to help her parents, even when they didn't deserve it. She put up with so much from them and never asked for anything but love in return. I felt so bad for everything that she had been through, and I was so glad that she had Blake to lean on. It was great to see him show her how to have fun and want things for herself for once.

Blake and Audrey were really cute together, and I loved seeing these two get to know one another. They had a lot of chemistry together, and I thought that they were perfect for one another. This series is so great, and I can honestly say that I have enjoyed each story in this series. Alicia Rae always delivers a well written story filled with real and believable characters that are easy to relate to and that you enjoy rooting for. A Beautiful Purpose was no exception, and I honestly can't wait to read more from her in the future. I highly recommend the Beautiful series if you haven't already read these books, and I think they offer something for everyone.

A Beautiful Purpose is the final book in Alicia Rae's Beautiful Series but it can be read as a standalone contemporary romance. If you're familiar with the series then you'll probably remember Audrey and Blake from the brief appearances/mentions of them in previous books.

The book is told in dual POV featuring both quiet, sweet and under appreciated Audrey Hampton and soldier Blake, who is the eldest Johnson brother. Audrey hasn't experienced many happy relationships and doesn't believe that love can last - Blake is detained to prove her wrong.

To be honest I wasn't expecting to like Audrey because often when a character is labelled as being 'good' then they often become boring but I did like her; she's definitely not boring. Audrey suffers from a lack of self-esteem and belief in herself, but she's always really caring and thoughtful with a hidden sassy side.

I haven't met any Marines (it's a long way from the US to England and I can't really justify trip across the Atlantic to look at hot soldiers) but Blake definitely fits the image I have in my head of what a soldier should be like. He's strong, loyal, brave, sexy, determined and caring. Blake's dilemma is an interesting one, which I imagine many people who serve often have to go though (ok not those exact circumstances but still).

There are certain characters who make me forget about wanting angst and being cynical, these two defo manage it. It's always nice when previous characters make appearances and Alicia Rae always manages to interweave her characters well. The series is super sweet and although I have pointed out in past reviews there often seem to be a lot of coincidences in the series, this also what I enjoy about it. Sometimes it's nice to see things come together in such a way without constant drama. Don't get me wrong Audrey and Blake experience their fair share of drama in this book but the angst seems to be there for a reason. Do such fortuitous events really happen? I'm not sure but it works for the series and made me smile...

3.5 - 4 Stars in my Sky!

Being a marine for the last 8 years is the only thing Blake Johnson knows and breathes. Haunted and plagued with memories of his time served over the years he is forced to take a little R&R but he knows without a doubt he is going to re-enlist as soon as possible.....that is until he lays eyes on Audrey Hampton.

 photo PicMonkeyCollage2-2.jpg

Because of the way her parents acted and treated her growing up Audrey does NOT believe in love. She knows the hard way that she must always keep her heart guarded to protect herself....until she meets Blake. She tries to fight her feelings for him but he is determined to not give up on her. If space and time is what she needs than she will get it but Blake is not going away anytime soon. Will Audrey ever open up her heart to love and let Blake in to get the HEA she never thought was possible? Will Blake change the minds of more than just Audrey to prove that love really does exist?

I can't believe this is really the end of the Beautiful series and even though I am heartbroken that ending was absolutely PERFECT!!! I loved every single character in the Beautiful series and I loved catching up on everyone in ABP. That snippet at the end about Colton and Paige gives me hope that we may get a small glimpse on everyone in the future (at least my fingers are crossed that we will!!) Amazing job Alicia Rae on such a beautiful series!! I can't wait to see what you come up with in the future!!

I fell in love with The Beautiful series in Book one Beautiful Chances. It was a book that you sighed when you finished. It gave you a feel good factor when you read it, a book that stays with you long after you've read it. it a book that you could read again and again and each time feeling like its the first time you have read it.

The whole Beautiful Series is the same, and this one A Beautiful Purpose is no different. This is the last one in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. I would recommend you read as part of the series. I also think sometimes when an author writes a series of books by maybe the 3rd or 4th book you begin to get bored and think enough already this is getting dragged out, THIS IS SO NOT THE CASE with this series. Each book feels like the first one. Alicia Rae has done an EXCEPTIONALLY STUNNING job with this series.

*** This is your warning, you NEED supplies with this one***

I don't know what I am going to do now this series has ended. This book pulled at every emotion I had. I LOVED everything about it. I am looking forward to what is next for Alicia Rae. I loved that Alicia has all the right ingredients with all her books, Alpha men, romance, angst, emotional. If Alicia owned a cake shop there would be queues around the block.

This book plays out like a movie in your head, in HD, Dolby Surround sound. It's a film playing out in your head that you can't and don't want to press pause on. You feel like your on the side lines watching it unfold. If you ask me which was my favourite out of all the books, my answer would be all of them.

Alicia, Thank you for an amazing Book/series. It has been emotional, enthralling, fantastic characters and it's exceptionally written.

This gets 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

READ THIS BOOK! YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY!

Audrey Hampton lived with knowing her father never had ANY time for her or her mother. He was career military until an accident caused him to retire early. Her mother always blamed Audrey for ruining her life. She always told her that all men will do is break your heart. Audrey no longer believed in love because there was no love for her, no happily ever after either. Can Audrey get beyond a lifetime of her mother's tough love to allow herself to love and be loved?

From the moment Blake Johnson saw her, he was hooked. His brothers told him she was very closed off but he needed to earn her trust and get to know her. Will he have enough patience and persistence to break down her walls?

If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would. I highly recommend this wonderful love story! It's a true down to your soul, non-sappy romance with strong characters. I literally had to take a break from reading because I started to cry...hard. There were happy parts and sad-happy parts. There was a feeling of satisfaction after reading the last page. Blake Johnson has my vote for book boyfriend of the year. The man has the patience of a saint. All I'll say about Audrey is that she's damn lucky to have a man like Blake. Alicia Rae, you are amazing! Thank you.

This is one of those books where things are so sweet, but also a bit frustrating. But you'll find that the sweet outweighs the rest, and the result is a wonderful contemporary romance with a male lead that will steal your heart.

Blake is pretty much the definition of perfect. In addition to the hot and sexy factor, he's intelligent, loyal, knows exactly what to say-and not just to Audrey...and just everything about him will make you swoon. Audrey is a sweet girl with plenty of love to give-if she wasn't so marked by her parents' relationship. When the two of them start to interact, they fit together perfectly-so for me, Audrey's constant pushing back with her falling back on the "no such thing as true love" excuse was frustrating and did wear on me a bit.

But the story is so well told, flowing easily and keeping my interest the whole way through, that I can overlook Audrey's less than enthusiastic outlook on love. And even though this book is part of the Beautiful series, it is able to be read as a standalone. It is nice though, getting to see the characters from previous books as their stories continue.

The epilogue at the end was just a little too much "tie it up with a bow", but it still adds to the overall sweet romance theme going on through the story. And while this is sweet, you also will get a nice bit of spice thrown in for good measure ;-)

An overall 4-star read for me, and a great conclusion to the Beautiful series.

It was bittersweet for this series to end. However it certainly ended with a bang! It was amazing to see Blake and the love he shared for everyone around him. Audrey's life made me feel heartbroken. Nobody should have to deal with what she did. This story showed that even broken relationships can heal with the right amount of effort and time. The way Blake claimed Audrey was adorable. He understood her so well and let her take her time to open up to him and he gave her so much love.
She could not resist so much love. I mean who could? He made her believe in love once again and I love him for that. Audrey was so giving as well even if she didn't realise that. She saved Blake as well in her own way. He wanted to keep on reenlisting but, she made him realise that his home is where his heart is and that he can have the best of both worlds.
He got more comfortable in his surroundings and she got more comfortable with people. They both changed for the better. I love how all the couples were so suited for each other. It was like they were tailer made for each other. Both the epilogues were amazing and heart warming. I want to find the love they have found. I want to find a guy as amazing as the four guys we have met over the course of the series. A new story was born in the last epilogue. Alicia Rae never keeps us from being hungry for more and interested.

MY REVIEW.

I found this book to be a beautiful sweet read with such a feel good ending it left me with a smile.
A beautiful purpose is a book that absolutely pulled at my heartstrings, it felt like an emotional roller coaster that had me sad, angry, and so loved up i didnt want it to finish.

All the characters are so well written, they could have been friends, real down to earth characters.
Audrey's parents really had my hackles up for most of the book, im mean really how could they treat her like that, but i guess they did redeem themselves in the end with a little nudge from Blake.

Blake is such a beautiful man, he is a male lead that will steal your heart for sure.
Audrey is a sweet girl with plenty of love to give, even though she hasnt really been shown any for her whole life.
When Blake and Audrey start to interact, they fit together perfectly, they are a really lovey couple, so Audrey's constant inner dialogue with her falling back on the there's no such thing as true love, was just a little repetitive. Which i did find so frustrating and did wear on me, at times i just wanted to scream at her to get over it!.

Over all this was a nice easy read and a lovely way to pass a few hour and escape into the sweet world of Audrey and Blake's love story.

Sometimes a story or stories can capture you so completely that they allow the world around you to dissolve while you escape into their pages. This whole series has been a captivating and endearing journey.

I just couldn’t get enough of this family. I laughed, I cried and fell in love with all the characters.

Beautiful Purpose is a gripping end to this amazing series. It hooked me from the start and took me on a steamy‚ emotional and entertaining. The story simply provides you with the perfect balance of everything you love.

I absolutely loved the writing, how it was filled with heart and ease at the same time. The characters development is once again remarkable. Alicia did once again an amazing job with the storyline. Just loved it.

And she done it again... WOW. I just must thank Alicia Rae for sharing this amazing series with us, it took me on one hell of a journey. Not only was it this amazing love between boy and girl but she touched real issues like the lost of family members, adoption, autism, emotional abuse and cancer with her golden pen she not only told the story but made me feel all the emotions. I loved how she blends all of the characters together and make them feel like family and your friend next door.

Blake and Audrey's story was my favourite of them all it was funny, sad and heart felt. I just LOVED the paintball scene it was so sweet and funny. My heart broke for Audrey the things she went through with her mom and dad's emotional abuse and to think that this is real issues that so many children have to go through.

I will keep this family close in my heat for a very long time.

I truly love this series. I have fell in love with the characters of these family and friends. I was so excited when I found out Blake was getting his story. He has been the mysterious brother/cousin who has been away. I couldn't wait to learn more about him.

I was not disappointed. Rae has a way with words to say the least. Her writing is beautiful and flows nicely. I loved the epilogue and the peek into the future. I can't wait for the new series that Rae will be releasing. It is one of my favorite things about an author, I can read and read her work and never tire. Blake's story is everything I wanted and more. If you haven't read this series, it's a must. You will fall in love with this family as much as I have. The romance and witty humor are amazing.

Review done for Hooked on Books

4 out of 5 stars

Audrey Hampton has never been loved. Her parents never showed her any love growing up, so she has doesn’t believe in it. She keeps her heart closed off.

Blake Johnson is back home after serving eight years in the Marines. He has no idea what he wants out of life anymore. That is until he meets Audrey. He has never had the feelings he has with Audrey and he wants so much more.

Proving to Audrey that she is deserving and capable of love is a challenge. Blake will not back down and does everything he can to teach her about real love.

This was a sweet, romantic novel. I really enjoyed Blake and Audrey, as well as the other characters from the previous books.

I definitely recommend this book to read.
