This story is explosive right from the beginning. I absolutely loved it and finished reading it in less than a day. The plot is plotting! Levi and Chari meet during a mission abroad. What happens when a one night stand (technically, a one afternoon stand) ends in an unexpected pregnancy?
"I wouldn’t throw Levi Waters out of bed for eating cookies, that’s for sure."

Fast forwards, almost four years later and Levi comes face to face with a little girl that has his dimples and his eyes. Chari kept her a secret... and my heart ached for Levi.
Now the bad guys are close, much closer than Levi and Chari thought.

This story has it all. It's a rollercoaster of emotions.
“I’ve spent my whole life in the military. Those men out there? They’re my brothers. My family. But this?” He gestured between them, toward Jules. “This is different. This is—” His throat worked. “This is what I didn’t know I was missing.” Chari’s vision blurred. She swallowed hard, her fingers tightening on the doorframe. “Levi⁠—” “She called me Daddy.”

There's family (The McKinley brothers), a strong sisterhood, found family within the Operators, banter, unicorn races, mac-n-cheese dinners, the sweetest little 3 year old, Jules, and a very much deserved HEA.
“Mama?”
“Hmm?”
“If Levi’s our Levi now…” She chewed thoughtfully. “Does that mean he gets to live with us?”

Levi is an intense love story filled with danger, emotion, steam, second chances, and found family. Part of the La Spezia world of The Four X’s, Levi carries his responsibilities with honor and bravery. This story starts off with a literal bang, and the adrenaline runs hot and heavy throughout this story. Chari is a real and relatable female lead filled with passion and purpose. Though I disagree with how she avoids telling Levi her truth, I LOVE the scene where he discovers he is a father. It is precious and priceless. The moments of family love and humor woven into this intense thriller are beautifully crafted, and watching Levi and Chari reconnect and actually work on building their relationship with each other is so satisfying. In true Bella Stone fashion, the hits keep on coming, and the conclusion is epic. I don’t know how she does it, but she always selects the perfect narrators to provide duet narration for her stories, and this is no exception. The powerful delivery and emotional performances of the various roles is wonderfully done, sucking listeners straight into the heart of the story as if we are right there living it with them.

We are back in La Spezia with the Four X guys and the story starts with a bang. I just love how Bella Stone is merging action with characters where you immediately have a connection to. It is not always be rosy but I think that is what makes her books so great for me.

When a one-afternoon-stand ends in a surprise which Levi discovers 4 years later when Chari is threatened, it brings another operator to his knees. I love how they both slowly move forwards when both realise that the old attraction is still there.
The middle part of the book is quite slow but as usual with the Four X crew and Ms Stone's guys in general, you have banter, letting of steam in a way you wouldn't think and an amazing feeling of found and blood family.

The last 20% really got me when the action restarted. That part hurt but it's just showing much more depth these characters have.

And now she added Chaos to the mix, I can't wait what will happen at the compound.

Bella Stone know how to capture your attention from page one. She definitely puts you at the edge of your seat with your heart pounding in your chest as the fast-paced, dangerous action plays out. Levi and Chari are at odds over the mission and their adrenaline dump plays out in a way neither could have imagined. Fast forward four years and they meet again under entirely different circumstances but now she's got a secret. One she'd like to keep to herself but, good luck with that. He's suddenly shoved into a situation that he has no experience or expertise in. It's definitely "flying by the seat of his pants" time but he's all in. Now he just needs to convince Chari of his level of commitment. An old nemesis makes a bold move that stuns the Four X's group but they rally and do what they do best....take care od business. This time with the help of some old friends. Outstanding reading from cover to cover.

Second chance

This book has an explosive beginning that grabbed my attention and held me captive until the end.

The story is filled with danger and suspense, a strong family bond between the McKinley brothers and a found family bond with the Operators they work with and rely upon to have their backs.

Chari is shocked to learn that Levi is part of the team that needs her intel and who is offering her and her 3-year old daughter Jules safety. The resemblance between Jules and Levi makes it pretty obvious who the baby daddy is and watching the warrior learn how to be a daddy is drool-inspiring.

Jules is an absolutely adorable 3-year old who wraps Levi around her little finger in no time. There is humor and emotional depth to this book that balances out the suspense and adrenaline rush.

Brilliant narration from Andi Eloise and Tor Thom, both bring the action, suspense, humour and chemistry to your ears


Levi and Chari may have clashed while on a mission four years, they also had a hot afternoon together. Parting waves and bit expecting to meet again. Even if one of them is caring a secret.
Fate loves to play games and the two of them meet again. Chari hiding her secret and Levi finding himself having to step up to the plate and showing his commitment. Two stubborn people, with fire and heart.
Just and when the dust may settle an old enemy reappears.
Danger, suspense, chemistry, family and a great second chance.

Good firefight action to start off the story, followed by a near rape although she consented. That ruined the story for me. Also I don't believe that any female goes into a war zone without being on birth control. I also don't believe they magically reconnect 4 years later.

He's all butt hurt that she never told him. Maybe he could have reached out to her if he missed her. So much drama over a 15 minute fuck. He hasn't seen or talked to her in 4 years but now he 'has a family'. Maybe help us bridge the gap a bit. I don't need a chapter on installing a car seat. I don't care about the military action or the suspense, nor do I care about them.

Nemo

Bella Stone does it again. Another great read that I could not put down about the 4x group. Make sure you have a beverage or a cup of espresso because you are going to need it. When a secret child is revealed and kept safe will Levi step up? And when there is a crisis it will not only be Italy but another group that answers the call for a rescue. I read in one sitting and I am never disappointed.

I have enjoyed this entire series and sorry to see it end but have faith the we’ll see all of them again (at least I hope so).
Levi and Chari, like the others in the Four X’s series, meet in a difficult circumstance and part never expecting to meet again. Their journey is not smooth but the roller coaster ride will keep you on the edge and you’ll find yourself rooting for them.
Oh Bella, I will miss this group but will reread the series again and again.

Just finished reading this and Wow! Action and thrills, terrifying scenes that had me scared to breathe. War, threats, thraught nerves and so much more. Honestly I could say so much about this story but I am not going to risk spoilers so suffice to say if you like action, hero's and strong feisty women not afraid to take a risk then this is for you, Enjoy it as much as I have. Now to let my heart and blood pressure calm down. Explosive.

Author writes inter-related series where one character becomes a secondary character and reappears in later works. Not a negative just a warning. Best if you find the first of related books in the series to keep track of who and what. Some people can read them out of order and not miss anything, but I had to go back to find the beginning. Characters are engaging and plots center around special forces operators and their loved ones. Definitely worth the read.

A second chance / Secret Child romance.
As always lots of fun - blow up unicorn racing not so much glitter this time. But still an all round good romp with lots of action and some intensity!

I really enjoyed Nemo’s(Levi) story. It been a minute since I read a XXXX book, so it took me some time to remember the brothers and S.O.s in the group. But it was a good read with a surprise right at the beginning and things just kept moving along. Hopefully the next book is as much fun as this one!

Bella Stone - you did it again. This is another beautifully written tale of connections, explosions and love. Levi and Chari might come together during war and their time apart always wondering about each other but it is when they finally reunite that love pulls them through the darkest of times. Loved the connection, loved the brotherhood and loved that a little human can bring a man to his knees. A fabulous addition to the series.
