I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review from the author.

I found myself drawn to the cover, and when I read the synopsis I was hooked. The problem? 1 copy in the giveaway and a LOT of entries. So when the author emailed me I was excited to give this a try.

My first thoughts when reading it was that it was very clear that English was a second language to the author. Some of the sentences were a tad bit awkward.

How was it possible for me to bear such mighty power? With one foul strike I had managed to hurl a heavy beast several meters away.

And then other sentences were fine.

Where do bad folks go when they die?
No heaven awaits them, say to it goodbye.

That being said it was pretty good for someone who English is not their first language.

Despite the rocky moments that I had with the writing, I soon found myself caring what happened to the characters. Do they get out safely? Do they recover their memories? The character building was there and I felt done well.

I really enjoyed watching the characters grow, and while the writing leaves a bit to be desired, the story line was good, just a tad bit messy in the execution. It is the story of redemption, love and friendship and despite its flaws I couldn't stop until the end.

I received e-book from author in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has been written so well with each detail described so amazingly. Love the battles between characters and their demons for second chance in life. Will they get second chance or not if they did will they be better and change their lives this time?

Definitely recommend this to others.
Thank you Suren Fant for chance to read your book.

I received this e-book from author in exchange for an honest review.

It took me a while to finally read this book.
I wasn't in a mood for this kind of novel, and in the end I was nicely surprised with this one.
First, since english is not my spoken language, and when I write something in english I make some mistakes, and often use weird words in sentences,so I was able to identify with author's way of writing.
It wasn't bad...it was different and weird.
But I love weird books,so it kind of worked for me.

This is a story about Jonathan.
One day he waked up in desert with no memory at all, nothing about who he is or why he's even there.
He ends up in weird old town, and saves Elizabeth who is in the same predicament.
They realized that town is hounted with demons and they need to run now and run fast as far as they can if they want to live.

This book was solid read for me!
3.5 stars!

Have you lived your life as well as you think? Have you tried to be the best person you can be? Do you think before acting on a selfish deed or do you think, it wasn’t THAT bad… What if you found you had died and were trapped in “town” representing the realm between Heaven and Hell? Everyone has their own special house, your private hell?

With his memories gone, lost in a barren landscape, one man finds his perceived salvation may be the worst nightmare he has ever faced, because once you enter, you can never leave this empty town. Rescuing a young woman in the same predicament, they find a bond between them that makes each want to live, want to be better, but the demons that guard the town make escape impossible, besides, where would they go? Only with the help of an old combat pilot can Jonathan and Elizabeth hope to find the secret passage out, but can they survive the monsters that stand in their way? How does good conquer evil when the evil has come from within? Is it possible to have a do over in life to right the wrongs you have committed? How do you say you’re sorry when you’re dead or dying? One way in, no way out, or is there? What is the ultimate sacrifice that will remove you from your eternal hell?

Suren Hakobyan has taken an often questioned topic, given it life and populated his world with normal people, ill-equipped to deal with their circumstances, as he allows us to ponder the same things as his characters as their memories of their pasts come to the surface. What if you found out you were a monster, yourself? Thought-provoking, simply written and far from a fast-paced action thriller. To appreciate Edge of End, savor it, dissect it and reach your own conclusions.

Edge of End by Suren Hakobyan is a completely unique take on living, the afterlife and the power of reflection and regret for what was lost or wasted during your life. Is there a point when all hope is lost? Can one truly go back and atone? Is this “limbo”created through the scientific advances in prolonging life?

I received an ebook copy of this story from the author after I entered the giveaway for this book and did not win. At first I had received an unedited copy, but a few days later the author emailed me to provide the final edited copy of the novel, which is what I am reviewing here.

Edge of End is a story about a man who wakes up in the desert with no memory. He stumbles into a town that seems completely abandoned. In the town he finds a woman named Elizabeth who is in the same predicament, no memories, woke up in the desert, etc. They realize the awful truth about the town and that they need to escape as soon as possible. The town is crawling with demons who will do anything to stop them from leaving...

The story here is interesting. It isn't amazing, it is just interesting. If I were to review the story itself and nothing else, I would give it a 3 star rating. Good, not great, not bad. Worth a read if this is your kind of thing.

The reason I am giving this book 2 stars instead of 3 is because of the writing+grammar (yes, even the edited final copy had many mistakes). If a really good editor were to get a hold of this book it would be much improved. So many times when reading a sentence, I would think to myself 'no one actually uses that word!' or find the same adjective used to describe something 3 sentences in a row. It is so distracting when you are trying to read something, I kept trying to correct what I saw to be mistakes, thinking 'it would work much better if the author had phrased it like this'. I shouldn't have to do that when reading a book.

I got a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
The cover and synopsis pulled me in. And it mostly delivered my expectations- except that it was a bit slow, and took a while to actually get into.
The story sometimes lagged, and I often took breaks from it to do other things, but I eventually did get into the book a bit more.
The writing was okay, especially considering that English was not the authors first language, and I ended up liking the book- I just wish it was a bit more engaging at points.

I would like to thank the author again for sending me this book. I always love these opportunities.

I want to start off by saying I loved the concept of this book. This was unlike anything I have read and that alone made it interesting. The main character Jonathan woke up in an unearthly desert not remembering anything of his past just outside of a town that held demons trying to kill him. He ran into obstacle after obstacle to get thru this town that is basically a pre hell purgatory trying to get to this light that would save his soul. Initially I thought he was defeating his enemies too quickly and had no real set backs, even taking into account he had super human powers in this place, but as I read on that changed and the ending was a real battle for him where he didn't just punch something and move on, he actually got hurt and had to have help. There were various demons, devils, and monsters that attacked him throughout this journey, which I loved.

Now I will explain my 3 star rating, which comes largely from the fact this novel had so many technical difficulties. It's very obvious that this book needs an editor, and all those mess ups (misplaced or missing words, sentences repeatedly ending the same, misused words where it seemed the author didn't know what the word meant) made the book hard to read. Also, the word town was hi-lighted almost every time it appeared which was really distracting.

Now onto things about the actual story that really bothered me, starting with the main female character Elizabeth. She was totally the cliché girl who can't do anything by herself and needs a big strong man to come rescue her. She was supposed to be an important character but she was so 2 dimensional that it seemed she was just there because he needed a female in the story. I couldn't connect with her as I do with most characters when I read because she was just a name and not a person. (She did turn more into a person at the end when she got her powers but by then it was too late for me to establish a relationship with her.)
To top that off, the relationship between her and Jonathan seemed fake, they were instantly in love. It would have been more pleasing to me had the author drawn out their getting close to one another so that it would have made more sense. I realize they are in this hellish place where emotions are running high and it's easier to connect because they only have each other, but even so, it didn't work.

At the end of the book when Jonathan woke up in the hospital having made it to this mysterious light in the town, he found Elizabeth basically with the snap of his fingers (she was in the same hospital), which to me was an obvious end that was easy to see coming. It would have been a mind blower to not find her at all. Or perhaps it's at least super hard to find her? Perhaps she's actually his ex wife's best friend so she gives him the big fuck you and they don't end up together? Anything but the obvious.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the swearing in the book was off-putting. I'm someone who swears daily but this swearing felt forced and made the character interactions seem awkward to me.

Even if it seems like I have a lot of negatives to say about this book, I still enjoyed it.

I received this as an e-book in exchange for an honest review from the author.

When I started reading the book, I was pretty much excited because the synopsis seemed intriguing and it gave me a somewhat The Maze Runner feel. Moreover, it had quite a lot of 5-star reviews too and that just increased my excitement. However, I guess it just wasn't my cup of tea. It wasn't terrible, per say, but there were a bit too many faults in it which I couldn't overlook:

1. The writing style. Okay, the writing style was in fact good. All the fighting scenes were described quite well and the descriptions were amazing. But, once you really get into the book, it's immediately obvious to you that English isn't a language the author is comfortable in. A lot of times words were used in a sentence when they didn't even really fit there or make sense. Maybe if a good editor could proofread this book, it would become way better.

2. The plot. While the plot itself was very well thought-out, it wasn't executed that well. At times, everything got over too quickly and the main character – Jonathan – would easily defeat all the monsters he was fighting. Though I understand he has some superhuman strength and powers, it all still seemed too unbelievable.

3. The dialogues. The conversation between Elizabeth and Jonathan seemed too unrealistic and the frequent use of swear words by Jonathan was unsettling. I don't have any problem with swear words being used; it's just the way they were used after every sentence, when they weren't even needed, that irked me.

4. The characters. Though I liked Jonathan, I couldn't tolerate Elizabeth. She was a perfect example of a damsel in distress who needed her knight in shining armour to come and save her. She was too easily frightened, was too feminine (in the stereotypical way) and I just couldn't relate with her. Also, the love between Jonathan and Elizabeth didn't feel real. It seemed based on their looks and I didn't get it.

Despite saying all that, I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 because I know that there is potential in this book if only it could overcome some minor flaws. I was still interested in knowing what would happen to the characters and how the plot would turn out. Moreover, it had a beautiful message in the end which I think cannot be ignored.

I don't really recommend it to anyone but if the language and the characters could be improved a bit, this book can turn out to be a nice read, considering how it kept me wondering what would happen next.

***(I Received the eBook free as a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review)***

This book was strange to put it lightly! It follows the story of Jonathan who is basically dumped in the middle of nowhere with no memories and no idea what to do next. This is all the synopsis says and I think this is the kind of book where it works well when you go into the book without much knowledge so you work it all out while reading and can guess as much as you want as you go along.

But I will say that is incredibly insightful; exploring not just the meaning of life but the consequences of how we live it and while some might not like this so much if they’re reading simply for entertainment, I thought it added much needed importance to the story, because other aspects didn’t match up.

For example the characters, who I’ll be honest, didn’t sit well with me. They were all very one-sided including Jonathan but it was Elizabeth who really stuck out. She is the typical whining heroine who can’t hold her own and cowers behind the man every time there’s so much as a change of wind. Ever so quickly she grew on my nerves, and every time she opened her mouth when I hoped it would be different and when it wasn’t I was irritated even more.

My other main problem was the amount of fight scenes. I am a girl who loves a good and bloody fight in a book to keep my interest, but it was overdone in this book and became very repetitive. That’s not to say it wasn’t written well because it was easy to visualise even when the writing wasn’t grammatically perfect (keep in mind English isn’t the author’s first language). But being all hand-to-hand made it hard to have much variety and looking back I think the book could have been shorter or the plot more developed if they cut half the fighting.

Overall, Edge of End is nothing like I’ve read before and this originality was only detracted from by the characters who were instead very stereo-typical. I still believe it’s worth a shot either way.

Are you kidding me???
I am never going to read reviews of the book before reading the book. I saw all the 2-3 stars reviews and I clicked on the book with half heart "I'm going to waste my time on another ordinary bad-written book."

You have to be joking.. I told myself as I went through the first page.
I have recently read a book who was 5 stars on Goodreads and I can tell you it was kitsch, full of clichees, I felt like I wasted two days of my life and my memory for nothing.

BUT THIS BOOK!!!!

How can anyone rate this under 4 stars? What can you want more? This was just perfect.. yeah sure, few grammar mistakes but english is not even his first language. cut him some slack and stop looking at the cracks, just view it's beauty.

It's been such a long time since I've been hooked on a book from the very first page... THIS IS BRILLIANT! It's awesome and he's writing technique.. Oh my!!! I LOVED IT! ADORED IT!

I know it's not fair to others because I've read the book already, but if I'd win this at the giveaway I swear, even my Grand-grand-grandchildren will have to read it!

Dear Mr. Suren Fant,

Please get this book really really famous. I want to see a movie coming out from it. And please do continue writing, it was PERFECT. I held my breath from the first to the last page.

AMAZING! if you have the chance, buy it and then read it and then read it again (it's THAT good)

So happy I got to read such an amazing story..

I received this ebook via the author Suren Fant in exchange for a honest review.

I entered into this giveaway with the hopes of winning this book Edge of End and im really happy that i got a chance to read it before hand.

I can honestly say that i rated this a two stars out of a five, because i was just disappointed.

this book is about a man named jonathon or so we presume to come to know, because he wakes up in this town called morfinis meaning Deaths End with no clue as to who he is or who he was by his memory loss and we gather that because of the visions of being called jonathon.

later we meet Malcolm, who has been there for what seems like a eternity, now Malcolm is a pretty cool character because even though we aren't told much about his background story just that he did some unmentionables in the war and therefor is being punished in this place called morfinis this is what we know to be a place between heaven and hell where demons and creatures lurk around trying to tempt those that arrive to enter into their own houses so that they may never leave.

so now we have come across a girl named Elizabeth who is just like Jonathon, no memory of who she was and why she is there and so on and so forth, they end up forming a love interest because since jonathon did not enter his house he has obtained these supernatural powers that can provide him a way to escape this town of hell and this is where we are at now, jonathon enters into her house because of a vision he gets and saves her from this dog/demon that is attacking her and ends up this whole time protecting her til the very end when all along malcolm keeps telling him to leave her behind that the town has rules and they will not let her leave because she is too weak.

In order to leave this place you must travel to the light at the farthest end that is also the most dangerous because of all the demons and devils that forbid you to leave.

Malcolm finally gives in and helps them escape because he see's that a love can exist in the hell of a town and makes him repent in a way so in all he makes jonathon just promise one thing he will do for him when he gets back to earth and returns to his body.

I felt disappointed reading this as i mentioned because everything was clearly over detailed and the way the author spoke down to the reader was unnecessary, i didn't feel drawn to the characters because so little was mentioned, there was more mentioned about the way the houses and demons looked than anything else. there was a lot of repetitiveness as well which was annoying.

It feels like watching those really bad movies it's pure enjoyment ;)

Some thoughts:

1. The first few pages feels like dejavu from reading that one particular famous book/movie.

2. As everybody had mentioned in their reviews, YES this book will definitely benefit from PROPER editorial, considering some linguistics misses and things that could've been described much better, much more or much less, with proper editorial. (ex: cultural differences in describing something in different languages, on and on dictation of Jonathan's powers everytime he punch something, etc etc)

3. Storywise it's very interesting and it has potentials if further explored. Though it's somewhat classic second-chance-in-life story (this type of story was big in the 90s), the author has succeed in making the book a page-turning experience. I cant explain why, but it got me forcing my eyes open at 3 am out of curiosity of what's gonna happen next.

4. Character development are not well explored, in my opinion. It's rather easy to judge/dislike the characters because readers don't get involved deeply as to how and why they do things, reasons and motivations, etc etc. Jonathan and Elizabeth sounds a lot like the typical piece-of-meat with no real depth. Same goes with the romance parts.

5. The ending don't sit well with me. So Jonathan was an evil person in his life, but then in "second" life he got to build a whole new life, totally disregarding wholly the fact that he still has a broken family, beaten wife, brokenhearted child etc and no try-fix-and-be-better or anything that sounds like repentance. And the fact that Elizabeth got her second chance mostly from other person's effort? What happened there?

All and all, i think this was an OK book, mostly because of the stellar story idea. Putting all critics aside when reading, this makes an easy reading with no further/deeper thoughts type thing :)

Got offered this book in exchange for a review from the author via goodreads!

OMG! Wow this book was actually amazing and right up my alley I just enjoyed it so much.

It was fast paced full of action, and mystery and I had no idea how the ending was going to turn out from the way the plot was paced with action right to the end. I also love how cause of what happened here this guy was able to have a second chance at life and change it around for the better!

Great characters too I just overall can't put into words what I thought of this book other than JUST AMAZING!

Thanks for giving me the chance to read it!

"Edge of End" isn't so much about second chances, as about realising your mistakes, fighting hard to put them right, taking control of your life and moving on. There's a little bit of Suren Fant's "Jonathan" in all of us.

The story line is easy to follow, but that's not to say the story itself is simple. If you're just reading for entertainment, you'll probably miss the best parts. On the other hand, if you like to think about what you're reading, you'll get a great deal more out of this book.

The character count is limited, but the few that do appear are well rounded and solidly thought out.

Very, very good.

I was given this book for review and found it interesting, intriguing and thought provoking.

It is about a man who is thrust into the unknown, his memories lost and must battle the mystery of his surroundings and the creatures within - but is he battling himself?

This story is unusual and although some of the English needs attention, its style and flow are very good and held my interest until the end.

A good read, which explore lessons on the meaning of life and how we live it - can we change and what could be the consequences of our decisions?

Different.

First of all i wanted to thank Suren Hakobyan for giving me a chance to read his book.
I really dont get it why people gave this book low ratings, because i think it was such an amazing book. i really liked the idea about the afterlife. and it taught me that i should appreciate the time I'm living in because not all of us are given second chances.
The only thing that bothered me a little was the writing style but fortunately i got used to it after about 5 chapters. XD

Edge of End by Suren Hakobyan is about a man who finds himself alone in a desert. He can't remember anything about who he is or why he is here, but the nearby town seems to hold all the clues he needs to get back his memory. Though, he can't seem to find anyone to answer his questions. Eventually, he meets Elizabeth and Malcolm, other residents of this town that provide lackluster answers, and unfortunately their presence can only offer more questions.

I like the beginning of the book; it draws us in with curiosity. Especially from a character perspective; even he doesn't know what's going on, so we learn about him and his history together.

I think that Jonathan is a very strong character. He is confident that he wants to find out what has happened to himself and his only real plan is to get out of the town. I like the way that, though Malcolm is kind of rude and a jerk, Jonathan is still willing to accept his help and even later perform a favour for him. As for Malcolm, I think he was unnecessarily vague in the beginning. It would be ever so easy for him to tell Jonathan the reasons why they're in the town and give him information. I felt that Mangaliny, the barwoman, was underutilized. It just seemed like she was only in a few minor portions and then mostly irrelevant for the rest of the book. I liked the little relationship between Jonathan and Elizabeth. I think it was somewhat sweet that they felt somewhat connected because of the situation they'd found themselves in. I felt that she was a fairly realistic character. However, she was a little bit on the needy side; having to rely on others' help to get saved from monsters. It's not just the one time, either. Throughout the story, she has to get saved multiple times and it just felt like she didn't have enough character development to make her truly a great character. I also felt it kind of obvious the circumstances of the bath scene when they were first mentioned, especially in comparison to Jonathan's visuals. I think that her background could have had a better mystery surrounding her life. I thought it odd, in some portions, that they meet so few other people. Especially considering the circumstances in which one might end up in the town. Though, I guess I can sort of understand, just based on the way the author has explained the situations. I think that, though there are few characters, the author uses them pretty well.

The overall plot was fairly interesting to me. I liked the idea of the town and the reasons for the characters to be there. I know I'm being vague right now, but I'm trying to get away without spoiling it for anyone. Overall, I wish that there were a little more history about the town and, while the characters are trying to escape, that they ought to learn a little more. It just felt like there are a lot of unanswered questions. For example, is there just this one town for everyone on the planet, or is this just for Americans? Were there towns before this? I ask this because they seem to find cars about the place and, obviously if the town were developed many hundreds of years ago, than there wouldn't be cars. I have more questions, but I'll leave it there. I think that the story was reasonably well paced and the mystery doesn't get revealed too quickly. However, in some portions, it kind of gets a little repetitive with their conversations and actions. For example, many times, Elizabeth and Jonathan start talking about the reasons why they're there and she mentions that she's been seeing her visions about the bath, at which point he mentions his own visions about the alley. I think that getting out of that realm was a little underwhelming and the ending of the book felt a little bit rushed. However, the one main thing I did like about the plot was that there were essentially only two storylines to follow; the reasons why these characters are in the town and how they're going to get out of it. Even the relationship between Jonathan and Elizabeth didn't seem to be too major, which I appreciated because it didn't take over the book; it was just a simple pairing between two people whose souls have found each other (quite literally!).

Overall, I liked the book quite a bit. I found that the characters felt fairly natural and they acted properly for their situations; they didn't do anything too stupid. The plot was fairly original and I liked that the book didn't really follow any traditional structure, both points being based on what I've read in the past. I think it was a pretty good book, definitely worth four stars. Received a free eCopy in exchange for an honest review.

UPDATE:

So as it turns out, after corresponding with the author, I had received the unedited version of this book the first time round. Therefore, my review about the grammar issues no longer applies.

After reading the official copy, I now raise my Rating from 2 to 3.5 stars. Although the grammar and editing was much better in the official version, my opinions about the characters and story have not changed.

Even though I personally did not enjoy this book that much, I know many people that would find this story enjoyable.

***

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book I'm exchange that I give an honest review.

I was very excited to read this story. The summary had me intrigued and I was desperate to find out what happens. Unfortunately, I didn't find this book as amazing as I hoped it would be. The prologue was written very poorly to start with. The first third of the book has terrible grammar and I found mistakes on almost every page. I know the author translates his own books into English, but I feel like he needs better editors, as the writing in most of the book was very poor and made my experience with the book less enjoyable.

The main character Jonathan also didn't appeal to me much. He warmed up to me after a while, but I felt like he was very 2 dimensional up until half way through.

The portrayal of Elizabeth, the leading lady, also made me cringe. I found her to be stereotypically written as the part of the helpless girl needing to be saved by magical boy. That turned around at the end however, where after much helpless whimpering she finally drops that damsel in distress card. I'm not saying a damsel in distress in books is bad, It's just in my personal opinion I feel like this book could have used better in depth characters, not just fairy tale stereotypes. The only character that I feel doesn't fit under this, is Malcolm. He was probably the only one I didn't mind reading about.

Overall, the premise of the story was good but the writing, the very predictable ending and 2 dimensional characters ruined it for me.

From the Description:

Jonathan wakes up in a desert, his past wiped from his head. He’s alone having no clue who and what he is, where he has come from and where he should go. There is only one way – forward when he spots a little town in the distance.

Empty streets, old houses, the town seems abandoned. There’s no one to ask for help, there’s nowhere to go. Jonathan wanders the town in search of any sign of life trying to bring his lost memories back, but odd visions haunt him from time to time. Soon Jonathan comes to the realization that he’s moments from death as absolutely evil dwells in the town seeking fresh souls to suck up. The seemingly dead town is only outwardly empty.

Grey skies, no sun, no days and no nights. The town is stuck in time. With only one entrance and one exit, but the way leading to the exit is filled with creations that Jonathan has never envisioned, even in his worst nightmares.

Who is he? Who brought him here? With a female resident – Elizabeth, Jonathan has to work his way through the horrendous town, figure out his past and find the exit.

Let me start off by saying that I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I spent a good bit of this book wondering wait, what? Every time I thought I knew what was going on the main character received a new superpower and had to rescue the damsel in distress. Because evidently the only strong women in this town were demons. I found the storyline hard to follow and when I could follow it it was condescending and preachy. And if you hadn't figured out that we are all sinners destined for hell by the end, there is a handy authors note to let you know. I just can't recommend this one to anyone. 2 stars

This book would benefit greatly from a good editor. The language used was awkward and often incorrect words were used like in a bad translation. I could overlook this if the story was enjoyable but it really wasn't. It was offensively misogynistic. Our hero Jonathan saves the Elizabeth from being raped by a monster. Unsurprisingly, her shirt is ripped off in the struggle. After ogling her assets (seriously) he is a gentleman and gives her his shirt. As the story continues, Elizabeth shrieks and panics in every conflict and runs off putting herself in further danger. Jonathan repeatedly rescues her from her own stupidity and uselessness, but hey she's hot as he keeps reminding us, so he wants to save her. He would save her, they would kiss, she would giggle.(eyeroll) The language used to describe Elizabeth made my blood boil. She is a "weak and sensitive woman" modest, pure, and soft but he could tell that she wanted him by her "sensual" gaze. She depends on him completely as she is not capable in any way of helping herself. It is a terrible case of insta-love as they both have an immediate deep connection with no explanation.
The gist of the story is that Jonathan is given a chance to redeem himself for the horrible things he has done in his life, which include murder and beating his wife and child. I fail to see how the purely selfish act of saving Elizabeth because she is beautiful and helpless makes him a hero and absolves him of his crimes.

This book is told from the perspectives of Jonathan, a middle age man who awakens in an austere, God-forsaken place. He has no memory of himself or where he's been. He questions what this place is. Is it death? A place where human experiments are conducted? There is no way for him to understand because , just as he encounters a person or a place which may hold the answers, things turn nightmarish and confusing. His frustration and confusion is palatable. The rich descriptions are were beautiful yet strange. This desolate alter-reality was so well depicted I could not shake the dark, dusty town and the lurking danger in every scene. Early in the story, Jonathan meets a woman who finds herself in the same state of consciousness, together they embark on a journey to find their way out, to find themselves. They encounter frightening obstacles and events that hint at why they've ended up here. With many unexpected plot twists and this dark, alter reality I was at times reminded of The Road. The book strayed from McCarthy with its connection to paranormal and science fiction. Well-written and compelling.

**I was given a free electronic version of this book in exchange for a review.**

This is the story of a man named Johnathan who finds himself in god knows where without any memories. Honestly, I feel like this is one of those books that it's best to go into without much knowledge, so that's all I'll say.

For the most part, I enjoyed 'Edge of End' but I do have a few problems with this book.

First, the writing is a bit clunky, but it doesn't make the story difficult to understand. Keep in minenglish is not the author's first language, so if you're a stickler for perfect diction, you might want skip this one.

Second, the female character, Elizabeth, is really unappealing. She's the stereotypical whiny heroine that can't do anything for herself and I found myself getting more and more irritated with get every time she opened her mouth.

Finally, I felt like the fight scenes were very repetitive, but that's hard to avoid when it's all hand to hand combat, so no big deal.

Overall, I would say that the uniqueness of the story makes this book worth the read, so don't miss out.

I received this in exchange of a honest review.

I really don't know how to start this. I like it, but a the same time i didn't.
I think it was a great idea for a book but I also think it wasn't well developed. I think it was really fast, not much details, and in a lot of situations it all resolve really easy in my opinion.

The things I really like about the book.
Malcom, I think it was a great character, it was my favorite character.
The idea of the town with houses that are like your own prision.
The different kind of demons and monsters.
The coffe shop and the girl/demon, but I really was hoping knowing more about her.

Things that i didn't like.
Elizabeth, I really, really hate her, I thought she was weak and always crying and doing really stupid things.
The relationship Jonathan/Elizabeth, to fast and I just didn't like it.
How kind of easy and fast things resolve.
I really wanted to know more about Jonathan past.

I honestly think this idea for the book about this limbo between earth and hell, and the souls, the prisions/houses, all that was good, just not well developed.

Suren Fant is becoming one of my favorite authors really fast.
Not only is he a good writer, but he is also an extremely nice man.
He sent me this book so that I can give it an honest review.

I started reading this and I just couldn't put it down. I don't want to give away much of the story line, this book is unique to me. I guess it helps that some of the ideas in there are how I feel as well. It was well written and there was a lot of detail to every action. Suren Fant paints a very clear picture for you as you read.

I personally love reading any book that Suren Fant writes because he has so many unique ideas and has a way with words. I don't even know how to properly describe how amazing this book is.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for something unique to read. Honestly, there were a few parts that actually sent chills through me.

Amazing work Suren Fant. Keep these amazing books coming.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal).

Edge of End is the story of man who suddenly wakes up in an unfamiliar world with no apparent way out and no memory of who he is. This world he's thrown into is full of malevolent forces out to prevent him from leaving. Along the way, he meets various characters who help him understand the ways of the world and how to escape. A multitude of questions are answered on this journey, to include what purpose the world serves, how it came to be, and what awaits those who escape this world. The author did an amazing job building and describing the world. This is a story of self-discovery and second chances. It truly is a story that makes a reader think. Is it possible for a person to start over with a clean slate and escape the sins of their past? It kept my interest as a reader until the very end.

This was not what I had expected it to be.

I went into this thinking it was a dystopian, end of the world, last people alive type scenario, but I was very wrong.

This was a really unique storyline, not something I've read before, and I really enjoyed it.

I loved the ending, I loved the growth of the main character. And it is always refreshing to see a book that's not afraid to have the main character be a monster, a horrible person. I think that is why I loved watching him grow and learn so much, because I found out with him some of the horrid things he had done. Seeing him redeem himself and save another 2 in the process was great.

A second chance, yet how often do you actually get that? In this world of Greed, hatred, liars, cheaters and the "man" who will do anything to get what he wants including killing how can one change? He has to want it with all his heart. This book will keep you guessing as to what lies ahead and what a second chance just might cost you. You may even get a glimpse of what kind of evil may even be waiting in the wings for those of us who try to succeed and those of us who fail. Great read, Highly recommended.

3.5*

I received this book in a GR giveaway in return for an honest review, and somehow wound up beta-reading it.

Jonathan wakes up in a desert with no idea of who is is, where he is or how he got there. But there is only one way to go, and that is towards the town he can see in the distance.

And that is when his problems start; for although the town appears deserted, it has inhabitants, and is determined to keep them all, including Jonathan.

Thank you Suren for the opportunity to read your book, which, despite being far outside the genres I usually read, I enjoyed.
