Too many secrets. A blurred line between protection and possession. And a love story built on obsession, betrayal, and impossible loyalty—where no one is entirely good, nothing is truly safe, and every choice comes with a price.
ISABELLE Twelve years ago, I made a mistake—the kind you don’t confess to your priest. One night. No names. No strings. Just heat, bad judgment, and a man I never planned to see again. Then I found out who he was: Luca Abruzzo. Future head of the Abruzzo crime family. So I did the smart thing—I avoided him. For years. I built my career, raised my son, and made damn sure our paths never crossed. It worked—until my investigation landed too close to his business. Until I ran into him. Until I woke up with a ring on my finger. Apparently, I’m the new Mrs. Abruzzo. And there’s no getting out. At least not until the case is over.
LUCA I didn’t know she was in my city. Didn’t know the woman I never forgot was the Chief Deputy DA, building a case that could take my family down. My father said, Handle it. He meant the mafia way. I went off script. She didn’t take it well—stormed into my office like she still had options. I told her it’s temporary. That once the case is over, she’s free. I lied. Because no matter how loud she yells or how fast she runs, some ties don’t break. Some choices don’t undo themselves. I’ll always be part of her life. Whether she wants me or not.
Hi! I’m E.A. Miller, and I write dark, emotional romance filled with complicated characters, sharp tension, and messy love stories that don’t play by the rules.
I’m here for morally gray men, high-stakes attraction, and heroines who make dangerous choices and own them. If you like heat, heartbreak, and a little emotional damage before the happily ever after, you're my kind of reader.
Entwined Lies is the literary equivalent of overhearing a juicy conversation in a café and realizing it’s actually your life. E.A. Miller spins a web of secrets so tangled, I needed a corkboard and red string just to keep up—and I loved it. Every chapter ends with a gasp, a revelation, or someone making a very questionable life choice (bless them). The characters are messy in the best way, the twists come faster than my emotional recovery time, and just when I thought I had it all figured out… Miller handed me a plot twist with a smirk.
Highly recommend for fans of drama, betrayal, and yelling “WHAT?!” at your book at 2 a.m.
I read this as an ARC so didn’t set my bar too high for both the smut and the dark romance but OMG I was so wrong ( first time for everything I guess!)!!! This book has become my favourite book of the year so far and I don’t hand that title out easily. From the authors notes right through to the epilogue I was giggling thanks to the wittiness of the author and her amazing characters. Don’t be fooled though this isn’t a feel good book, my heart was in my mouth at points as I gasped from all the twists and turns but I also swooned so hard thanks to Luca, I’m now wondering why I’m not with the head of the mafia (jokes if any heads of the mafia or my husband is reading this I’m happily married).
With this book you are going to get good quality smut that is smutting, let’s be honest that’s the main reason we read. You get some amazing tropes, fantastic characters who have great personalities and character build up and the plot is pretty good too.
I could shout from the rooftops about how much I loved this book and I highly recommend you give it a read yourself as you’ll love it too .
The only downside to this book is now I’m in a reading slump because it was so good and I can’t decide what I need to read next. The author could obviously make this better by writing a book about Enzo!
This was my second ARC Read! I was so grateful to be able to read this debut book for you!
This book from the beginning had me hooked and kept me reeled in! If you love Mafia boss, mystery, spicy🥵🌶️, girl boss, dark romance & more then definitely read this book! Also added Luca to my book boyfriends list🤭 I’m excited to see more from this author! And can’t wait for book 2!
Isabelle and Luca, constantly drawn together even after a one night stand 12 years ago. I loved how their story progressed and it was the perfect mix of plot, action and romance. Hope to see more from Nina, Enzo and Chrissy in the future.
What a fantastic debut! Entwined Lies completely pulled me in with its sizzling chemistry and forbidden romance.
Luca and Isabella have serious history, and now they’re on opposite sides of the law—he’s the acting Don of his mafia family, and she’s the assistant DA. Both are tough, stubborn, and impossible to look away from. Their chemistry? Off the charts.
I really loved both main characters, and while the focus stayed mostly on them, I do wish we had a bit more from the side characters. Enzo (Luca’s second) and Chrissy (Isabella’s ride-or-die friend) were great additions and the mysterious Nina. I hope we get more of them in future books.
One small thing I noticed—the dual POV gave us insight into both Luca and Isabella’s perspectives, which I liked, but it sometimes felt a bit repetitive. Many scenes were retold from both sides back-to-back, which occasionally slowed the pacing.
The sex scenes were passionate, juicy, and intense—some just not for me( but each to his own), but it wasn’t overwhelming or off-putting. Just enough spice to keep things fiery.
The writing flowed really well, and it was an easy, addictive read. I flew through it.
Super excited to see what E.A. Miller writes next!
Entwined Lies was my first mafia romance book, as I tend to read a lot of fantasy romance/romantasy. That being said, I wasn't sure I was going to like it going into it. I had saw "enemies to lovers" and said sign me up. However, I'm glad I gave it a chance because I did end up loving this book and devoured it in only three days.
The plot was fast-paced and engaging, the characters were well-crafted, and the writing pulled me in from very early on. I found myself constantly on the edge of my seat, eager and anxuous to read what came next.
If you are a fan of mafia romance books, morally grey men, and enjoyable spice, then I'd highly recommend giving Entwined Lies a shot.
Thank you to the author for an ARC copy, and congratulations on your debut novel!
ENTWINED LIES BY E.A MILLER. BOOK 1. OUT NOW. 5 HUGE ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨s. HOLY SMOKES LUCA ABRUZZO 🔥 Trigger warning are in place for this book. "If I'm going to hell for this you're getting dragged down with me. Buckle up, bring a rosary, and maybe say a prayer- we're beyond saving now" 🤣 love it. This book is amazing and it's right up my street. The characters are perfect and couldn't of been written any more perfect. Loved luca so much and loved isabelle. Loved her fire and her sass. Life got put on hold to finish this book. Italian mafia and spice = perfection. Chefs kiss 🤌 I highly highly recommend this book. I can't wait for book 2 I need it like NOW. And did I mention I give this book 5 ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
I liked this book, great first debut novel. The writing flows well, that said I did have a few personal gripes.
Chapter 24 felt unnecessarily long for what was essentially one blow job, I don’t mind spice, but this section dragged, seriously!! how long does it take. Similarly, there’s a breath play scene that was a little too graphic for my taste, pushed past my comfort zone.
One other thing: I felt like the son’s introduction came too late in the book. I would have liked more family dynamics within the book
Still, I really enjoyed this book and will read more of this author.
Woo okay where to begin?! I was privileged enough to be an early reader for this book and let me tell you holy damn .
The beginning started off like a smoulder , so much so I had blue balls by the time we finally got some spice but it made it so worth it. The rollercoaster that Luca and Isabelle ride to re-find each other is intense and covered with blood … literally
Isabelle bending her own morals for the safety of her family and love of Luca was done so well *chefs kiss* 💋 there was no 180 flip where her personality changes and your left spinning it was just that … a BEND
🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 / 5

Let’s start off and just say LUCA AND ISABELLE. These characters were written phenomenally. The angst between this two was palpable.
Luca, oh Luca. The way you go feral for this man and his filthy mouth. And Isabelle, you just like her. She’s sassy and can roll with the big boys.
The way you never knew what was going to happen next OR what deliciously crazy thing Luca was going to stay next. This book is genius. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it.
I was so excited when I was chosen to receive an ARC copy of Entwined Lies. It had everything I love in a book. Mafia, spice and a FMC that is giving off boss girl energy and IT DID NOT disappoint. Luca is in my top 5 mafia boyfriends, Isabelle is so fierce, I love this 2 together ! Sometimes books only give you spice or a good plot, this one had both. E.A Miller did not miss with this book. I couldn’t put it down and it will DEFINITELY be on my reread list.
If you love a Mafia romance full of twists this book is for you!!
Full of love, hate, romance, secret child, fake marriage turned surprise, and so much more!!
I absolutely fell in love with book. It was fast paced keeping you hooked all the way to the end. You were always wanting more and finding surprises. The love hate relationship building throughout was amazing.
I cannot wait for more to come in this story line!!
I don't think I would ever have guessed that this was a debut novel. It was just perfect, it had great spice, the plot was interesting, the character development was good, it was fast-paced however it didn't feel rushed or left us with questions.
If you love the villain gets the girl then this is the book for you. Luca and Isabelle’s characters were well thought out and the plot twists oh my! Such a fun read!
Hands down this was amazing! I absolutely love mafia romance books but this was so much better,
So many twist and turns you never knew what was coming. I couldn’t put it down. Just when you think he has a control over her, she pulls a fast one on him and shows just how brave she really is. Just one thing, she’s hiding a secret. They’ve met before but does he recognize her? And can she keep her secret from him hidden.
I love the strong female Isabella is and her need to handle her own. Doing what she can to be the best mom and follow her career path in the DA office. She literally avoided the man that fathered her child at all costs then found herself in his club. Her world falls apart (or together depending on how you see it) when she wakes up and has no choice of the direction her life will go bc it’s all been decided by her once one night stand. Cue, the sexy Luca future head of the Abruzzo crime family. Handsome, obsessed, overly possessive and ready to put a ring on her finger and call her his. Oh yeah that’s exactly what he does without giving her a choice!! The “scene” that come from the avoidance, flirting, possessive behavior, and fighting are delicious! You feel all the feels through this love story. The betrayal hits hard and your head will spin. Tears will be shed and you will hold your breath. Then when all is lost the truth comes to light and all the lies and deception are spilled in attempt to fix everything.
That must have been some crazy one night stand for them both to be hung up on it 12 years later! I love that for them!! The secrets and lies the thread through the story are so well hidden. Me looking with a magnifying glass trying to put everything together, the all of it laid out nicely in a desperate situation. The deep breath I took! I absolutely recommend giving this story a read!

I received an ARC copy of Entwined Lies and E.A. Miller did not disappoint! You never know what to expect when you are reading someone's debut novel, but I was hooked on this book right from the start. This was my first mafia romance novel, and I couldn’t put it down! I am a sucker for the enemies to lovers trope and touch-her-and-die vibe. The characters - Luca & Isabelle - really pull you in right from the get-go. I loved the dual POV and the banter between characters.
Isabelle & Luca enjoyed a one-night stand twelve years prior. They parted ways, but neither one ever forgot about that amazing night together. She was harboring a secret and had managed to avoid Luca over the last 12 years and was never expecting to run into him again, let alone waking up married to the man and actually pining for him! As quoted in the book, “life never follows the script, and what was waiting for me wasn’t anything I saw coming.” Her life was altered in a flash, but she remained determined to protect her family and went to great lengths to keep them safe.
Luca was given no choice in the direction of his life, being expected by his father to take over the family business as the mafia boss. He never let himself believe anything good or happy would happen in his life, until he found Isabelle again and ended up secretly marrying her in order to protect her and her son (although you can tell he actually does love her). He risks his own life to keep her and her family safe. In time he realizes he loves her fiercely and starts letting his walls down around her, only to feel betrayed by her and their dream of a happy life is torn apart. These 2 quotes from him broke my heart - “I so fucking loved you…I’d have traded my last breath just to give you one more” and “That’s the cruelest part. Thinking I could ever have a piece of heaven”.
Not only were the 2 main characters lovable, but the author also made you feel for the supporting characters with the few details she gives about their history as well. My heart broke for what Nico had to endure, and there is an interesting twist with Enzo! I really hope there will be books to follow about these two men, and they will both get their happy endings! I really enjoyed this debut novel from E.A. Miller. It had a great mixture of mystery, suspense, romance, lust and spice!
If you’re into any of these tropes, then I highly recommend you read this book! - Enemies to Lovers - Touch her and die - Forced marriage - Forced proximity - Dark romance - Mafia romance - Dual POV
E.A. Miller knows how to spin a tale that has you gasping for air & wondering what comes next. This is a book that I ignored my responsibilities for 48 hours to find out what happens, which rarely occurs. This is a story that covers the twists & turns between an overbearing MMC & a strong willed FMC. The heat is hot 🔥 & the plot keeps you guessing. I look forward to more books from this author.
What a debut book! Loved every second of it and had a little chuckle at the end. Full of twists and turns, blood and violence and steam. One of the best books I have read in a while and highly recommended. An amazing book for a first time author. 👏🏼
If you're a fan of mafia romance with a thrilling twist, Entwined Lies is a book you absolutely won't want to miss. This gripping second-chance romance keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end, blending suspense, passion, and betrayal in a way that makes it hard to put down.
The story centers around issabella , a fierce and talented district attorney, and Luca, a dangerous and powerful mob boss who’s tangled in a world of secrets and lies. The chemistry between them is undeniable, yet their past is riddled with pain and unfinished business, making their reunion both intense and emotionally charged.
One of the standout elements of the book is the way the author delves into the complexity of loyalty. Both characters are torn between their duty and their feelings for each other. The tension that arises from their hidden love is palpable, and it adds layers of intrigue and depth to the narrative.
What really makes Entwined Lies shine, though, are the characters themselves. Both the DA and the mob king are multi-dimensional, far from one-dimensional "good vs. bad" archetypes. Their internal conflicts, personal growth, and the way they navigate their dangerous worlds is masterfully portrayed. The relationships, both romantic and platonic, feel real and lived-in, with loyalty being a recurring theme that will keep you hooked throughout.
The pacing is spot-on. The secrets unravel slowly, keeping you guessing with each new twist. The plot is rich with suspense, and there’s just enough action to keep your adrenaline pumping without overshadowing the emotional depth of the story.
In terms of critiques, there were moments where I felt like the tension between the characters could have been drawn out a little longer before they fully came together. However, the payoff is definitely worth the wait.
Overall, Entwined Lies is an addictive, fast-paced read that’s perfect for fans of mafia romance and second-chance love stories. With its strong characters, thrilling plot, and unexpected twists, it’s definitely a book that will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading
i said yes to this book because of the hero being named Luca.. any book i read with Luca as the mmc needs to be perfect and the best and this book proved it right too. omg.. he was one of the best main character ive ever read. already gained a position in the top 2 books with mmcs named Luca!! Hahaha
now coming to the plot!!!!! it was outstanding!! I see the title is apt. there r so many Lies, secrets, twists and turns in this book..all overlapped and so entwined, u just have to concentrate n keep reading. i just couldnt put it down.
Luca being the boss , handled his role perfectly. the brooding serious hot chiseled body boss was swoon worthy .. and yes, he was definitely a walking o₹-gas-ms factory. the sm-ex scenes were molten lava!!! ravishing and so so good..
his team was perfect. id love to read more about them. especially Enzo and Nico. Nico, i really feel n see a story there.
Isabella as the Dy DA was insanely good. the author has written such a brilliant smexy intelligent female character. it was just wow. not only is the hero brilliant and the best but his better half is also giving him a run for his money. as Tom said, she was more dang-erous than him where power was concerned. kudos to the author for writing such a great charcater. Chrissy was superb as well..
as i said above.. the book is fast paced, unputdownable and so so good. im going to rec it to others once its released. it was so good. cant wait to read the other books in the series!! all the best!!
I had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for this book. Overall, I liked this book. I did find a few plot points that were either too rushed or fell short to me. First, the marriage between Isabella and Luca, though I see the reasoning, was a little rushed in my mind. I mean, everyone just seems to accept that Isabella, a high power Assistant DA, is just going to drop her career and marry a known criminal! Yes, she was still working on the case, but not on the same level. Then she gets in bed with the enemy! Again, I know it is to save her family, but would she really be able to do so so easily. Then, the whole feud with the Russians... yes, a family was murdered but why? Was there a reason? Just bad blood? I also found the whole arrest of Luca to be suspect. Yes, he killed someone, but it was to protect his family. And then the whole deal and trial at the end of the book, send rushed. And let me with questions. Actually, the whole vendetta of Parker seemed to fall flat. I thought that that whole storyline was not as filled out as others.
I did enjoy the storyline of last love affairs coming back and actually working out. Overall, it was a great mafia romance.
As this was an advance copy, there were some spelling and grammar mistakes, as there are with most ARCs.

This book made me cry, smile, and grin like an idiot. Even the dedication was a subtle foreshadowing. I couldn’t keep a straight face the whole time!
The characters? Perfection! The FMC is strong, smart, and incredibly sharp, but with a soft heart that balances her out. The MMC? Total alpha—powerful, intense, hot but also someone who fiercely protects the people he loves. Their chemistry was off the charts. That yearning? That undeniable pull between them? You feel it. A night of freedom and mistakes turned into something they never truly let go of.
Two moments that got my heart—one an emotional reveal (a secret for 12 years), and the other was a painful choice made for love and protection. Those scenes hit hard in the best and worst way possible.
The writing was smooth and addictive! It felt like I was watching a movie rather than reading. For me it was well-paced with the right amount of tension, action, romance, and spice. It didn’t feel rushed or lacking in the end—it felt just right. For a debut, this one is really really good! And yes, spice lovers, this book delivers. A solid 3.5🔥 for me. That gun scene and the throat moment? Whew.
If you love emotional, swoony, angsty mafia romance with twists, found family, and the kind of love that endures through time and betrayal—this one’s for you.
***4.5 🌟*** ***A R C received in exchange for an honest review*** What an amazing ride this book was! It took me a while to find the time to finish it, but I did! Luca and Isabelle had such amazing chemistry throughout the book. That twist, where we find out she MAY have betrayed him?? That had my stomach in knots. And the fact that Luca knew that Jake was his son from their initial one-night stand??? This was a man in love, and was fighting not to admit it. I almost cried at some of the parts. To me, this story was very believable. (as believable as Mafia romance can be). Luca was just a man in denial of his true feelings, doing the best he could. Isabelle was a fierce, strong woman throughout. The spicy scenes were incredible. The way that man would DEVOUR her was so 🔥 🥵 There were some parts where I found myself wondering, "There's more???". Sometimes it felt like the story was slowing down a bit, but it quickly picked up the pace. I don't usually read Mafia romances, so this was a great break from regular Dark romances. I feel like this was a very entertaining book, especially the last 40%. You feel for the characters when it seemed they may be torn apart. Overall, I'd recommend it for all the Mafia romance lovers. Great character development, great story, and hot spice.
I’ve been reading a lot of rom-coms lately, which have been great. I love mixing things up, but it’s time to switch back to my first love, Mafia Romance. After DNF-ing several Mafia Romance books the last few days, I was overcome by giddiness to have landed on E.A. Miller’s Entwined. And when I say giddy, I kicked up my feet and clapped my hands within the first few chapters. It’s the little things.
I loved how the plot was introduced. Luca’s position with the Mafia and feelings for Isabella, the assistant D.A., conflict with his father’s request that she be unalived. When he goes against his father’s wishes because he discovers Isabella has been hiding information from him for the last 12 years, he knows he must protect her. So he marries her, of course, without her knowledge!
The dynamic between the two, as the kids say, is scorching hot. But the underlying mafia storyline is well-plotted, too. It was all quite exciting between potential leaks Luca suspected he had, secrets they were withholding from each other, and plans carefully mapped out to safeguard each other without their knowledge. And the spice was incredible—a br3ath play scene was one of the best I’ve read in a long time.
I highly recommend Entwined as your next Mafia Romance read—make time for it now.
