I have been reading this book for 8 months. Not because it is super long, but because it holds such honest, painful and heartbreaking stories of what serial killers have done to others.

We all have those family members who like to lumber you with things once they find out about your interest.

Well this book came from my aunt when she found out about my interest in forensic psychology. Supposedly I need to become an expert in the criminal world – mainly I need to be able to recite the heinous acts of countless individuals across history.

Okay, maybe she did not put it like that but it sort of felt that way when she handed me numerous books on the topic.

Still, despite the fact that such a thing can be viewed as being exceptionally weird, the books she gave me were all interesting reads. This one included. It is educational (even if it is not the kind of topic you would want to teach at school) and an interesting read.

Whilst not my usual I rather enjoyed reading the details of this book.

This is a book that was obviously assigned to someone to write because it would sell okay, and it is an Okay book. The profiles are all a bit shallow, what with them all only getting one or two pages, but there are enough that you probably haven't heard of to make it a decent read.

This is the kind of book that you read to give you an idea what to search for next.

I wonder if this is the same as Serial Killers: A Shocking History, but with a different cover? It feels like it may be a broader edition for the English-speaking world with a large cohort of killers from Britain, Europe, Russia, Australia, etc. This separates it from other such collections. Still, it is more of an encyclopedia than a "history". Killers are present in short articles, alphabetical by last name with a pithy, bold title like you would expect to see at a supermarket checkout line and then an article not unlike you might read Wikipedia.

Very Grim book but very informative. I'm reading it while watching Netflix new TV series, Mindhunters. Really informative. There is just enough information on each killer to give you nightmares, and then watching Mindhunter gives me the psychology behind why these people did what they did.

Interesting stories, not for the faint hearted.

However, the editing was clearly done by multiple people as some of the cases were clear and concise while others were confused and almost incomprehensible. I had to read some out loud a few times to try and understand.

Not edited very well. Many 'bios' not complete (ie abruptly end in the middle of sentences) and references in the book to other killers are often incorrect (wrong pages referenced).

I think this book very quick read and I love the cover of the book also I found it very Interesting but lot of the information was not very accurate.
