Kind of cute read. ^_^

He searched, his eyes darting from shoe to shoe, so
much so that by fifth period he had a huge headache, as if all those shoes had each kicked him in the head.

Hahaha...

Just a sweet little short story about a boy trying to find a girl who kissed him at a party. Problem is he wasn’t wearing his glasses so the only glimpse of her he got as she ran away was her converse shoes. It’s a very short story - more like flash fiction. It could have used a lot more development but it was cute for what it was.

Read this book for it's length honestly. ( Can it be called a book though? More like an article or something...). Anyway, the story was okay, and the writting was nice as well, and it seems like the author does have some potentials to write a good book. So, try it out if you...are waiting for the bus to come maybe? It take five minutes (no kidding) to read it.

I love good short stories. This one had lots of potential but really lacked substance. It's a cute concept but really needing padding out a bit more, a few more pages would have done that. The ending was way too abrupt and should have been a strong point.

I've read much better shorts in all genres. 2 stars from me and that's generous.

I don’t know why everyone is hating on this. Perfectly cute short story. Only took took me like a minute and a half to read, but it was definitely the perfect cute and simple read.

This "book" is one of those that you see at the top of every teen list on iBooks. I bought it hoping for a cute short story, but it's really a micro-story. At about seven iPhone-sized pages, it took me about two minutes to finish. Nonetheless, it's intriguing and entertaining. I actually would buy a full-length sequel. I actually went out and bought a couple more of Yaritza Garcia's short stories to read right now. I'll post the reviews in a couple minutes! ;)

One more thing...
"He realized he was literally the only one who didn't dress up...he was a sophmore-surely too old to dress up for Halloween."
ummm, I love Halloween and dress up every year. So sue me.

Well, that was twee and dainty.

This five page free short story features agreeable writing from an author clearly gifted with style but unfortunately The Girl in the Converse Shoes has no substance to back it up, proving too short to make an emotional connection with the reader and too uneventful to be a truly great short story. The ending is also very unexceptional, bringing the events to a close without actual closure. I like it though: it's a sweet story, well written and great, considering it's free, incredibly short and about pink shoes.

I liked that it was short. But also the writing was very convenient. Like looking for the girl with pink shoes, as if expecting her to still be wearing the same shoes as she didn't the party. Not to mention it leaned a lot on the stereotypical geek MC.

But if you want an extremely quick read that was even free when I got it as an ebook. Just go for it.

The Girl in the Converse Shoes by Yaitza Garcia

2 stars

This is a cute little story about a guy who goes to a party and meets a girl with pink converse shoes. It's cute, but way too short. I thought it was like the male Cinderella. Only there was no evil stepsiblings, he was just an awkward, dorky teenager. I didn't really like it a whole lot, but I thought it was cute and quick. Since it was free I don't feel cheated or anything. It would've been nicer if the story was just a few pages longer.

Cover Thoughts: It's a cute cover (just like the book). I really like the Converse.

This was a free book I downloaded on my nook. It is really short only 8 pages long. The story was just okay. The thing that bugged me the most about it was the writing. I'm not the greatest when it comes to grammer, but I felt I could have written the story better. There were a few sentences that did not flow well, and could have been rewritten. After, I finished reading the story, I deleted off my nook.

El "libro" más corto que he leído en mi vida. Es más, al terminarlo me di cuenta que ya lo leí hace años...
A pesar de ser super mega archi re contra corto, fue tierno.
Dos estrellas.

This was a really cute story. This could have been a much longer story if Yaritza took some time to develop the characters a little more and gave some more detail. That’s the main reason I docked a star. Super short story and such a great storyline, though. 👍🏾

An ok read, but it's waaay shorter than a short story.
I would've given it more stars if it were longer... (meaning I would've had more pages to rate, since in my opinion, it has potential)

I found this book in my iBooks app on my iPhone after giving "Paranormal Romance" a read. They were both short stories, this book for me was about 8 pages and it was so cute. I gave four stars because it was a nice short story that had an adorable ending, but honestly it could've been longer. I don't dislike the book. I was just thinking that maybe it could've turned into a longer or single novel for a book (a great plot idea). I was also just randomly searching for books to pass the time and this was a quick read. It's an enjoyable book, although shorter than a regular short story. "Love is where you least expect it" and I ended up smiling at the end. 😊 A nice twist for a blond wig. 😂🤣

I will try to make my review shorter than the story - but it will be hard! It is labelled "flash fiction" and is only 3 pages on my Nook.

It was well enough written and the author has some good turns of phrase, so I will probably check out their other works. I could only give the story itself 3 stars, however. With a story this short, you only have time for one idea and you have to nail it. Unfortunately, there was a major hole that made the joke fall flat for me. Otherwise, a clever enough idea, with efficient use of details to make it come alive without being unnecessarily long.

I've read one of Yaritza's short stories before and I thought it was okay but nothing incredible, but I enjoyed this one a lot more. I usually don't enjoy reading stories as short as these (they're literally like 2 pages long) as I find you can't really get engrossed in the story in such few pages but I actually really liked this one.
I was wanting to find out who the girl in the shoes was, and was relieved this ended all wrapped up instead of on a cliffhanger like this last story I read by him.
He has a wonderful way of getting you to feel like you know and care for the characters in such a short amount of time.
If you're wanting literally a few minutes read with a good impact definitely check out some of his work.

Oh, dear. This was my first experience with "flash fiction," and I was not impressed. I am sorry to say that this read like the plot of a Hillary Duff movie fifteen years ago. Just because a piece of fiction is brief doesn't preclude it from having substance or depth. I feel like so much of the precious word count was used to set the stage for the high school party atmosphere that the nuances of characterization fell by the wayside.

Kinda pointless to read, but still very sweet. The writer could have gone into more depth, but it was still better then traveling everywhere to find her, making a fool of himself asking, takes pity and tells him story. It shows that love doesn't have to be a ridiculous journey to "get the girl," it shows you simply just need to walk up to someone and say hi.

I actually really liked this story. It was incredibly short, but told a complete story. I was really rooting for the main character in his quest for the mystery girl. I loved hearing about his efforts and results. This is a sweet little quick story that is appropriate for many ages as young as pre-teen.
