I actually liked this book. MK does exactly the right amount of angst for my taste - I don't like whiny heroines and her (his?) stories are pretty logical in that respect. Also, the hero is a charmer and there's wry humor in the book (reminds you of an old movie).
Hilarious. Bad boy troublemaker is good. Good girl virgin is good digger. Older man pillar of the community is crazy blackmailing and weird. It has been a long time since a book made me laugh this much. It's only saving grace is that this was Harlequin/Mills and Boon trope back in the olden days. Thank God MK wrote better books and story lines have evolved since then. Maybe not as I have read similar "plot twists" from more recent authors ~ Elizabeth Reyes I'm looking at you ~ And this was better.
Years ago, teenage Ginny had been fascinated by rebellious biker Ryan Savage. And she'd missed him terribly when he'd abandoned her, leaving their staid English hometown for the racier attractions of London. — Now Ry had returned to wreak havoc with Ginny's life. Engaged to marry cultured and rich Miles Langton, Ginny felt threatened by Ry's unnerving presence.
Ry made it plain -- he wanted Ginny -- and he'd do whatever it took to get her away from Miles. Ginny found Ry tempting, but his turbulent track record hardly inspired her trust.
