Ticktock. Betrayal still sits heavy in Neoma's heart but the Tour must go on. Months have gone by with not a child saved. Being the bait might be the last hope of ever finding those missing kids.
Ticktock. Not everything is doom and gloom. Nightwood, the city of trees, is the haven Neoma dreamed it would be. She finds people who share her love for the woods and her joy of running through the trees. Maybe, just maybe, she can finally start to heal.
Ticktock. But war draws ever closer and the shadowy organization continues to dog Neoma’s every step. Everything changes when a prophecy purposely kept from her comes to pass. Destiny is put into motion but will it lead her to the missing children or a fate much worse?
Ticktock. The clock is running out.
Child of the Sun is book 3 of the Child of Prophecy series. It's perfect for fans of epic fantasy, deep world building, character driven stories, meddling deities, too many prophecies, angst, and found family. Continue the adventure now!
Though Child of the Sun can be enjoyed by adults and young adults, it deals with some darker themes. For a complete list of content warnings, please visit the author's website.
Child of Prophecy is a continuous series and should be read in this order: 1. Child of the Moon 2. Child of the Forest 3. Child of the Sun
Where to even begin? This is the third book in the series "Child of Prophecy". If you haven't read the first two, go do so! Or this won't makes sense. (It might not make sense either way, I have LOTS of feelings)
Neoma, the female Brother acting as bait to draw out the shadowy organization that tried to kidnap her in her hometown and has been stalking her along her Tour, continues her journey with her soulstar (soul mate) Luca and her platonic soulstars Hemi and Vivia. She suffers from nightmares and chronic pain in her arm after events in the last book.
The group arrives at their next destination on their Tour, a sprawling city build in the enormous treetops of Sigar's forest. Sigar is the forest god, to whom Neoma is very close. Here she can hear his whispers clearly, and it sooths her anxiety and even serves to warn her of danger later on. This place is much friendlier than the last and Neoma makes some new friends in Xavi and his rangers. She also get her arm mostly healed and gets another prophecy from the priestess, making it very clear that her destiny is closing in, fast.
I won't spoil anymore, you should read for yourself. It's a book full of surprizes and unexpected twists, angst and beautiful love, both platonic and romantic. And all of the main cast is some flavor of queer.
The one thing I think is lacking is description of the main four characters, as a reminder. I STILL don't know whether Hemi has blue or red hair! Vivia has a "cloud of hair" but what color is it? I can't draw them if I don't know what colors to use! *sobs in artist*
