Breaking Bad - 30 Ways to Cook Chicken - A Cookbook

Rate this book
"The finest ingredients are brought together with love and care, then slow cooked to perfection. Yes, the old ways are still best at Los Pollos Hermanos. But don't take my word for it. One taste, and you'll know." Let's cook. 30 Ways to Cook Chicken contains the most mouthwatering recipes from Los Pollos Hermanos using only the freshest ingredients and no Heisenberg Blue. For fans of Breaking Bad , this little book is a celebration of Gustavo Fring's popular chain of restaurants, Los Pollos Hermanos, and the many delicious ways in which it can be eaten. Discover your inner alchemist by experimenting with the suggested ingredients in the pages that follow, many of which are listed without precise measures. These 30 ways to eat chicken all have the potential to be 100% scrumptious, but if you are too heavy handed with the fresh herbs and spices or too mean with the mango, the percentage could be lower. Apply yourself!

I'm kind of conflicted about this cookbook.

On the one hand, Gus Fring is my second favourite character in Breaking Bad, after Saul Goodman. He is amazing- smart, deadly(in both ways haha), powerful and he owns a chicken restaurant, so basically you can't help but love him. To be completely honest, I was rooting for him over Walter. Yeah, okay, Walt had his whole 'this isn't meth' moment, but Gus had this-

And these two deadly scenes which are both spoilery and gruesome-

As well as the bit of backstory we got, which was brilliant and also his cool accent. This is a guy who makes puking look really classy. And did I mention the chicken restaurant? Because seriously, the guy is an angel. Not as much of an angel as Chuck McGill from the spinoff, because I guess Gus was a murderous drug kingpin, while Chuck is just an angel, but still. I feel like I really want this book because of all that. Better Call Saul update-

On the other hand, this is what is actually in the chicken-

Chicken semen and faces? Methylamine? Chicken vagaries(god knows what that even is)? Um, yeah, that is slightly disgusting, though I'm not entirely sure if it's disgusting enough to put me off Los Pollos Hermanos. I'm conflicted. I just need someone wise to tell me what to do, should I buy it?

Ah okay, if Gus tells me to buy it, I guess I will. I don't know if I've ever mentioned it before, but I fecking love that guy.

I haven't read this but it's Breaking Bad and Gus Fring related, so here's 5 stars. And I recently finished watching Breaking Bad so I'm kinda down in the dumps. Better Call Saul I'm coming!
