this series has become painfully repetitive; they tease character backstories and then jump to filler scenes. i'm glad i'm borrowing these from libby and not purchasing them.

It's getting a bit repetitive now, with nothing new happening in the overarching plot, but still the moments are a great mixture of cute, silly and oddly inspirational. I enjoyed seeing more of the General's colleagues, and of my favourite Black Ranger. The artwork is still really good, overall a good addition to the series but is beginning to feel recycled.

This is so unfair, I want to know more about Red’s backstory 😩 we already know quite a bit about the other rangers, and we just got a little snippet more for him. But I need more 🫩 that ending gave me too many questions

Sometimes I will go back and change my reviews when I see others second guessing myself. But no I enjoyed it besides my friends are like the only ones that will see this. I like the repetition of story lines and small back stories especially when life and work are unpredictable and lowkey depressing. So yes I will continue to read about a super villain and his deep love of pandas.

Is it a tad repetitive? Sure—but, it’s also nice to read a story where good things still happen and where mean-looking folk aren’t as bad as they seem~

Usually I love this series, but a lot of the stories were kind of bland or repetitive.

It doesn't help that I don't particularly like a lot of the evil league characters - Trigger and Rooney are fun, but there was so much Ul and Ashe this time, and I am simply not interested in them. And the General himself...seemed like he was on auto-pilot?

Even the first chapter, where his robot cat broke a plate and ruined his dessert, was so wildly anticlimactic. I obviously didn't expect the General to get upset, but their whole interaction was kind of dull.

And the sauce packets chapter was just...entirely pointless and not even funny? It feels like Morikawa's dredging the bottom of the barrel a little for cute/relatable moments, and a lot of them fell flat for me this time. The wishing for a sunny day also felt lifted straight out of other material, although I can't place the specific one I'm thinking of.

Red's chapters were my favorite. Loved the one with him tailing the General around town just to make sure he wasn't up to anything fishy, and then resolving to ask him the next time why he doesn't want to interact with his coworkers. I hope that scene actually happens.

Blue with the tiny twins was super cute too, with the Ranger family gathering for breakfast. I'd like to see more of Black; he's still kind of mysterious and seems oddly separate from the rest of them.

Absolutely loved the bonus chapter at the end that gives Red a pretty sad backstory that's directly opposite of how Blue's younger brother sees him: as someone annoyingly, emptily optimistic. He chooses to be cheery and kind, and although it's kind of rough to be thrown into the leader role, he's doing his best. He's just a really good guy, and I like him a lot.

I am so obsessed with this series to the point where I literally had this volume coming out marked on my calendar, and skipped out of work to go pick it up.

There's so much I love about this series, and it's all present in this volume: the relationship between the rangers, the relationship between The General and his coworkers, THE CONVENIENCE STORE WORKER AND THE SALARYMAN, and C018!! The way this series blends fantasy and scifi elements is so fun, and I love how it plays on how unaware of earth stories and traditions he is.

I of course enjoy the panda scenes, but my absolute favorite is whenever we get some more serious worldbuilding (of which each volume contains so little) about The General's homeworld, or the rangers' powers/backstory/hero lore. Literally salivating over wanting to learn why they're trying to take over Earth, because The General himself seems pretty conflicted about it, when he's constantly reminding himself of the fact that humanity has to be wiped out. I hope we eventually learn, though it'll probably take forever because we get so few lore crumbs every volume and each volume takes like SIX+ MONTHS TO COME OUT!!!!!!!!! AND THEY'RE SO SHORT COMPARED TO OTHER MANGA!!!!! Still, even though they're so much shorter, every mini story is an absolute banger, there were none that failed to entertain and interest me in this volume or the others.

If you haven't tried this manga and you like fun, CHECK IT OUT!!!! promise it is worth it

-sincerely, someone who just binged all 7 volumes yesterday

4.5 This volume felt a lot more group focused with many / most of it focusing on either the Evil Society as a group or the Rangers as a found family. I don't know if I'd love it if it stayed like this forever but I really enjoyed it here.
I also feel like they're trying to reintroduce or have a chapter that reminds readers of the group dynamics which I really appreciate. This series has run for awhile and if the release schedule is like what it is here, which I think it's similar, then volume readers are in a bind to remember unless they reread each time. The chapter where each person reacts to the little sentient cape waving was super cute!
I'm glad the tree spirit chapter wasn't super heart bending either. Instead it's just cute watching them get handle being jealous as they interact with a dandelion spirit. It was fun to get a softer chapter of them and the inclusion of a new person for them to bounce off of was fun. I know they leave at the end of the chapter but I do hope we get some similar plant spirits.
The Rangers moments were very sweet. The evil society is more ragtag while the Rangers feel more found family. They have a cozy vibe and it continues here. The late night breakfast was a very sweet chapter. Equally was the Blue Ranger's brother to show a new perspective on each Ranger. The final chapter hinting that the Twilight / Black Ranger saved the Red Ranger from homelessness was just so cute and cozy. I desperately need more volumes to tell me how that group formed and all the trauma of everyone. They're all the reader's babies!!!

Ahh, so lovely!

I especially liked the chapters centering around opening different packets (like salad dressing/ketchup packets) because OH MY GOODNESS THE STRUGGLE IS SO REAL!! I liked how each chapter had a different way of getting the packet open, but not without struggle, because it felt SO incredibly relatable! LOL!

I also enjoyed the chapter on the convenience store worker because it was a fun change to see things from her perspective! Also, it was cute how she was able to recommend the ice cream to our villain!

I'll tell you what, though! I'll be laughing and having a great time reading these chapters, and then every single volume I get suckered punch in the feels with the last chapter! TELL ME WHY THAT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN?! *cries*

It was very, very heartfelt though, and I hope for nothing but the best of things for the character it focused on! <3

I hope we get a new volume soon because this series is always a delight to read!!

Ironically the stories I liked most this time were the ones about the rangers and not related as much to Mr Villain. I did, however, like seeing a little about his colleagues and their work lives.

I also really liked how Mr Villain wished for a sunny day for the sake of the kids who wanted to go to the theme park the next day 🥲 He’s a softie inside.

All in all, a fun read! I thought I was over the premise, but they found a way to keep them fun still.

Another great volume. Mr. Villain has several food-related shenanigans and he tries to befriend a cat, but there wasn’t enough pandas. And we learn that the tail and claws on his shoulders when he’s working have a mind of their own. Rangers have family fun, and Blue ranger’s little brother is introduced. Happy-making and wholesome like always.

We have more time with the Rangers! It was so nice to have a bit more time learning about Blue (and his brother) and Red. We got to see the group bond together too, which was really nice. As far as the Villain's fellow leaders - we got to see some of them on Earth! Overall, this was a wonderful addition. My favorite was the first one with C-018.

A delightful collection!
Some of the short chapters are silly, like the epic condiment battle, while others are more serious. We get a chapter at the end about the sky blue ranger’s little brother that is quite touching.
I only wish each volume were larger!

Ahh, I love this series. It’s like getting back together with old friends. I liked that everyone in the series got their own chapter. The next volume needs to come out sooner! :)
