Ember and her found family start to navigate through learning how to cope with her not being what they always envisaged. Ember has to learn to trust that they aren’t just going to dismiss her and put her down; after putting one of her brothers straight and him now accepting his sister is badass, not a fairy princess, things start to look up, but again life gets in the way, Ember claims more of her mates as they find out more about what Ember is capable of and has been through over the years.
This is a continuation of book One, and will have one more book to follow.
I had the pleasure of ARC reading this, the author is new and it shows in her writing, but she is learning.
I love how Embers story has progressed, book one was very much a fast forward on her journey to her forever with a little bit as she settles in, the cliffhanger on book two isn't as ' oh sh!t ' and hopefully we don't have long to wait to see how that plays out.
it is a little hard following who is who but there is a help guide for that included.
I'm only giving a 4star as some parts are yet to be explained and seem to be getting lost or forgotten, but we will see how things go.
looking forward to book three and the final
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This continues from book 1. We have Ember who has 10 possible mates. She always assumed she would just be immediately rejected because she is broken and undesirable.
Well this book finds Ember solidifying more of her mate bonds. This books is super spicy because again she has a lot of mates and each bond is solidfied with intimacy.
I love that Ember is using her book writing and drawings/paintings to tell her story. Her and her family are also taking down those who harmed her prior to her being found.
There are A LOT of characters in this series and it definitely gets tricky keeping everyone straight. However, there is a family/mate list at the beginning to help with that. I do feel like there may be too many characters for how short the books are but we shall see.
And the plot thickens. I’m obsessed with the love and care each mate has for Ember. The bonding time is so intense and delicious! The trust she is gaining and giving is so beautiful!! I love to see the growth some of the characters are having. Each going through their own journey and struggles. It’s all the little moments that get me!! So excited for book 3 and hopefully babies!!!
The second book of the three and this was much better than the first. I think because Ember is settled in one location, it gives time for her relationships with both her mates and her family to develop. I know I shouldn’t but I’m starting to develop favourites (Saint, I’m looking at you) in addition to my absolute favourite, Trick, who is slowly overcoming his trauma. Wrongs are righted, the badger shifter and his succubus wife, Ember finds out more about her genetics, Miles gets his mates and as an absolutely fantastic ending, a certain someone is going to pay for hurting Ember. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
The second book of the Blood Moon Trilogy has Ember settling in with her family and some of her mates. She must learn how to navigate her new life with her family and they with her. This book shows her coming into her own and blooming with love.
I’m really enjoying this series! This book is filled with heat and is steaming hot. Ember is coming into her own and developing relationships with her varied mates. Enjoyed it!
Absolutely love Ember and her new found family. After reading When Ember Become Ashes I couldn’t wait to dive into A Phoenix Will Rise. I was hooked beginning to end but now I’m in slump as I need book 3. Can’t wait to read that. An another amazing book by Mercy Ashes. Kudos to you!!!!
Book two is showing as much promise as book one for Ember and her mates! We see progress between Ember being able to trust her family slowly and get bonding time with some of her mates while others are taking it slower. We got to see development in Trick getting to deal with some of his traumatic past and revenge being dealt against the couple who caused the trauma. I have loved the little bonding moments between the mates and the family, it's felt organic and not just thrown together.
The pacing felt really good throughout, the plot kept me interested and in turn, looking forward to book three and I never got bored with any of the character's personalities. The relationship list helps us keep track of whose who which is great as it can be hard to remember. I also feel Mercy has improved with this book so looking forward to seeing how her writing develops further in book three!
Mercy did not disappoint with the continuation of Ember's story! You got to see as more of the familial relationships develop, different PoVs allow you to gain insight to some of the side characters thoughts and feelings, which is rare, and you get to see more of the mates come together and claim one another. This book delves a lot into different moments and people from Ember's past, and seems to allow her to gain some closure. I enjoyed this book immensely and look forward to the conclusion of the trilogy, and seeing how each of the remaining mates come to terms with accepting their marks and all finding their HEA.
I am loving Ember and her mates along with the entire family. The growth in their bond is beautiful. Ember has been through so mich and we saw some of that in the first book but we go even deeper in thia one. Even with all the characters it was still easy to get to know specific characters. I can't wait to read more of their story and see where their journey goes next.
The FMC is strong and underestimated by those who don’t know her. She is willing to do whatever it takes to keep those she loves safe. Her honesty, kindness, and patience shows even when she doesn’t need to be. You can tell she values those around her whether it is a friend, family member, or her mates. There are some errors grammatically but that didn’t take away from the book.
This second book in the series is really good. You start learning more about each of her mates and her family. I can’t wait to read the third book in the series! Hopefully it comes out soon
The Spice and healing book 2 brings to Ember will leave you breathless and wanting more! Hopefully more closure in book 3 to continue the healing with more of her mates stepping up to fill the bonds.
I am really enjoying this series. I will say that eventually though as the author continues to grow in her craft that she revisit and rework and edit this series though.
I will also say that it is fast paced and I wish I had more background on the guys. Especially with before they met Ember and how they grew up or afterwards.
The other thing i will say is I'm pretty sure i know wish she is but there's really been no explanation on that it the mother
Definitely CAN NOT choose! Thought book one was a battle for the why choose but man, book two for the win! Ten mates! Each different and amazing in their own way and no fighting, heaven. If you are into supernatural shifters and spice with a plot do yourself a favor and read the BloodMoon Trilogy! So ready for book three and mam please do give us more of Miles!
