Alejandro doesn’t smile when I check in. He just hands me my key like I’m a problem he didn’t ask for.
I try to brush it off, but something about his quiet intensity sets me on edge—and not in a bad way. He’s brooding, yet gorgeous, and completely uninterested in making small talk with the upbeat, recently divorced woman crashing his perfectly controlled resort.
Enters Rachel, my best friend-slash-human hurricane, who signs us up for every resort activity known to man. Suddenly I’m stuck paddleboarding next to Alejandro, hiking behind him, and making awkward eye contact over morning pilates.
He surprises me. He listens when I talk. He remembers little things.
I should’ve known I was in trouble the second he took my hand under the stars and said my laugh reminded him that life keeps going.
He still wears his wedding ring. And I’m flying home in three days.
This is a great story of new beginnings almost lost. I like the first impression of Emma on Alejandro. I enjoyed the plotting of Rachel and Marco throughout this entire story. I liked the growing feelings between Emma and Alejandro and the confusion of not speaking and talking about everything. The epilogue in this story gave it the happily ever after this story needed. I really enjoyed reading this book. I received a free copy of this book but I am leaving this review of my own free will.
I loved BROODING HEART! The four main characters are brilliant - interesting and real with no too-stupid-to-live moments. This is a novella length slow burn, getting-to-know-you romance that could actually happen. Very entertaining.
This was a cute little read (misunderstanding in romance is one of my least favorites but it wasn't a long drawn out event), good writing, enjoyable characters, short but not too abrupt. I look forward to reading the next book
I read this book in one sitting and it was amazing I couldn’t put my phone down! Only reason I rated it 4 stars and not 5 is because it wasn’t long enough. I can’t wait for the next one!
I loved the setting in Mexico and the development of the characters’ personalities and the banter between them. Humour and realism that create a great story!
