Full disclosure: I am an acquired taste. I'm a typical blonde Orange County suburbanite who says 'like' more than necessary, laughs loud and probably obnoxiously, and loves to dance in the rain. I'm a 23 year old college graduate with more than a few tricks up my sleeve, and I also happen to be a pretty big Ducks fan. Oh, and I'm a writer. Like, for real.

Sadly a poorly written book, with a somewhat interesting plot. You don't only need a good idea to write a book.. It takes much more.

I really think, that this could have gone so much better.
If only there was some editing and a few funny moments to make it a little lighter or at least a bit entertaining.

Harleen and her uncle live together, and after she decides to stop working in order to support both of them, Edgar -the uncle- sells her soul to the devil, without her consent of course.

Andrew -the devil- wants Harleen as his queen and he want take no for an answer. So he stalks her relentlessly in order to make her see how good they are together. You wouldn't believe this moron could ever be the devil. Ever..

The book was flat, with no consistency at all. The characters were all over the place, the writing was amateur and the situations rather hilarious, but only with the negative meaning of the word. Absurd.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- I liked Harleen at first, when she was feisty and smart.
- The end is a setting for the next two books.
- I didn't like her uncle.
- He is the devil, so you would think that he would be cappable of not being so ridiculous.
- He can not even stalk her with a little dignity.

I’ll admit to there being a bit of confusion regarding this book. The author names ‘Falling for the Devil’ as the first book in the series and that is what I downloaded. However, the cover says it is part three and Goodreads informs me that ‘Flirting with the Devil’ is book one. Whatever the case, I know I read book one. The way the story was told, the way everything was introduced, I know for a fact it was book one. The titles may differ between websites, the covers may say different things, but I’m going with my gut feelings. What I read was certainly book one. In fact, part of me questions whether all three parts were together in this one download. Honestly, I’m not sure; all I know is what I read.

With that rant aside, let me move on to what you actually care about: the review.

I’ve read a number of the author’s books, and whilst this was an enjoyable one, it was not my favourite. It was a fun read, but it was missing that something extra that some of her other books seem to have. Due to this, the rating was a round up to four stars rather than a full four stars. It was good, but it wasn’t quite enough for me to call it four stars without telling you that it mentally missed out by a small degree.

As I have said in other reviews of the author’s work, Heather C. Myers has a way of taking topics that have been done before and putting her own spin on it. The devil being a person and taking someone’s soul appears in many stories, both within and outside of the romance genre. Within the romance genre, the same things always appear. He is always beautiful and charming. The female is always against being with him due to who he is. In the end, he changes her mind.

Whilst these tropes can be seen within this story, there is also the author’s usual individual aspects to the story. Mainly, Heather C. Myer’s puts her own spin on hell. Without a doubt, I can safely say it is one of my favourite versions of hell. It brings about a question I have always asked: if God sent the devil there against his will, why would the devil punish those sent to him? Thus, in this story, hell is very much like earth. The fire and brimstone is lacking, although there is still evil to be seen in one form or another. In fact, the building of hell and the aspects pertaining the supernatural side of the story were my favourite parts. They were so well done, and I could easily see more stories being set in this version of hell.

In terms of the romance in the story, it followed the pattern of the romance in some of her other stories. Despite this, it was still fun to watch. Rather than having an instant relationship, there is some burning. I would have liked more, but what we were given was a lot more than most stories give.

Overall, it was a fun read. It wasn’t my favourite Heather C. Myers read, but it was at her usual level of fun.

Spoilers.

I know that sometimes an author takes a chance and writes something that is very far fetched but hopes the readers find it interesting. I will admit that the book was an interesting take on the whole devil/hell scenario. However, I thought that Harleen didn't even attempt to get away. She wasn't a strong enough person. Why did he even want her? For her looks? I guess we were supposed to think that he had mystical powers since he was the devil, hence her passing out multiple times and ending up somewhere else. But I didn't feel any connection between any of the characters. I hated Andrew. I found him to have no redeeming qualities at all. He saw something and he wanted it. It wasn't even done in an alpha male way. It was just selfish. If he really loved her, he would have let her make the choice. But it was like he was granting her favors instead. And might I suggest that no one can sell or give another's soul away, that is up to the actual person. Her uncle might have wanted to do so, but it isn't free will if her soul is sold. She had to have had an out because of that.

I read this as a single, full-book edition and the following review is of the whole story not any individual part. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between Harleen and Andrew develop. That, even though he had already claimed her as his bride, he took the time to try and sway her affections towards him and allowed her to set the pace. That being said, I’ve read other books by this author that I’ve enjoyed more. I liked this story better than to call it only a three-star read, but it’s not a full-fledged four-star review for me. There were the makings of some really dramatic moments that felt too easily resolved. So, the tension they could have generated kind of fizzled out. There’s one scene that really goes against my own beliefs. That scene wraps up in a satisfying way that explains the direction it started in and brings it all back in closer alignment with my personal feelings, but it still left a bitter taste in my mouth because of how it led off.

Found this a bit confusing as others have said, book I downloaded was Falling for the Devil by Isadora Brown, but this is the book the link brings up and the story is what I read. so my review is as follows. Not the usual interpretation of Hell and Satan. Is a love story with a difference, lots of hidden messages throughout the book. Our world is not the best and that is mentioned several times. I received this as an ARC, I found it a bit frustrating to read as the grammar was not the best, hopefully before release it will have been fixed. Would have given it 4 stars if this was better, but still worth a read.

This one had me conflicted. The storyline itself is great. It is different and unique where you really haven’t read anything like it. It is extremely well written in the structure of it. But the characters is what had me conflicted. It was like everyone was in high school. The adults and all were very young minded. I understand at first some are in a role but once that role was unearthed the mindset didn’t change and everyone around was also in that mindset. I really would say this is more three and half stars just because of how different the storyline is and how well it was written in the structure sense. To me if the characters mindset was expanded then this would have been a 5 star story.

The Devil Never Looked So Good

Harleen's Uncle Edgar sells her soul to the devil for wealth . The Devil turns out to be Andrew a gorgeous guy her age . Loved this story and the characters . The play back and forth between Harleen and Andrew was really great . How he goes to high school just to get close to her . Great love story and the take on the devil is just great. The fact he has a Australian accent only made him hotter . Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy as this one was so great . You will want to pick this one up .

This is quite an enjoyable, different, and interesting read. A Fairy-tale / Sci Fi romance that is well written, funny, consistent, and romantic. It is an on the edge of your seat captivating read that is full of steamy sex, nail-biting suspense, and twists and turns. The characters are likeable, strong, and deep with amazing chemistry between them. It is a very exciting read and comes highly recommended.

I have to admit it took me a few tries to get into this one in the beginning. But I didn’t give up and pushed on to see that it was a pretty good book. I mean the story is interesting just the setup was rather boring to me at first but once it got into the action and excitement I became more interested. I hope to check out other books by this author.

Harleen has a job, a boyfriend and is finishing her final year at school - util her Uncle Edgar makes a deal with the devil. Harleen knows something isnt right when her uncle moves her into a mansion - and when she meets Andrew, she is confused. What secrets is he hiding? Will she be able to have her happy ever after? How will she cope with losing Roscoe? A great story, with lots of twists and turns

Well this was definitely a game changer. Satan could fall in love and Hell is a beautiful place. This book was so wonderfully written. Harlem and Andrew were great characters. Her uncle sold her soul for wealth. She first despised Andrew, aka Satan, but she realized that the more she was with him, the more she fell in love with him. You have to read this book. It was awesome.

The devil owns your soul.....

As an arc reader, I love to read and review new books by Isadora Brown. Her characters are lovable and full of depth, and are very human in the way she coveys their story. If a devil told me someone had sold my soul to them, I’d fight every step of the way. So, it’s a smart idea, for the devil, not to lay claim to Harleen until he claims her heart. Does the devil actually have a heart to love her with?

Great

What would you do if you're uncle sold you're soul to the devil? That's what happened to Harleen , lucky for her the devil had plans for her and it helps that he is a good looking man with an Australian accent. As her life goes to a dramatic change can she lobe this devil and he in return for her.

I really enjoyed this book ! This author has a great writing skills.

I am undecided on how to review this book. Certain aspects I enjoyed and others not so much. Dialogue between Harleen and Andrew was good and also the comedy. I wasn’t sure how to approach the views on Hell and Satan and some of the moralistic thoughts.

Beautiful written book that I just couldn't put down. The characters were just so well believable within the framework of this story line.. Much of this book will have the readers wanting to get to the end of the book to find out if they will truly get their happy ever after.

I like the way this author writes and the fact that paranormal romances are my favorite thing. This story synopsis is intriguing and one I couldn't resist. I liked Harleen and wouldn't wish what her uncle did on anyone. But finding love where you least expect it makes it all worthwhile. Nice.

Decent story, but needs work.

It took me longer to get through this book than I thought it would, simply because I kept having to set it down an walk away. The story itself is pretty good. The problem I ran into is that there are so many mistakes, I kept being drawn out of the book. Another confusion is the fact that the title calls Falling for the Devil, book one of the Devil series, the cover says it is part 3 of the Devil series, and about a third of the way through the book it says keep reading for a preview of part 2 Dancing with the Devil.

Spoilers spoilers and I'm not joking spoilers ppl

Just not for me, it started out promising then took an odd direction as I read on. Ok so here's what went wrong for me, her uncle sells her soul for money to the devil aka Andrew, and Andrew wants to get to know her and in doing so comes over to her house whenever even attends her school. She's dating a guy and shows no attraction to Andrew, ok so skip so chapters and roscoe her bf goes out of town for a week for a game I'm guessing, bam mister devil throws pebbles at her window, she finds this romantic he ask her to come outside and go with him somewhere, she's like where, he's like hell, bam in he takes her to hell and.....wait for it....hells a kingdom like with carriages and shit, so now it's like a God damn fairytale book straight up what??? Exactly, ok she wakes up an gets married to him but she feels weird cause she has a bf...lol, God it gets worse, ok so some guy tries to rape her and devil and him fight, she wants to be alone, blah blah, blah. He's upset that she wants to be alone an decides to go to the strip club because it helps, yea I know... lol. Moving on, he wants to make it up to her and takes her out to a night club ...yup, ok so they both dance with others to make one another jealous, works, blah blah blah, leave to have sex. Honesty let me just stop, you get the picture. Horrible to me, childish, and just a disaster I had to roll my eyes at.

If you like a cute and fun read, this is your type of story. The first time I read this story, it was on fictionpress. But of course, it was all in one piece instead of three different pieces. Thus series is definitely worth at least one read, if not multiple. I love how Harleen's character grows within each chapter. You can really see the character development between Harl and Andrew. However, there are something's that I am confused about, and I've felt this way since the first time I've read this series on fictionpress. If Andrew is the king of hell, why did he have a hard time with the hunters. He's the devil for Pete's sake. He should be able to snap his fingers and send them straight to purgatory. And the same goes for that creep Nigel or whatever his name was. If Andrew didn't like him, he could have just lock him up. And what's up with the group of people deciding how the people in hell are punished? If Andrew doesn't want to punish a kid for trying to feed his family, they shouldn't question him. Sometimes I felt like Andrew was the ruler of hell, that he wasn't the devil I felt like he was a president or something. The way that he was portray made him seem like he could easily be replaced. Other than those few things, I think that the story was great!

Ok, so when I came across this book, I was somewhat skeptical. Not really a fan of the whole "devil" is alive thing, find it abit over rated... HOWEVER!!! this story was enjoyable for me. I love the chemistry that goes on between the devil himself and Harleen and how even when she wants to stay away from him, she can't! The deal made though, ahh! At first I was not too convinced by how a man could trade his niece to have everything he ever wanted, but then all I had to do really is look around and well people do worse things daily so it seemed plausible (for a fiction story)!

I totally recommend this book for anyone who wants to catch a glimpse at an alternative universe, a place where hell really does exist and it is nothing like anyone has ever imagined. It totally makes you kind of wish a place like this existed!!

I received an advance copy of this book from the author, having read it many years ago and enjoyed it. For good or bad, my tastes have changed over the years and I was a little disenchanted by how short the book was, and by how fast some of the scenes passed. That being said, I think the plot of this story is cute and I remember why my younger self enjoyed it so much.

The main character, Harleen, is a typical teenager who lives with her deadbeat uncle Edgar. One day, she decides she is sick of supporting him and quits her job, leaving him in a bit of a panic. What does Edgar do? He somehow manages to sell Harleen's soul to the devil in exchange for riches. What comes out of this is a love story with lots of bumps along the road.

The part 1 of this series starts out with Harleen's Uncle, Edgar, desperate for money. He doesn't want a job, and Harleen just quit hers. There's no way to pay the bills unless you make a deal with the Devil. Turns out, Edgar can get what he wants, wealth, in trade for his niece's soul. Harleen doesn't know about Edgar's deal, but she's suspicious of his actions, especially when Andrew, a boy Harleen's age, starts hanging around the new house Edgar bought. Andrew seems to be following Harleen around with great interest. She doesn't know why, but she's soon to find out that he's the devil that owns her.

2.5 Stars!

The premise was interesting, but I thought the execution was alright. I really wish this part of the series was fleshed out more as everything happened a bit quickly. I'm not completely emotionally attached to any characters or the plot yet, but I'm interested enough to see where this will go.
