I found Rhett and Kaden so sweet together the first time around in Liz Borino's first book in this series, Secrets in the Air, and the second time around they are even better. Still so totally devoted to each other, so comfortable with each other, you just can't imagine one without the other.

Here in the second story, it is a few years after book one and with Rhett's sister back home and more or less settled in with her son, there's still issues surrounding her that come into play in a huge way in this story.

The suspense is ever present in the story, and for the most part the book is pretty well focused. Where everything really is driven here is with the characters-especially Annabelle. And I'm going to say it right up front-I don't care for her at all. Regardless of her past that was uncovered in the first book, I absolutely cannot find it in myself to like her or agree with her viewpoints at all. I can definitely say that I side firmly with Martha when it comes to Annabelle-and I don't feel bad about that at all.

Everything that Kaden and Rhett have to go through in this story-it will break your heart, tick you off, and then lift you back up again. And if Kaden was my favorite character in book one, he cements that position for me here in book two. He's so brave, so caring, and so strong. And Rhett's dedication to him with everything that happens will touch your heart.

The only thing keeping me from giving this five stars is Annabelle-I actually disliked her character that much. The story itself-it's a wonderful look at this committed couple and how they continually make it through all the trials and tribulations thrown there way. 4.5 stars, and recommended for the 18+ crowd for the hot and steamy stuff (which is again done just right and perfectly accents the story).

Kaden and Rhett won me over in the first book, their relationship is so wonderful. This book picks up three years after Secrets in the Air and I would recommend you read that first. The FBI wants Rhett to go on another mission, one that would take him away from Kaden for too long, then there is his sister who is still dealing with issues from the previous book but she wants a chance to become a more active role in the family business. Rhett having his doubts agrees to let Annablle have more responsibility. What happens next will shock you and what Rhett and Kaden go through is heart wrenching. I love these characters and it was a great read and I really didn’t want it to be over. I hope we hear more about this wonderful family in future books.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable.

Sex: yes

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: yes

Genre: M/M/Romance

Would I read more by this author: yes

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This is the second in the series - and given that I loved Secrets in the Air, I was delighted when given the opportunity to review this book too.

As last time, I couldn't move until I turned the last page - and even then I didn't want to believe it was over. The only reassurance is that the series listing does give me hope for a few more stories about this fascinating group of people. Kay and Rhett are both too wonderful together to be true and yet absolutely believable.

This story is all about family, with only peripheral external input. It stretches the bonds of loyalty, patience and calm very thinly. The initial event is dramatic; it wounds, it hurts and it changes relationships. But through it all Rhett and Kayden's bonds stand firm. And we know it, and that makes everything seem bearable.

This series is most definitely in my reread collection, for when I need to know that loving relationships can triumph over all manner of disasters. Thank you again, Ms Borino.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Kayden and Rhett pull at my heart strings in this one. I enjoyed watching the rollercoaster ride their lives take but through it all they are each others everything. No Time for Secrets at it's core is about family and the part each person plays. I loved this read. I couldn't put it down, the suspense factor had me. I needed to see how it ended but I didn't want it to end, it put me in the readers conundrum. At one point I was reading through the tears in my eyes.

If you haven't tried Ms. Borino's Secrets Series I HIGHLY recommend it. I was estatic to find at the end of the book that there are more titles coming in this series. I can't wait to see what the future holds for all of these characters.

Original Blog Post: Blog Tour, eARC Review: No Time for Secrets (Secrets Series Book #2)

My Rating: 3.5 of 5 Stars

It has been three years since Rhett assumed co-responsibility to his grandfather's multi-billion charter airline business. It has been three years since they found out that Rhett's twin sister, Annabelle, was in fact alive, and had a son. In these three years, Rhett's life as a simple pilot turned more adventurous with the realization the FBI was secretly utilizing them for their top-secret missions. In these three years, Kaden had lived with his husband but was now feeling the need to move on, that he had more to life than being a simple nursing administrator. Their married life was nothing but happy, but they could do with a change.

The change happens when the FBI asks Rhett and Pops, his grandfather, to have a more active role in their rescue of human slaves. As they ponder over their new responsibilities and the longer hours and days apart from their loved ones, Kaden saw it as an opportunity to expand his horizons and maybe look for a more fulfilling job.

As for Annabelle, she seems to want more out of her life and does everything she can to make the changes happen. Unfortunately, her strategy meant starting with a teeny, tiny, white lie that soon endangered the whole family. The lie resulted to a dangerous ditch into the seas and a fight for survival in a jungle that no one knew the coordinates.

I really have a love for this established couple, Rhett and Kaden. Theirs is a love that founded on trust and true companionship. In the first book, when Rhett was hurt, Kaden dropped everything to care for his husband. Now that it is Kaden's turn, Rhett does what he must and learns to attempt control over his dangerous feelings of anger that small lies could have such devastating consequences. I really love this couple.

What I did not like in the first book was the unmother. In this second book, what I did not like as Annabelle. There was not a moment reading this book where I did not feel like a humongous need to stand up and bitch slap this girl. Her being molly cuddled only managed to anger me. Her approach to manage her special child was nothing but sheer stupidity. In my rising anger toward this character, I salute Liz Borino for she has created a character so frustratingly aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhh she was so real. Truth is, I know several Annabelles and the author was spectacular in her writing.

As for the rest of the read, it is pure entertainment and as I said, I love of Kaden and Rhett.

No Time For Secrets (Book 2 in the Secrets Series) by Liz Borino!

This second book picks up 3 years later, Rhett and Kaden have been very happily married but who wouldn't be with these hotties. The FBI missions are expanding and now Kaden is leaving his nursing job to go with his husband on his overseas mission. Both Rhett and his grandfather agree that it's time for his sister to take on a more active role in the family charter airline business. It's time for Annabelle's pilot test and things don't go that well but Rhett is able to land the plane on a deserted island. Now the family has to survive the island and each other which is not that easy with this family!

I love the characters of Rhett and Kaden so very much and their connection is so beautifully romantic and incredibly hot. This book is so emotionally charged that I was falling so much for their story. Once they all ended up on a deserted island, I was like now the family secrets and drama will begin. Kaden is injured and Rhett is there for him and it actually makes their relationship even stronger if that was possible.

I love the writing style of author Liz Borino and how she creates such amazing characters like Rhett and Kaden and their undeniably beautiful marriage. She's so detailed with the story that it flows brilliantly with drama, intrigue, family issues and pure love. I liked how they ended up on a deserted island and having to deal with the elements of the island and also dealing with each other and their family secrets. This was such an intense story that I couldn't put the book down just like with book one-Secrets in the Air. Not everyone in this crazy family is so lovable but you understand them more and love or hate them, you can't deny what a brilliantly written story Liz Borino has written.

Three times.

That is the number of times that I had to actually stop reading this book because I was either very close to tears, or I wanted to yell at Ms. Borino because of the way the story was going. For me personally, if a book affects me that much then it is an automatic 5 star read for me. But I will go into more detail for the review because I need too.

Right off the bat one of the things that I loved about this book was Donnie’s character. While he was a complete brat, he did provide a very good break between all the massive emotions that Ms. Borino had brought forth in this book. I did still enjoy Rhett and Kaden’s relationship in this book a lot more than I did in Secrets in the Air. It was amazing to read about how they were still going strong and the love that they had for each other had just grown deeper in the years between the two books.

Ms. Borino did a great job at describing the plane crash and the after effects of it all. I also enjoyed how realistic the family arguments were in the book. They added such a great level to the story because without that added drama, it wouldn’t have been as great of a story.

Even though this is book 2 in the series, it was written in a way that you could still read it even if you hadn’t read book 1 yet. But I have a feeling that after reading this one, you’re going to want to read it anyway so I would recommend going and grabbing a copy of that first!

I really think that Ms. Borino went above and beyond any expectations that I had for this book; especially after how great Secrets in the Air was. This book definitely shows the different levels of love that a person is capable of. The love for your family, friends, and your husband.

If I could rate this book more than 5 stars, I totally would because it’s just that great of a story! This is a complete must read from me.

3.75/5 stars...

Rhett and Kaden are trying to settle into a somewhat normal life after the events that brought down a human trafficking ring ran by Rhett’s parents, and getting his sister back. Kaden is having some trouble at work, he’s had to fire a few nurses and he’s not happy with his job anymore, so he seeks other options for his career. At the same time, Rhett and is grandfather are considering expanding the charter airline business they run, and decide to give Annabelle a shot at being a pilot.

When a flight goes terribly wrong Rhett, Kaden and the family wind up stranded, and Kaden gets hurt. More secrets are revealed while they are deserted, but the real test will be surviving and making it back home alive, and in one piece. In the aftermath Kaden’s injuries test their resolve, and show the true strength of his and Rhett’s relationship. But will Kaden’s mother be as understanding when they tell her the truth?

Rhett and Kaden have become one of my favorite literary couplings, but at times their relationship seemed forced in the context of this story. I’m not sure if that was intentional on the authors part, to show a true strain while they were in trouble, but it just didn’t ring true with the characters or their story from the last book. But then it was all put right with just one comment from Kaden at the end of the story...

“I’m going to hurt, for a long time. Your touch is the only thing that’s helped at all.”
With everything that happened, to see the way Rhett cared for Kaden in the hospital and throughout the end of the story, it was so touching and it made me cry. I’m anxious now for the next book in this series, to see what will happen with Kaden’s mom.

This is a book for anyone that is a romantic at heart, that likes those lifetime love stories, because that is what Rhett and Kaden have.

This is the second book in a series but it is good about updating you on the first book without being boring. I did enjoy reading about Rhett and Kaden. They have a wonderful relationship with each other and with Rhetts family. I will definitely read the first as I want to learn more about Rhetts twin sister Annabelle.
This book begins with the FBI wanting Rhett to expand his human trafficking search into the Netherlands. But mean being gone from his business for three months. His grandfather can keep things under control at home. He is not worried about that, he has a capable staff to run it. But he doesn't want to be gone from Kaden that long. So when he tells Kaden about the offer, Rhett is stunned that he offers to quit his job and go also.
Annabella has her own reasons for wanting to join this latest mission. If it were not for Rhett and Kaden, she would either still be in the clutches of a sadistic man or dead. She doesn't have her pilot’s license yet so she can't do it alone. She is willing to put her studies for her nurses' license on hold in order to get her pilot's license in time to join them.
Kaden has also been offered a teaching position at Columbia. It is online or hands-on and is in the Netherlands, he knows this is what he would rather be doing than his present job. All things seem to be working out for them to take this latest assignment.
You will thoroughly enjoy this book with all the family involvement, adventure, and hot men on a deserted island, (you have to read it to find out that little tidbit)! I only hope I get the first one done before the third one hits the market!

I enjoyed the first in this series, for me it was a little cheesy, but in a fluffy puffball kind of way.

I struggled with this sequel however.
The benefit in reading a series is that the characters become more rounded, relationships strengthen. For me this didn't happen here.

The story, honestly seemed far fetched: the entire extended family crash lands on a deserted island, they should pull together to survive, but of course things don't go to plan.

Rhett and Kaden are still constantly referred to as husband and husband, which in the first book after a while was irritating, here it made me cross.

Annabelle, a woman who was held captive for years, has made a recovery of phenomenal proportions, and is now on her way to becoming a nurse and a pilot. This puzzled me, I can honestly say that I have no experience of being held captive myself, not do I know anyone who has been. So, for all I know it is completely usual after such an ordeal, and after having a child, to pick up your life almost as normal. It didn't feel real to me. Nor did the portrayal of Annabelle as a spoilt child.

Annabelle's son, who was born in captivity, is portrayed as an irritating brat
I really felt that an opportunity was missed here to show how being part of a family again helped these two. Instead as characters they irritated me.

All the characters felt slightly one dimensional, which combined with the rather unbelievable plot rather curtailed my enjoyment.

It also lacked the enthusiasm of the first book, which was likable in a puppyish 'look at me' cute kind of way.

I compared Secrets #1 to Dallas, this is more like Crossroads (a British TV soap, Google it)

This is a very different reading experience than Secrets in the Air. Rhett and Kayden have been happily married for the past three years and working in their chosen fields. Their love is stronger than ever, but work is a different story. Kayden is stressed, and the FBI is pressuring Rhett to take on more responsibility, which would mean spending time away from his husband.

A re-evaluation of their options seems to be in order, but it's difficult to make informed decisions when the people you depend on are withholding information. When others choices come into question, they turn to the only people they can trust... each other.

NO TIME FOR SECRETS is an emotionally complex story that tackles issues that face many relationships today. Balancing the lingering effects of the past with making new choices for the future, complicated family dynamics, as well as the impact of natural changes that come with the passage of time.

An intense story from start to finish, NO TIME FOR SECRETS draws readers into the drama that is the O'Neil family. Love them, hate them, or a little bit of both, one thing is guaranteed; you won't forget them!

No Time for Secrets picks up three years after Secrets in the Air, with Kaden and Rhett happily married but not so happy when the demands of their careers that keeps them apart. Rhett’s sister Anabelle is ready to take a more active role in the company but when she tries to take shortcuts she endangers the lives of everyone.
I found it hard to like Annabelle. Her mistakes were huge and her apologies seemed so self-serving and not enough to make me think she was going to straighten herself out in the future. Thanks to Rhett’s skills, though all of them were able to land on a deserted island and try to survive. Some injuries are life threatening or life changing.
Liz Borino writes great suspense and this is no exception. Whether you connect to all of the characters or not isn’t as important as the fact that the plot flows smoothly although there are no easy answers for getting to the end. The series that began Secrets in the Air is embellished and layered with the second book, and I really liked that very much. I’m eager to find out what comes next for the O’Neil family and their missions of mercy that take them to scary places to confront terrible people. Great series, highly recommended.

I loved this continuation of the Secrets Series. What's not to love about Rhett and Kaden. We begin with a maiden flight for Annabelle as she tries to earn the trust of her brother Rhett and grandfather. However things don't go as planned and the passengers embark on a powerful journey of love, second chances and ultimately survival. Rhett and Kaden's love for each other still remains strong and it is wonderful to see their relationship grow and change throughout this series.

Liz has a way of writing that just sucks you in from the beginning and I often find it hard to put down once I started. Liz writes from the heart and with so much passion that you fall in love with the characters. This story has many of the wonderful characters from the first book in the series. I feel like I know them all well and they could so be a part of my family. I can't wait to see where this series is going.

This story TOTALLY went a different way than I expected.... and I loved it. I couldn't put it down. I had to know what happened.

There is so much that goes on that I didn't anticipate. Without giving away any part of the story I will say that hold on to your seats.

I can't say that I liked Annabelle in this story. She seemed all over the place from the beginning to the end. I wanted to spank her and her child at times.

Through it all though Rhett and Kaden's relationship is developing and changing even after being together for so long. I loved this story and where it went. Oddly even though there is a bit of a tragedy, it didn't feel that way because of how they handled it like it was just another hurdle for them to get over and their love was no different because of it.

What I love most about this book is that each character is flawed. Except for Kaden because he is my perfect book husband *nods*.

I like that the plot makes sense with every little step Every conflict between the characters is a puzzle piece in the overall drama that fits perfectly.Nothing is forced to fit. .

The story pulled me in so well that when I had an inkling of what was coming I literally yelled at my Kindle...Twice...Make that three times.

I don't want to go into details too much and give anything away but I have to say that I cannot say enough good things about the way the characters of Annabelle and her son were handled. Along with the Rhett & his grandfather's reactions to them.

Liz, I'm ready for #3 now please.

Another great installment in this series. I wanted to beat the ever living shit out of Anabelle. How many times can you blow off what she does because of what she went through? Yes it was horrible in all aspects but you have to stop the babying. She almost got everyone killed. Plus what happened to Kaden is not excusable. At least she agreed to getting profession help for her son, which I'm not sure why she never did that to begin with. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I really like the idea of an established, loving couple. I love Rhett and Kaden and I would continue to follow this story should there be another book in the series. The story was a little unrealistic and a little choppy at points. There were also numerous typos. Overall, three stars.
