This short story is an engaging read about two men who are looking for more than just a hook up. Could Gareth be the man that Damien has been looking for? Has fate finally brought Damien what he has longed for? Play can be fun but will their times together bring more than just fun?

I enjoyed meeting Gareth and Damien. The two make a great couple; each man getting just what he needs from the other. Gareth is a good Dom and he understands what Damien needs and is more than willing to give it to him. Damien gives with all of his heart and only wants to please Gareth. Seeing their attraction quickly turn to more made for a nice read. As much as I liked these two men I would have liked them to be a little more fleshed out and maybe see a bit more of how they interact together. They are hot together and make you want to know and see more of the two men. More of their time in the club would have also been nice. What we see of the men only wets our appetite and had this reader longing for more.

These two men prove that you never know where or when you might find that one person who is right for you and when you do you had better not let them slip away. Gareth is not about to let Damien get away without letting him know how he feels first. It was nice to see Gareth take that step and show Damien how much he means to him. Both men endeared themselves to this reader and I hope that we get to visit their world again.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

After finishing reading Pet by Rosina Scott, I’m left feeling neither excited nor disappointed but instead somewhere in the middle. Some parts of the book I really enjoyed while other parts just left me wanting. It’s a book that has a great idea but would benefit from some more story and character development.

Damien has been looking for the special someone who could give him everything he desired. He goes to The Pound, an exclusive BDSM club, hoping to find that special someone. He meets Gareth, a sexy Dom who wants to give Damien everything he is wishing for. The two have a sexy night where they connect and enjoy a night of mutual pleasure.

I liked the instant connection between Damien and Gareth. They had definite chemistry and this resulted in one hot and steamy sexual encounter. Ms. Scott did an admirable job of portraying the deliciousness of their bedroom antics.

Despite this chemistry, I needed more emotional connection between the characters, especially given the ending. I appreciate that in a novella of only about 25 pages, Ms. Scott didn’t have a lot of opportunity for character development. But if the reader is to believe that the two are that serious about each other, we need to be shown the growth of their relationship, not just told about it.

Another problem I had with the book is how quickly the two men jumped into bed with each other. First of all, Damien had several drinks, which is a red flag in the BDSM lifestyle. No Dom would allow a sub who has been drinking to participate in sexual activities. Second, the discussion of limits was completed in less than five minutes and then a third man was allowed to interact with them which seemed completely unrealistic even for a fictional book.

I liked Ms. Scott’s writing because it flowed effortlessly so if she had just added more to the relationship, I would be able to give this book a higher rating. As it stands, I am interested in seeing what Ms. Scott writes in the future because of the potential I see in her writing.

Damien goes to an exclusive BDSM club is LA to find a Dominate that will fulfill his every need. He wants a chance at happiness but also values the safety measures The Pound has to offer. Gareth is a Dom that wants to get to know Damien. He wants to get to know Damien as see where they will go from here.

I found this book well written with a unique plot. The characters were fascinating. At 25 pages long, this book had a distinct beginning, middle, and ending. While the ending was a little predictable but that was expected with a book this short. My only grip with this story is that the author seems to summarize the story rather than tell it. Overall, this was a very wonderful book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.
