Hockey meets ghost face? I’m in 🥵🥵🥵

The spice is hot, we get mm, mf, mfm, and mmf scenes that will burn up the pages and melt your kindle. Dom’s dirty mouth and Noah’s praise is a heady combination. These three work great, Lily has both light dark parts, Noah feeds the light and Dom feeds the dark. Those two are just as obsessed with with each other as they are with her.

This was such a random little palette cleanser — not something I loved, but I also could not put it down so idk what that says about me. At around 250 pages, it’s pure “what on earth is happening??” energy in the best way. The chemistry kept me hooked, even when I wasn’t sure how I felt about the story itself. It’s chaotic, weirdly addictive, and kind of fun? Definitely one of those books that sneaks up on you while you’re just trying to take a quick reading break

I have some mixed feelings about this and my review will be completely honest. This was 3.5 stars for me and I rounded down. The review might sound a little negative but overall I did enjoy this.
This book was a quick and entertaining read… but the fact that it was such a quick read was a major hang up for me. I genuinely believe with another 100 pages, things could have been so much better explained and this could have been like a 4 star read. I say this because things weren’t really explained well, there was not much backstory to some things (we breezed through a lot of important characters or events), things were very jumpy and so much insta-love/lust/obsession. Some examples I have are the introduction of Dom in the current timeline, Noah’s infatuation with Lilly and Lilly’s relationship with her mom (this especially because from the flashback with her in the principal’s office, she seemed like a loving parent, yah know?). However, this was really entertaining! Ghostface x stalker x hockey = a damn good combo and three things I enjoy when I read romance. I have no shame in that 🤷🏼♀️. Like I won’t lie that I was hooked from the first chapter.
I really did like all three main characters and I do think they complimented each other. Noah was big golden retriever energy. Lilly was very goal oriented and really cared about protecting others. And Dom was just a man obsessed and we 👏🏼 love 👏🏼 to 👏🏼 see 👏🏼 it 👏🏼. Seeing the three of them interact and grow together was fun. However, I feel like would could have benefited from seeing more. Like I mentioned, it just felt really rushed and insta-obsession to me?
Let’s talk about nicknames because we all know I always have SOMETHING to say about the damn nicknames. Sunshine? Great. Pretty boy? Sure. Superstar? Whatever. My one hang up was the fact that we never got the translation of what Dom called Lilly… right? I’m not crazy. I swear. My second hang up was how many nicknames Noah and Dom had for Lilly. Like there was so many and it was constantly switching between them. I should have kept track of them. But it just irked me.
I did enjoy the side characters although we didn’t have much time with them. I think having more time with like Emily, her dad and the team would have really benefited the storyline.
There were some grammar, spacing and punctuation errors that got on my nerves a few times but it’s fine.
Would I reread this? No, probably not. Would I suggest this to a friend? Some of them. Will I carry on with the series? Yes! Do I need a trophy? No.

So I got an ARC of this book and I don’t know if I got a different copy than anyone else but I had emailed the author/PA about things and never heard back…
The premise of the book is amazing but their where just so many inconsistent details and then multiple chapters had sections repeated (hopefully this was just an ARC copy problem though)
in chapter 2 it says she’s far away from that place (assuming it’s her home growing up) after waking up from a nightmare, it literally says she moved away, but then in chapter 24 & 25 she’s apparently back in woods where the stuff with Peter happened? But yet I thought she moved away from home?
And then her parents have a box at the arena (at least I’m assuming it’s at the arena because why would it be mentioned if they don’t have a box at the arena the game is being played in chapter 29) but that’s not their team her dad is a King’s fan so why would they have a box at the arena Lilly works at which is where I’m assuming the game was played since she was able to get through the tunnel and onto the ice when they won

I’d give this book 10 stars if I could! When I was at the 80% mark, I had already texted multiple people telling them to read it when it comes out. The combination of tropes is just perfect. Dark hockey romance, masked stalker, why choose, touch her and 💀, MFM, MMF, bi-awakening. I LOVED the combination of dark and hockey romance (I’m sure there’s other books like that, but none that I’ve read) and I loved all three main characters. I cared about the characters and was routing for their happy ending. There was also some suspense which made me really want to keep reading. Or maybe it was the smut…Lo Gold writes the BEST spicy scenes. Basically, I loved everything about this and everyone should read this book (it’s a quick read!), especially if you like hockey romance or dark romance. I didn’t think this was SUPER dark (still recommend reading the trigger warnings), so even if you’re not a fan of dark romance, add this to your TBR!

I sat in my walk in freezer while reading this…..I have a walk in freezer in my house and the spice was spicing and the heat was heating so I finished this book in my freezer…let that sink in…
Lo…I’m gonna need you front and center. Firstly…I absolutely ADORE YOU. There is literally no one sweeter than Lo Gold…also…it takes a special breed of person to write red flagged , unhinged, obsessive men that make me go feral…and Lo definitely is that type of person.
I was hooked on this story immediately. Lilly is our FMC…she’s sweet but definitely guarded. She’s got walls built up around herself and cautiously living her life after escaping a dark past which she keeps secret. She’s working for the Southern Storm Hockey team and finally feels like she’s in a place where she can give into a relationship with the sweet, ultimate golden retriever hockey player, Noah.
Noah is one of our MMC’s. He’s loyal, sweet, and has been obsessed with Lilly for the last two years. And he’s over the moon when she finally gives him a chance. But the happiness doesn’t last long, because Lilly’s dark past comes barrelling towards them in the form of a new hockey player.
Dom is our last MMC, and he’s the complete opposite of Noah. He’s Lilly’s ex from high school. Mask wearing, unhinged, feral, obsessive and he’s coming to claim what’s his…and that’s Lilly. But when he finally sees Lilly and meets Noah, the dynamics change. He doesn’t want just her, but him too. And let me tell you…it’s as hot as it sounds 🥵🥵🥵
This story is full of the spiciest MM/MF/MFM/MMF spice I’ve ever read. Hence why I was in the freezer. I’m not ashamed to say I was clenching my thighs and squealing while reading them. I need a Dom and Noah in my life ASAP!
There’s a lot of darkness that surrounds Lilly and eventually comes to light. Lilly craves the light that Noah gives her and the darkness that Dom pulls her into. Separately I don’t see them working…but together they are perfect and exactly what they each need.
This is my formal request to Lo Gold…please give us more. I need more of this trio. I need to know more about what happens to them…how they get on with their relationships…I just need MORE! PLEASE ! K…love you bye 🙃🩵

I was hooked on this story immediately. Lilly is our FMC…she’s sweet but definitely guarded. She’s working for the Southern Storm Hockey team and finally feels like she’s in a place where she can give into a relationship with the sweet, ultimate golden retriever hockey player, Noah.

There’s a lot of darkness that surrounds Lilly and eventually comes to light. Lilly craves the light that Noah gives her and the darkness that Dom pulls her into. Separately I don’t see them working…but together they are perfect and exactly what they each need.

I loved this book so much! I was very salty with Noah and Liliana a few times when it involved Dmitri but I let it slide because reading the differences and seeing how things was growing and changing in personal life’s V.S their profession was great. I was not a fan of Dmitri but I grew to love him about 2 chapters or so after he showed up lol.
I already can’t wait for the second book!

I enjoyed this dark why choose hockey romance. If you like dark backstories, obsessive mmc’s and bi awakening you will eat this up. I certainly did.
Noah is such a cinnamon roll mmc. He was light and sweet. Dmitri is a hunter, who is fiercely protective of what’s his. He was darkness and intensity. Lilly is one lucky girl. But she’s also strong, independent and not afraid to stand up for herself.
I loved the dual timeline and the pacing of the story. LO did a great job of keeping you wanting more and waiting to see what happened next.
If you are looking for a fun smutty hockey romance with why choose and underlying suspense I highly recommend this book.

Noah is such a golden retriever that just wants to do well and make the girl he’d been crushing on for years fall for him. Dimitri? sneaks into your room with his ghost face mask. and I loved them both. they were the perfect balance for each other. Lilly we can switch places girrrrl
I loved the time jumps through out the book and how LO gives us insight into dom and lilly’s high school relationship. it makes the connection with them so much deeper.
Dimitri and that dirty mouth of his would have me folding just as easy as Noah!!!
I loved how Lilly always puts herself and needs first, but when it comes to her boys she is not playing.
I don’t read a lot of sports romances just because I am the opposite of a sports girl and have a hard time getting in to them, but but that was not the case here. these hockey boys had me day dreaming, the tension on the ice was SO good. describing the stretching and I could see it happening in my head heheh

Noah is our neighborhood golden boy, he's so sweet. 🥹 Dom is dark and domineering, he's always been obsessed with Lilly, and when he meets Noah, he's drawn to him as well. His possession knows no bounds with these two. 🤌🏼 And Lilly, girl went through some bullying 10 years ago, but she's no weak woman, and I absolutely adore her character and how strong she is! 💛
I can't begin to describe how intense the hockey games were to read in this book! You can really tell the attention to detail that went in to understanding game play and it paid off in strides for me! 🔥
Another jaw dropping ending from the Queen of cliffhangers! I cannot wait to see what comes next! Seriously, that ending had me on the edge of my seat!

I am SO happy with how this book turned out! I’m so happy Lo stayed with her style of writing but brought it into the hockey romance world and it was everything I was hoping for!
We get not only 2 hot hockey men but also a mask, the woods, and boyfriends who become boyfriends. Like what more could you ask for?! 😂
Yes the spice was fantastic (and I absolutely slid into her DMs to tell her all that I loved) but the story line was amazing and suspenseful. The timing of everything kept us on our toes wondering what all actually went down. The chemistry between the MCs was amazing and I loved that we got everyone’s view point because we get to be in their psyche and understand their truths and emotions.
I devoured this in a day and am so ready for more. This has become my favorite from Lo so far!

Besties we have a review coming in HOTTTTT 🔥🔥🔥 for you!!! Their Obsession by author lo gold was a spicy good time!! This was a why choose hockey romance HEAVYYYYYY on the spice, if you love your books with the heat on high this one is for you!! Our MMCs are a dark tattooed stalker and a golden retriever sweetheart!!! It’s also a stalker romance and besties read those trigger warnings because it does tackle some difficult topics!! One of our MMCs is obsessed with our FMC Lily and stalkers her with one OF HER FAVORITE SCARY MOVIES 🥵. There is also LGBTQIA+ representation in this short spicy good time and we love that🏳️🌈. As both of us are apart of the LGBTQIA+ community we love seeing that representation in the books we read too!!! I am sad that I finished it already because I was having a hell of a time reading. This book was the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, twisty, unhinged, and hot-damn moments. The obsession I expected wasn't quite the obsession I was expecting.
Dirty talking golden retriever, Noah, is obsessed with Lilly. Lilly has a past she has run from and doesn't want to talk about. Dmitri is an opposing player, who may hold the key to Lilly's past.
I don't want to give away too much because the twists and turns are what really made this story. I did feel that an extended epilogue scene was missing. There was lead up with a bet being made, but we didn't get to enjoy the payout. Still a great, fun read!!

This book had me giggling and kicking my feet from page one.. 🤭
If you know me, I love a masked man.. and this series is all I need. And please a why choose!? Who wouldn’t love that! One thing about me is if L.O Gold writes it, I’m gonna eat that shit up!
I am so in love with Dom, which is not a surprise if you know me. It was a huge shock to love Noah for me! While this was my first sports romance, I will not be stopping. This was such a fantastic slide into the dark sports romance for me!
If you are on the hunt for your next dark romance, this is definitely one to pick up! And if you are a hockey lover, just get it! You will read it as fast as I did!
5 ⭐️’s , I loved reading from each perspective and getting the flash backs, it really helped the story stay cohesive and kept me in the book! I loved this.

When I first saw the tropes for this book I knew I instantly was interested in reading it. Cmon everyone on here knows im a WHY CHOOSE girlie, but this book. *exhales long with hands on hips* THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE!
Ate it up in a few hours LITERALLY! It was addictive and I wanted to know what would happen next. Throughout the entire book to the very end you see flashbacks to the FMC and her ex-bf MMC past that pieces everything together about their dark twisted love for one another. The new-bf MMC though (who I love to death. We all deserve a Noah) added this refreshing safety for our MMC. Despite the jealousy, hate fucking, and BI-AWAKENING (HAWT HAWT HAWT) the three find some way to make it work. *wink wink nudge nudge*
The plot twist had my jaw drop, the storyline had me engaged and the smut... well lemme just say I need a new pair of panties because this will have you DRIPPING 😏

Probably my favorite by Lo yet, this book has it all: dark romance stalking and obsession, professional sports league setting, murder, yearning, why choose MMF dynamics, and finally getting the girl of his dreams (x2). I knew there was a twist coming but didn’t see what it was until I was slapped upside the face with it. I loved seeing Dom warm up and realize what their dynamic needed was Noah’s sunshine to balance their darkness, and Noah stepped up to the challenge. I hope we get more Southern Storm stories in the future.

Absolutely loved this book,
Don’t let the progress of reading fool you I just had a lot going on to where I couldn’t read for a while but I really started reading it about 2 days ago and just could not put it down, (I fell asleep with my kindle lol)
The story line, the spicy scenes, everything was perfect and the twist at the end was not something I expected. 10/10 and I cannot wait for more of this series to release.
