I think when someone like me, who has read some really great books in their lifetime, reads a book (or in this case anthology) that's just okay (at best), it colors your ability to find enjoyment in it.
The first story I didn't consider to be anything other than a teaser - it just ends. No resolution, no idea of what might be coming that would lead you to read further. The second story was, to be polite, bland. I did not attempt the other offerings.
An awesome collection of romances. A five book collection of western romances. Five powerful stories of love, struggle, and the men who stole their hearts. Wild Western Women is an awesome, well written collection that will steal your heart. I found a few more authors to follow, some were new to me, some old favorites, but all were well worth reading. To be able to read this collection all in one boxed set was a true treasure. Each author brought forth their own unique writing style and voice, each title was well written with engaging and interesting stories. Well worth your time, especially, if you enjoy Western romances.
Kirsten Osbourne – Mail Order Misunderstanding 2 stars
Hold on what???
Julia - Hey I just met you but let's get married and have sex. Tom - Hey I don't want to hear what you have to say so I get keep kissing you to keep you quiet Anna - I'm the woman Tom was supposed to marry but oh well no problem at all but What did I miss out on?
The book was extremely strange from the very beginning. I just kept reading it like is this really happening well if they are okay with it I might as well be too....
This book was well written and interesting, but I can't recommend it because of the foul language and intimate scenes that brought guilt and conviction for even reading it. There is not much Faith based content at all and I am considering giving up all romance novels all together, as a waste of God's precious time. I think I will stick with true life biographies of men and woman of God.
I have only read Kirsten Osbourne's book in this set. This was the main reason I got this book. The story was interesting and suddenly it was just over. I felt it left a lot of unresolved issues. All of the Brides of Beckham stories thus far had been happy endings and this felt like it was just a teaser. I really hope I didn't just get a bad copy though. As for the other stories, I will come back later and read them.
This box set was fantastic. If you love western then you will love these stories. I think my favorite is the story of Meg and her two sisters. After the death of their father they take jobs in town trying to save the family farm, the jobs did not pay enough,so the decided to follow in their father's foot steps and become bounty hunters.
These ladies sure know how to write great books. Each story is a real winner and together, you have an awesome evening of outrageous adventures and heart wrenching drama. Great job ladies! Loved every second.
I love western, I know I was a western woman in another life! This is a great, can't put it down book. Like watching a movie, I wanted it to go on and on. Can't t wait till July to see what happens next in this wonderful western adventure.
This is the best set of stories that I have found. I enjoyed all of the stories. I would have liked links to the author's other books at the end of the stories. Jack_lynnw@yahoo.com
