În 2015 a câștigat premiul pentru cel mai bun roman cu Atavic, iar în 2016 premiul pentru cel mai bun roman cu ERAL și premiul pentru cel mai bun volum de povestiri cu Rămășițele viselor.

I discovered this book by accident. While searching for something at a book-fair, I met the author who was having a stand there. He tried to convince me to buy his book as I won't regret it and, since I haven't read a book written by a contemporary Romanian author for quite some time, and perhaps to give this type of literature and that guy a chance, I decided to give the book a try.
I read it in one day, while I was traveling by plane for a couple of hours. This was possible because the book seems easy to read, has an interesting subject and it does unleashes your curiosity. It's story combines elements of science-fiction, religion and atavism while showing an innovative view on the day of the Revelation and the meaning of the star in Bethlehem. The author made a comparison to the "The da Vinci code", but although there are some similarities (like hidden symbolism for some objects, conspiracies and biblical theories), the style is a little different. "Atavic" seems more inclined towards action, while Dan Brown's book has a better way of creating suspense and fascinating revelations.
Although this is an enjoyable book, I think it has several flaws that sometimes make it hard to follow. The action scenes are interposed between chapters that try to explain the plot, but from time to time there are either some gaps in the story, or the change from one character to another is made too fast to create the illusion of a fast paced action scene, that you might end up wondering how did this or that happen. But since the story ends with a cliffhanger, perhaps everything will look better in the sequel.

Recunosc - citisem ca o sa apara cartea asta mai demultisor. Si cu film pe youtube...SI avea cronici bune. Iata ca e chiar interesanta. Cumva o combinatie intre Dune/Codul lui Da vinci/Abatia. Asa mi-a parut mie. Interesanta, ritm alert, nu o idee pe care sa o intilnesti in fiecare zi. Parerea mea e ca e de citit. Si peste toate - autor roman.

Not my type. Hard to follow. The author has a great imagination and I could find some interesting ideas, but 80% was hard to understand and contained disgusting images.
