Love in NYC #1

Say Anything

Rate this book
Hi, my name is Erin Tanaka. You first met me in The Winner Takes It All, and now I get to tell my story. Before I graced the stage with my presence in New York during the first season of The Next American Superstar, I was an executive assistant for the EVP of a video game publisher in Los Angeles. Meeting my fiance Mike on Craigslist might not have been the most conventional way to find romance, but I guess we must have done something right, because we've survived being together for ten years. Ten long years during which I stuck with my man through thick and thin, guiding and mothering him along the way. Now I've had my fill of being his caretaker and am on the brink of ending our relationship.

When not juggling my boss' intimidating schedule, I've been trying to break into the world of self-publishing, an unexpected yet exciting back-up plan to singing--my first love. There are a lot of possibilities, and I know the only thing that can keep me from succeeding is myself. I'm scared to be alone, but will I let that control my future, overshadowing everything else I've worked so hard to achieve? I'm beginning to lose hope that I deserve something better, something more. I feel trapped. I am afraid to say anything...afraid that in taking a big risk, I may lose everything.

Audrey Harte writes stories that blur the line between raw emotion and irresistible romance. A Hawaii native now based in Los Angeles, she first burst onto the indie book scene with her Love in LA trilogy, which went on to be translated into Portuguese and traditionally published in Brazil. Known for weaving heart-clutching emotion with characters you’ll swear you’ve met in real life, Audrey’s work is fueled by a passion for connection, music, and the art of storytelling in all its forms.

When she’s not writing, she’s designing custom book covers, dabbling in photography, working on a new diamond art piece, painting, learning how to DJ, or creating digital fantasy art — always chasing the next spark of inspiration.

Her first book, Love in All the Wrong Places, was released on April 10th, 2013, and the second book in the same series, All the Right Things, was released on February 13th, 2014. The third and final book in the Love in L.A. series, The Winner Takes It All, was released on October 13th, 2014.

Her most recent published book Say Anything was released on April 3rd, 2015, with the cover featuring actor/model/former Harlem Globetrotter and Washington Generals player, Tyler Fleming White, and fitness model, Catherine Gontran. Tyler was most recently featured as one of the basketball players in the hit Netflix series Running Point with Kate Hudson. I'm so proud of Audrey Harte!! I enjoyed reading "Say Anything" Reading Erin Story I could not help hoping she would find love through her journey with her highs and lows with love and trying to find the right one. I think one time or another we have gone through wanting to find the right one. This was a 5 star read for me looking forward to book two.

Happy Reading

At first I thought I would like the story so I kept on reading this book. But then it seems like Erin the female lead kept on repeating the same mistake everytime she meets a new man. It was so easy for her to fall in love that I think she loves the idea of being in love.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This I the first Audrey Harte book I have read and I really enjoyed it so I will be looking for more of her books.

When we first meet Erin, she is engaged to her boyfriend of 10 years but she feels like the spark has gone out of her relationship. She met Mike, the finance, on Craiglist and together they grew as people and a couple until they were engaged and living together. But the relationship is not turning out how she planned and she calls it quits.

We follow Erin as she makes various bad decisions and falls inlove very easily with men who are all but strangers. She is very quick to meet men off the internet and start a relationship with them without really knowing them.

I had a few issues with this characters flimsy and trusting nature. Seriously what sane woman agrees to fly a guy who admits to not only being a drug addict but also head of a bikie gang to stay with her? Especially when she has never met him?? But even thought it's not how I would live, it still drew me in and I needed to know what she would do next and how it would all turn out.

The book ends on a bit of a cliff hanger but not in a bad way. It just left me wondering if Traver is the 'one' and if they will meet up again.

Definitely a must read for lovers of romance gone wrong but don't read if you have issues with drugs or alcohol.

WOW WOW WOW
Had not read anything by Audrey Harte before - but believe me, I will be reading more of what she has written in the future.

When asked if I was interested in reading this book, I said sure - I'll give it a try. And OMG - it has to be one of the best books that I have read by a new author to me in a long time!!!

I loved the way that she described everything in such detail. Explaining all that is going on in Erin Tanaka's life made the book seem so realistic -- falling in and out of love -- following her dreams. OK - let me stop there, because I refuse to write spoilers - but this book is definitely one of those that once you start, you will find hard to put the book down until you finish.

I can also say that I am so looking forward to the next book in the series!!!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

After 10 years you kinda know what you want from a relationship. Time to say bye Craigslist the great spot to meet someone. I guess after bad judgements and looking into things further than you thought it can blow up in your face. THis was a fun read. Very funny seeing Erin in a 10 year relationship with Mike and questioning it and things that happen.

I loved reading this book, following the life of Erin Tanaka during her highs and lows as she attempts to find a lasting love and follow her dreams. We go through this journey with her as she goes through romances, searching for the one who will treat her as she deserves. This is part I of a trilogy, so while it doesn't leave us on a cliffhanger, it leaves us with a promise of more to come.

The ups and downs of dating with Erin, Mike I had an eerie feeling about him as the book started to get going so of course I disliked him. Traver he seemed like a good guy and I was reading and the book ended I feel like Traver and Erin aren't finished I'm hoping for another book or a novella to see how their relationship progresses or even if it lasts

this was my favorite Audrey Harte book yet!!! i loved the characters (except for Jesse who creeped me out, ha) and the plot kept me hooked to the very last page. audrey's writing style is accessible and easy to read. i loved the NY and hawaii scenes, and felt transported. the main character erin's love life and inner thoughts were easy to relate to as a woman in my 30s! highly recommend!!!

It really took me a while to get into this book, I will admit. Personally, I didn't care for the main character's "neediness" and dependency for all things Craigslist. That kind if weirded me out. However, I did start warming up towards the end. Perhaps she found what she was looking for in all the wrong places? I don't know, but I hope. I'm looking forward to see how book two plays out!

I really enjoyed reading this book. Even if it was about a girl, having a hard time finding love. It was comical and interesting. Loved all, the characters that Erin met. And the little adventurers that came with them. Was really happy I read this book. Thank you so much for showing it to me.

I think this was a decent story. It revolved around Erin and her steak of men, commenting of the daily actions. There were a few things that I found a bit off. One, was that it was pretty much a telling of Erin's life. At times, there was very good imagery, but at other times not so much. Another thing I found off is that the time lines didn't add up a few times....when she was in Hawaii she had a toddler-aged nephew, Kenny (I think?) and a pregnant sister-in-law but later on while she was in NYC, Erin was buying Christmas gifts and said that she didn't have any nieces or nephews to spoil. And again when in NYC, the announcer says that they're "not passing out a schedule today. Look for your badge number on the schedule", and a couple lines later schedules are being passed out. ???? Overall the story was funny and cute at times, and was not bad. I will definitely give Audrey Harte another try on a different book, she sounds like she has some good potential. :-) I give it 3 STARS.

I did not enjoy this book, the alot made me feel like I was in the middle of a really bad reality show, Erin a woman in her thirties makes the choice to dump her fiancee of ten years as she has met a self confessed druggie and biker online, she buys him a plane ticket and has this lose move in with her. through out the story she continues to make bad choices in regards to men, risky Sexual behaviors and I could not get past her teen like decision making skills.

Too much.

I felt there was just too much going on in this book and I found myself losing interest quickly. Erin was all over the place and it was hard to keep track.
