I had the privilege of reading the book ahead of time before it's release and I loved it!!! Baron Berwick and Sam were just made for each other. Grant it Berwick needed to find an Heiress for a wife and he new it could not be Sam. Unbeknownst to Berwick, Samantha was the long lost granddaughter of a wealthy and influential family!!! Berwick then tries to win her but to no avail. Berwicks mother the Baroness is ugly and brutal to Samantha and blackmails her to leave her son alone!!! You have Samantha masquerading as a boy who then also as herself, you have heat, passion, blackmail, ruination and so much more all wrapped up in a wonderfully written story!!! Can't wait for Ms. Langstons next novel!!!

Bad

The story could have been so much better, the author would jump from one scene to another without any introduction or conclusion to the previous scene. I had a hard time following along and had to retread passages to try and figure out what was going on . I have read other books from this author and they were quite enjoyable but this on I just didn't quite get it.

Love this book

This book was hard to put down. It was emotionally exhausting. I was happy, anxious, worried, angry. My emotions ran the gamut. I loved it and can’t wait to read the next book.

I enjoyed this story and it had a lot of funny instances and love from the start. Gossip is bad always.

This is a review for book 1-3. I really wanted to enjoy this. I was just not a fan of the characters. The men in the books were whinny and annoying. I was just not a fan.

I always find regency books where women dress as and take on the role of men as fun reads. There is humor here, romance, misunderstanding, and some predictability. But overall, I enjoyed the plot, the roundness and complexity of the main characters. You can also see the threads of the various other books in this and the companion series, though no need to read them in order.n

It's the weirdest thing. While I was reading the book, I felt like I was reading the first book of the Perfect series by this author. The dialogue was very awkward and there was so much telling, not much showing. Even worse, the story was all over the place. It felt like there were too many cliches crammed into one little book. The author couldn't commit to one all the way and it resulted in a very uncompelling story.

I enjoyed the dual povs and the writing did improve as the story progressed, but the plot was just too jumbled up with cliches to be enjoyable. Hopefully the second book of this series will be better than the first, which was the case with the first series by this author.

I started off really liking this book and the characters Kenneth and Sam/Samantha, but it got so frustrating as it dragged on and on and on. There were so many times when there would be a time jump between sections, but I'd have to go back & re-read the pages to see where the jump occurred. There were so many unnecessary twists & turns that really could have been left out, as if the author put in all the difficulties she could think of before the HEA.

UNBELIEVABLY STUPID

I don't really writer reviews for books but this one I just had to warn people away from. The characters in this look are so poorly developed and incredibly STUPID AND UNREALISTIC in their method of thinking and reasoning, I am honestly shocked someone published this.

I continue to love this author. Her characters are so endearing and well-developed. This story had plot twists that kept me reading. I love it when an author can manage to keep me guessing at what is going to happen when there is a suspenseful part to the book. Can't wait for the next one!

Three stars!

This story was not as good as the others in the series. I thought the interaction between Samantha and Kenneth was long and rather confusing.
