RULE NUMBER ONE OF TIME TRAVEL, PRESERVE TRUE TIME. Greenwich, London. A borough steeped in history. Home of the Royal Observatory, Cutty Sark, Old Royal Naval College and the PRIME MERIDIAN. Also home to the Bradbeers, a family of Time Travellers. If you’re lucky, the Bradbeers will help you live your dreams or recapture lost time. Walk with dinosaurs or presidents, become a Wild West cowboy or a Roman legionnaire, resolve your past or lay your ghosts to rest. Tragedy-ridden John Brewer is given the chance to put his life back on the road to recovery – to venture back in time and bury his nightmares. But when he gives his dying wife a kiss goodbye he is not to know that he’ll rip apart the very fabric of his own true time… and also that of Dan Bradbeer. Many will meet the Bradbeers as they search for answers. But for those who dare to cross them, rule number one will not apply.

The opening novel of what could surely be a long series focusing on the time-traveling family from London, the Bradbeers. In all honesty, they only scratch the surface of the Bradbeers in this book. Not giving away too much of their history or diving too far into any character, we only learn the basics. The authors are no doubt making us wait and learn as each book comes along. I didn't mind this because the book has a rapid pace and is filled with numerous thrilling adventures. The main story line eventually comes back into focus and has a satisfying conclusion that I didn't really see coming. The authors leave you hanging at the end, making you want to have the next book now! Guess we wait for The Time Store Part II...

My recent diet of books appear to have been time travel based. So you can imagine you have to be pretty original in your take in order to hook me in. And that is exactly what the Time Store does.

The Bradbeers are a family who have had the secret of time travel passed down to them through the generations. Proprietors of The Time Store they offer their clients the chance to time travel to either a famous historical event or something in the past or future that is personal to them.

Imagine being able to see your parents or your grandparents wedding. Imagine if you missed the birth of your child and being able to go back and see it happen. All this and more is available to those lucky few who are carefully picked by the Bradbeers' to live their dream.

To me a good book must be able to transport you into the world of the writer or as in this case writers. If you can hear the characters voices in your head, if you can almost feel the rain and see the buildings they are describing then in my view that is a job well done. The clients stories are cleverly linked with that of the Bradbeers' history. I understand there is a sequel being written and I cannot wait to find out more about this amazing family.

A Very Good Time Travel Yarn

Over the years I've probably read more than twenty time travel tales, from Jules Verne to the Time Traveler's Wife. With the exception of the excitement from being introduced to the basic idea by Verne, I enjoyed The Time Store more than any of them. Most are thrillers with time complications or crises about getting back. This is a moderately complicated story with several twists and a happy ending. It is well plotted, the characters are well developed and it is a fun read. I recommend it.

I loved this book. It's outside the genres that I would usually read. I got it initially as a free book for my Kindle and was hooked within a few pages. Although it is time travel based, the way it has been produced almost has you believing that this is possible. Extremely credible and a fascinating storyline. Since finishing, I have bought a paperback copy for my niece, am about to buy a signed copy for me and am getting very impatient for book 2. Read it. I can't see many people being disappointed.

I really enjoyed this book. The only downside was the use of the 'f' word. I couldn't tell that it was necessary to the story, and I found it offensive. Back to the story. I loved it. I liked the characters, they felt real to me. The matter of time travel was quite well done. Very interesting. I didn't want to put the book down until I finished. Of course, I had to. Great book.

It was a very enjoyable time travel story. Enough so that I purchased the second book in the series. It was a bit hard following (I guess I'm slow) at times. But once I'd catch up to happenings I'd have to keep reading.

I am just super excited about wining this book. I wanted to read it so badly. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Also, I certainly did appreciate the cheerful written on the inside of the book. Also, it was great because both of the authors signed their names individually.

Will start reading it soon. Just finishing up one I am currently reading.

Amazing plot, a great read

Amazed how this whole story was executed. It gets little boring in the middle but it still does have hints of info only to be thought about later.

Very nicely written. Loved it!

Captures your attention from the start and keeps it

Simple idea with a complex execution. Bounce around anywhere anytime but with the rule that you cannot modify the true timeline. Well researched historical settings, very British and you learn terms like fly-tipper. A bit loose with the small stuff with regards to changing nothing, but otherwise why time travel at all? Will read the next one.

I am a sucker for a time travel story. This has loads and, as well, it puts a nice spin on it. A family full of time travelers that do so for the leisure of others. Very different. I guess one could argue that Doc. Brown used his time machine for leisure, but his was so disastrous.

I found that story was wound in a pretty straight forward way. I was expecting the standard disjointed storytelling that comes with complicated Time Travel stories. This was much more fluid... oddly. There certainly were some questions that popped up in my head while and after reading..

There were some moments were I just felt like the story just dragged that unimportant things were happening, but I do see that some of those moments had plot points that were not noticeable until the end. Other ones really were kind of pointless.

One big thing I noticed about this book is that I could easily see this as a television series. Working with a few clients a week and adding the full time mistake arcs through the episodes to create big suspenseful conclusions as they move to put true time right.

As I neared the end I was a bit worried that some things were not going to get touched on again. The percentage going closer and closer to 100 without mention of it again. But one of the big ones was.. well not resolved but served for a solid enough cliff hanger that I started following The Time Store on Facebook so I will know when the next book will release.

Some other questions I have had may contain spoilers (in a way) so .. be wary in reading them.

*******spoilers below**********

When Time Traveling (being outside "true time") is the aging process halted?

Was the timeline for the crash as it always was... or is there several different timelines?

Being that it only makes sense to have several timelines... why did we not get to witness the one mystery one where we actually learn what happened to have what I would consider the middle timeline?

This is a heavy one for me, because I feel as if what was done to "fix" things was exactly what happened before. To me it would have made sense.. seriously.. spoiler her.. for Sarah to have fixed the bike..or to have helped Nathan in getting to the crash in time. Maybe a glimpse into what we never saw John do? Or an explosion of some sort... idk.

This was a free download for kindle, but I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to own the paperback book too, so have purchased it directly from the Andrew Clark and Dee Matthews. ( find their Facebook page)
I found the story gripping, I want to read more about the family and their adventures. The family start off by almost being a time travel agent- missed a concert, want to research history etc. They fund their life style by buying / obtaining clocks and selling them in the Time Store. They also have ancient clocks on display, I enjoyed learning about these and one of the events which seems to start the change (back) from the "day trips" involves the theft of one of these from a travelling display. I am not going to say any more as I do not want to spoil the story. I only wish I had the ring and bracelet, so that I could travel forwards to read the next book in the series. A bonus of buying the book directly was a sneak peak at book 2, I am writing nothing here about it. However, I am more impatient than ever now to read the full book and will try to get it in hardback if possible. Buy it, you will not regret it.

The Bradbeers have a time store where they sell timepieces. They also have another business that is more secret. They can time travel and take clients forward or backward to observe and participate in something. The main rule is not to mess with past events that change the future. This book introduces you to the 3 siblings and their dad plus some clients. Dan returns one time with no memory of what happened and with his arm burning. Life goes on until 5 years later. Then the answers begin to come.

This book was interesting concept and I kept reading to find out what happened, but I was turned off by excessive use of f word and I felt it was a bit rambling at times. I understand the writers wanted to fill out the main characters some, but some of it seemed unnecessary. The book leaves you on a curious cliffhanger.

This is another free book I received with no obligations what so ever. I loved this book. I'm not sure why either. The characters didn't, for the most part, grab me. There was a little awkwardness in the plot which may have, in all honesty, had as much to do with putting the book down in the middle of a chapter and not getting back to it for 2 days. I just couldn't remember what was going on at that point. And a few other things that just bugged me.

Still, I just wanted to get back to it and didn't want to put it down. I liked the story. 'Side' characters were good. (They may be regular characters in future books.). The concept intrigued me. They've obviously set up other books but this was a complete story.

Time travel is difficult to write well but this one does it. At least, I feel it does. Be your own judge.

A tad too long between the two seminal events. Not wanting to drop spoilers.

Otherwise, a good read. Nice take on time travel. I like the idea of a time traveling family passed down through the generations. However, strangely, I also just read another book with the generational time travel motif. That made it a bit weird for me because I was really pleased by the other book's generational thing. Kind of softened my enjoyment of a similar sub-genre.

Still, I recommend it for Timey-Wimey lovers everywhen.

I enjoyed this book: the characterisation is sound and the plot is excellent: very inventive and well thought out. It's definitely able to be further developed into a cracking series.
While the writing is good, with some interesting imagery and description, it could do with a good edit just to make it a bit more sleek and appealing to a wide audience. I'd hate to think that would stop people from reading it, but it might.
Well worth a read :)

I'm hoping for a prequel

I quite enjoyed The Time Store, but the more I read the more I felt I needed to know more about the beginnings of the time traveling family. I have visited Greenwich many times. Might I be bold and suggest the authors consider writing a story about the first generation discovering their talents back in the 16th century and visiting our times, stopping a few times along the way? I think this would make a wonderful illustrated novel.

I read this based on reviews... I do not see what people liked about this book. It seemed to drag on and really could have been about half the length. As far as Time travel books go this is probably one of the worst i've read. I actually was glad to finish it so I could move on to something else.

It was kind of all over the place and there was way too much stuff that really just didn't matter.

loved this book and could not put it down. loved the details that made it a rich world and references to other incidents off the main story. made it more real for me. a couple of disturbing passages made me wonder if I was reading the same book but I still read the whole thing in less than 24 hours!

A really great read. Right when you think you know where the plot is heading, something changes and it goes another direction. Very easy to read and you really identify with the characters. I enjoyed this book very much!!

I love a good Time Travel novel. This one was really fun and I kept thinking it should be a television series. Not the best in terms of writing style, but the story was good enough to keep me reading and now I'm starting the second in the series.

Brilliant and intelligent

Everything about this story was gripping. A real time travel page turner with relatable characters and no SciFi Mumbo-Jumbo! Just good old fashioned time travel!

Awesome twist on the time travel genre (which isn't easy to do)... although it could benefit from a tight edit the book is very well written, well plotted and well delivered....

Needless

description of irrelevant details, such as how a beer was served, detracted from a generally good storyline. Needs an editor's help.
