I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoy a good damsel in distress trope and this book was perfect for what I was looking for. As much as Liv needed help from Dallas though, he needed help from her too. I loved how tender Liv was with Dallas and getting to see her comfort him really made me love their relationship. She might have been the one in danger but this author did a good job at showing that Dallas wasn't some invincible superhero and that reality of the story made it very easy to fall into.

FOUR 'I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE' STARS!
The second book in Marysol James' Unseen Enemy series is a wonderful addition, picking right up where the first book ended but focusing on Olivia's situation. I love the way the author has interwoven the stories, as vastly different as they are, and how she builds on the characters and plot lines from the first book while laying some groundwork for the next two books. I loved how the guys rallied to be there for both Olivia and Dallas, and how gentle Chris and Jim were when they explained Olivia's situation to Jenny and Kat.
"Pick up, Dallas, please!"
Supermodel Olivia Jameson, one of Emma's best friends, is being stalked. The stalker has escalated his contact with her and she is terrified. Dallas Foreman, one of Dean's best friends, is a retired Army Ranger sniper and the owner of a world class security company. Olivia receives a frightening text message that shows her just how close this stalker has gotten to her, and she immediately attempts to reach her bodyguard, from a firm that Dallas does not respect. When she gets the guard's voicemail, in her terrorized state, she calls Dallas and he calms her down as he rushes to her. Dallas' firm takes over Olivia's security and a few of his employees are introduced in this book as part of Olivia's security detail.
"You're safe. I've got you."
Dallas not only takes over her security, but he also begins an investigation into Olivia's stalker. During this time, his security team is in place with Dallas as the inside man on the overnight crew. Dallas and his team really get to know Olivia during this time. Having worked with numerous celebrities over the years, they fully expected a spoiled, entitled, self-important persona. Despite her obvious fright over this situation, Olivia surprised all of them with her genuine kindness, her easy-going, appreciative and cooperative nature, and her quiet strength in this situation. Dallas' feelings for Olivia grow tremendously over this time, but he is unwilling to progress beyond a professional relationship until he closes this case. Olivia is equally taken with Dallas, and she is very attracted to him.
"It's going to be OK, Olivia. I'll make sure of it."
The stalker again shows just how close he can get to Olivia regardless of her new security detail, and Dallas and his team are enraged. They ramp up security, and Dallas and his team members are humbled by the amount of respect, trust and faith that Olivia still has in them. Dallas is falling hard and fast for her, in a way that he knows he wants something real and lasting with her. As investigation intensifies, Dallas' gut instincts are telling him that something isn't right, something is being overlooked, and he has everyone working around the clock to figure it out. Dallas has his suspicions about what could potentially be going on but there is nothing he can concretely put his finger on. He's furious that the stalker was able to get so close to her again, presumably while he was there, and he moves Olivia into his home. Their attraction to each other is palpable, and they both have deep feelings, but Dallas is trying to keep his focus on the case before he makes a move. They continue to get to know each other better during this time, and Dallas shares some of his personal secrets with her in an effort to even the field since he uncovered all of her secrets while investigating her background. They finally confess their feelings to each other and give in to their passion.
"What am I missing?"
Tensions are high, Dallas and his team are on alert, and his every instinct is telling him that something is off. They're missing something big, something important. The stalker makes his move, and he does it in such a way as to purposely hurt not Olivia physically, but also Dallas mentally and emotionally. The attack is vicious leaving Olivia scarred in many ways despite her ultimate rescue by Dallas. I don't want to give too much away about this portion of the story, except to say that it was positively gripping. I had my suspicions about the stalker, but I certainly did not see all the ways that this story would unfold. This portion of the story was very well executed, and the author's creativity in unraveling the crime was positively gripping. Showing the little bit of a twisted creative mind only served to further cement my fangirldom of this author.
"You failed her."
Dallas blames himself for the attack, and he is consumed with guilt. He begins to pull away from Olivia in preparation of her anticipated realization that he could/should have done more to prevent the attack. Olivia sees his retreat as confirmation of his repulsion of her physically after the attack. Thanks to encouragement from their friends, Olivia and Dallas work through this and come to realize that they were both very wrong. Dallas is so patient with Olivia during her recovery from this traumatic event. Olivia, once a world renowned Supermodel, is not the same picture of externally beautiful perfection she once was, and she has a very hard time adjusting to her new circumstances and accepting herself. Of course, Emma and Dean's love deepens as she continues to battle cancer, and the breadcrumbs are laid to set up books for Chris and Jenny as well as Jim and Kat.
"I love you, Olivia. More than I can ever say."
This was a fantastic addition to the Unseen Enemy series. Marysol James is truly a multi-dimensional author with the ability to turn out amazingly engrossing stories. A little of Olivia and Emma's friend, Jenny's, background was uncovered in this story, and I'm highly anticipating the next book. Another job well done, Marysol James!

The second book in the Unseen Enemy series picks up right after the first book left off, as Liv is being stalked and Dallas rushes to the rescue. And then, romance.
The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
-Kindle Unlimited: love being able to devour this series on my subscription.
-Continue to be impressed by the writing: Ms James brings three dimensional characters together with a tightly paced plot (each book is about 150 pages, more or less), and it keeps getting better. As a person who loathes cliffhangers, I actually like the fact that the stories have flowed together, yet each gives enough of an ending that I’m left satisfied.
-Liv and Dallas have their own heat: Liv and Dallas have some good sexual tension and passion between them. While the driving force of the story is finding out who is stalking Liv, their relationship is given time to develop as well.
-A bit of a white knuckler: As the story reaches its conclusion, knowing that Ms. James has isn’t afraid to keep things real, I was genuinely concerned as to how bad it was going to get. The ending is ultimately bittersweet yet hopeful, much like life.

Great second book in a tight, well written series. Highly recommend.

This was a quick read. It was pretty good- I liked Olivia and Dallas and the way they were with each other. Dallas says in his inner thoughts that he has been attracted to Olivia since meeting her, but we don't find out if he has slept with anyone since meeting her. I didn't like the mentioning of all of his one night stands with redheads. Of course Olivia is a redhead and that takes away some of the specialness for me. He has already been with "boatloads of redheads"- his words. That lessens his attraction to her in my opinion because he seems to be attracted to any redhead he comes across. The drama was done well. I didn't like all the other POV's- it made the book a little choppy to me. Safety gang safe

4.0-4.25 RATING- My second book by Marysol James and I liked it. Definitely a fan. I'm a self-proclaimed lover of damsels in distress and guilty pleasure reads. Marysol James delivers on both! Her writing is sold, her stories are very readable, and I really like the characters. I think it can be difficult for author's that write novellas to get the pacing and development right but both books so far have been timed perfectly. I also appreciate the sexy scenes. Very well done and natural, nothings too overdone. I can't stand reading a book that has a bunch of great one liners that just seem to be randomly put into a story.
I will say that although this book could be read as a stand-alone, it starts immediately at the end of book one and all characters in this series seem to make appearances throughout each book. Because of that and the fact, I really think it's worth it to start with the first book in the series before reading this one, although, totally not necessary.
Overall, I really really like this author. This is exciting for me because I feel antsy if I don't have a good book to read. I've been in a bit of a book funk lately so finding a series I can dive into makes all in my life right =) I'm on to book three!

Another fabulous read in the Enemy series. Unlike with the first book (which I loved), this time we got some suspense and action and again it just worked for me.
Marysol James’ characters are fast becoming favourites of mine. They are honest, open, tough, strong, loyal and don’t dick about. Both Olivia and Dallas are kickass characters that possess all these qualities in spades. Throw into the mix a solid story, great side characters and brilliant writing and we have another winner.

4.5 stars for book #2 ^_^
I really enjoyed this one. I think that the "Unseen Enemy" series seems more like a serial/series combo. I would recco reading in order, since the previous H & h and 2ndary characters are mentioned quite a bit & are REALLY helpful to the story. This is Olivia & Dallas' story. There was some suspense right from the beginning- in fact it was teased toward the end of book 1. I am somewhat disappointed that the stalker I.D. was spoiled on one of the Amazon discussion threads. I did guess who the stalker was though. I would have liked to have it revealed to me in the story since it was done at the perfect time. WOWY WOW WOW Dallas is smokin' hawt! Whew!
Olivia, is beautiful inside & out (Dallas' thoughts!).This book also ended in a HFN, but again I have confidence that Olivia & Dallas will be in book3- which I'mm already reading! Enemy Mine

Dallas Foreman has long wanted to make a move but the timing never seemed right. When Olivia has a break in though and cant get a hold of her security team, she seeks out Dallas. Dallas feels like he is missing something where Olivia's stalker is concerned. He vows to protect her but what happens if he is too late figuring it out?
Great read. I really enjoyed this one and it kept me guessing on who was the stalker. Had a twist at end was not expecting. I need to go back and start series from the beginning.

Okay, so these are not really standalone novels. While the story focuses mainly on Dallas and Olivia and her stalker, we get to see more about Emma and Dean, and the beginnings of thoughts on Jenny and Chris and Kat and Jim. Also we meet some new men and women.
Essentially, Liv's got a stalker, Dallas wants to protect her. We learn significant horrific things about Jenny's past... which now only Dallas knows, but the guys are on to her secret because they're smart and observant.
I really got a sense this time of how each of them feel about each other, even beyond the sex... although it's a lot of telling rather than showing.

Liked this one and yes there is some additional story with bk 1's characters. There just seemed to be a lot of repetition of actions, lines, etc. from bk 1. Felt like I was reading the same bk with different characters. Guessing the rest of the series is similar so I think I'll pass on the rest. But this is a nice light read with a little drama/suspense and a HFN ending that I'm sure will more forward in bk 3.

Another great book in this fantastic series. Amazing characters, great plot and a sweet but very hot romance. I love the fact there isn't a lot of drama between the H & h. Highly recommend this series.

I really loved this book, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. In addition to a steamy hot romance, and a well written damsel in distress troupe, this time we got some suspense and action and I was totally here for it and couldn't put this book down.
I love Dallas and Olivia as characters, they are honest, open, tough, strong, and loyal-- so well written. Olivia Jameson is a supermodel with the exact opposite of how you would think about a famous model. She's caring, selfless and beautiful on the inside and out. Dallas Foreman has his own security firm, and he has known Olivia for awhile and has long wanted to make a move but the timing never seemed right. When Olivia's stalker starts acting upon his scary messages and breaks into her home, she cant get a hold of her security team and seeks out Dallas. Dallas keeps Olivia safe, makes her feel protected, but also feels like he is missing something about her stalker that is so obvious. He vows to protect her but what happens if he is too late figuring it out?

Highly recommend this book! Great read. I really enjoyed this one and it kept me guessing on who was the stalker. Had a twist at end was not expecting.

Oh my gosh my heart was in my THROAT when Dallas was working up to take the stalker out I was like HURRY UP! WHAT DO U MEAN YOU NEED *YOUR* WEAPON JUST USE ONE THE POLICE HAD!!!

didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one, but still quite liked it. i'm very impressed with how much these books pack in even with how short they are.

Book 2 Dallas and Olivia.
This book picks up exactly where the previous book left off. Supermodel Olivia has a stalker who has been escalating. The security firm she's hired isn't ta(king the threat seriously and aside from changing her cell number the threatening texts continue coming. After the party for Emma, Olivia receives a text describing the dress she was wearing and threatening to rape her. She calls her security people and they don't answer so she calls Dallas buddy to Dean from the previous book) who is a body guard and owns his own protection agency.
After locking herself in her bathroom while Dallas is enroute, she receives a text with a picture of her living room with the post party mess and realizes her stalker is in her house. When Dallas arrives he finds the front door open but the house is clear. Dallas takes over Olivia's protection and she's relieved to have him. They've gotten to know each other over the last few months while all the friends shared in helping Emma and Dean through her illness and treatments. Of course they are attracted.
The romance doesn't get going until the half-way point but the first half is good with the build up of the mystery storyline.
It stretches the imagination that a world famous supermodel would live in Denver but it's not a huge picking point. There is violence that is hard to read, and the backstory of one of the characters hints at unthinkable violence against a woman.
The author does a nice job laying the groundwork for future stories while maintaining the flow of the story. I'm still liking the secondary characters more and more as this series progresses. It's entertaining.

Short, but good
I thought this book was fast, but very entertaining. It is the second book in the series, about another couple, and I thought the author did a very good job keeping the plots different--this one being much more in the suspense category. The secondary characters still play a pretty big roll in this book, but it did not bother me here. I really enjoy the characters--all of them--and I like how the author seems to keep their stories going. For a shorter length book, I thought the actual suspense was done pretty well, and kept me guessing. I found I actually felt very bad for the h at the end, and what happened to her. I am really liking this author's writing style. Good dialogue. Sex scenes are spicy, but I found a little predictable. Actually wouldn't miss them if they were omitted--I liked the plot that much. One thing that stopped me from giving it a slightly higher rating is------------ENDING -SPOILERS---------the h ends up chasing down the H at the end to make him see reasons why they should be together. Just a pet peeve for me--I like my H's to do the chasing. I want my h's to be with fighting for!!!

Pretty good
The story was pretty good. The characters were ok, nothing too special about Dallas or Olivia. I actually would have liked to know a little more about their background. The most interesting part of this book was the search for the stalker. Everything else, to me, was secondary. I don't think it was necessary to have love scenes with Dean and Emma. I feel it takes away from the building relationship between Olivia and Dallas. There was no fighting their feelings they had mutual trust and attraction; Dallas having gotten over his commitment problems before the book started. Medium heat factor. Overall good book, and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Olivia Jameson has a stalker. And she hasn't told any of her friends about it - the only one who knows is her assistant, Nigel. And they have a security team working on it, but they don't think it's serious. Until Olivia gets a text showing the stalker knows what she's wearing and has a picture of her living room!! Dallas Foreman has had a crush from afar on the swimsuit model for years - what male hasn't? And getting to know her through Emma has shown him she's much more than a pretty face. When she can't reach her security team, she turns to Dallas. There was plenty of suspense and action (both inside and outside the bedroom!) and I really enjoyed this book. It's short, but there's a lot packed into it!

I love Marysol James, and I love her books. I would say this one is a little less with what we call triggers than her usual, but it was just as emotional. I love Olivia and Dallas, and this entire set of characters. Olivia is a model, but nothing superficial about her. She grew up with humble beginnings and never forgot where she came from. She's an all-around wonderful person and a great friend. Dallas is all alpha-strong, commanding, but doesn't hesitate to offer a helping hand. I love the strong ties of friendship and the easy camaraderie in this book. I especially love how everyone has each other's back, and willing to step in to protect at a moment's notice.

I made a big mistake when I bought this book as soon as it went on sale and then started reading it after supper last night. I ended up going to bed about 4 hours past my bed time because I didn't want to stop until it was done. I had to be sure that Dallas and Olivia got their HEA! No spoilers from me - but I will say that I'm curious where Marysol James takes Liv now, since the character has some major things to deal with after what happened to her. Thank goodness she has a sexy ex-sniper to curl up to in bed ;)

Really good, this one in the series is quite suspenseful and drama filled but the story is really done well, loads of twists with the "who's the bad guy". Liv and Dallas are a perfect couple, their both absolutely gorgeous but also good on the inside. Loved that they didn't immediately fall into bed it was gradual which was sweet. You get loads more insight into the friends, Jim, Chris, Kat and Jenny, but there is new characters mentioned and I hope you get to hear more about Sully, Cordela and Mark. Loving the series so far.

I hated the ending. I felt like the heroine did not get a happy ever after. I read romance novels to relax, not feel sad about what happened to the heroine.

The hero thinks she's blames him for letting her stalker get to him and the heroine thinks he won't think she's beautiful any more. I hated this ending.

Excellent. Really excellent.
Sexy and funny and I loved the twist on the stalker's identity. It was a bit mean of Marysol to make me believe that it was that one person (who I actually thought it was) when he ended up being a nice guy after all. I felt bad for suspecting him, but I guess that was the point, right?
I'm also looking forward to finding out more about Jenny and Kat - their stories have been hinted at in books 1 & 2 and I'm intrigued!
