I write steamy paranormal romance, particularly vampire and shifter/werewolf right now. Check out my two free series starters, Life Blood and Taken. :)

I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.

In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.

My world puts a different twist on everything from vampires (they're alive) to elves (aliens) and demons (interdimensional djinn). The Alpha's Captive series features a kickass heroine out of the gate, while Cora's Choice series--followed my Cora's Bond and others--has my "big" character story line.

Yes, there's an HEA. :) But the story keeps going on!

As their journey together continues, we learn more about vampire history and how the "good" fraction of vampires are trying to save and coexist with humans. Cora continues to struggle with her decision as to whether to return to her human life or if she could even exist without Dorian. Is it really love, or is it being forced upon her?

This review will be for books 4-6 of Cora's Choice. It starts off at her "introduction" ceremony. Here she meets all kinds of people agnates, cognates, and humans under the thrall of agnates, and even children agnates are there. This party is to make sure all agnates and other creatures know that Cora is Dorian's cognate and she is off limits, this is also to show that his research is working and soon they won't have to kill as many humans to live. This news is great to some but not to all in attendance. She meets several people, and some do things to purposefully scare her, which later we find out was exactly what they had hoped would happen. Of course there are hot sex scenes with Dorian and Cora, the author makes you feel their bond. We find out more about Dorian's world, his past, what he can and cannot do, it makes the books more interesting, to have this knowledge. I didn't like how her friend Lisette was acting about Dorian and how she kept pushing Geoff onto her. Then Cosimo shows up and takes her for a ride, trying to show her a different side of their world, he is clearly trying to scare her, but the big secret he shares with her about the "bond" is shocking. Next in Blood Bond book #5 Cora has a decision to make, what does she want? I didn't like how she talked to Clarissa about meeting Geoff, how she called him her boyfriend, it felt disrespectful to me. I know why she did it but I did not like it. I did not enjoy reading about her meeting up with Lisette and Geoff, and Cora and him holding hands felt so childish and I felt no connection with these two, no passion. I did not care for Cora much in this book but I was happy with the decision she made in regards to him that night. Lisette got on my nerves, pushing to know what happened and for something to happen. I loved the scene at her Gramma's house, how Dorian came because he thought she was hurt and I love how he promised her then and there that he would not change her even if she asked him to. We got to learn about Cora's past in this book, about her parents and a little more about Dorain, what he does for a so called living and what he used to do for fun, it is sad how he had falling into a tedious existence but how she had changed that for him. One part in this part of the book was super hot, and it happened in his car. The sex scenes in this book were smoking hot. Book #6 Blood Price starts off with Cora at Dorian's home again and her now interacting with Jane. I like how she makes up with Jane, how she explains to Jane that she did not mean to insult her and that this was all new to her and that she would have to be patient and that being a mistress takes practice too. I like how she wants Jane to be more relaxed around her, how she needs Jane to be more of a friend to her then a maid. We get to read more about Dorian's vampire friends when he has a get together on his yacht. Parts of this time was weird (blood collection) but other parts were interesting (discussing the bond and breaking the bond). I was happy they were going to spend some alone time together, away from the others. I liked that we learned about his past cognates, how this opened up their conversation for her to share that she was worried about failing her Gramma and what this would mean to her. They had a real conversation which was nice. He made that night really special for them and the sex scenes were beautiful. I loved how he opened up to her, told her what he had to offer her and then went one step further and offered her everything. How she reacted was surprising and what happens next was shocking but it was all necessary because what then happens between the two of them is just perfect.

I am not a serial reader, this is my first as a review reader and cliff hanger hater have just never found the serials appealing. V.M. Black has changed my mind. I LOVE THIS SERIES! I just started the continuation of Dorian and Cora's relationship in Cora's bond. I am loving it.

This set is the last three books in the serials of Cora's choice. In it Cora is tossed to the wolves figuratively speaking as she is influenced in to attending her "coming out party" for becoming Dorian's cognate. It is also an "in your face" party for his enemies who see Cora as a threat to their way of life and want of a future of ruling humans. Cora has become the symbol for Dorian's views of limiting the deaths of humans at the hands of agnates (vampires) during feeding as when a rare human is found that can survive the vampire's kiss and become a cognate can feed them with no human feedings necessary. Until now it was hit and miss, but Dorian has found a scientific method to do end the senseless feedings and allow all agnates to find a cognate to bond with. IF this is not enough to make Cora's head spin, some of the good guys seem bad, some of the bad guys are down right scary, and some of the others are just terrifying and they are all at the party for her. After the party is when Cora is really thrown for loops seeing the world as it really is, not what she knew as a human, and also find her choice. She has discovered through an enemy that she can break the bond with Dorian and become human again. Cora must decide what the costs are and what is she willing to give up.

The is well written and even with a gut wrenching decision our heroine is age appropriate in her reactions, but never whiny. I highly recommend the entire serial for Cora and Dorian as so far I have not been disappointed!

Cora decides to go and see what he's talking about and that's when he brings up that there's a way she could break the bond. If she breaks the bond there are no second chances you can't go back ever. Dorian comes to her after her melt down in her grandmothers house to make sure she's ok. All she wants is for Dorian to tell her the truth about his world and not leaves her in the dark of danger around her.

Cora has been blood bonded to a billionaire vampire and brought into a world of unimagined sensuality and danger and she’s determined to find a way out – no matter the price in this enthralling paranormal romance.

These three stories invite the reader to live in Cora’s world as she struggles with the emotional turmoil that surrounds her as she tries to make a decision one that affects her life as well as her heart and one that can never be reversed. The reader can’t help but get pulled in deeper as Dorian immerses Cora in his world and tries every way imaginable to ensure that she makes the right choice. These strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps expectation high throughout as the reader awaits Cora’s decision.

There is certainly no problem in the chemistry department as it burns up the pages with some hot and steamy sex scenes which gives Dorian an edge but in no way guarantees this relationship. Lots of excitement and danger from Dorian’s enemies as they try to influence or even force Cora’s decision which adds action and spice to the story and the well written scenes and details bring the story to life while the well orchestrated events ensures that the readers wants to know every last detail.

I have been completely captivated by Cora’s story so far and I can’t wait to find out what comes next for her and Dorian.

Blood Rites #4 5 stars
Is the bond by choice?
Cora is feeling like all her choices in life are slowly slipping away. Her life is no longer her own. Is there a way to break the bond or is she to someday become a mindless blood slave to Dorian. Dorian has used his influence over her a few times and she doesn't like it. But will she always be able to tell when he’s doing that to her. Lost to his will and nowhere to go, or so she thinks. Well written and very entertaining.

Blood Bond #5 5 stars
Deciding to become human again
Cora learns that there may be a way to break the bond and become human again. Will she? Does she want to? What will it cost her? Confusion is rampant is this book for Cora. She doesn't know what she really wants and if it’s even her who wants it. She learns not all things are as she believes. Well written and very entertaining to read.

Blood Price # 6 5 stars
Choices taking or making them
Cora is still struggling with making her choice and finding out she Loves Dorian and he loves her. But is that enough. But deep down has her choice already been made? And if something or someone tries to take the decision away from her, will she realized that she has always known what she will do. Exciting, entertaining and very riveting.

A MUST READ IF YOU LIKE VAMPIRES..THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER VAMPIRES..A GREAT SERIES. READ IN ORDER,

Cora is learning more about the blood bond and it scares her knowing that Dorian can control her. She is used to doing what she wants. The blood bond did cure her cancer but it also turned her to a cognate , able to feed her bonded agnates (vampire) mate without ever needing human blood and generally there death again. Most died from trying to blood bond, but Dorian has a scientific method to make it so all agnates able to blood bond and have their own cognate. But most agnates are afraid of changing their way of life....even for a better way. Dorian holds a party to introduce Cora to all the other agnates and cognates , then tells her how important this is to him and he can't go with her. She sees a lot of (to her) weird things with the pairs. It is making her wonder and she is trying to figure out what it is she feels for Dorian. Is It Love? She also found there might be a way to break the bond and return to human. What would the cost be? Does she really want to leave Dorian? What would she have to give up? Even would the cancer come back? Next starts Cora's Bound.

We start with Cora being introduced to Vampire society as something she has yet to be fully comfortable with. Some in the society want her to be uncomfortable and go out of their way to make sure that happens. Due to these events, Cora struggles with the notion of staying in Dorian's world, seeing it as a loss of choice and fights him constantly. Dorian comes off cool, unconcerned and uncaring when he insists that she really has no choice. This set of stories focuses around the relationship between Cora and Dorian. Each struggles to keep control of the situation and find a happy medium in their relationship. Cora struggles with the reason she is important to Dorian wanting more than just the bond and political advantages she can provide. There is a well constructed storyline portraying the ups, downs, twists and turns as our characters work to iron out what needs to be done to make this relationship work for them both. Ms. Black makes an excellent argument from both viewpoints and it is easy to see and empathize with both sides.

A wonderful fast action love story Sets !!!!

I received this book as a review copy, and will try to not post any spoilers and to be as honest as I can in my review!

I have read this set about Cora now from start to this last book, I am amazed and shocked at how well written this latest set is! You are moved from one location to the next without disruption or making you go back to see if you missed something. In this authors writing you are moved to tears one min and joyous victory as the Cora beats the odds and struggles to find out what she is about.

The bond is amazing in its vastness of power, need, want and love. Cora struggles to figure out if she really loves the vamp or does she want the freedom of being human again. Now, not to post any spoilers but the way that choice is made is a bit of a shocker as you feel like its happening to you as you read it.

You will love the ending but is it the ending or just the beginning of Cora's journey with her vamp? Come purchase the whole set and find out for yourself!

Cora's Choice Vampire Series Bundle 4-6 FANTASTIC!!!!

I fell in LOVE with the first 3 books of this Series, so it was no surprise to me that the last 3 books would be any different....I absolutely LOVE the storyline, Cora, her BFF Lisette and even Dorian. I don't like to give away any spoilers because not only do I want people to read the books for themselves but I also want the author to benefit by these books being purchased. I have the utmost respect for ALL authors that can write a book that keeps the reader SO memorized by the story that they can't put it down. I admire an author even more when they're able to create a Series like this one by V. M. Black that allows the reader the excitement in knowing that there is more books to come. I'm an avid reader and I definitely prefer to read about Vampires, Werewolves and anything Paranormal and I can honestly say that this is a GREAT Series and one that you will NOT be disappointed in reading!!! I can't wait to start the next book in this Series, Cora's Bond.

Cora's Choice bundle basically contains the last few stories in this specific series. It starts out with Cora wanting to leave Dorian, but not really wanting to, because she cares for him. Cora's scared and confused which kinda taints her decisions when it comes to her new life and all that it entails. All three of these stories basically follow Cora's struggle with whether or not she will stay and live her life with Dorian or try to go back to her old one. If she stays with the man she's quickly starting to fall in love with she may just lose everything, but going back to what she was before doesn't sound like such an appealing offer anymore. I liked the stories overall, I thought they were cute quick reads definitely aimed for adults. I really like the bundles because I don't have to wait for each story as it's released.

I received this in exchange for an honest review via the author.

I just finishing reading Rites of Blood: Cora's Choice, Books 4-6 and all I can say is this series is freaking AWESOME! In less than 4 days I've read the whole Cora's Choice Vampire Series (Books 1-6) and the only problem I had with reading this series it that I stayed up way to late reading.

Each book in this series has an excellent story-line that in intriguing and keeps you interested. Dorian and Cora have chemistry that leaps off the page. Their physical attraction is white hot, their desire for each other an unstoppable force of nature.

The whole Cora's Choice series and twists and turns and keeps you guessing right up to the end. V.M. Black had me on an emotional roller coaster and on edge till the very end. Each story in this series are pain and pleasure, lust and passion. These stories will suck you in and keep you interested, wanting more.

OMG, I just could not put this series down, if you like vampires you'll love the refreshing take on their race, Agnates and cognates ( vampires and mates) the battle between those that see humans as cattle to feed from and take pleasure in, no matter the cost to human life and those who want to respect human life and not kill unnecessarily. Dorian's research proves this can be done when Cora survives his bite and their bond is formed.
The bonus of the bundle was not having to wait for the next book.
VM Black is an awesome writer, I was so caught up with Cora's emotional struggle to come to terms with the changes in her life and her growing feelings for her falling Angel, rising Demon , vampire Dorian that I felt every doubt and insecurity and pleasure like it was mine, As for Dorian ......... hot hot hot, where can I find me one of those Agnates ?

Cora Shaw's life was saved, her cancer cured. The price? Being blood-bonded to billionaire vampire Dorian Thorne. She sees others blood-bonded and she is terrified of what she sees. The vampires can totally control their bonded half. Dorian has used his power on her a few times and she hated it and him. Cora wants to be separated from Dorian any way possible. She escapes him and ends up in worse trouble. Two warring factions of vampires are against the work that Dorian is doing. Dorian is very high handed and orders her here and there "for her own good." She doesn't like it. When Dorian offers her marriage to prove he truly loves her and values her for herself and not just the blood bond. Can she live with him, be married to him, knowing it won't help the vampire war. In fact it will make things much worse. More choices for her to make and college starts in 20 days.

I like this series, but the 4th book was hard for me to get through. I was pretty frustrated with the heroines attitude. I understand her point of view to an extent, I wouldn't want to lose 'myself' either. But maybe talk to a few other mates before you just go jumping to all sorts of conclusions. Any dummy could see all the political manipulations that were swirling around you, so I would be assuming that strangers who walk to me and tell me things out of the blue have an agenda. But I did love Dorian. He had a strong character, and he wasn't too alpha or too easy on the heroine either.

I liked the writers style (had a slight historical or gothic feel) and will probably try the shifter books at some point too.

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author V.M. Black. This is books 4-6 from the Cora's Choice series by the author.

Now that Cora and Dorian are together there still is the outside threat to Cora's life and Dorian will do whatever it takes to keep Cora safe.Cora just wants to be a normal gal with going to college and hanging out with her friends but when her life changes she knows it is not going to happen.

The characters of Cora and Dorian is such a love story and their interaction is great. The author wrote another smooth flowing story line in this book.

This is for any paranormal romance book lover. This book series starts where the first book bundle series leaves off so it is best to read the books in order.

This is such a great story.

After being introduced to Dorian's fellow agnates, Cora is more determined to have her own life. She is told by one of the opposing faction of vampires that it is possible to break the bond that has her tied to Dorian. But she finds herself questioning whether that is really what she wants, are her feelings hers or is Dorian compelling these feelings.

After she is nearly raped by a man she has feelings for nearly rapes her because he was under thrall to one of Dorian's enemies she realizes that she has real feelings for him.

This is a must read series. I hope this review compels you to read these books!

If you've read books 1-3, go ahead and buy this bundle. Books 4-6 are soooooo good. This series has been a great read. Each book gets better. Although I enjoyed the first few books, it's the last few where Cora starts shining as a character. I liked her more and more with each book. Dorian always had my attention, though [fans self due to holy hotness].

If you like hot and debonair vampires, stubborn main characters who finally come to their senses, a little bit of action, and a lot of steam...click the buy button.

Happy Reading, y'all!!!

Cora is one lucky lady. I think she is starting to figure that out, and at the same time is at war with who she wants to be, or what she thinks she needs to be, and the love that is growing between her and Dorian that she hasn't come to terms with yet. This read is melt your panties off hot. The Vampire politics that you get to see more of in this installment is awesome. The page turning action keeps you reading. I didn't want to put the book down. If you are a vampire junkie like me, this is a true MUST READ.

Mesmerizing and thought provoking this series keeps you on the edge of your seat. In this bundle, I had mixed emotions about Cora. There were times that I felt sorry for her, or times I wanted to strangle her, but in the end; well she finally starts to make some smart decisions. The intense feelings between Cora and Dorian are amazing. This story pulls you in and keeps you there. Once I started reading this set I had a hard time putting it down and finished it in just over a day. Ms. Black is definitely on my list of favorite authors and I will always pick up anything she writes.

Cora and Dorian seem to be going back and forth in their newfound roles together of keeping one’s self or being changed into a totally different person. Cora struggles internally with these choices continually, even after someone tries to persuade her into changing sides. It's funny how it always takes tragedy or a traumatic event for people to see the light in situations and this bond is no different. I can’t wait to see what happens next to these two.

This is a very different and unique world that I couldnt help but be very intrigued by. I enjoyed these books that had awesome characters and story plot. I found the last book at more sex than story even though it was quite hot. Following Coras battle with her old and new life was really intense and I could feel her pain and conflict. Really like how things ended and very much want to read more...

Pretty good

Again I liked Dairon's character, strong, loving and quiet. Now Cora is a spoiled brat, whoa is me, he is a monster I could never be with him. It just seems like the same ol' drama. However, I still enjoyed the series. Yet, I thought it was overpriced. In addition, I was disappointed to find the story did not end at the conclusion, and there was another book series about the same characters.

I have to say this read was very intense I still feel like Cora is still ungrateful and selfish but I also appreciate the fact that she finally came into her own and realize that everything is not how one intend it to be and that things can change in an instant I really enjoyed these books can't get enough of Dorian and Cora can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
