In this second serial in the series, Vi and Rhys are at a bit of an impasse. She has violated his trust and he is determined to punish her. Despite the rift, they cannot deny their attraction and continue to meet for their sexual rendezvous.
This serial also shows Vi move forward with her life, leaving her cheating husband behind for good. Returning to work, she reclaims the independence that she had given up while married. It was great to see her take back control of her life again.
When Vi is attacked by burglars in her home, Rhys comes to realize what he stands to lose. The two grow close again and seem to be moving forward in their relationship. Then, just when you think things will be smooth sailing for these two, everything heads south again.
It ends up that Vi wasn't the only one with a secret. Rhys had been keeping a secret of his own. Again, everything is up in the air with these two.
For quick reads, this series continues to be a great choice. Each serial can be read in a single sitting. They pack plenty of drama and angst, not to mention the scorching hot sex! Since all of these serials have been released, I will be reading them straight through, without the wait. It's on to book 3 for me...

5 HOT stars!
If you read the first volume of Sexual Awakenings, you know that it was a super steamy novella. If you thought book one was hot, the second installment took the heat to a whole different level.
Rhys is a dirty man with a filthy mouth and Violet is still looking to explore different things when it comes to her sexual experiences. Rhys is more than happy to help her with that.
The first half of the novella seemed like sex overload. Quite honestly, I was little nervous about that. As much as I love the sex, it was the combination of sex and story that really drew me in while reading the first one. I was so happy that towards the middle/end the story really picked up. Something big happened that really shook up both main characters. Then the bomb was dropped, secrets were revealed, trust was broken. It leaves you wondering what will happen between these two...
Sexual Awakenings: The Tango was another fantastic installment in this series. It was sexy, erotic, intense and emotional at times. The writing was fast paced and it left you with just enough of a cliffy that you’re dying for the next, but not so much that the wait is torturous! I’m so happy volume 3 will be out sooner rather than later!

The way he kissed me, the way he smiled at me while he faced me on the pillow, his dark hair a mess and adoration in his eyes, for me. Rhys made me feel beautiful, cared about, wanted. I craved that side of him. I'd ruined a good thing with Rhys.
OMG, I absolutely am LOVING this series so far.
This second book was just as good, if not better than the first one!
I can't tell you how freaking happy I am that I started this series!!
Violet hasn't seen Rhys since that night he showed up in her house. Rhys thinks Violet betrayed him. She told him that she was divorcing her husband but never mentioned that they were still living together. Rhys has obviously been deceived by a woman before and doesn't tolerate lies anymore. Violet is getting her life back on track. She's kicked out her husband, filed for divorce, and is working on her career. Not a day goes by that Rhys isn't in her thoughts.
When they first started their affair, he would text her a destination to meet him at with a code word GREEN, which meant the sex would be good but not anything she couldn't handle. About three weeks later, she finally gets a text from Rhys to meet him in a seedy bar, and the code word is RED!!!. Obviously Rhys is still upset with her and the sex is about to get rough & kinky!! HOLY CRAP!! Ladies, again, expect to have your panties melting!!
Rhys shows Violet his cold and dominant side. He's a little scary and at the same time, so DAMN SEXY!! This version of Rhys, pushes her sexual limits and holds nothing back. He is not the sweet and giving lover anymore, but he definitely has crazy sexual skills!! I felt like I needed to cool off after reading some of these scenes.
What I can say about this one is, expect the unexpected.
Two things happen that I didn't see coming. I'm quite impressed with this author. You think you can kind of expect what's coming next and then she throws a curve ball at you.
What's revealed at the end just makes Rhys even more swoon worthy. I melted for him!! I am so enjoying this series and at this point I am highly recommending it!!

5 Holy mother of… Stars
This is the second book in the Sexual Awakenings Series and I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this one. I knew Rhys isn’t a man to be fucked with, so I had high hopes for the punishments he would dish out. Ladies and gentlemen, I was not disappointed.
Tango picks up where Waltz left off. Rhys knows Vi deceived him, and he is taking that lightly. Rhys wants Vi, he is crazy attracted to her and even saw a real future with her. No matter how much he may want to, he isn’t going to forget about what happened or easily trust her again. Violet has been receiving the silent treatment, so when she receives a text Barracks: RED, despite her fear she jumps at the chance to be with Rhys.
This installment begins with Rhys punishing Vi for her deception, and we see that despite everything he still wants her. In the Tango Rhys was sweet and compassionate, this Rhys is down right dirty and hardcore. I will just say that I am loving all sides of Rhys.
While reading this I was getting worried. I thought this series has taken a turn to Smutsville, and while I love Smutsville I had such high hopes for this series being more, and I wasn’t disappointed. This installment is fan yourself hot, while still having so much story and heart. I won’t go into any spoilers for anyone, I will just give you some facts.
Again I read this in a matter of minutes, I was quickly turning the page just waiting to see what would happen next. Then the ending, I have no idea where Ms. Chase is taking us, but I am 100% on board and can’t wait to see what happens next. If you were confused about why Rhys reacted the way he did in Tango in this installment you will see why. I complete understand his reason for needed to be able to completely trust someone. If you haven’t started this series I highly recommend jumping in! My only complaint…Angelica, I need more…ASAP!!!

4.5 "Bring it, baby" stars
Weeks have passed in silence. Vi knows she's messed up and doesn't know what to do with Rhys silence. She knows he's pissed and wants the chance to explain, but for Rhys it's hard to see through the jealousy and anger. She's willing to take his anger and her punishment and even willing to face the new aspect of their agreement, it's what she wanted after all, isn't it?
Rhys and Violet are both struggling with all these emotions running through them, it is all new, both unsure how to navigate through it all. Based on their past, they are quick to go on the defensive and rather hurt the other before they get a chance to get hurt themselves. They are the same in temperament and surprise each other along the way, it wasn't supposed to be this complicated, but it never was easy from the beginning either, the lines have long since blurred.
The more they fight, the more their need grows and as each day, week and month pass by they realize what each other mean to them, taking them to the next step. They just have to get passed all of the things they kept from each other...
Tango is the second book in this four part erotic serial, and oh how this has sucked me in, can I pin point exactly what it is about Rhys & Vi's story, no, because it is everything! Their sexual interactions, their text messages, their struggle with their emotions. Even with this being told in Violet's POV, you can sense the turmoil within Rhys. Wish we could get his POV, because it would be a real treat to get the inner workings of this man, especially behind all the "Red" interactions. The little twists and turns along the way, just added to it all. Just when things were getting good something sets them back and makes them stronger. Vi's mom is a treat, she is the guiding hand that a mother should be, but is sassy and loving just like her daughter. And the addition of another character just made me melt even more for our Hero.
Another great addition to this wonderful serial read.

Violet knows Rhys is angry because she lied to him and she also knows she hurt him with her lies. She is thinking Rhys is done with her, until weeks later Rhys contacts her. She knows the location and the time and the fact things changed between them with a single word – RED.
Rhys is changed. He’s angry, hard on Violet, but he’s hotter than ever.
Violet has to remind herself that everything between her and Rhys was supposed to be an adventure, not the beginning of a new life together. She wanted a real relationship with him, but she ruined everything and she has to pay the consequences. If before it was more, now the only thing they could have is only sex.
Violet is not the only one who have secrets. Rhys has been keeping something important from Violet, something that will change their relationship.
This installment like the previous one was sexy and easy to read. The story here was more interesting and the sex hotter. Both Violet and Rhys are likeable, especially Rhys, of course. Gutted, smashed and picking up the pieces...
The first half of The Tango - Oooh ouch....too much. I'm cringing with the extreme anger and violence...but a little bit turned on too.
The middle - The claws are out. It's time for a bit of payback.
The end - Why-O-Why? I'm a wee bit devastated that buying a plant and bath salts could end so badly.
The gutted, smashed and picking up the pieces is me. I feel a little sorry for V, but what about me? I'm not supposed to be so invested in a story that started with cheating. I don't read cheating stories. I don't like cheating stories. What have I done? The next thing you know I'll have a Goodreads shelf called - Cheating Stories That Rock. What is the world coming to? Onwards...

The Tango is about trust and although there are elements that are not 100% to my taste, I’m trusting that this author will carry the story along to an enjoyable climax…. There's still more to discover…. I have thoughts about the husband….
My trust paid off because just past the middle of this volume I got my OMG moment…. And in the blink of an eye this story became more interesting. Before this point its sex, sex and a little more sex.... Which, let me express to you, is rather lovely but I'm so glad the story element starts to develop a little too.
The story continues with Violet becoming ever more familiar with Rhys’ alter ego… His powerful, dominant, darker side but if I'm honest I wasn’t totally sold on this aspect of him...… I would've loved to see more of an extreme in Rhys' character.
I liked the way Violet stands up for herself, despite her failed marriage… she has an inner confidence and gumption to speak out and achieve what she wants.
The Tango is highly erotic. The main hero and heroine, as I've already indicated, spend the majority of their time together on the page in some kind of sexual context expressing their carnal pleasure.
Rhys, despite my misgivings about his dominance, is the best part of this story for me and I'll happily continue on my Sexual Awakenings journey to discover more about him.

Overall, I found The Tango to be even more sexually charged than The Waltz. Rhys' passion for making Vi pay turns into a desire deep in his soul to keep her for something more. Wow, this series gets better and better. The Tango is a fitting name for this little number.
While the first book was beyond HOT with scorching chemistry and sex, this one went deeper by adding a layer of sexual dominance, emotional entanglements, danger and heartbreak.
With Vi’s dishonesty, Rhys ups the ante on their sexual play from Green to Red.
“There was a light and dark side to Rhys, and it seemed my villainous lie had released the dark.”
Vi asked for a sexual awakening and that’s exactly what he gives her. Rhys dominates her and pushes her body to limits she never knew existed while also claiming a part of her heart and soul.

Violet didn’t mean to lie... but now she has to face the consequences of her actions. Take her punishment. I really did enjoy reading this book, it was one of those books that you didn't want to put down.

Rhys appears to have morphed into the a-hole he predicted he would, since Vi told a little, teeny, weeny lie.
Vi isn’t entirely happy it all appears to be very business like, and now Rhys is introducing her to the pain and punishment elements of this new world she is exploring.
His commanding texts, are welcomed, if a little infrequent, but she’ll take her punishment like a good little sub…until the totally unexpected happens. The game changer..
That on its own would be difficult enough, without this little added secret.

5 RED Stars...is it bad that I liked this one even more because he was such a dick? I'm warped...these little short reads that in a span of an hour can grab you and make you swoon, change your panties, fall in love and wanna throw your kindle? Yeah...I love em too! This one does enough with the background and development that you feel for them, pull for them and wanna be the third in the menage! Loved it and have already sent the email BEGGING for 3 and 4!! I continued with The Tango after not particularly loving book one in the series. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me so I'm not continuing on with the series. I don't feel a connection with the characters, things are happening swiftly that I wish were played out more. The characters are back and forth portraying different personality types. A lot of my book friends adored these books so I'm definitely in the minority, they just weren't books for me.

5 stars!!!! This is one HOT, sizzling, bomb dropping read!
The Tango resumes right where The Waltz left us. Red. A message that was sent to Vi that instantly terrifies and excites her. She made a mistake telling a white lie and in return must face the consequences, and those consequences are a darker, more intense, holds no prisoners Rhys.
In The Waltz we get to see Rhys softer side, but in The Tango, his inner beast finally comes to the surface and for Vi, this turns her on more then she thought it would or should. She loves both sides of Rhys, but desperately wants to know more about this interesting, sexy as all hell man that leaves her a withering mess of hormones and emotions.
As their relationship continues, everything seems to be going smoothly, but looking back this is definitely the calm before the storm. One night things take a huge turn for the worst as Vi finds herself face to face with a terrifying and life altering situation, and it's Rhys who is there by her side every step of the way. Things start simmering down after this disastrous incident and then BOOM, a huge bomb gets dropped. One that not only shocks Vi, but leaves her so confused and hurt.
This turn of events leaves Vi questioning Rhys and all that she thought she knew, (which apparently wasn't much) and is afraid the man she thought she knew and is developing dangerously strong feelings for, isn't that man at all. Lines get blurred and it's up to Vi to decide if Rhys is the man she wants to be with, baggage and all, or if it's time for her to spread her wings and fly on her own.
I really loved The Tango, like really really really REALLY loved it. During this book there was so much page turning goodness and never a dull moment to sit and actually absorb it all (until the end,of course) and I loved every single word of it. I also experienced another side of Rhys, one that's not so delicate and caring, and it was HOT. The sex was raunchy, and definitely a welcomed change up from the tender, affectionate Rhys I became accustomed to in book one.
As far as actual story line goes, a LOT of shit goes on throughout The Tango. I was smacked upside my head with one situation, then barely got through it and got smacked upside my head again with another shell shocker. One that I honestly didn't see coming. Not a bad shocker in any way, but one that does make Liv question Rhys intentions with her and where this relationship is going.
Liv and Rhys were unbelievable as well. I really love Liv's character as she's not this poor helpless stuffy female who can't figure out what 2 + 2 is. Yea, she and her husband (soon to be ex) Alex are separated and with that comes learning who she actually is and what she wants. But at the same token, she's grounded enough and intelligent enough to know that she wants to find out who she is and what she wants.
As far as Rhys (new book BF) God, he is one of sexual, erotic, panty dropping hot chunk of male. I loved learning more about him in this book and experiencing first hand the strong feelings he is developing for Vi. I'm a sucker for that shit, I can't help it. And believe me, he does prove himself, at least enough for my satisfaction.

Chatty, Chatty.
I mean, Vi, darling....Sometimes the best weapon is to stay silent and act stupid. Sigh.
Again, I enjoyed this read. I like the air of mystery and I find myself really reading because I was more intrigued with who Rhys was and what he was hiding, because I knew he was hiding something.
Close to the ending really spiced up and I was so into it, afraid for Vi and then thanking the author for putting in that air of fright. But then the lady tending to her talking about how Rhys feels and don't worry and that shit just pissed me off.
What really irked me was that even though something may be known or you'd find yourself wondering the possibility, that shit would always be squashed. The author tends to write out the theories through the thoughts of Violet.
So although Rhys was mysterious (or could have been) it was taken away because his heated gaze would be interpreted by Vi as being filled with emotions. Or he's all angry and dominant and where I'd like to be biting my nails and wishing to get into his head, Vi is saying she sees his hurt and the flicker of emotions that means he want more but is hurting. Gah

I'm just glad I didn't read this when it first came out, the wait between books would have driven me mad.
Violet is human, she made a mistake but she's done everything she could to put it right, Rhys has been hard on her and I want to say too hard but we don't know his story I suspect there's something in his past that he's reacting to, only time and hopefully the next book will tell.
Again this book is hot and again it's so much more than that, I just can't read these fast enough and then I'm annoyed because it's over so quickly, bring on the next one....
