I listened to the audiobook on Spotify, read by the author. If you're new to this kind of topics - self-help, personal growth and improvement - you'll probably like it, since it's very straight to the point and motivational. I've read (and listened) to quiet a few of these type of books, including the classics she mentions, so for me this was nothing but a compilation of the best rules - or strategies as the title says - mixed with some examples of girls she knows. Overall it's light and easy to digest, a good summary of the essentials if you want a quick recap and boost, but nothing new if you want something more deep in information
I enjoyed this book - a quick book (~100 pages) of quick tips for getting out of your own head and your own way! This is the second book I've read by Cara and I really enjoy her blog, Instagram and Podcasts - she's always full of inspiration and positivity.
I don't think there's anything revolutionary in here but good reminders and it's like getting advice from a friend. Some key takeaways for me were around not letting the past define you, not getting bogged down in worrying about what the outcome will be...and have faith that it will work out exactly as it should and how you can spend your energy being excited or being afraid...so why choose fear?
I like how there are exercises in the book where you write down your goals, fears, hangups, etc. I find it really helpful to write it down - committing to things by putting it on paper (or actually admitting it). These tactics work for me and I like the accountability. And I loved the overarching message - "you are primed for greatness"! YES!!!!
A simple, short read...much the same as other self-help books
This was a quick read with some simple uplifting mindfulness techniques and some feel good real life stories. As an avid reader of self-help books, nothing really stood out in this book as an a-ha idea or an "oh, I never thought of it that way" statement. An okay read, and like I said, it was quick.
کتاب کوتاهی بود. به زبان ساده ای نوشته شده بود و ترجمه ی خوبی هم داشت. نکاتی که توش گفته شده بود اگه با خودمون صادق باشیم جدای از جنسیت فکر میکنم نکاتی که توش بود برای افراد مختلف صدق میکنه. ترس ها، نتیجه گرا بودن، بیرون نیمدن از منطقه امن و .... اما توی دخترها این نوع موارد کمی بیشتره یا ما خودمون بیشتر بهش بها میدیم و مطرحش میکنیم. اگه واقعا به مانیفست هاش توجه کنیم و مراقبه ای که گفته را هرچند کوتاه در روز داشته باشیم مطمئنا میتونیم شاهد اتفاقات جدیدی توی زندگی باشیم. باید مطمئن باشیم چی میخوایم و بدون ترس بریم سمتش!!!! زندگی را یه حادثه جویی در نظر بگیر و نترس!
Easy, breezy! Very inspirational especially for me since I am always thinking and moving and going on new ideas soooo this was a must read!! Very enjoyable and helped me know to sit down and take a moment to meditate when I am on 100 lol! Also, stop fearing! Wish it was longer but oh well!
A quick read, useful if you're struggling to get past the negative voices in your head. A little bit fluffy compared to most personal development books, but I think that's the brand of this one really.
Way too pink and fluffy for my liking. I can conquer the world without having to have perfectly pedicured feet thanks. Also, I don't think anyone in 2014 thinks of hippies and incense when they hear the word meditation. Maybe 10 years ago but not now. I don't mind the general principal of this book and I don't think it helped the author that I'd just finished Grapes of Wrath but I just couldn't wait to get to the end. I feel the main points of this book could have been summed up in one pretty good blog post. Feel a bit miffed that I forked out £8 for it.
I think this is great if you are a single mom who just got out of a bad relationship or is thinking about getting divorced since that’s mostly what the beginning of the book is about. If you were also somebody who is afraid of flying then it might be helpful to hear that she is too and that she used Hipnosis to get over it. And I think the manifesto statements in the last chapter are positive motivators for anyone
Unlike most empowerment books these lessons were quick. The reader won't read a long charger that basically repeats itself for twenty pages. The manifestos are quick and easy. I love her voice and herself as a character. If you're looking for a good empowerment boost without all the demands of so called experts and doctors try this.
Quick, Easy Read for those ready to get Fearless & Fabulous
I read and enjoyed Cara's 'Girlcode' before I read this - it's broken down into bite-sized sections for women who want to take control of their crazy, hectic life and find their 'fearless and fabulous' self.
An absolute joy to read, this was compact but that's only because Vara gets straight down to busy with the tools and strategies to becoming fearless and fabulous! I'll be reading this time and again to refresh it in my mind.
This is a very quick and to the point motivational read. As someone who is often stuck in fear, this book reminded me to keep moving and stay in touch with your innermost self. 10/10 recommend.
I didn't expect much from this book, but to my welcomed surprise it was really light and still useful read.
In many ways it was a reminder for things I am aiming to do in my life already. In addition I have discovered a few ideas which I will try to implement.
Good insight and simple to help define clear goals for women to strive for. Easier said than done but reading and putting to practice will help women feel empowered to fulfill their goals/dreams.
If you have heard her podcast, it’s essentially the same in a very easy compact book. Didn’t really offer anything major, but had some good lines in there.
This was a really quick read full of powerful stories and antidotes for living your best life. I will definitely pick this one up again and again just to get a refresher.
