Reading, reading – what’s more beautiful than a book? Between each cover lie many worlds to explore! Having spent her youth in an array of libraries, it is no wonder that the attic of Bealevon’s home is filled with crates full of books.

Due to the small German romance book market, fast reading Bealevon was forced to turn to the English language originals at last. This improved her English so much she worked several years for a German publisher as an English reader in between other jobs. Her first love of m/f romances burnt out after a decade of mind clouding stories in the mid-nineties, and she turned back to her hobby of reading about historical events.

Delighted by the invention and spread of the ebook, she tentatively tried some free ones. One of those happened to be an m/m romance, and she was caught, hook, line and sinker. Discovering books that were diamonds as well as coal shaped her taste. Aside from fluffy fantasy and fairy tale, she likes action and fighting in her books. And there are definitely not enough of them on the market!

For years, she dabbled in fanfiction and enhancement of existing stories for her own enjoyment, continually pulled between reading more and writing by herself. As soon as her son moved out, she grabbed the opportunity of self-publishing at last, sat down and wrote – in English… although her high school English teachers probably turn over in their graves as she was a mediocre pupil at best. She gets much needed solitude for working out the details of the chapters while walking her dog twice a day. No effort is spared to make sure her stories are logical and believable, yes, even the fairy tales...

She lives with her husband and her dog in northern Germany and loves to hear from her readers!

This book has been given to me by the author and the M/M Romance Group's Don't Buy My Love program for free in exchange for an honest review.

The story of this Cinderfella is very well developed. It's a good solid story with a few twists from the sugary sweet (not that there's anything wrong with that) fairy tale that really make it its own story with just a hint of the familiar. There is no magical element in this story.

I enjoyed both Eric and Branimir. Louis and Jaron supported the main characters very well.

Because this story is clearly in a distant time period (but without the prejudices of an older period), I felt a little disconnected when really modern language (such as gay) was used. I'd place this at more a jiggle than a jolt from the story. I don't expect "ye olde" language, but prefer to have modern language, slang, and concepts be left out of period-type stories.

I also felt that the chapter "synopses" at the beginning of each chapter were unnecessary and rather spoilery.

My only other criticism is that I feel this story needed another run through by an editor. There were some double or missing punctuation and a few missing, inserted, or incorrect words.

In the end, I definitely enjoyed this story and would be willing to read something else from this author.

A different sort of Cinderfella - no fantastical elements at all, which was nice, taking place in a gay-okay world. Eric, our Cinderfella, meets Branimir, the spare prince, during a ball where Bran is posing as his cousin Max. There's instant attraction, but the clock strikes midnight and Eric flees, leaving behind his glove instead of a shoe. What follows seems to be at least partially inspired by Ever After, my favorite Cinderella movie, but definitely does its own thing.

I could have done without all the . It was over the top and seemed to be there only to make the stepmother and stepbrothers extra evil. I couldn't figure out why Eric would stay there. Cinderella, being female, has limited options in what she can do in getting away. Cinderfella, a male, wouldn't have nearly as many barriers. Hell, Eric even has a side gig. And even though he wanted nothing at all to do with the It was all a bit weird and didn't quite work for me.

Still, it's a decent Cinderella retelling. If you're especially interested in those, this might work for you.

This book has been given to me for free in exchange for an honest review.

This book is, with afew story line changes, the MM version of Cinderella. I loved it.

The wicked stepmother in this story runs a male brothel. Now that being said this book could have turned very twisted, but the author thank goodness didn't go that way. Of course there is that twisted client that causes some havoc. Eric doesn't have a fairy godmother but a mentor who guides him and some other characters in his household that are on his side.

The Prince's family is also very likeable. Loved the brother character.

This was a very enjoyable read, with just enough emotional stuff to tug your strings. I only wish there had been an epilogue to maybe get some revenge on the stepmother and stepbrothers.

The story here is absolutely predictable, it is Cinderella with a glove instead of a shoe. The plot is sugarsweet and cheesy, you probably read it 50 times before - absolutely nothing new or spectacular to find out.
I am still a little confused why I started it and even more why I liked it??
I really have no idea and no explanation, but for me this was a fun read, loveable and sweet and absolutely perfect.
Knowing what to expect (and what not) this is a nice short story about a prince and a simple guy who fall in love without knowing who the other one is.
As I said, nothing special but still great fun and for me simple as it was definitely above average!
4 stars!

I was given Hello My Prince from the author through the Goodreads M/M Romance Group’s “Don’t Buy My Love” for an honest review. The story is told in third person through the eyes of the two main characters, Eric Lejeune, a servant/janitor, and Prince Branimir. We also see the story through a few other minor characters eyes.

What if Cinderalla was a hirsute, rough and tumble boxer?

Overall, this story parallels the fairy tale enough to be recognizable as a Cinderella story, but uses surprisingly different characters and plot developments to weave a new and interesting all-male take on the fairy tale.

I have read several gay "Cinderfella" stories before where the abused protagonist was relatively powerless in his abusive step-family, and that vulnerability was often reflected in the "Cinderfella's" physical, emotional, and social characteristics (e.g. the put-upon waif). While this story maintains the essential theme of the "Cinderfella" being unfairly used by his step-family (and cleans up the ashes from the fireplace), the protagonist is a rather hirsute and "rough and tumble" boxer.

While I very much appreciated the author's novel approach to this all-too-familiar and over-used theme, it also didn't click as quite as romantically compelling as I would have liked. Still, for those who like the fairy-tales with a nice dose of brawny, rough, and hairy men, this might be an intriguing and enjoyable take on this well-trodden tale.

3.5 stars (rounded up for the decidedly un-waif-like protagonist)

Well, I am a sucker for a Cinderella story and Bealevon Nolan did a great job with this one! All and all I would say she did a great job staying true to the fairy tale but adding a sweet m/m spin.

Hello My Prince was a quick pace which made for a quick read! The quick pace was in part to the headers at the beginning of each chapter. For me they were little spoilers for the pages ahead and they kept me wanting to see how the action would unfold.

I love how it had the instant attraction and instant lust, but there was not instant true love or jumping in bed! It was sweet to see Eric and "Bran's" fairy tale unfold!

Eric was the "cinderfella" and at times his pitiful life seemed a bit much, as if the author was trying too hard to show how bad he had it. He had a heart of gold though and I was genuinely glad to see his happy ever after!

My favorite side character was Louis, who played the role of the fairy godmother and he didn't need a magic wand! Although "Bran's" family was quite funny too!

My Summary: This was a quick enjoyable m/m read and definitely worth the $0.99 on Amazon! Since I am such a sucker for a Cinderella story I am rounding up from 3.5 to 4 stars!

A sweet, enjoyable story with a genuine fairy tale feel...

The first chapter of the book acts as a prologue of sorts. Eric, whose parents are dead, now lives with his step-mother and his two step-brothers in what used to be his father's home. His step-mother turned his family home into a brothel, selling his family trinkets and giving her sons all they could desire, while Eric is forced to live in a closet of sorts. Yet that is not all the woman has planned for her step-son... indeed she plans to sell him to the customers-- which he fights and claws his way out of and then ends up without even a closet as he is then forced to sleep in the kitchen., Eric's heart is once again broken as he realizes he will never have the kind of family he so desperately wants.

Fast forward six years... enter Prince Branimir, second son to the king. And well, I'll let you read the rest for yourself... This is a Cinderfella story. Overall, it was well written and engaging. It is told in the same style as many fairy tales are - though with a bit more "steam" than the Grimm Brothers ever used. Not overly erotic, however. Don't go into this book expecting it to burn up your kindle. It is more subtle with its intimacies... though I don't think it suffers for it.

The MCs are both likeable and in some ways tragic. Neither is picture perfect or overly handsome. The concerns each has are real... or as real as they can be in this imagined world. There were, however, a few moments I doubted some of the actions that happened... one being that of the step-mother... I found her acquiescence to Eric's declaration of not being used as a rentboy easily taken. And there was the matter of Eric's skin being overly sensitive that I think could have been used better, as it seemed just as excuse for him to always wear gloves.

It was sweet though. I am interested to see what else this author has to offer.

This book has been given to me by the author and the M/M Romance Group's Don't Buy My Love program for free in exchange for an honest review.

This was a short and compact story, with just the right amount of detail for the plotline used. The book is a quick love story between Prince Branimir and a man called Eric, with elements of Cinderella, and even a bit of regency swashbuckler.

Prince Branimir has acknowledged that he is gay, and is gladly surprised that the news is received well in his family. So well, that a ball is organised to find him the right person who will love him for more than his title. Eric, the other protagonist is the Cinderfella. He's been wronged by his stepmother but unlike the usual Cinders character, is not completely cowed down by her. He refuses to join her brothel so is put to work around the house instead. He's also a prize fighter, with very sensitive skin.

The prince, posing as a librarian, and Eric meet, fall in love but true love is never smooth and both have to sort out some other things before they can sort things out.

I would have liked this book a lot better if it had brought out to a greater extent some elements that the blurb talks about which I think were critical to the plot differentiating it from any other regular love story. The prince and Eric are very different in background and upbringing and physical frame as well. Eric despite being a prizefighter has a sense of worthlessness. I wish we'd understand more of his thoughts about that. I wish we'd gotten to know more as well about how the two men think of each other apart from just being people who fell in love immediately. What did they like about each other. There was a lot happening which was good but it waylaid the emotions and feelings.

But all in all, it's still a well-told story.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review through the DBML Program.

This story is a new take on a Cinderella/Cinderfella story with a few twists.

Branimir also known as Max is the not quite charming Prince. He's a bit shy and not quite confident in his abilities. He's the second son in the family, so there isn't an expectation that he'll marry to provide an heir as his brother Jaron has already done that in spades. Branimir just wants to meet a nice guy and fall in love.

Eric is our Cinderfella. His story is much the same as the original Cinderella tale except that after his father dies, his wicked step-mother opens an all-male brothel in the family home. She attempts to force Eric into being a rent-boy, but he resists and ends up as the janitor and eventually bouncer (AKA chucker) of the brothel.

After Branimir finally comes out to his parents and bother, they plan an elaborate ball to help him meet the man of his dreams. Eric isn't invited, but his step-mother and step-brothers all attend. Eric is able to gain entrance to the palace grounds by being the carriage driver for his family. He doesn't actually attend the ball as he's busy searching for clues to his grandmother's life in the castle. While in the gallery, he meets Branimir who introduces himself as Max.

The story diverges from the original Cinderella tale at this point and takes on new twists. It's not a total insta-love story either. There is insta-lust, but each man has to deal with his own issues and insecurities before they can come together for their happy ever after.

The story isn't completely accurate in a historical aspect due to words and phrasing used as well as an easy acceptance for same sex couples. I would term it alternate world instead because of those fact, however, that doesn't detract from the story. I like the story because it was a fun read.

I received my copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review through the "Don't Buy My Love" event hosted by the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads.

Main Characters: Eric's step-mother turned his home into a brothel, where his step-brothers are the star attractions. But Eric refuses to work as another of her boys, and instead becomes an indentured servant. Branimir is the younger prince and wants a relationship with someone who wants him, not his title as Prince, so he switches places with his cousin for the ball his family is throwing to find him a consort. When Branimir meets Eric at the ball, he hides his title (and his name) in a desire to see if the attraction with Eric has a chance of turning into a real relationship. Both Eric and Branimir are so sweet, they make such a cute match.

Side Characters: I liked how accepting Branimir's family was. It was so great to see family members that clearly cared about him and not pushing him to become what they want him to be. Louis was a good friend to Eric, he sees the potential for Eric to be more than just an indentured servant.

Plot: The framework of the story might be "Cinderella", but I really enjoyed the direction the author took. The characters actually took time to get to know each other and accepted that they needed more than just that insta-lust to make a relationship work. I really wish there had been an epilogue, because I feel like there was just a bit more of the story to be told (or maybe I'm just really greedy).

Format: I loved the little synopsis at the start of each chapter. It added a little quirk to the story telling that I enjoyed.

This book has been given to me for free in exchange for an honest review.

After telling his parents and brother that he prefers men, the king and queen even organise a ball to give Branimir the chance to meet the man of his dreams. But he wants to make sure that the men he meets wants him for himself and not because he is the prince. So he introduces himself as Max, the palace bookkeeper. (that isn't a total lie because he is the bookkeeper at the palace).

He doesn't meet anyone interesting at the ball but when he steps in the hal he meets Eric, they talk and Sparks fly but when the clock strikes midnight Eric disappears. It's up to the prince to find him and see if the attraction he feels is real and if they have a future together.

Yes there are similarities to Cinderella but this book takes a different route because Eric is the stephson of a madame of an all male sexclub!! Eric doens't want to whore himself out and therefor has to do all the hard work. There isn't a fairy godmother but a real nice collegae/friend who even learns Eric to fight (later in the story this comes in very handy). There aren't stepsisters but stepbrothers and instead of a glass shoe there is a glove.

I really enjoyed reading this book it was a good read and i loved the fact that although it was a fairytale, and it was funny there also was a dark side to it (fighting, male sexclub etc. etc.) I also love the fact that the parents and brother of the prince support him. It's nice to read a coming out story where the family is immediately suportive.

If you like sweet fairytales with a bit of a twist i recommend you take a chance on this one.

This book was provided to me free for an honest review through the DBML program of the M/M Romance group.

3.5 stars rounded to 4

A very charming m/m take on the story of Cinderella and Prince Charming.

An enjoyable read that kept my interest through the whole book. Although there are no paranormal/magical elements to the story, I would call it fantasy. Even though it has a medieval type setting, man-on-man loving appears to be an accepted fact of this world.

I do like that neither of the main characters were portrayed as weak or effeminate. They are both strong men with minds of their own. Bran had served in the army for a while and Eric is a 'chucker'(basically a bouncer).

If you read m/m books for the explicit sex scenes with lots of anal penetration, then this book will be a big disappointment because there are none.

If you read m/m books for the love of seeing two men find their way to each other and a loving relationship, then the book is definitely one to read.

There were a few minor editing issues, mostly small words that were close but not quite right, like the time the word 'live' was used and it should have been 'life'. But overall, one of the better edited books I've read recently.
I could have done with out the headers at the beginning of each chapter though. There were a little like spoilers for the pages ahead, and looking at it now that I'm done with the book, they make me feel that the author added them as notes as to what to write for that chapter and then they didn't get removed in the editing process.

A interesting twist on Cinderella.

Eric lives in a whorehouse. His stepmother turned his former home into a brothel after the death of Eric's father. He is treated horribly by his stepmother and her sons, whom are the top selling whores at the brothel.

Branimir the younger prince in his family. He's past the age for settling down and his family believes its time for him to settle down. Seeing no way but to confess his sexual orientation to dash his parents hopes he lets the cat out of the bag. His family are more accepting than he believed they would be. His brother and mother decide to throw a ball so he can find his own special someone.

I won't go into too much detail but Eric and Branimir do meet, Branimir gives him a false name to hide his real identity and the attraction between the two does grow. It was a unique spin on such an old favorite classic. I loved where the author changed up the tale with no magic and added in the use of gloves instead of shoes and Louis. The story was cute with some rough (sort of exciting) edges (i.e. ). Both Eric and Branimir were likeable and the story sweet and exciting with a touch of angst.

This is a beautiful fairy tale with princes, hidden identities, evil stepmothers, and an old woman living in the woods. Prince Branimir wants to find a partner, but he wants for be loved for who he is not his title, so he pretends to be a bookkeeper (he is, but he’s also a prince). Eric, the stepson of a brothel madam, thinks a bookkeeper is way out of his league—imagine what he thinks about a prince. I’m not normally a fairy tale reader, it happens every now and then, but it’s not what I usually pick. That didn’t stop me from getting caught in this lovely tale, though.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For the first few chapters I found this book very difficult to read, as the grammar and writing style were both poor, however something changed after a few chapters and the rest of the book was an easy enjoyable read.

The story is a twist on the Cinderella tale, which is cute, though nothing new. The characters are endearing, though they need to be fleshed out a bit more to give substance to the story.

Overall a short enjoyable read.

I am a huge fan of retellings and this one was so much fun! The twists to the tale were interesting, the contrast of the prince and Eric were wonderful.

Also the setting and the stepmother, his stepbrothers were awful. I do wish would have seen them get what they deserved, but they just got away with it. The other villians end was great though.

Eric and the prince's first meeting is wonderful, the mystery and the longing between them. Those gloves and sensitivity were interesting idea, very fitting he loses one and that helps with the search.

I didn't like how portrayed the brothel though as seemed to look down upon those working there, which is just not ok as many of them obviously enjoyed the job and income. So i wasn't keen on how seen as not worth the same as others for their choices.

The arrow and glove symbol was such a sweet concept, these two were just lovely together and the ending is rather sweet. I loved the link to title.

Overall an enjoyable story with a bunch of entertaining twists, while keeping a happily ever after that i adore 💕

This is a lovely, if slightly twisted, take on Cinderella. In this story, there is an evil stepmother who runs a brothel and two stepbrothers that are way too close in a completely creepy way. Eric has been trying to please his stepmother and stepbrothers his whole life right up until the time they try to sell him to the highest bidder. When he fights being sold he is told he can stay and be the servant who lights the fires and mucks out the stalls.

Prince Branimir finally comes out to his family and discovers that they have his full support and through him a ball to help him find his love. Now his biggest fear is that none of these men will like him for himself so imagine his happy surprise when he meets Eric, who has no idea who he is, and they hit it off. Now, as this particular fairy tale goes, midnight has come and Eric has gone. We don't have a shoe to match to a foot, but Branimir is determined to find his guy and give this story its fairy tale ending.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Overall I give it a solid 3 stars.

I downloaded this for a vacation read and managed to read it all during my East to West Coast plane trek.

As a Cinderfella story…it immediately grabbed my attention. I’m a sucker for handsome princes :-)

Prince Branimir managed to come off as a pretty stable MC…even if his whining about being a celebrity prince did get a little annoying from time to time. I appreciated the idea of him being a soldier who had basically retired to be an accountant. I found his relationship and banter with family members to be hilarious and relatable. His coming out scene particularly :-) I was drawn to his willingness to do anything/everything for love, including holding on to his pride.

Eric (like any good Cinderfella) has all the required hindrances: dead parents, evil stepmother, and horrible stepbrothers. I was little disappointed at the authors decision to make the stepmother the owner of a brothel. I felt it sort of detracted away from the main story line…especially since Eric isn’t a sex worker and the storyline never goes anywhere other than to potentially titillate the reader. As written, Eric manages to come off as innocent and yet tried. This is important because he takes a pretty aggressive sexual leap later in the story. Speaking of Eric’s occupation, he’s a boxer and apparently a pretty good one….definitely a little rough around the edges but a heart of gold.

The chemistry between the MCs seems genuine and the prince's pursuit was heartwarming. I couldn’t help feeling like the sexual tension in the later half of the book was a little forced. After the steamy kiss in the library and act of daring do...what damsel/gentleman in prior distress wouldn't be willing to provide sexual favors to the hero? The I can’t help feeling like true love got cheated...just a little.

The misunderstanding was average and I couldn’t help but wonder why It feels sort of loser-ish. I really wanted him to come up with a workable employment solution.

The ending of the story gave me a big awwwww….so I guess it did its job! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who like fantasy stories involving fair/muscly gentlemen who find their Prince Charming.

Happy reading!

A free copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

As stated in various reviews of this book, this is a Cinderfella story. It has twists and turns, but at the end it's a story about a guy who lives with his evil step-mom and really creepy step-brothers, and who, with some help, finds himself faced with a real life prince.

So... This wasn't what I expected. The MCs motives for their actions were not what I thought they would be. Both main characters were really the opposite of what I imagined they'd be. The hero of this story is not who I expected, and beneath years of abandonment and neglect, a man is portrayed suprisingly gently and tenderly, though I was prepared to find something rough and soiled.

My favorite thing about this book is that though it follows the lines of a quite well-known fairytale, it's still distinctive and unique. It has strong characters, a good plot, and some beautifully written scenes with just enough fun-factor for the story to stay safe from sappy-zone. It could've been easy to write a stereotypical prince with an equally stereotypical object of his affection with a bad case of damsel in distress, but the author didn't go there. Instead we were given well-fleshed characters with opinions and thoughts and feelings of their own.

Hello My Prince is a fun twist to the classic fairytale Cinderella. I’ve read takes on Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel, but never Cinderella. How happy I was to read this. The book cover gave no hints to the fairytale reprise however was appropriate once you read the story. The writing flowed with ease.

Here are a few differences between Hello My Prince and the classic story:
Cinderella is vanilla and made for children while HMP is edgy, for ages 18+, and has storyline changes
Cinderella vs Cinderfella
Evil step sisters vs evil step brothers
Lost glass slipper vs lost glove
Fairy godmother vs a fighter
Hello My Prince is a surprisingly good M/M Cinderfella fairytale with hidden identities and dubious characters thrown in. If you're into M/M reads, remakes on classic fairytales with unsavory characters give Hello My Prince a whirl.

Hello My Prince is a good M/M Cinderfella fairytale that has an interesting plot with hidden identities and dubious characters thrown in. I loved the take on the two main characters. Eric the big, hairy bear of a man with a heart of gold and Branimir our shy and a bit nerdy prince.

Very entertaining afternoon read. The only thing I did not like was the chapter descriptions at the beginning of each chapter. This was like spoilers to the story and I would have enjoyed the overall story more without them.
In my opinion, if you like M/M reads and enjoy remakes on classic fairytales then you should definately give Hello My Prince a try.

I given this story for an honest review

"Hello My Prince" is a interesting read with many new twists on the original Cinderella. It was a pleasant surprise to see it wasn't about two drop-dead gorgeous people falling in love like most fairy tales. The author did a good job with the chemistry between the Eric and Branimir, and the two are very well-developed characters. There are several grammar mistakes and misused words, but they aren't frequent enough to effect the story significantly.

Overall, the story was fun to read and one of the most enjoyable retellings of Cinderella I've read.

Hm, a gentle bear as Cinderella, a prince more an average Joe than a knight in shining armor, the stepmother as a madame ... makes an interessing setup for another fairytale version but unfortunately the certain fairytale tone is missing completely, feels more like it pretends to be a fairytale because it doesn't know what it is instead. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Megan Derr's versions of Cinderella or Marie Sexton's wonderful Cinder: A CinderFella Story but it is as it is: Hello My Prince left me disappointed.

1.75 stars. The editor/proofreader did NOT do their job. Or maybe the author didn't listen to their advice. The number of words that were almost right is amazing -- I feel like this could have been written by Maxwell Smart (Missed it by that much, Chief). The story isn't bad. There are too many words that don't fit the fantasy/historical setting, which jarred me out of the story headspace each time.

I love the cover and the title of this book, especially so after reading the story and finding out their significance. This is a Cinderfella story; so, suspend your disbelief while reading this engaging fairytale. There are plot holes but remember, fairytale. You think that you know where the story is going and you do but there are also unexpected plot turns which make for a pleasant reading diversion.
