Eau d'Amore by Syaznixon
Everytime Alies smells Attar's musky perfume, something goes wrong.
"𝑰𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒎𝒆 𝒐𝒇... 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒆. 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒌 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒆." -Allies
Alies has never been in love. Attar has...more than once. She tells herself she won't fall for her boss. Never. Yet his presence pulls her in, subtle and intoxicating just like his scene.
"𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆, 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒌𝒚 𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒖𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒎𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝑰 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒆." -Attar

This is the second book that I've read from this author. An expected, I really loves her writing in this book as well. It's beautifully written. Like the way the author describes Attar's personality through scent of perfume is so captivating.
However, I do feel that some scenes were a little over-described especially the ones where Attar’s personality is repeatedly tied to the scent of musk every time Alies meets him. After a while, it felt a bit repetitive.
Still, I really enjoyed the vibes and the concept of the story, which revolves around perfume. The author didn’t just mention perfume, she explored it in depth. From the scents, to the details of their job scope at the office. It wasn’t just surface level at all, which honestly amazed me.
Reading this book totally feels like watching an office romance Kdrama. Just that this book doesn't have much cute and fluffy kdrama moment. Because it's slowburn to the moment that it can make you frustrated a bit.
You know that feeling when both main characters clearly have feelings for each other, but keep denying them? When the slowburn is actually burning, that's enough to make you gigling and blushing. 😩🦋
I thought everything would end peacefully once they got together… but nope. There’s conflict too. I kind of understand Alies's feeling because it's her first relationship after all. Of course she's tend to overthink about their relationship. But Attar, I could see his effort. He's fighting for their relationship.
Overall, I like this book. Especially when the romance part that it's not cringe, it's slowburn and giving the office romance Kdrama moment.
