A story about a Japanese immigrant trying to find his way after retirement in the era right after WWII. The protagonist has a very simple way of thinking about things and has trouble navigating the complex world his son occupies. It's an easy quick read featuring a perspective you don't often hear from.

We have this book because my brother-in-law, Mark Komuro, did the illustrations. Deals with race and identity in post-WWII Los Angeles.
