"Review cut short - just like the story"

This trend for short introductory 'tasters' to tempt the reader into buying the rest of the story is a pain in the a

I own a paperback of Part One so I took the time to finally read it. I liked it and if I'll ever get a chance to read the rest, I will.

I should have been alerted by the reviews I read about this book but I plunged ahead anyway and now agree that it has the potential to be good but missed the mark! It is a compilation of four "stand alone" books or so it is supposed to be. Not true! The first three books which are actually chapters did finish a story. The last book started a new story which leaves the reader dangling and in order to find out what happens you must get the next however many to finish the story. I compare it to a daytime soap opera, you have to watch everyday to find out what is happening and the plot continues over numerous episodes. It did not have a great plot so I cannot in good faith recommend these books!

Let me introduce you to Jordan Fox, A 22 year old news room, intern reporter, who wants to be an investigative journalist. 5 years ago her mother was murdered and her dad was the lead suspect. But there wasn't enough evidence to charge him.

Now Jordan is on the job and investigating on her own. We have what it the beginning of 11 continuous fast paced, thrill inducing stories that totals 965 pages of kidnapping, murders, a drug cartel, plane crashes, car wrecks, a serious health outbreak, human smuggling, and crooked medical practitioners also. And that's not even everything.

Diane Capri and Beth Dexter combine to make one heck of a writing team. You seriously don't want to put this one down, and you are even more eager to get to the next one.

A serial.
Jordan Fox gets a job at Channel 12. Her work rival Drew Hodges, and an office full of people eager to see her fail.
On her first day she’s downgraded from Journalist to Intern, but at least she’s still paid something.
[I’m not sure why she needs to be a journalist to investigate her mother’s murder. She argues that the Channel has done a thorough investigation and have all the records. Well… no, the murderer hasn’t been caught.]
There’s an odd scene at the start that I guess is meant to inspire interest not confusion.

The summary says it’s 125 pages in paperback, but it’s struggling to be 30 in kindle. Which is odd.
I’m not interested enough to read on and I’ve got the next three ‘books’.

Reading up the books left for too long on my kindle I took on this one: turns out it is not really a book, but just the beginning of one: It's basically a reading sample which is not marked as such.
It reads ok, but is not strong enough to make me want to read the actual book (which I probably would have to buy in single pieces?!).
Nah...

Really liked this book. Although it ended a bit too soon, but I liked it well enough to by the 3 sequels. Its about a young, somewhat naive , journalism intern on TV in Florida. The style of this writer is one I really like. To the point, not too wordy, but descriptions, though short, are very good about places, characters and events. Highly recommend.

False truth 1-4 by Capri. Besides having a twit as the main protagonist, the conflicts are piled one on another and Jordan lurches from her story (or lack thereof) and not channel 12. (like the name Jordan Fox)

I would not call this a short story or a book. It is more like the first 4 chapters of a book. I was really disappointed by this and will not buy any of the remaining "books" to finish the story.

I read this as part of the Covert Affairs box set. The first four parts are included and I've read the first three. Jordan is a nice enough character and the action happens very quickly - but I just didn't really connect with her enough to bother reading the rest. It was just a bit too shallow with detail - which is understandable it's not a full length novel and doesn't purport to be - but it just didn't grab me). The first three parts make up one major story arc and I was satisfied with ending my involvement with the series there.

False Truth: A Jordan Fox Mystery Part 1 & 2

This is going to be a great series, and I hope an extended one. Worst luck ever!! I hope the authors ease up on that poor girl. I also hope they continue developing the Dad character. In fact, all the characters are great. Can hardly wait for more!

I received these ebooks from the authors in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Book one is about the length of one short story chapter...so extremely short. (Would have finished the same day had I not become distracted).
Peaked my interest though.
Will check out book 2 & 3 probably together. Seems like it could be a good series.

I hadn't realized how short this book was. Well, it's more just the first two chapters of a novel, and not a stand alone book.

That being said, it's a promising start and I will defiately read on.

Not bad but too short. Prefer Diane Capri Jack Reacher books. There are no bad books, just books that don't suit certain people.
